how everybody and the Taliban and welcome to enter the gungeon tips and tricks today we're going to be going over the basics of this game along with giving some beginner tips along the way to help you beat your pass and eventually beat this game the first thing we're gonna look at is this starting area along with the characters and the settings that I think you should be using first we're gonna head into settings and the first one we're gonna look at is screen shake amount this is their the amount that your screens going to shake when an explosion happens or you get hit I have this relatively low because I don't want to be bothered when an explosion happens I want to still be able to see but I do have it on a little bit because I enjoy sort of the hecticness of the air shaking when there's a small explosion so it's up to you but I would say I have this off or very low like I do another thing we're gonna look at is controller aim look and this air is how much that your screens gonna move when you move your cursor or analog stick I have this on sort of just above Midway because I like to be able to sort of see what's off-screen some people have this a lot lower so they can focus on their character more but it's again personal preference I have mine just above halfway another thing is controller aim assist amount if you're playing with controller this is how much your game is going to lock on to the enemy I would suggest playing this game with controller as it does make it slightly easier the aim assist really helps it means you can focus more on dodging when you have to run shooting but it does come with a downside and beam weapons are relatively useless because they have no AM assist and if you have your M assist high like I do it could stick on to enemies you don't want it to I've got used to it but that's again personal preference I would suggest using a controller if we had further down we can look at speedrun and besmirch speedruns just gonna give you a clock let you know how long you've been playing it run far is just a personal preference beast mode it does absolutely nothing it's just a jerk but you should definitely tick it cuz you unlock an item for beating the dragon once with this on so it might as well make it your first time it's a really good item so I'd definitely go and unlock that right we can confirm those settings and back out here sir now we can talk about the characters the first character here that I'm playing us now is the marine the marine is the best character out at the beginning fire I think due to his starting pistol being very very good with 10 bullets and I deal damage and he also gets a piece of which is good for new players an extra hit before you start taking red hair damage is really useful and he has an increased accuracy boost to all weapons which is just good throughout the game it's gonna affect you all the time it's not just a little boost on the first floor it's always good next up we have the pilot who starts with an active item called lockpick this gives you a 50% chance to open a chest without using a key and although this is orangey based it can be useful for opening up brown and blue chests when you're long keys he also starts with a 10% increased ammo capacity and one extra active item slot this character is very good but he does have one downside in his pistol is the West out of the four Stein characters it is really terrible and you really don't want to get stuck on the first floor just his pistol it's really bad for killing bosses after that it's the convicts the convict is a decent overall character she starts with a little revolver that you can tap shoot to shoot faster and a sawn-off shotgun and the sine of shotguns pretty bad but it can be used to find secret rooms and it's probably pretty decent on the first floor she also starts with a Molotov which just lays down a little bit of fire it's pretty good against bosses unless they fly and pretty good at clearing out rooms also recharge us fairly quickly another bonus is when she gets hit she gets a damage bonus throughout five seconds which does help out whenever you get hit the final character is the Huntress who starts with a crossbow and a dog the crossbow is really good for the first two floors and it's also a pretty good boss killer on the first floor so that's a good benefit it can also find secret rooms which is useful and the dog is pretty good because it can dig up random consumables although this is orangey based so it doesn't happen often but when it does it's a nice surprise you can also find mimics by backing up them so definitely watch out for that in the early stages of this game you're going to find orange cell door keys in the gungeon that unlock ourselves somewhere on that floor that cell will contain an NPC which will then spawn and this starting area here and each NPC is either a merchant to buy guns from and items from with the Germany credits although will appear in the gungeon later on to help you out and each shop sells a different set of goods like mr. goop and I think he's called mr. goopy I like that he sells like sort of goo related items like the syringe and things like that and the sponge and then you got this one up here was just weaponry and then this one down over here who sells you can just see him the big ogre dude that sells like military-style weapons and then you get Doug whose normal response here I think because I've got the model of good engine on he's not spawning for some reason but he normally spawns there and he will have an sort of DLC weapons from the Supply Drop up there I suggest you spend all of your hegemony credits on the this guy here Doug first as he has the best items available and the more Germany credits you spend the better the items get and his items are really good so I definitely suggest buying from him first if you haven't already started somewhere else a quick tip in the tutorial area of the game if you haven't done it already is if you get to this stage here and take a left you can complete this room and you'll get a blanket you see this crack on the wall here this indicates that there's a secret room in normal rooms you'll only get this crack if you've shot at the wall with a good that consumes amer but once you see the crack use a blanket ill open it and it'll give you this body here which will unlock an item totally add it to the gungeon also completing this tutorial unlocks the peashooter which I'm holding now if you haven't done it already so this is definitely worth doing I'd go and pick that up before you do anything else now that we've entered the gungeon we can take a look at some tips that are going to help you stay alive and get kills quicker throughout the first floor so let's head into this room here