hey how's it going everybody today's video we're going to be working on the srt10 if you guys haven't seen the last video and if you guys are just getting up to speed this thing has been sitting in the corner for a little while and we haven't really done much with it we did a lot when we first got it into the shop and we did the black housing headlights cleaned up the grill put all leds lowered it put these hellcat replica wheels on it and i've been talking about this kit for a little bit and this company sent me electric cutouts so we got dual electric cutouts and today's video we're gonna see about getting these on so i am a amateur welder at best and we're gonna see about putting these on so these ones are the types sometimes you'll see they have like a y-pipe and you kind of chop it chop it and then splice it in but these actually uh you have to put over top of the pipe kind of mark your mark and then you cut out the center and then you weld this back on so we're gonna have to do something like that but uh i haven't really opened everything just yet it has these downturns as well if i can get it out of the package with one hand so i will link this kit for you guys so it has this for the other side so we can aim it where we want and then it's got the v band as well and of course it's got the electric cutouts so what i'm going to do first is we'll probably just kind of i want to roughly bolt these things together so that we know what size we're doing unless we have to figure out a position on the vehicle so this is it they're two and a half inch because it's two and a half inch exhaust all right so i just assembled everything you guys and there's a couple of gaskets that it does include here so you can see two gaskets there and then it has this splitter thing because you could technically just have a single cutout and it's kind of cool this is a wireless uh transmitter for this so it's all wireless so you can have this on your keychain you have your vehicle running be standing out here and open it close it you guys saw my ram 1500 cutout we programmed it actually to the garage door opener on the factory truck so this here you know has like a cigarette lighter type thing that you could plug in but we're gonna wire it into the truck and i guess we're gonna use this little splitter thing so that it can go to both ends on here it looks like you can see that little led there the remote is you know the battery is dead so so you will need to install a battery into the remote and as you can see there it works but it's three screws on the back you're gonna need a 20 32 um i tried a 20 25 i'm not familiar with the numbers but you do need one of these ones because a little bit fatter so go ahead and put the remote back together so i'll show you guys the operation of these valves so the wires do have like your typical cigarette lighter on the end we're not going to use this but for demonstration purposes i can show you guys how this works the wires are fairly short so we're going to have to extend them for sure but we plug this in and then we've got our little remote if we hit open you can see them opening if we hit close you can hit close so obviously it works um one thing is it's it's all or nothing so open is completely open there's no way to to i guess stop it partially the way through with this controller so um but anyways we will leave them open for now and we'll get to the install okay guys that took way longer than expected and i saved you guys the headache and hassle of having to watch me do it i got both uh down pipes off or mid pipes whatever we're calling these with the cats and stuff so i want to take them off i marked them with them on the truck and like i said i got this thing off but had to deal with some frozen bolts on the actual collector so got them off and then i'll show you guys this so i marked them before i took them off so this is how it's going to sit on the pipe and then obviously the other pipe but you have to cut out obviously some sort of oval section so that the exhaust can actually escape because if not well you can't see it but obviously it's just uh you know solid pipe so i marked it just use my marker there i'm gonna go ahead and take this off cut out inside and then uh then we can get to the fun part welding these on and hopefully downhill from here and you know putting this stuff back together all right so i just used a drill and drilled a few holes within my kind of whatever we're calling this thing triangle template here it's a little spaceship looking thing and now i'm just gonna cut this out with um either my air saw or a sawzall either one probably like the little metal aerosol that i have just buzzing around here and then we can clean it up and kind of shape it up so i've left a little bit of a margin so that this thing has something to bond to because this line is where it ends and i'm gonna have to clean up here where obviously we're gonna be uh welding it to but i wanna give myself a little bit of room because i'm going to right before like i don't have much room in this area so right before i actually tack it i mean as long as i have a nice opening here it's going to be able to flow what it needs to flow but i just want to give myself a little bit of room so that i can adjust it as necessary because i'm going to put this thing on and tack it then we'll take it back off and fully weld it of course so like i said i'm going to leave a little bit maybe a quarter inch all the way around on this template it'll be plenty and then that way like i said i can mess with it as needed all right one down one to go [Music] all right guys don't mind the mess i am going to clean this up it's just been hectic so here is electric cutouts right there so uh i'm just getting them in place because i don't have a ton of room right here so i just want to make sure that we're definitely good to go because it is close right there i don't really have any other way to position this if i try to angle it down it gets into this pipe and then here's where the other one is going to go so um i got the welder right there got the eastwood welder so i'm just going to tack it in place and i'll take it off and fully weld it so i got several decent tacks on there so i'm going to go ahead and do the same with this one then we can pull everything off we got them on here like i said it's got a few tacks on enough to know where they got to go and then i'm going to pull them off and do them all properly down here so it kind of looks a little bit crazy like one's going this way and one's going to be going that way but it's kind of just the way the exhaust comes in through here before the muffler so um yeah there's not i mean i'm trying to you know i'm keeping the cats and stuff so uh without doing something there there's really not much room to do it on the passenger side so it's where they got to go it's still going to be fine though it's still going to sound good still going to give us the sound we want so let me yank these off and then i'll weld them on the ground and we can get crack in here all right well for some reason my camera didn't record but i ain't no professional