Elden Ring: The Noob's Guide Part 1 (Ultimate Beginner Guide)

yo what's up everybody jumping here today i am super excited because this is going to be my very first episode of my noobs guide for eldon ring if you don't know what the noobs guide is it is a 100 walkthrough of the game it's going to be very difficult to 100 this game but i'm gonna try my very best now this series is targeted for newer players if you're a veteran player you can watch it and you might learn a thing or two but it's really meant for the newer players now the very first thing i'm gonna do is go over a tutorial on how to basically play the game after that we are going to go and get overpowered and i really mean that by the end of this episode which might be kind of long but by the end of it you're going to be so strong that even as a newer player the game is going to feel easy and the game has a high reputation of being very difficult but the game if you're following this guide will be easy at least for a very long time now if you're going to be following my guide i recommend that you will use a certain origin class you have multiple choices but you're kind of limited in some ways first off the keepsake choose the golden seed it's going to give us an extra healing potion to start the game that's very good for the origin class i'm going to be playing as the vagabond which is the knight but you can also if you're following this guide start as a samurai it's perfectly okay if you want to use the samurai armor and start with a katana you can do that we're gonna be switching it up though especially with the weapon because when we get overpowered we need to switch the weapon we're going to get a way better shield so things are going to change but if you want to start as a samurai you can that's fine another class i kind of recommend potentially starting as is the wretch you might look at this and go do i want to start naked and afraid level one well this is a good choice because if you're following the guide it's not gonna really matter you're gonna still get overpowered by the end of this episode but this class gives you a lot of freedom later on you're going to be able to reset your build and reallocate all of your points so much later on when you've been playing the game you might want to switch your build maybe you want to become a spell caster or you want to switch to a pure strength build or something like that this class gives you total freedom to switch to anything you want the problem is let's say you start as a samurai and you're going to start with 15 dexterity which is a good amount of dexterity to start the game if you want to switch this class to be let's say a pure strength build that 15 dexterity can kind of mess you up when you're making your new build now this is really a big problem for the spell caster classes if you have 16 faith or 16 intelligence it's really kind of difficult to switch this starting class and then say well i'm going to be a sorcerer now and use intelligence you're always going to have that 16 faith whenever you reset this so keep that in mind that's the reason why this is a good choice is for later on you can reset it and play anything you want and switch to any build you want now the vagabond and the samurai to be honest with you it's not a big deal because dexterity is always actually pretty nice strength index is always pretty good and you're probably going to need it on almost every build anyway so these are okay but this is definitely the best one for if you're thinking in the long term and you're thinking about resetting build especially once you've been playing the game and you're following the guide and now you've gotten better at the game you might want to try new things and if you don't want to just start over fresh you can always just reset your build and make it into a new build now that's really all i wanted to say we're about to start the only other thing i'll quickly mention is i'm going to be skipping all the dialogue and all the cutscenes i'm going to try to keep this somewhat spoiler free it's going to be hard but i'm going to try my best to kind of keep it spoiler free but let's go ahead and get started [Music] all righty now first things first we're going to run over here and we're actually going to pick up this item now when you walk up to it you can see on your screen how to do it but on the playstation we need to press triangle and that's going to pick up the item now what i'm going to do is i'm going to put in the description a translation for xbox controls because i'm on the playstation and i'm going to be talking about playstation controls this entire time so if you're on the xbox and you don't know the difference just check out the description i did try to record this where i kept talking about well this is how you do it on the playstation and this is how you do it on the xbox and honestly it just kind of came off awkward so i decided i'm just going to talk about playstation if you don't know the difference look at the description you can see the difference in the description now let's talk about movement the very first thing is how to sprint if you want to sprint you just need to use your left stick and then you want to hold circle and that's going to allow you to sprint in this game you can actually jump on the playstation you can jump with x so just press x and you can jump and obviously you can jump up to different places and it's super useful now you can combine the two together if you sprint and then you jump you're going to jump further which is really nice now another thing you can do is back step at any point by just pressing circle and nothing else you can backstep don't matter whichever way you're looking just press it and you'll back step if you want to roll you need to use the left stick and move it in that direction you want to roll and then press circle so if i go like forward on the left stick and then i press circle i'm going to roll forward if i like hold backwards on the left stick and i press circle i'll roll backwards same with left to right now one thing you might notice is that i'm fat rolling that's not a good thing i'm going to be switching that very soon if you're starting as any other class you're not going to have that problem only the knight will have the fat roll to start off and it sucks you never want to have a fat roll it's not good but what we're going to do right now is we're going to just run over here this is going to be a boss battle and this boss battle is meant to kill you you can cheese it with the bow on the samurai it's pretty difficult even like trying to cheese it to be honest but you can do that but i don't recommend it don't waste your arrows just let the boss honestly kill you if you want to attack the boss just to play around a little bit go ahead but i'm going to literally just let it kill me it's going to miss i guess so i'll smack it a couple times why not come on i'll fat roll through your attack okay there we go once this boss actually hits you he's gonna hit you hard really really hard and you're gonna get a cut scene once you die now after the cutscene you're to get your healing items which are obviously very important