and the first thing we're going to keep you is keep your distance from enemies if you can keep your distance you're gonna get more time to react and it's gonna make dodging much much easier as you can see here I'm far away and I can keep a good eye on where the enemies are shooting and how I can easily avoid their shots staying mobile is always better than standing still is it gonna give you a lot more time to react to the incoming shots give you a better chance to being able to dodge them more easily it's always better to move out the way of bullets rather than dodge rolling as this means you can continue to fire at the enemy and it also means you're not committed to a direction as you would be with the dodge roll when trying not to get here it's always better to keep an eye on your character than to keep an eye on the enemy as it means you can more easily dodge the bullets some weave in between one so it means you're not gonna get hit from random bullets from behind as you can see here I'm just ducking and weaving between the bullets this is also a plus when you're using our controller as the emesis will mean you can lock on to the enemies without really focusing on where they are as long as you're having in their general direction as you can see here you will be here tables that you find in rooms can be interacted with and flipped doing this will block enemy bullets but what you're may not know is that during the animation of the flip it will destroy any bullets near the table and the table will take any damage this is great for destroying big attacks as it means the table will be able to take more damage later on a good tip to know when firing a gun is that once you empty the magazine clicking the fire button again will automatically start the reload so if we just fire if I good now and then press the reload button one more time automatically starts the reload this works really well with weapons that only have one amma in there clip because it means that you can just fire again and I'll automatically reload it and you just fire dozens so if I the a PG here click the fire button again it keeps going and if you just keep tap shooting it's gonna fire them as quick as you can when trying not to get hit it's important to learn the enemy's attack plans so you know what to expect when you see them in a room for example I know these red shotgun shells are gonna fire a small shotgun blast that travels slowly in a tight spread where it's the blue shotgun shells fire two shotgun blasts with a slightly wider spread and these little bullet kin are gonna fire a bullet at me every second or with a slight deliver on my character all of this really helps in trying not to get hit and knowing when you need to dodge on all five of the Chamber's there'll be two chest rooms containing a chest or a random rarity one chest will always contain a gun and the other will always contain an active or passive item whenever you come across a chest always find the other chest before opening either and put one bullet into each chest to make sure it's not a mimic this will make sure that the other chest that you didn't open with the one key that you get start with isn't of a better rarity you don't want to end up open a green chest and then finding a black chest and having no keys if you can help it always try to enter a chest room with a key because you don't want to enter the chest room and find a black chest that has a fuse and it blows up because you didn't have a key it's worth going to the shop and buying another key before you enter the chest room if you don't have one available when looking at what chest you want to open there are a few rules that apply you've got to think about before opening them one is that you probably shouldn't be opening brown chests unless you're in a specific scenario for example if you get a blue chest and a brown chest and you open the blue chest first and found out it's a weapon it means that your brown chest is guaranteed to contain an item Brown level items are much better than brown little guns you never want a brown little good chest really if you can avoid opening one durn unless you have a lot of keys on the first floor I would recommend opening blew chests are they do contain some good items and some good room clears but later on in the floors blue chests aren't really worth it you only want to be opening green red and black chests it's worth knowing that if you don't pick up a gun before the boss and kill the boss with your starting pistol it's guaranteed to drop a gun when you kill it this is really useful for if your last chest is a brown one and you know that it contains a gun it means you don't have to open it and you're still going to have a good for the next floor if you don't have any keys or it's a brown chest that you don't want to open it's always worth shooting the chest and destroying it without leaving the floor as it could contain a consumable in enter the gungeon there is a hidden stack called cash which increases the chance to find jammed enemies which are enemies that have triple health and deal double damage they still sound like a bad thing but they do drop more money and the chance of finding jammed enemies goes up with the amount of cash you have you can have up to as many cares as you want but going over ten will spawn Lord of the jammed which will be a grim reaper that will constantly follow you and fire bullets at you KS is attached to items weapons and some of the things in the game such as shrines for example if we pick up the shotgun it has one cares attached to it you'll see a little purple skull above our head when we go there we go look and you can see on the floor it was sort of smirking black this indicates that it's a cursed weapons having curse also increases the chance that a chest will have a fuse or be a mimic which again can be a good thing because if a chest is a mimic it means it doesn't require a key to open although you will have to fight the chest and higher rarities of chests will be hard as a fight learning how to count casts is incredibly important as this means you'll never end up going over ten and spawning that a lot of the jammed the ideal amount of cares to sarah is six or seven if you can handle that because that means you're gonna get more jammed enemies which means more money but if you go over seven you could spawn jammed bosses which have their cent more health and deal double damage it's possible to steal from shops with specific items and doing so will increase your cash buy want will give you the item for completely free although you do have to be aware cuz stealing more than once from each NPC will make the mat and shut their shop and this guy will shoot his shop for the rest of the room but I could steal