but let's bring out our great panel and give them a huge steamboat welcome [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] thank you guys [Music] here comes our moderator you can hear me nice job on the Pink Floyd selection I don't know who that was that was the song it was refreshing in the last panel to hear people talking about how to keep students safe from actual violence not safe from mainstream conservative ideas and what I thought we'd do we have about 45 minutes and I thought we would begin by just having Charlie and Candice talk to everyone about what TP USA is and how your personal lives led into TP USA I know that Charlie spoke here roughly half a decade ago and a lot of people here I think are here for the first time so that might be really useful so why don't we just start there sure first of all I just want to say thank you all for having me here again I did not bring any antifa protesters with us today it's been a long month this week I'll have to say that much you know you can't you can't eat breakfast in Philadelphia anymore without drawing a small crowd I just first want to say thank you to the steamboat Institute and the amazing people in this room that have played such a critical role to Turning Point USA's growth throughout the years I sat on this stage I think four years ago and turning-point was a lot smaller than it than it is today it was we're on a couple hundred campuses it was an idea that was still in formation and here we are four years later and six years in were a presence on 1,300 college and high school campuses have thousands of activists passing through our training programs it's a really amazing successful Jennifer thank you for all the generosity and the platform you have given myself Candice and our organization throughout the years and thank you to Tom and Donna and David Allen and the laughs can't I could name everyone in this room because it's just been amazing the blessing that has poured out from this this conference and this gathering of amazing Patriots here in Steamboat so for those of you that don't know I started this organization Turning Point USA six years ago in June of 2012 Turning Point is now the nation's largest and strongest and I would say most innovative youth organization as I mentioned now present on 1,300 college and high school campuses we stand for free markets limited government and American exceptionalism we just this last summer have accomplished a lot we had the nation's largest young Women's Leadership Summit High School Leadership Summit young Latino Leadership Summit we had a chapter Leadership Summit brought our top hundred 20 leaders to the White House to meet with the President and had time to make fools of Antipa so we've been we've had a very I'd say interesting summer but we are involved in the culture war in a very important and pertinent way and as Candice always says politics floats downstream from culture met Candice back in November hired or five minutes after I met her and as they say the rest is the future as you say so most of you guys I don't know if all of you know this I started my journey on YouTube actually for me I was never really politically inclined I was working in a private equity firm in Manhattan and when Donald Trump announced his bid for the presidency I remember thinking that I did not want him to be the president of the United States for a ton of reasons I think he made a lot of people uncomfortable he definitely was not and still is not your typical politician but I was impressed by the rhetoric that was coming out of the media I if they said that they felt that he was ill-prepared or they didn't have the experience that would have made sense but and that they were saying that he was a sexist and that he was a racist and that he was transphobic and at one point they said that he was incestuous attea feelings for Ivanka and I thought that that was really extreme rhetoric ashle because I grew up in a household where I listened to a ton of hip-hop music and particularly in the black community Trump was glorified there were in JZ songs and Beyonce songs everybody was sipping poolside at mar-a-lago everybody wanted to be like Trump he was a symbol of status and then the second he decided to become the president stage they all changed their mind decided he was racist and that didn't seem very practical or true to me so I had started wondering then is it possible that racism is now being used as a theme to turn black people into single issue voters and of course the answer is yes I had this brilliant idea that I could be the person that could shake everything up I was gonna quit my job and everything I knew and start making YouTube videos and I was gonna have tremendous success really could have been a delusion but I suppose I got lucky and I worked really hard and I saw such a clear path in my head because I understood how it was possible that I thought I had to be a Democrat up until that point that I thought that I had to be a liberal I understood what was going on and I was by my third video I woke up in the morning and I had 29 million views worldwide thank you yeah pretty pretty big the the video was dubbed in Portuguese it was dubbed in Spanish it was dubbed in French and that was really surprising to me because I thought that I was hitting at an American sentiment that the media was duping us they were being dishonest that they were trying to wrap us into our emotions but that particular video in the way that it took off let me know that I was hitting a worldwide