you're going to get a red potion and a blue potion the red potion is going to restore your hp which is the red meter if that depletes you're dead that's the most important meter the blue potion is going to restore the blue bar which is your focus which we will be calling fp which is focus points the green bar is your stamina so any action like attacking or rolling or even blocking will deplete your stamina and your stamina will just regenerate and if you're doing nothing it's going to regenerate a lot faster an example is if you're blocking is going to regenerate slower so you want to stop blocking if you want to have it regenerate faster now real quick if you want to cycle between your items that you have equipped right now we have both of the healing potions equipped we can do so by pressing down on the d-pad if you want to cycle through your spells if you have spells you could do so by pressing up on the d-pad if you have multiple weapons you can cycle through them let's say your left hand which is my shield currently if i press left on the d-pad i can cycle through my weapons and for my right hand i just press right on the d-pad which currently i have two weapons because the knight will start with two weapons now if you want to use the item that you currently have selected you just need to press square and you can chug a potion let's say that you've taken a lot of damage and you are about to die and you need to use more than one potion you can do it quicker by just tapping the button you can double check you can triple chug you can quadruple chug whatever you might need to do you can do it by just tapping the button now let's go ahead and talk about the menu stuff real quick if you press your start button you will see equipment item crafting inventory equipment it's going to be all your gear like your armor and your weapons item crafting we can craft stuff in this game we can't do it right now but we will be able to soon inventory there are certain items you can use so you just go into your inventory to use them your status i want to quickly talk about this so when it comes to your different stats your vigor is going to determine your hp your mind is going to determine your focus so if you want more focus points get your mind up endurance is going to be your stamina and equipment load if you want to equip heavier stuff you need to level up your endurance strength is going to be for strength scaling weapons and there are certain requirements to use certain weapons you might have to have a higher strength stat same with dexterity it's going to affect dexterity scaling weapons and sometimes you're going to have to have a higher dexterity if you want to equip those weapons intelligence that's for the sorcery spells faith is for the incantation spells and arcane is really for statuses it will also boost item discovery but really it's all about the statuses which there are bleed madness frost different statuses in the game if you want to inflict them quicker if you have a higher arcane that will do it now when it comes to the rest of the stuff messages you can put messages down and people can rate those messages multiplayer this is a shortcut for all of your multiplayer items which you're going to have pvp items and co-op items and you can set up a password by pressing triangle in this menu if you have friends you're trying to co-op with set up a password or if you're trying to fight your friends and do duels same thing have a password and system this is just all the different menu stuff different things you might want to adjust if you're on the playstation i'm going to give you a quick tip motion sensor function turn this off if you have this on when you wiggle the controller you can do an emote it can get you killed you don't want that now let's go into equipment and we can actually look at stuff so we have right now we have two weapons equipped so this is our right hand we have our shield so this is our left hand we have our armor here which we can always just switch later on if we want to down here the empty slot is your talisman if you played any other games it's going to be like your rings so you can get some extra bonuses from the talismans and down here this is where your items are going to go now i'm going to quickly go ahead and equip the couple more items to kind of show you something because i do not really recommend having a lot of stuff down here the problem is is that when you have multiple items on the bottom you can cycle through them by pressing down on the d-pad let's say you're about to die and you're trying to heal well then you have to quickly cycle and try to find your healing item so you can use it that can be a problem so to simplify this we can actually just not really have many items on the bottom but there is one thing you can do if let's say you need to heal if you hold down on the d-pad it's going to automatically cycle to the very first item equipped so no matter what you do your healing potion should always be the very first item so i'm going to quickly remove these off the list by pressing square and there is another really cool thing in this game that they added it's called the pouch so if you're in your menu if you go over to the right side you'll see pouch below that is your emotes so if you want to do emotes that's how you do them but the pouch is super useful because it is a extra item menu that you can have so when you first like start playing the first thing in the pouch is going to be this memory of grace i recommend just remove this so just press square remove it and what i'm going to do is on my down on the d-pad you can set this up however you like i'm going to put the fp potion on the pouch because you're not going to be using your fp potion all that much you're going to be using your healing potion a lot more so currently i have nothing but the healing potion for my little quick menu that way it's super simple i don't have to cycle through it all that's the only thing i have if i want to use my fp potion and i want to get to my pouch all i have to do is hold triangle by holding triangle i now can see that i have the fp potion there and if i press down on the d-pad i can use it so it's very useful now i talked about this before but the knight is the only class that will start with a heavy load if you look on the right side you can see hp fp stamina and below that you'll see equip load it says heavy load so we don't want that we always want to have at least a medium load so that we can actually roll and it will be effective you don't want to have a fat roll it's really bad so to do that all i'm gonna do is just unequip something so i'm gonna unequip the halberd now the halbert in my opinion for this class is a better weapon than the sword but because i'm recommending people to maybe play as a samurai or even as a wretch i'm gonna use the sword because it's more similar to either the club or the katana so we're gonna hop down here there's that guy in the chair over there but we can hop down here and this is actually the first tutorial level so we can actually talk about combat and i'm gonna give you some tips over here this is our very first grace if you touch this