this gun here and then come over and steal this one here it's from two different NPCs so for example I can go here and steal this and he hasn't noticed and then if I get the item again I can come back and steal one from here and neither of them will be mad as you can see I've recharged my active I am and I can come back and steal from this guy as well as you can see I've recharged my active item one last time to show you what happens if you get caught stealing he'll call you a thief you'll get a little red button they'll press it and now the shop is closed for good you get teleported out of there and you're not allowed back in for the rest of the room when finding a key after clearing a room or by killing a key kin it's worth leaving it on the floor until you visited your shop and this way a key will be forced to spawn in the shop and be available for purchase keys cannot be stolen by the resourceful rat so leaving them on the floor is perfectly fine you can go an adventure all you want until you find that shop and once you visit it you can pop straight back and pick up the key it's worth knowing that as well as not stealing keys the resourceful rat will not take blanks or health either he will however take armored guns ammo and items so don't leave any of those on the floor as you can see is a result of the last hip that is a key in this shop there is also another key which would respond either way but we don't know that before we enter so it's worth trying to guarantee want to be in the shop it's worth mentioning that trying to fall spawn a key currently does work but when Advanced Dungeons & Dragons comes out this will no longer be a future the first four chambers all have a guaranteed shop that looks exactly like this one and it offers keys Amma Amma health weapons items blanks and also has the chance for NPCs sell creeps and good munchies for spawn these are all really useful things but whenever looking to purchase an item gun anything unless you really need it desperately throw it away wait until you finish the floor then come back to the shop because you could find another NPC while searching or something else that you'd rather spend your money on this is the sell creep who can appear randomly on shops you can drop items and goods to him for money the money you get depends on the rarity of the item and you can drop goods by going up to him and holding down on the d-pad like this you can sell items by pressing or packs right in status and then if you want to go into your inventory you can drop another item like this hovering over it and pressing triangle the controls are gonna be slightly different on PC but the same thing still applies it's a really good way to get money for goods you don't want selling something like the Marines supply drop or the Molotov on the convicts it's a good way to get a little bit of extra money if there's something the shop that you really want blanks are an important part of a gun Junior's kit it will destroy all of the bullets on the screen and they're really useful for avoiding being here but I would definitely recommend saving them until your boss fight because defeating a boss without being here will result in you getting a master round which increases your health I want giving you an extra health container this is incredibly useful for the layer of floors as it means you can take more hits the boss it's probably most difficult but important part of the floor this is where you're going to get your master around if you manage to defeat the boss without being here the only tips I can give for this is learn the bosses patterns doing the boss over and over and over again and learning exactly how it attacks is the best way to dodge just going into the boss room and running around for a bit without shooing it and watching all of its attacks and knowing which ones you need to blank or dodge roll over it's very important always use your best gun on the boss don't be afraid to use Amer as these often the boss will drop an ammo drop or you'll find one later on you'll want to be killing the boss as quickly as you can and try and secure that mask around fighting the boss is where most of my tips about dodge rolling staying back and watching your character really apply this is gonna help you not get hit and get that flawless let's head in try and demonstrate this on whatever bosses are they so here we've got the bullet King and this is a boss that you really want to keep your distance from as it'll try to carnea you just want to keep trying to move around and stay as far away as you possibly can there's a few attacks like the Molotov that give you a brief window to move away and this attack here you could just walk around oh it's a dodge roll and then dodge roll the second little blast that he does after that attack again just keep moving around some of these attacks Maresa dodge but there I'm hanging a corner so I'm gonna use my air blank again gonna use a blank on that attack there is I was in a corner and you really don't wanna get caught with that ball attack as its presence of all the shots very unpredictable but first of is attacks you can just move around and if you've got a good weapon even if you've just got your pistol it's just the same few attacks over and over you'll get used to it and get your mass round if you have a gun that consumes amer available to you and the end to your chest room you should always take a few bullets and put them in the walls like here and here and as you'll see a crack will form and when you see that crack they'll make it a little bit bigger actually so you can fully see the crack see the crack there then use a blank on this or an explosion and that will open into a secret room where you can find extremes if you ever finish the boss with blanks left over it's always worth using one in this room here as it can spawn a secret room like this and there's one right here and as well using one in the shop if you have another left earth as the shop has opportunity for a secret room also this is useful as going down to the next floor automatically gives you two blanks so having two left over at the end of a floor is completely pointless you might as well use them now here's an example of a flawless run through of the first chamber using all the tips that I've showed you so far well that's all for this episode I hope these tips helped you out if you feel like I miss any please feel free to post them in the comment so that people can see or I can add them to a future video I do hurt to progress this series further and create an advanced tips guide along with looking at things like some of the quests available in the gungeon some of the guns and some of the bosses too hopefully you enjoyed and I'll see you guys in the next one