sentiment that something wasn't adding up and it really inspired me to keep going it led me to Charlie and the reason why everyone says why don't you have your own show why don't you do this if I was serious about reversing the effects of what I refer to as a mass brainwashing that the left has has been able to implement on the black community I had to understand how I was brainwashed and there were three main verticals that I understood we had to attack the first one is it's family so the breakdown of the black family which started in the 1960s with LBJ and the Great Society Act that's the first thing they did anybody that asked me the question what is the number one issue facing the black community I tell them it's father absence because it is thank you the second vertical culture and media III where do we get our information from most of the people that found me say they found me through kanye west's despite the fact that I've been on Fox News millions of times before that that culture and that media vertical was super important that we attacked the third vertical of course is the education system which has been turned into a liberal indoctrination camps and Charlie was already fighting that vertical so he and I linked up and he's not being funny when he says he hired me in five minutes I spoke on a panel just like this got off stage and Charlie said what do you want to do and I said I want to lead the black revolution against a Democratic Party and he said you're hired you're hired sit down you should do your trunk impression is really good I actually do a pretty good Donald I have to say it's not bad the best actually it was interesting to hear you say that your video went viral in other countries because one thing that I've noticed in the last few weeks actually is the extent to which the ideology of social justice and identity politics really has a kind of international reach and it's strange when I watch Brazilian news to hear people speaking and kind of the same terms that a lot of humanities professors in American colleges speak and so it's really just an observation more than anything it's not clear to me how that particular way of thinking has sort of spread to the degree that it has it's not organic it's quite strategic by George Soros in the open society foundation there's an ideology everyone should familiarize yourself with it's called post-modernism but it's really cultural Marxism and post-modernism started in 1970s from a philosopher in France Jacques Derrida all bad ideas start in France so we might as well continue that trend and then it got introduced to the Yale humanities department and almost every horrific idea in America starts in Yale and so that's two for two and essentially comes from this idea that there's no such thing as absolute truth that you are what you say you are this is where the whole idea of transgenderism comes from and the challenging of is there such thing as absolute truth so on and so forth the postmodern is saying no and in essence they they kind of blew up the paradigm of the boozy averse the proletariat and they reconfigured it to oppressor vs. oppressed more specifically based racial identity politics so you're looking at what the left would look at Candice and I and I'd say Charlie Kirk's a white anglo-saxon Protestant I am the oppressor Candice Owens is a black female she's oppressed there's nothing she can possibly do to break out of that mold unless she sells her soul out to the oppressor which they accuse her of and the only thing I could possibly do is to apologize and to pay tribute to society said I could possibly reconcile the sins of the past of white males against black women so Candace is in guren direct defiance of the suppressor versus oppressed paradigm cultural Marxism post-modernism is being taught in every major university across the world because George Soros is spending over 30 billion dollars to make sure that happens and you have to understand it's it almost gives a badge of righteousness and a badge of honor to victimhood and this is where Candice comes in so brilliantly where there's nothing honorable about being a victim college campuses what do you call it Candice the oppression Olympics they're literally playing the oppression Olympics it's like can I be more oppressed in the person next to me it's well well I'm I'm black oh but I'm black and I'm a woman oh but I'm black and a woman and I'm gay so I'm super duper duper oppressed and it's crazy these kids get up and for those you don't know what we do on college campuses Charlie and I sit in two chairs it very simple behind there's a sign behind us that says we believe in free markets and capitalism and then rough stuff yeah rough stuff and crazy ensues people are shouting and screaming and protesting and playing Beyonce music and loudly so they can drown out the sound of our voices and they're angry and they're bitter because I'm sitting up there and I'm saying that I believe in you you don't need government handouts you don't need welfare you can do it that has become a point of contention because they've been led to believe in brainwash that there's some value in being a victim and that the the idea that there is value in being a victim is what has led the black community to essentially disintegrate over the last 60 years and so let me tell you a fun story first here's a factoid Candis and I are the only conservative duo to speak at UC Berkeley UCLA and Stanford in a span of 6 weeks and live the Taliban alive so we were at UCLA and this was one of the