this is a checkpoint the moment you touch it you're good if you die you're gonna respond here you do not need to rest here to activate the checkpoint but if you do rest all the enemies are going to respond all your healing items will be restored and later on we're going to be able to level up and do a lot of stuff over here now because we selected the golden sea to start the game if we go over to flask we can actually add charge use one golden c to increase the amount yes down here increase the amount replenished that is an item that we're going to be getting called the sacred tear and what this is going to do is make the potion stronger so when we heal we're going to heal for more you can also allocate it so let's say you want to have nothing but healing potions you can do that or if you want to have like 3 healing 2 fp you can also do that right now having four and one is totally okay so that's what i'm gonna do and now we're gonna move on and actually start fighting a little bit so the most important thing to do or to know is to actually how to lock on you need to click in on the right stick to lock on now when you're locked on you're going to be focused on the enemy sometimes and later on once you get better at the game you might not need a lock on you kind of have a little bit more freedom for like rolling at times when not locked on and also doing certain attacks from different angles you have a little bit more freedom not being locked on but being locked on as a new player is totally fine so just use it all you want so if you want to do a light attack you need to press r1 and if you just spam it you're going to do many light attacks if you want to do a heavy attack you need to press r2 and this is going to be your heavy attacks so for this first enemy we're just going to do some r1s i should have locked on there but up here there's two enemies so if i lock on i can actually cycle through the two enemies by using the right stick going left and right i can cycle through now i'm gonna do a heavy attack on this guy and i missed and if you want to block just hold l1 with your shield and you can block and that will negate the damage the samurai class is going to start with a crappier shield and the wretch has no shield now if you want to check your shield let me quickly show you that if you go to equipment go to the shield you can see it says guarded damage negation physical 100 magic 43 and the lowest is lightning at 27. those are percentages so it will block out 100 of all physical damage and only 27 of lightning damage so as long as the enemy is only hitting me with physical if i block it i'm not going to take any damage but my stamina will deplete so let me go ahead and do a heavy attack against that guy now real quick what i'm going to show you is a very good thing this game is super reactive so what i mean by that is that you always generally want to either one be aggressive to start the fight and when you are aggressive you can get a stun against the enemy and then you can follow it up to try to get some damage and hopefully you can even kill the enemy before the enemy can even react to you but if the enemy is going to attack you a lot of times either you can roll to dodge the attack and then counter attack or you can block and then counter attack that's going to be the best way of playing and that's the main thing you're going to have to learn as a new player but if you want to be aggressive what you can do is just run in and attack the enemy the best way of doing this is by doing a running attack so if we hold circle to sprint and let's say we're locked on we can run in and do a light attack an r1 and this is going to stun the enemy and then we can follow that up with another r1 to finish off the enemy you can also do a running heavy attack so if you're running and you press r2 you'll do a heavy attack now if we actually come over here i'm going to show you another good opener now up there there's going to be an archer guy with a crossbow and i'm just gonna block real quick but another good opener that i like to use is actually going to be the running jump attack now real quick there is a guy up here and he has a shield so what the game wants you to do right here is going to give you a tutorial they want you to two hand now the two hand it's different in this game than in the other games in the other games you just have to press triangle to two hand but in this game you have to hold triangle to access your pouch remember that but if you want a two hand if you press r1 you will two hand your right hand weapon if you press l1 you will two hand your left hand weapon so you can actually chew in your shield not a point of doing that right now but in general that is something that you can do so i'm gonna go ahead and two hand my weapon real quick and i'm going to attack this guy while two handing your weapon you're going to be able to not deflect off the shield and if i do enough attacks i'm going to break this guard and then i can get a critical so let me show you this real quick if you are one handing the weapon and you try to attack you're going to bounce off and then that gives him a chance of counter attacking me so that's no good but another thing you can do which is incredible in this game is something called a guard counter and this is super useful for using a shield so what we can do is if i attack this guy he's programmed in the tutorial not to attack me but if i attack him he's going to try to counter-attack me so if i block the attack once he actually bounces off my shield i can press the heavy button which is r2 and i can do a guard counter so i'm gonna do that right now he's gonna attack me okay there we go if i press r2 it's gonna do a guard counter and it's going to knock him down i can get a critical it's super powerful i really recommend learning how to guard counter is going to be awesome so up here i'm going to do what i talked about before which is a good opener i'm going to do a running jump attack so you have jump attacks where you can do a light attack while jumping or you can do a heavy attack while jumping i prefer doing the heavy attack because it's going to stun the enemy a lot more so if we run in and we jump and do a heavy attack i'll miss as you can see but let's do it again and i'll kill the enemy so basically this is a very good opener to just get a quick stun on the enemy and you can go ahead and follow it up with light attacks to finish off the enemy so right here i'm gonna do another guard counter remember the moment that the enemy hits my shield i can go ahead and press r2 to do a guard counter now if you're using a quicker weapon like this sword the guard counter is going to be a lot faster if you're using like a really heavy slow weapon the guard counter will be slower so keep that in mind now another option that you have is you can actually charge up your heavy attacks you charge them up by holding r2 and you can actually do two heavy attacks so you can technically charge up two of these so i'm gonna try this against this guy right now i'm gonna charge it up and i'm gonna stab him so it's gonna be a much more powerful heavy if you charge it up now right here the