Embedded with Special Forces in Afghanistan | Part 1

[Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] hey guys I'm reporting on an assignment here in Istanbul Turkey aka the city formerly known as Constantinople aka the birthplace of coffee this is our first video we've ever done I'm actually on my way to a bigger assignment but I had to take a detour here where it all started there would be no black rifle coffee if there was no Turkish coffee because some dude from Yemen brought his recipe from Ethiopia over up to the Sultan here and the Sultan was like this is really good we should keep doing this and then because it's tan bulb in Constantinople all the time was such a crossroads between Asia and Europe and the rest of the world it just blew up went to France went to Italy went to the King of England went all over the place I'm gonna go around see if I can't find the best coffee that Istanbul has to offer let's go [Music] [Applause] can you show me where the best clocks [Applause] [Music] so I found the perfect cup of Turkish coffee thanks to my friend here in this stand bowl pretty good pretty damn good my mission here is finished [Music] just landed in Kabul Afghanistan and getting ready to head over to resolute support headquarters now this is my second time back here in the last year some has changed a lot hasn't the Afghan Special Operations Forces have continued to improve high-profile attacks have also increased but overall security incidents have gone down Kabul is still a dangerous place Afghanistan is still a dangerous place but this trip I'm going to focus on the guys who are fighting the war going on 17 years fighting this as well as their Afghan counterparts and of course a little bit of coffee a little bit Afghan coffee so looking forward to the trip and here we go [Music] yeah and the team [Music] [Applause] [Music] I am here in Kabul Afghanistan at Hamid Karzai International Airport I'm hanging out with the Afghan special missions wing these are the guys that are taking Afghan sauce all over Afghanistan swak and bad guys going after the counter-narcotics missions these guys are pretty amazing [Music] I'm gonna be flying out with them today we're gonna go do a mission over Kabul we'll see what happens let's go [Music] [Music] [Music] these smw pilots are amazing the stuff they're able to do in the air is just incredible they fly on their nods they land on rooftops they land on mountains they do some amazing stuff they put guys out via fast rope just stuff you would never even imagine these aren't your run-of-the-mill and Afghan Air Force types these guys are next-level the crew chief on this is incredible the pilot is incredible these guys are flying combat missions day in and day out I'm really blown away at what they're able to do [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] so I'm out here with a Special Forces Oda in the moment Valley they are getting ready to blow some trees clear out some dead space they're kind of on the edge of right where the bad guys start and the good guys end and they need as much security as possible camp is still pretty rudimentary and they got to do as much as they can to bolster defenses not necessarily a safe area but you know they're doing what they can to make it as good as possible as one Special Operations Officer told me it's pretty safe until it's not neck call neck call neck call fire in the hole fire in the hole fire in the hole you [Music]