moments where Candace confronted the black lives matter protest I say they confronted you and you handled it rather well when totally viral and that's how Kanye that's I think what helped trigger Kanye West to send the tweet out I love the way Candace Owens thinks my favorite encounter is when a young black woman who goes to UCLA was trying to convince us that she was oppressed well she goes to UCLA so give me a break I mean you could do whatever you want with your life once you're free let's just put that aside for a second so Candace had this wonderful speech about self-empowerment believing in the individual and saying I believe you can do anything you say you can do now this young black woman was programmed to oppose everything Candace Owen says no matter what she says and she said that's a horrible thing to say that's racist that's this that's that in Canada said no no I believe in you stop saying that and in Candace was like all right I don't believe in you thank you they aren't welcome like I hope you fail thank you maybe they really are that I'm insane and you can't make it up so we go around we tell people just how insane it's gotten on college campuses but until you're there and you understand what we're talking about that sitting in a chair can trigger people that you can get a crowd of people protesting you always always these people have blue and pink hair we tell our students if you see somebody don't care run the other way so and and and it's remarkable cuz I'll sit in a chair alone and Charlie won't be with me and I'll be on campus and you will have a white girl shouting in my face telling me that I'm perpetuating white supremacy that I am a white supremacist they are there that delusional there they have no idea there and they they'll say the same thing over and over again Candace how could you let down your sisters what about your sister Angela Davis I said I don't have a sister named Angela Davis and then I realized of course she's talking about Angela Davis and and and you know black feminism and and the idea that I can't think differently than any other black person is a fundamentally racist concept that I have to because is it not I actually had a student who said that the notion of objectivity itself was white supremacist and they think science and math are all constructs created by white men to help white men continue their power struggle you heard of feminist Glaciology it's like guys know them in a spin on a scientific discipline so well there were two directions I wanted to go and I wanted to ask first if there are any elements of your personal story that you haven't shared that might be of interest to the audience and getting us to understand even better how you came to do this like what motivated you and not a million other people well I think how many of you guys have seen my Prager you video okay so I did a Prager you video on my biggest motivation in life has always been on my grandfather he started his life on a sharecropping farm in North Carolina and worked his his his entire life to give us a better opportunity growing up in his household for the formative years in my life and he put God first his wife second or first you could say that they were tied and truly although he probably would tell you he was a Democrat he's a conservative those are conservative values if you believe in God if you believe in honoring your wife you know if you believe in structure that it those are conservative principles today so it made sense having having been raised in this household that I would come out the way that I did um you know he ended his life when him and my grandmother retired back down south he actually purchased the sharecropping farm that he started his life on and and now owns it and that really is the American dream the idea that you can start anywhere in your life and end up somewhere else as long as you're willing to work hard and not play the victim so my grandfather is the ultimate non victim he's stubborn to a fault in believing that he can do everything despite the fact that he's getting older and he can't he still believes that he can so my mentality is very much like his and I credit him with everything that I that I am today I for those of you that have come in following the journey of turning point one of the most development has been how some people this has happened under the kind of the evolution of Donald Trump if you look at at how turning-point has defied political gravity it's quite remarkable and what troubles Candis and I and this is a good lesson Fred one in this room is we have some wonderful allies on the conservative side first and foremost the first family and the president and they're unbelievably loyal people they understand the value of the culture war and we have you know we've done our part to defend the greatest president of the modern era fought one of the greatest presidents in American history Donald Trump and but what what it what gets us so frustrated and this will this might come as a surprise to some of you the most vicious the most hostile attacks come from fellow conservatives by far some are have passed through the ranks of this conference but I won't say any names but they they I don't know they're it's really troubling because we never do friendly fire Kandice tonight but it seems as if we're fighting too much are on our conservative on too conservative fire at times and look the enemies the left folks and we don't have time to get involved in crossfire or to get involved in friendly fire because we advised