game wants you to learn how to do stealth if you want to crouch you just need to press l3 and you can crouch if you run up behind an enemy at any time you press r1 you can do a backstab and right here we can do the same thing just lock onto them if you are crouching you can actually move faster by holding circle you can kind of sprint while crouching get behind the enemy press r1 and you can do a backstab now up here this enemy you're meant to break his stance and they kind of want to show you how to do the charge attacks that i talked about before the heavies but we're not going to do that instead what we're going to do is learn about the special attacks which are your ashes of war which i kind of call the weapon arts in this game but to do it we're gonna have to two-hand this weapon because right now since we have the shield our ash of war our special attack is actually the parry to do your art of war our ashes of war you need to press l2 and that's your parry but if we switch to just the sword by two handing so if i hold triangle press r1 i'll two hand now if i hold down l2 i go into this stance now in this stance if i do a light attack i'll do that if i do a heavy attack i'll do this now you'll notice that my focus points go down because this is a special attack it's going to use up my focus points so against this guy i'm going to go into the stance do the heavy and look i knocked the mount right away the game wanted me to charge up my heavy attacks to do that but your special attacks can also really be good there are a lot of really good special attacks and some of them are just incredible now this is actually the real first boss of the game because this is our real tutorial boss and it's very easy that boss be fought a moment ago was really meant to kill you it's not really a boss in my opinion because it's just ridiculous but what we're going to do against this guy we have a lot of options technically we could do this and same with the katana if you're starting as a samurai you have a really cool like move that i'm sure a lot of people are going to like and with that katana you can do the same thing you can actually i think it's like you sheath your weapon and you have a light attack and you also have a heavy attack so if you do this attack against his boss you're gonna knock him down or you can guard counter him either way it's very easy i don't recommend trying to go for parries it's something that you can do but going for parries can be very difficult and especially for a new player it's just something i don't recommend rely more on blocking so i'm going to block and do the guard counter so he's going to hit my shield i'm going to press r2 knock him down and now i can stab him and he's dead that's basically it super easy little beginner boss that we can take out and we are going to have 600 xp which in this game they are called runes so right now we have 600 runes which is our xp that's nice because we're going to be able to buy a couple things from this merchant we're gonna find so now that we've done that we can go ahead and pick up that item which was an emote and now we can open up this door and we're about to actually head towards the open world now in here there's another grace we can touch the grace and then we can go ahead and pick up this item over here and this is going to be a bunch of co-op items the thing that you see right there is actually your summon sign so if you want to play multiplayer you can put down a summon sign and people can summon you now if you have a password only people with the password will be able to see your sign if you don't have a password anyone can see the sign now if you want to summon someone else you're going to need another item so if you have some friends you're trying to play with or something there is another item that you're going to have to get i'm going to explain that in a moment but if you just come right down here this is called a summoning pool so if we touch this that's another one of the co-op items and then we can actually go ahead and touch it and it's functional so if i actually use this one item i can see all the signs right now i can't see anything because i haven't used the item yet i don't even have the item yet so if you come up here there's another grace let's go ahead and hit this and we can actually talk to this guy now he's going to explain something and i'm going to explain it as well which is kind of how this game works for trying to point you in the right direction because the open world can be a little bit overwhelming because you have total freedom you're about to see it now because we're going to go and get overpowered and we're going to be going all over the place it's going to be crazy because you have so much freedom but if you want to actually know where you're supposed to go if you look at this grace you can actually see there's like this fire and it's pointing us in a direction so it's basically pointing us over here now what this is really doing is pointing us to the next grace that we need to find and then eventually it's going to point us to the actual real main area so if we look we can see that night over there don't mess with him and we can see that church so the church is where we need to actually go so we're going to go ahead and hop off and we're going to sprint avoid the night so stick to the left we do not want to aggro him if he attacks us we're just going to run get to the graves and rest if you rest it's going to reset the area and you should be safe now there is an item in front of the church so you might want to go ahead and grab this and then we can run into the church now there's a merchant in here and there's an item now the item is going to be our very first normal spiffing stone you have your standard weapons and then you also have your special weapons in this game now the standard weapons will max out at plus 25 the special weapons will max out at plus 10. in this episode we are going to get a weapon up to plus nine a special weapon which is one off from max by episode 4 we probably will have that weapon maxed that's how crazy this can be and that's why you're going to be so overpowered to start the game now there is an anvil here we can use this to upgrade our starter weapons if we collect some of the normal spiffing stones we can upgrade we're not going to bother with that there's no point but if you want to talk to santa claus over here he is going to be our merchant and you can actually just ask him about himself and you can actually get a recommendation he's going to suggest that you buy the crafting kit which i'm also going to suggest you buy this buy that right away now i'm going to buy the torch now the reason i'm buying this is because i need it for this video you do not need it so if you don't want to buy it don't bother but if you want to buy it you can that's fine okay so if we look again now we can actually see it's pointing us in this direction now if you actually look over here on the map and by the way on the playstation to open up your map you have to hit the touchpad i have no idea on xbox how to do it but you can see this like pillar thing right here so what we can do is we can