welder i'm still learning but i got it all sealed up so i'm going to go ahead and do the other one i'm running a little bit low on gas i do know that much about welding so i want to make sure i get the other one done and if there's any spots that look like i need touching up i'll get them but i mean like i said i'm not a professional welder but i think i did an okay job for my first kind of welding thing so like i said it's not no piece of art but she'll seal and she'll work so go ahead and do the other one all right so like i said i am by no means any sort of welder by trade but got it done got it sealed up i made sure that there wasn't any pin holes you know looking in so i'm going to go ahead and bolt this stuff up and then once i get it up i'm gonna skip through you know me struggling with getting it on here because just one guy and trying to put this up but uh once i get it up i'll show you guys you know installing the hardware and all that stuff so we'll just cut right to that all right guys so now finally comes to the fun part where we get to put on the exciting stuff so we've got our two cutouts here like i said this is the setup so it's going to come here the other one's going to come right here it's not going to hang lower than the bottom of the muffler guys so hopefully the camera picks that up but bottom muffler it's like a couple inches up so we'll still be okay right here it's not like we're gonna run into any ground clearance issues so i'm gonna go ahead and the way this is gonna work is they give us gaskets amazing i know a lot of people gave me a heck for wanting gaskets on the last electric cutout setup i did there's one on each side so one gasket will go on the cutout side the other one will go on the other side to seal to this flange some guys are saying oh you don't need a gasket on the other side because you know it's already going to exit but i'd rather not have like black you know coming out of all different areas so i'd rather not have you know a potential leak on this side so i do like the fact that they gave us a gasket for both sides so let me go ahead get this on here we've got our included hardware with our lock washer and this part is threaded so it's pretty cool we'll just fire those bolts in and then we can situate uh our little dumps and we can go ahead and put this on okay guys so we got the cutouts on so it is kind of crazy over here the way we managed to fit them in but i'm glad we double triple checked because she is on here so they're in here we're good lots of clearance and everything's tight so now you'll see these two things and then we have these cables to extend these wires all the way up so we're gonna have to extend these wires all the way let's take these wires up top and then we can finish the wiring so we've got our wires ran to up top so let's go ahead and lower this thing down pop the hood and then we'll finish the wiring up top okay she's on the ground let's go ahead and open it up and you can see my ball of wires right there so i'm going to get it up towards the battery um quick comments on this you guys so you could either install it to a switched power source or you can install it directly to your battery and the reason why i say this is for example if you want to open them before you turn on the engine or close them before you turn on the engine you can do that if you hook it straight up to battery source if you hook it up to some sort of ignition source the vehicle has to be in the on position before you can open or close it so just take that for what it's worth you can do it either way but just consider it um and what you might want to do with your application all right guys so i came up with a super clean setup so this thing isn't waterproof um at least i don't assume it is because it's got some holes in it i found a perfect spot for it right here and then this is the end that has a cigarette plug lighter on it and i'm going to use one of these fuse taps so i'll go ahead and i'll link this for you guys down below but i'm going to find a switched ignition source and then we'll use one of these fuse taps hook it up it'll be here and then these little pigtails will come out of our uh fuse box and plug into our two ends right here so i put the negative from this box um i took it out of the sheathing so this tiny little negative wire is going to this chassis ground here so i'll tuck this up but you can see i put one of those uh little loops on it and then the other side so the red right here that one i just i took a look at the the fuse um and what was what this one's for backup lights and it's 15 amp so i think that should be sufficient it's not like we're going to be backing up with the backup lights and opening the cutouts at the same time i doubt it so i think i'm going to take this one and it's a switched ignition source so we'll go ahead and put the fuse tap on that one hook the red up to the red from this box this tiny little wire this is originally from the cigarette plug so we'll go ahead plug that in and then uh we can pretty much button this up i already connected those two connections down there so you can see those and that's about it you guys all right so there's the finished install you guys it worked out beautifully so you can see i have my fuse everything's there and then if i go ahead and hit the button i think you guys can hear that so we'll go ahead and install the cover i don't think that the cover is going to really interf like block any of this wireless communication if anything like that goes on i will definitely let you guys know but it's not like we're going to be miles away so here we go let's see yeah it still works so it doesn't seem to matter with that lid or not so there's open closed and the cool part is i've got homelink buttons on this boys so we can program it to the overhead buttons and you know we're going to do that all right boys let's go ahead and start this thing and see what she sounds like so we'll go ahead and we'll start it up with it closed first start it completely stock sounding we hit the open button jesus that is some base oh that's open closed huge difference you guys again open [Music] wow that's crazy wow [Music] open all right guys so that's a wrap for today's video that's like a lot of work to get the exhaust off you know put it back on all that stuff but definitely the end result was worth it so i'm gonna have a ton more sound clips for you guys and stuff and drive-bys and all that stuff um i have some other stuff i want to put some fog lights on so that's why i've still got it up on the hoist and uh we'll go ahead and we'll get a lot more videos for you guys sound clips drive-bys all that good stuff and i'll also show you guys in a separate video how to program that wireless remote to your uh factory buttons the home link buttons that are inside your truck so if you guys like this video make sure you definitely give it a thumbs up i will link everything down the description below so you guys can check it out and get the same stuff if you're interested and don't forget to hit that subscribe button we'll see you guys on the next [Music] video [Music] you