by Reagan's 11th commandment thou shall not speak ill of a fellow Republican or conservative rather have an 80% ally than a 20% enemy and this is something I think we need to get better at as a movement and not be you know driven by whatever motivations puts you forth with that correct and I talk about that a lot obviously we could talk all day about what the left does wrong but I think it's more important and it's more critical to assess what we do wrong because it might feel like we're winning it might feel like we're on top but if we're not able to have open dialogue about the things that we can change we can lose that in a moment particularly we saw this a lot during what we now call Kanye week notorious week that Kanye West tweeted out I love the way Candace Owens thinks and it was a huge moment and I don't know if this might be Kanye's crowd if you guys go home and listen to Kanye West but he's single-handedly the most influenced influential hip-hop artist beyond that designer one of the most influential people in the entire world is Kanye West he tweets one thing and within one week black support for Donald Trump double that's how impactful him putting on the mag a hat and saying I like Donald Trump he's my brother was to our community and what he did was he gave black people the permission to pursue different ideas so everyone that follows Kanye West and wanted to know who is Candace Owens they found my videos and there were a ton of debates obviously some people hated me some people loved me some were screaming boycott Kanye didn't work out he had number one album in 83 countries but the point is is that he did something for the conservative movement that will be spoken about years from now tweet seven words he ripped open a hole in reality that allowed people who had been so caught in a bubble so within this monolith that they were suddenly willing to pursue pursue different ideas and listen to different people and I've gained I can't even the following that I gained after that after that Kanye West tweet it was more significant than the Donald Trump to be about me that came a week later and what we saw in the conservative movement though were people that said ignore Kanye you know culture is bad like like you just want to stay within the box of politics because I don't know I guess there's an idea that you should stick your nose up to culture and say that's not the way that we go that's the way that the left goes well this is why the left has been winning they've had a stranglehold on culture they have a stranglehold on Hollywood and hip-hop and music and all of the idols that's why Don Lemon pretends to care about LeBron James opening up a school because all he cares about is that 5 second sound bite when LeBron James says something against the president the the CNN the the left they understand this that that's how much it matters because those kids when they're growing up in the projects and they're growing up in the hood and they don't have a father that's at home they look up to these idols they put on a jay-z track they wonder if they can be like LeBron James culture is an incredibly important aspect and it's something that Andrew Breitbart understood it's why he said he was the person that said the quote that politics is downstream from culture and it's incredibly important that we as conservatives embrace that it's interesting to hear you to talk about how the right in your opinion right now is cannibalizing itself that's something the left often says about itself too and they ought they often say that the right is so good at being cohesive if the left is cannibalizing itself or at least if they're attacking turning-point you if cents of the right or attacking Turning Point USA it would seem to me it could either be just for petty and B reasons it could be because they agree with your views but disagree with some of your tactics or it could be because they actually honestly disagree with some of your views so what like how do you without getting into names obviously what is your analysis of where this disagreement is coming up I'm not gonna attribute any motives to it I'm just only gonna say that it doesn't help that's energy where we could be going after you know liberals and leftists its own and so forth um but there there is still a segment of the Republican Party and many in house leadership and many in the Senate leadership that hate this president I mean look I said this yesterday and I'm on judge Jeanine show she was feeling with Hannity everyone's complaining about Bob Muller right no one likes Bob Miller here it's it's House Republicans that authorized the special prosecutor folks their funding hit they keep reauthorizing is funding they're supposed to exercise oversight of the special prosecutor they're doing nothing so I'm sick and tired of hearing about Democrats this Democrats that it's the Republicans that are giving Moeller the sword to killed president Trump and we just are supposed to do nothing about that I mean it's the Republicans that refuse to declassify these memos thank God for Devin Nunez it wasn't for Devin Nunez and Mark Meadows I don't know where we would be but that's in defiance of House leadership and so III believe that and I know this to be true because we spend you know time outside of America in Washington DC every so often that there is a bipartisan cartel to destroy this president and the lines are very clear either you are part of the establishment in both parties that would love to see this president fail Democrat and