put a beacon on it to place a beacon you just need to press x and that's it now we have a beacon if we want to remove the beacon if we hover over it and press x we can remove it so i'm going to put a beacon there and i recommend you do the same and now when we look at our compass we can see the beacon so we can follow it and go in that direction so remember what i talked about with openers well now here's the thing these are the real enemies they're going to be aggressive they're going to try to kill you you can block them you can guard counter them but if you want to just deal with them easily you have your openers which what i'm going to do right now is i'm going to run in and do my sprinting attack so i'm just going to do my light attack so i'm gonna sprint i'm gonna press r1 to do a light attack and then i'm just going to follow it up and take this guy out no problem boom easy now the next guy and technically some of these guys you can backstab by just sneaking up on them it's not a problem but i'm not going to do that we're going to do the running jumping r2 that's going to do a lot of damage and it's going to stun them it's going to sound real good so jump r2 now we just do our light attacks and finish him off pick up the item right there and then there's going to be another guy so i'm going to do the same thing running jumping r2 and then i'm just going to finish him off again technically you can backstab him if you like now over here there's going to be this guy with the shield so i'm not going to two hand yes you can two hand and you can spam and you can knock him out of his shield get a critical on him and you always like get your critical by just pressing r1 just like a backstab whenever they break the guard you can just press r1 to do a critical but what i'm going to do is i'm going to block and guard counter him honestly that's one of the easiest things to do so when he shield bashes not a good idea now that was kind of a good example maybe i'll show this again if he does it again come on okay well he did that so i'll just do that but if you are guarding and you take a lot of stamina damage while guarding what you really need to do is you kind of need to back off sometimes that means you can roll away just back off and stop blocking because if you just keep blocking your stamina is going to regenerate really slowly if you're not blocking it's going to regenerate like a lot quicker and then you can just run back in while blocking and just keep blocking okay so in front of us right now we can see that pillar and we can see an item it's purple that is the item we need to get so we're gonna run in there and grab it there are way too many enemies here to fight so we're just gonna grab it and then we're gonna run to the right so i'm gonna show you exactly how to do this we're gonna run forward we're gonna pick up the item it's gonna be the map of this area so now we can see properly avoid the road so instead just jump up here there's a wagon over there but you're gonna be able to see it in the distance there's some golden glow that is another grace that's where we're headed and we're need to rest there when you rest there there's going to be a cut scene and a girl is going to talk to you and she's going to give you the horse whistle so because of what i did the enemies they're not even really on me but you might be getting chased by like 100 guys so you definitely want to get here and you definitely want to rest now after the cut scene you're going to talk to the girl and she's going to give you the horse whistle but also now we can level up now when it comes to leveling up we can't do it right now we don't have enough experience but if you are playing as the wretch you might have enough experience to level up because your only level one is going to cost less to level up the lower level you are and the higher level you get the more and more it's going to cost to level up but the one thing i'll say about leveling up if you're playing as a samurai try to get your strength to 13 and if you're playing as the wretch get your strength to 13 and get your decks to 12. that's really all that matters right now if you're playing as the vagabond i don't even need to level up it really doesn't matter at all for me now before you leave this grace pass some time and you want to make it daytime the reason why is because there are certain bosses that will only come out at night and there will be a boss that will be in our way if we try to pass the area when it's night time so it's better just to make a day so let's go ahead and talk about the horse now once you have the whistle you can call the horse i recommend putting it on the pouch so i'm pressing my start button over here is my pouch i'm going to press triangle and i'm going to put the horse whistle on the pouch put it on any d-pad you want it's up to you but if i want to call the horse now all i have to do is hold triangle and then i can use the d-pad and call the horse now if i want to get off the horse i can do the same thing i can hold triangle and press the d-pad to get off the horse r i can actually just press l3 pressing l3 is the better option almost all the time one of the reasons is if you're moving forward and you press l3 you're going to quickly hop off that's very useful when you're on the horse now i'm calling the horse the movement on the horse is pretty much just like on foot if you hold circle or you're going to sprint if you tap circle though you can kind of get a burst of speed so keep that in mind that's actually kind of useful you can jump with x but with the horse you can actually double jump double jumping is super super good we're going to be able to explore like crazy now and it's because the horse is amazing it really changes the game now if you're on the horse you can attack so it's the same thing if you hit r1 rv hit r2 and do attacks but on the horse if you hit l1 you'll attack to the opposite side and you hit l2 you'll do a heavy attack on the opposite side you can also charge up an attack just like you can normally and you're gonna put your sword down and you're gonna smack now there are these yellow flowers i was talking about crafting and stuff but if you see the yellow flowers it's a good idea to pick them up because we can make the co-op item and i can talk about that so if i see them i'm going to talk about it but there's also these red flowers over here now there is an npc we can actually talk to real quick if you kind of come over here so the grace is just over there right if you come over here you're going to hear someone talking to you there's also an item over here this kind of draws you in a little bit so let's pick up the item and if we look over here there's actually like a bush there and it's kind of off doesn't look right so if we attack it it's going to reveal this monkey and now we can talk to the monkey now a good rule of thumb is talk to the npc until the npc repeats itself and then the npc should actually move to the next location this monkey kind of has a quest it's well it does have a quest but here is something about the series i'm just going to say right now we are not going to mess up any of the quest by