This is a seminar that was presented at my alma mater recently. One of their research units is looking into the genetics of endo. They also invited a gynaecologist and endometriosis/pelvic pain specialist along with two women who run an organisation called EndoActive that raises awareness of endo and advocates for patients.

I found the pelvic pain specialist particularly interesting as she discussed ways that endo pain can present, and the cascade in symptoms that can arise over the years from the initial (often untreated) period pain. She runs the Pelvic Pain Foundation here in Australia and their website has some really great resources; especially on gentle stretches you can do to help with pelvic pain.

And, don’t worry, it’s not all dry and boring academic stuff. The host is the co-founder of a large women-focused digital media platform and she does a great job of keeping the session interesting and adds a little bit of humour to lighten the mood.