Republican party elites together cuz they want to get back to their swamp ish jacuzzi where they could just do whatever they wanted and no one would call them out for their deep state tactics or you're gonna support this president to actually recalibrate and realign the country back to you know servant governments and first principles and we see it firsthand I've never seen a group of people hate another group of people as much as they hate President Trump and their allies and we're not going to back down away from our support of President Trump just because thugs want us to stop talking [Applause] um so you're on Brooke if you're familiar with him he he was here yesterday and I don't think he ever actually mentioned the name Donald Trump but I do think that he implied a critique of trumpism because he thought I don't want to mischaracterize him but you know he's a libertarian he actually very much believes and I think what you stated was the philosophical core of turning-point us a limited market limited government and free market to me as a hardcore capitalist libertarian and he thinks that the Republican Party is losing sight of those principles and it seemed to me that he might have been suggesting that Trump in particular does not really promote those principles to the degree that he would like and he cited things like he's he cited things like protect economic protectionism trade policy and also he made the interesting argument that capitalism is inconsistent with with strict immigration controls that was my that was my degree here how did we miss this I love yarn I know where he's coming from and it's it's a it's a it's a Randy an objective critique Candace do you want to take this first or I just don't this is the most conservative president of our lifetimes I don't understand what does trumpism Americanism caring about us to be able to free markets capitalism putting power back into the individual as opposed to in the government where it's been siphoned up to into DC which controls 90% of the country's wealth is concentrated DC but they produce absolutely nothing well I don't understand what the argument is it's it frustrates me that people say they say come up with these terms right like trumpism or you know and it's just we're winning right now right we're seeing he's slashing 22 regulations for every one regulation he signs he's encouraging entrepreneurs to go out and to believe in the American Dream again and yet they're they're up there obsessing with the faculty tweets that because he tweets so Tom Cox here he always told me don't let perfect be the enemy of good and it's so true and first of all Donald Trump is off the charts more conservative more successful than anyone who was running in that Republican field and he has committed and done everything he said he was gonna do let me just tell you for a second you think that some of those other moderate Republicans would have moved the embassy to Jerusalem George Bush didn't you think what had gotten out of the TPP deal George Bush didn't you think you would have canceled the Iran nuclear deal they were arguing to stay in it and with Senate Republicans that authorized that under Bob corkers lack of leadership do you think that any of them would have actually pushed for it the greatest middle-class tax cut in American history twenty-seven hundred dollars per family opening up Anwar something that Ronald Reagan failed to do something that Bush failed to do something that every Republican president since Eisenhower's try to do open up the natural resources in Alaska the everywhere every single category judges one out of eight of judges Circuit Court judges have been implemented and confirmed than President Trump by president rump one out of eight in the entire country you know but I will offer a critique there are some lows about this presidency black unemployment all-time low woman unemployment all-time low Hispanic unemployment all-time low and and so so that so and here's the thing the trade thing okay so let's come from the premise that we don't like tariffs President Trump is more free-trade than george w bush you know how how i could say that he said all right europe let's do no tariffs let's go let's do no tariffs george w bush never said that george w bush never went to europe and said okay we've subsidized your entire continent rebuilding since World War two why don't we do no tariffs George Trump goes all right by the way you guys have a pipeline to Russia which I love that he called them out at that NATO meeting by the way right in the face of those German two-faced globalists right and Merkel's face he says yeah you're trying to critique me for Russian interference you have a multi-billion dollar pipeline going into your country by Russian oligarchs making billions of dollars and you're trying to tell me I'm bought by the Russians anyway um that he says all right all right Europe let's just do total free trade and they said oh no no no no no we have to do protection for our cars and our automotives so he's willing to go with total free trade and but but he understands that tariffs can be a mechanism to bring people to the table and look in if we start to understand the geopolitical consequence of how our trade deals were formed they are they were created out of balance to try to to try to subsidize the crit deed the advancement of Europe after World War two number two China is still declared as a developing country as the World Trade Organization think about that they are the second biggest economy in the world