doing anything we're doing in this episode it's not going to mess up the quest but what it will do in some cases and the monkey is one of these cases is that there are certain locations that the npc's might move to and if you go to that location at the right time you can talk to it and you can actually get some dialogue where if you're doing what i'm doing some of those things are going to be skipped so the quest will still be complete we'll still be able to completely do it no problem it's not like we're failing it or we're messing it up the only difference is that we're gonna miss some opportunities to get some dialogue from certain npcs that's it okay now i'm gonna run up here and i'm going to go ahead and do an attack actually before i do that let's talk about something if we press our touchpad we can get back into the map i'm going to get rid of that beacon and where we're gonna go is we're gonna go on this bridge down here it's gonna be an item on the bridge right over here there's gonna be another item we're gonna make our way about right here and we're gonna do something over there we're gonna explore but down here there's this like disc right the circle disc i'm gonna put my beacon right there i recommend you do the same because there's gonna be a grace right there that's really where we're headed now when you're on the horse if you do this little charge attack this is really the go-to move charging up your heavy because there's two things about it it makes it easier to hit the enemies first of all and also if you hit them with the sword while it's down like that it's going to hit them twice so i'm trying to show you the example right now hold it down and see how it hit him it hit him even though i didn't actually do the swing yet so if i release it though i can do the swing it's much easier in my opinion to do this and attack the enemies in trying to do this now when you have a faster weapon you can swing it really quick and it's pretty easy to hit the enemies to be honest but a bigger weapon you have a lot more range so it's kind of like whatever okay so up there that's a scare up those are special enemies that can drop things for us some of them are just going to restore our hp potions our fp potion that's it they don't give us any more they just restore the ones that we're missing but if they're silver or if they're white then they're going to give us an ash war our upgrade material if they're gold they're going to drop an incantation which is a faith spell and if they're a certain color blue and this is where it's a little confusing because the fp ones are blue as well they can drop a sorcery intelligence spell so what i'm gonna do i'm gonna run up on the scare up hold my sword down smack them attack them real quick watch out for the enemies come here if you sprint with the horse you can catch up to it and that dropped us ash of war determination that's actually a really good actual war so we're gonna go on the bridge and just tap your triangle button to make sure you pick up the item now we're going to cross the bridge i've talked about this before and we're just avoiding the enemy but if we go to the right there's going to be an item over here we can pick this up this is an important item a summer sniffing stone level one now what we can do is go back to the road the reason why is because we're gonna have that wagon there with the two giants and over here you're gonna see there's some ruins okay so if we actually get close to it we're going to discover it waypoint ruins now what i like to do is put markers on the map i recommend you learn how to do this as well it's very useful when you're in your map if you press square you can actually get to these markers and what i like to do if there's an area that i haven't explored i discovered it but i didn't explore it i put a little sword on there now that's permanent it's going to stay there the whole time until i remove it or if i accidentally remove all markers try not to remove all markers because this can really mess you up you might have 20 or 30 markers all over the place you accidentally click this you'll remove them all it sucks you don't want that to happen but this will remind me later that you know what i need to come back and do that i didn't do that waypoint ruins because once i do do it and i complete it i'm gonna remove it by just simply putting another marker there we'll remove it now i do also use the skull the skull i'll put for maybe some bosses i haven't killed yet in the field and then the other one i use and you can use any one you want the other one i like to use is the jewel and i put this down for merchants because there are merchants where if i haven't bought what they are selling i will go ahead and put that down to remind me that there's a merchant in that location and i need to buy something from them so if you discover these ruins you can see like the little arrowhead looking building if we go behind the building it's going to be some graves and we can rob the grapes so here's one of those yellow orange flowers if you get two of those you can do item crafting and you can make one of the co-op items you need so just run up to these there's some enemies in this location but just pick up all of this these are called golden runes we already picked this up before but what these are these are experience and they will be found in our inventory so if we go into our inventory you can see them here if we click on them we can use them but it's better when you have multiples to use selected don't do this yet though you want to save these because these are useful to pop when you actually need them so over here here's another one of those flowers so now that i have two of the flowers what i can do is go to item crafting and i can make one of these now that is the co-op item i can use that item if i wanted to summon someone to help me in co-op if i want to summon my friend maybe we have a password going and then i can go ahead and summon him if he throws down his sign okay so the road is over there and you can actually see it in the distance where my beacon is there's a grace over there as well so that's where we want to go but before we do that there's some enemies on our right we're going to avoid the enemies and by the way there's really going to be like no combat anymore in this episode a little bit but not much but by doing these double jumps we can actually just jump up these rocks here and kind of just avoid everybody that's what we're trying to do right now now there's another way of getting up here i'm going to talk about that as well but basically i'm just hopping up because what i want to show is how to actually drop down on this wind so up here here's an item we can pick that up and there's going to be another item that's going to be on this rooftop over here so we're just going to jump over here and pick this up now we're trying to get all the items and stuff so that's why that's important that's a scroll it's meant for sorcery we're not using sorcery but we're picking it up anyway if we come over this way we're gonna find this wind somewhere around here let's hop down and once we find it there it is if we jump into it