the largest population stealing r.i.p hiking hacking our cyber grid building islands in the South China Sea with a standing army that could take over the entire Asian continent and they're still fired filed in the World Trade Organization as a developing country that's what President Trump is fighting against and yet I find the people that are better part of this establishing media they immediately the gut reaction is guilty until proven innocent with this president and Candice you wanted them they just the enemy of the people when he says that the enemy of the people has been the media the fake news media he is correct that is the problem that there that on top of having to fight all of our enemies overseas President Trump also has to fight our enemies here okay he's the strongest leader that we have had in my lifetime I can't speak for everybody's lifetime but I'm very proud to have President Trump as my president and we will continue to support him in every single regard that we can illegal immigrant thing it's like well exactly and he's the only president in American history that gets attacked by the media for doing what he said he was gonna do he is the keeper of promises he goes says what did I say in the campaign trail I put forth a list of judges I'm going to confirm from those judges oh I said I'm gonna move the embassy okay the whole world doesn't want me to do it I'm still gonna do it okay draw from TPP get out of the Paris climate Accord deal one keeping of promise after the other energy deregulation and and when I find most flummoxing first of all from the left the left hates Trump more than they love America but establishment Republicans would rather see Donald Trump fail than America seated to succeed at the helm because they know that if the donald trump republican party succeeds which is anti-establishment tell it like it is pro free-market we're just in it we're gonna do what our instincts tell us to do when our instincts are always on the benefit of the pro-american worker and the citizen and the voter all of a sudden this is this by party blown up we both are passionately we stand up against the illegal alien thing trying to get my emotions over this if anyone's paying attention like this has they've actually been a threat to the black community the most people that have hurt the most by illegal immigration is the black movie when you talk about unemployment when you talk about and i always ask people do you think that black people should have to work for less than minimum wage and they say no i go what do you think happens when people come in over the board they're competing for those jobs because you talk about low-wage workers when you talk about the group of individuals that are impacted the most by unemployment it is young black men and this is who they are competing with illegal illegal immigrants you know illegal aliens we shouldn't even call them immigrants illegal aliens when they come to this country and they are committing crimes and they are bringing heroin over the border which has become an epidemic in this country that this administration is also working to fight and to conquer and when you say oh well these kids are engaged and they're being separated from their families when you commit crimes you are separated from your family that's not new that's not a novel concept are we crying for all of the kids who's whose fathers were at work or locked up and in prison are we crying for those kids that's what happens when their fathers commit crimes they're separated from their parents if I was to put my two kids which I don't have in the back of a car and say let's go rob a bank and and then the cops came and arrested me there's a chance that my kids would be put held somewhere for a little bit until they figured out where they could go welcome to what happens when you commit crimes there are consequences I don't understand all this emotion that's coming out you're exactly right sorry about that how much time do we have sorry 50 oh good okay okay so I've got a lot of questions we probably just have time for a few of them I thought this was funnily phrased I didn't read the back well I'll just read the front right now so if conservatism is about principles should we be wary of hitching movements movements to a celebrity's wagon so let me go okay we dress this is the final part we address this right okay so we just addressed this when we talk about the cultural war that people are sticking their nose up to we don't even have to answer that question because yes we should if there are celebrities that are willing to open the conversation and to get people to think differently and to think critically that's not pitching to a wagon that wagon is going nowhere there Kayne didn't say hey I'm everybody has to vote for Trump he said I like Trump okay he's allowed to like Trump he gave everyone permission to like Trump if they liked him he also did not then say I hate Hill right he just said who he liked right so the idea that we're hitching to his wagon is is false we are embracing the fact that there are people that have hitched their wagons to the celebrity culture and we're trying to do away with that we're trying to let them know that it's okay to be an individual it's okay to think differently and yes I embrace that completely Candice or Charlie do you think the left is losing or gaining momentum when they use groups like antifa and black lives matter as their poster child losing empty paw so I'm sure some of you saw our incident this last week the incident yeah so let me describe what happened in one sentence you ready I can do this I think white liberals screamed at a black conservative Candice Owens for defending a black police force against white liberals that were trashing a city that is 44% black how did I do it so that's by the way all the ante flow they were all white calling her a white supremacist so that one's interesting calling her a Nazi I mean calling the police force because it was all blacks there's a bunch of black men standing to protect us and they just started screaming race traitors at the police force and I asked them whose race are they betray right if you're looking at this side and we've got ten black police officers in a black female and every single person entity is a white gang and they they do it in the name of defending racism they use racism as I said as their excuse as their excuse to be violent as their excuse to to do whatever they want in order to acquire political power and that's what the left scheme is they don't care about what's happening to black America no one spoke about the 71 black people that were shot in Chicago over the weekend but then the same white liberals that didn't discuss Chicago did want to discuss boycotting Laura Ingraham because she talked about the changing demographics in this country they want a boycott Laura Ingraham because she's a third rated show all across cable news okay that's why they want they want political power they want to take down Fox News they do not care about black lives black lives matter does not care about black lives that's been that's been the thing that I've tried to teach the black community the most where was black lives matter in Chicago last week right so they boycotted all throughout the the presidential election of 2016 because 60 one six unarmed black men were shot and killed by police officers I did the math that's point zero zero zero four percent of the black community that is impacted by police brutality as a black man in this country have a higher chance of being struck by lightning than shot and killed by a police officer okay but they were boycotting violently silence anybody here has anybody heard from black lives matter since the presidential election has anybody heard from black lives matter about last weekend 71 black people were shot and they're silent do you want to know why because there's no way they can pin it on Donald Trump because last time there was a Republican mayor of Chicago 1931 all Democrat aldermen all Democrat congressman all Democrat monopolization of political control um by the way Rahm Emanuel was Barack Obama's chief of staff went away and go to implementing his policies locally in Chicago murders has gone have gone up under Barack Obama over 2000 black on black crime 4,000 the same amount that was in the Iraq war literally oh yeah no a four thousand it was the same amount of black men die in the southside of Chicago as they did in the Iraq war while Donald while President Obama was in office and and silence absolute silence so their priorities are it's all about political power they will use black people as much as they can to gain political power they do not care about black issues I don't care about baking them they want to make sure that black people continue being dependent on the government that black people are forced to defend that same government it's all about keeping them on welfare government handouts the black caucus stood up and clapped when Obama announced more food stamps they sat and and said nothing and didn't clap when President Trump announced that black unemployment was at an all-time low I mean visually can you imagine that they clapped for government dependency and basically sat there and soaked when we announced that more black people were becoming independent Democrats need people to need them that's correct that's correct sorry I don't even know if I answered your question just ranting I don't remember what the question was so I got these are some fascinating questions this one is about Wikipedia I'm gonna broad it in a little bit because one thing that's really interesting that's that's happening right now that all of us have to think about is the fact that there are these private sector platforms that in effect monopolize our access to information and if they are a politically biased that can have a really significant effect on political opinion in the country it's tough for libertarians though because you know one libertarian principle is that private sector organizations as long as they're not actually monopolistic can do whatever they want and they can have whatever political biases they want so the question was about Wikipedia but I would say to what to what degree do you think that Wikipedia Twitter Facebook and any political biases they may have have made it hard for you to succeed and also what is your position on what the proper response to these private sector effective monopoly is having a political quick as Wikipedia is impossible um we every day we're fighting against Wikipedia I read so first of all they took down my Wikipedia page I no longer have a Wikipedia page it's only turning-point you say I read the turning point of said Wikipedia page my boy I hate these people it's a lie I'm I mean it is it is so fallacious they pick articles at the quote unquote source from far left-wing rags written about total lies and fabrications about the organization we try to edit it we try to get people that even work within Wikipedia to edit it to no success and here's how it