we're not gonna die to fall damage we are immune to gravity so that's very useful if you're trying to jump down somewhere if you see the wind if you're on your horse you can jump into it and you're gonna be fine and you can also use the wind to jump up and show that as well because if you want to get some of those items up there you can just use the wind because if you were just following the road you would have found the grace if you were following the beacon but let me go ahead and get rid of that beacon now and since we got the grace we're going to go ahead and head back to the road and i'm going to show this again just so you can see if you find this wind you need to have your horse like stand in it now wherever you're aiming you're going to jump up so make sure you're aiming towards where you want to jump up and you just need to double jump and you're going to jump way high you're not going to die to fall damage and like i said if you want to jump back down just find the wind and jump into it as long as you touch it that's all that matters and you're good now if you're following the road you're gonna see a bridge up there ignore that we're not trying to cross that right now instead we're gonna make a left now i'm gonna put a beacon on the map it's really not needed to be honest but there's a road over here and right here we're gonna put our beacon but once we kind of go up this hill you're gonna see there's gonna be a fort in the distance that's where we're going now once we come down this way there's also going to be a ton of graves some more we can loot the difference is over here there's going to be more enemies so we need to be kind of quick about picking up the items but on the horse it is so easy to avoid enemies it really is you can always double jump to try to get away and you can just easily avoid enemies by just having the mobility of being on the horse so i'm just picking up all these items over here if you do get hit while on the horse if you get hit too many times you're gonna get knocked off the horse the horse can also die you can revive the horse when it dies don't worry about that but anytime you get knocked off the horse or if your horse dies you're gonna potentially get hit for some damage now we drop down here to this beach there's another item down here we can pick up avoid that giant octopus thing and what we're gonna do is we are gonna just jump up here and before we head into the fort there's a grace right on the outside you can see the gold over here we're going to come over here and i'm going to press l3 to quickly jump off the horse and i'm going to light the grace so if i die or anything i don't really care about my runes right now i wouldn't care if i was you either about your xp i'm gonna be telling you when you should be popping your xp and stuff but we are going to now go up this road there's going to be all this like spikes just on the horse just be quick okay we're just going to run over here you're going to see a golden tree if you go up to it you can get a golden seed which can give us another potion so there's a staircase if we just take the horse you can just double jump over here and when you hit this it's going to kick you off the horse now if you want to block you can block and run but we're running through here we're not fighting just going to run all the way up the stairs watch out if you buy exploding barrels if they're throwing firebombs at you it can be a problem but just run right past that enemy there's a ladder over here you have to hit triangle to climb ow and if you hold circle you can climb faster that was not meant to happen right there i kind of got lucky but again if i died it's not a big deal the grace is right there but like i said if you hold circle you can climb a lot faster okay let's grab the item and if we're quick we can go ahead and pull up our map and we can fast travel those enemies would have chased me up that ladder so you want to be quick about pulling up your map so you can get out of there now just like how you can climb ladders faster by holding circle you can also slide down ladders by when you're going down if you just like hold down on the left stick and circle you'll slide down the ladder now let's open up our map and here's another one of those pillars we can go ahead and put our beacon there now before we go over there though because we're gonna follow the road it's important that we actually follow the road here but before we do that if you just kind of go a little bit to the right you're going to see a campfire and there's going to be a merchant so i'm not going to talk to him he's going to be selling some of the crafting schematics and those are important to buy if you're trying to like be able to craft everything so i'm just going to go ahead and put my jewel here this way i'm going to be reminded later oh wait there's a merch in there i should probably go and buy what he's selling once i'm like happy with what i bought from him i will remove the marker so now here's the road we're gonna follow the road and we are going to find another one of these ruins now the reason why this one is important though is because there's a guy here an npc and when you come over here you're going to hear some howling like a wolf well it's actually the guy you can kind of see him now let me try to show you him he's just up there okay and you're going to hear him you won't hear him in the video because i have no dialogue but if you're playing you will be hearing him that's all you need to do right now is just hear him howling now there is a giant bear over there don't mess with that that thing will murder you but over here this is the map let's pick it up and just east of the map there's this like giant thing we can actually go ahead and walk in here and discover it this is a river well so we're gonna actually go down there now i was talking about these scarabs before let me actually chuck some potions if you are exploring and you're using up your potions and you see one of these the orange ones or red ones whatever they are if you run up to them and take them out it's gonna restore your potions so that's what that one does like i already talked about with the colors and stuff the only confusing one can be the blue ones because blue can be either the fp and it's a different color blue but there are ones that can drop sorceries now over here there is an item we're gonna pick this up just because we can maybe use it for now but if we actually look on the map there's this tree that's where we are and we also have that river well over here as well don't worry about these scare ups there is one real scare up in the area but just don't worry about it right now because they're not gonna be dropping you ashes of war or anything like that there's only one there is one in the area but i'll show that later so what we're going to do is we're going to ride this elevator down we're not fighting anything down here the enemies down here are op we do not want to fight them this is an area that we will explore later and this area is epic this is the underground it is massive and it is beautiful but it is hard at least for now it's going to be difficult so we're