affects us but we try to get new chapters at colleges and high schools with the administrators like oh I read your Wikipedia page you guys you know embrace white supremacists yeah we have Candace Owens well I laugh we're wonderful white supremacist did my Wikipedia page for the first time about three weeks ago and I could not believe it I was actually laughing out loud in bed I was just like wow it's like Candice Owens born in Stamford Connecticut Falls has the wrong age too and then they say she's anti black anti-lgbt anti anti-semitic it's just every anti in front of my name after I got finished reading and I was like that woman sounds terrible I know I read this stuff like I hate this person and is how bad they are so III the one of my favorite fake news stories you guys will love this is that one on Wikipedia my age never changes so they say age 22 so I finally went to Wikipedia the journalist that was in charge of it and as like you do like I'm not 22 like and literally said wait you're not 22 anymore you wrote that three years ago like that's the one thing you can logically know is going to change it's like age like I'm going to get older but I think size of 22 one there the tech companies finds the more serious it makes you more impressive the tech companies I was a more serious issue I think you guys know that this week well yesterday on Twitter Gavin McInnes and his organization proud boys got banned Infowars got banned out of the Apple Store the store was an Apple Facebook and Spotify YouTube and YouTube at the same time so that shows a coordinated effort which is the most alarming thing in the entire world is set aside your films it's really matter what you think about enforce it to look at this situation objectively do we believe in free speech is what the question comes down to do we believe was was Infowars using their platform to tell people to go out and kill people no do is it scary to think that the biggest tech companies in the world are coordinating to shut down entire conservative or if you want to call them far-right companies yes it's alarming and if if we don't talk about it and we don't put it at the forefront of the discussion it can be in floors yesterday it can be me and Charlie a month from now and it is scary it's something that I think we're not doing enough to talk about and the solution is hard to because we don't want more government regulation so to say oh the solution is the government has to come and regulate these companies it's tricky okay so two good questions here having would people prefer a question about me too or a question about black identity this sounds fun maybe maybe we can do both although Jennifer's in the infamous chair okay so we'll do the may be really quick answers to both prolly just whispers I'll stay quiet on this one Candice has said that me too Candice has said that me too is about victimhood and political power but a aren't victims overcoming accusers isn't that the opposite of victimhood and be how is it about power if both parties have axed politicians okay so it's pretty simple I'm a person that has spoken out and said that I don't support the meat you move in and I'm also not a feminist and that disturbs people because I'm a woman I have to be a feminist I'm black so I have to support black lives matter everyone has a box that I'm supposed to stand in and I refuse to stand in any of them the Miche movement has become a witch-hunt against men period point-blank it anything that is rooted any movement that is rude and victimhood will always be able to be successfully hacked and used as a tool for the left but to take down people that they want to take down we're seeing that happen so I think I was the most ideological consistent person when I said that I didn't support the me to movement for the exact same reasons in the same tenants right I don't support black lives matter okay saying that I don't support black lives matter a silly conclusion would then be to say hey Candice that means that you like it when black man gets shot by police officers no I'm telling you that I don't the black lives matter movement is no longer about having productive conversations in the black community it's about a war on police okay the me to Berman saying that that means that I don't support women that are raped or sexually assaulted in America a situation is absurd but it's true for me to say that what I don't support is what has become a witch-hunt against men I've seen articles that were uncomfortable for me to read that just sound like bad dates and these people have been successfully able to end careers and take down men here's the thing and this is something that Condoleezza Rice and Gayle King spoke out against to I so I'm actually in alignment with them and one's on the left and one is on the right it takes away due process that's problematic even if a guy is able to to come on top of the claims and prove that it was entirely an allegation his life is already ruined because he's been taken through and smeared through the press and he's already had to step down from the bores have away from his company so I I believe in due process I also believe in in the that you don't need a hashtag to talk about issues that matter and I and I think that when anything begins to trend and it gives the power to women to take down men without due process it's the responsibility of strong women to speak out against it because men will never be able to okay please join me in giving a round of applause to Charlie thanks everybody nice [Applause] you