not going to mess with it but the reason we're coming down here and i mean just look at that you're going to see it in a second we're coming down here to get a grace and there are a couple items we can just grab and we don't even have to come in contact with any of the enemies but i mean look at that ain't that something i mean this place is just epic it really is and this is a very very long elevator but we're not gonna actually ride it back up we're just gonna fast travel so we're just taking this down because we discovered those ruins and we seen that guy who was howling now we're gonna get an option with that first merchant at that church we can ask him about it so that's where we're going next okay now that we're down here we can light the grace and we can grab a couple items down here now there's a ton of items and technically it's really easy to run past all these enemies and grab these items i'm not going to do it because i'm not going to put you guys at risk i'm just not going to do that but there are a couple items that are super easy to grab and you can actually use your horse down here so call your horse makes it really easy to avoid the enemies and grab stuff is when you have your horse trust me now there's a flower over here we can pick this up that's actually kind of good let's pick that flower up but over here that's another one of those remedies so if i use that item i can summon people and now we're pretty much done that's all we wanted from here and we're gonna pull up the map now when you look at the map you're like oh my god what happened like what's this about it's all dark well you're in the underground that's why if you want to cycle between the underground and the normal map just click r3 and there you go now that's normal map if you look here there's no grace but if i want to go back to the underground and travel to a grace if i just press r3 boom there's my grace i can fast travel to that so now what we're going to do is we are going to go ahead and go over to this church now real quick i'm going to talk about this because check this out this is something from their update and i love this so far they are now putting on the map where the npcs are that is a big help i'm telling you right now that's a huge help so basically remember the guy i was talking about well it's telling me that he's there that's really really cool it makes it so much easier not to miss stuff like that okay so now we're going to go back to this church we need to talk to this merchant but we're also going to get something else here so i'm going to cut this ahead i'm going to see you guys in a moment now the moment that you come back to this church one thing is that it's going to be night and another thing is that there's this girl here that we can go and talk to so go and talk to her and you want to pretty much pick the first option that's normally always the best choice by the way is the first option and she's going to give us our spirit calling bell and our very first summon so you can talk to her again and she's going to disappear and i'm going to make a daytime i'm going to make a daytime because for the video's sake i don't want it to be dark because when it's dark it might be hard to see but if you want to leave at night it's not a problem the bosses that are at night we don't have to worry about them right now we're not going anywhere we're gonna encounter them but now we got our first summon so you also need the bell but the bell you're not gonna like equip it or anything like that but the first summon they give you are these wolves these are very good by the way really good summon to start the game so what i like to do is actually equipped it on my hot bar now the reason why is because when you summon that's it you summon it you're done switch back to your potion you don't need to like pull this out again and summon again it's not a problem so i like to keep it there i don't bother putting on the pouch or anything like that but now we can actually go and talk to santa claus again and we can ask him about the howling in miss wood and he's going to give us an emote so thank you very much we need that so that we can actually have that guy come down to us that's how we're going to get his attention he's going to drop down and then we can go ahead and actually talk to him so to equip the emote if we press our start button and we go over here we can press triangle and equipped it we're looking for the finger snap there we go and now we are pretty much done now to do your summon you can't just do it anytime right if i try to do it it's not going to work you have to wait for an icon to appear on the screen i'm not to show you that in a second here but we're going back here so i'm going to put a beacon and we're going to fast travel to the ford again and then we're good it's going to follow the road and we'll get there no problem once we get over there i'm going to be able to summon so i can actually show you what it looks like the little icon normally the summons are really reserved for boss battles the summons are actually pretty awesome and kind of overpowered because they're going to help you distract the enemy it's kind of like having a co-op partner in a way you can't use the summons if you are in co-op though if you're playing with another player you can't use it so over here if you look above where it says parry you can see that like doorway now the doorway indicates that i can actually summon so if i select my summon right and then i press square to use it i can pull them out now i'm gonna get rid of them because i don't need them right now but once you summon you're good switch back to your healing potion and you don't need to do anything but i'm gonna get rid of them because i'm gonna go ahead and sneak there's that giant bear we do not want to attack the bear and by the way when you do actually use your summon it will use up your fp so let's come inside and we're looking for a couple items we're just trying to get done with this area so that we don't have to come back here there's also going to be a chest in here so let's find the chest it's right here open this up and this is going to be another normal spiffing stone but it's a level two version of it and now we can see the guy up there and if we press our start button we can go over to our emotes fingers snap and he's gonna jump down so we can go in find him and talk to him i believe we need to jump over right here and we can just run up now he's gonna tell us and this is our very first real side quest we're doing so he's gonna tell us he's looking for a guy and we're going to go and fight that guy it is a boss battle but that npc is so strong and overpowered that we're really not going to have any problem at all so now we want to sneak past the bear before we leave here and you want to come from this side don't try to do this from the other side because if you touch the bear the bear is going to wake up but if you crouch you can pretty much just go ahead and get to the staircase you're not going to wake the bear up run down here and you can go ahead and open up the door and there's going to be chest and this is gonna be our very first talisman now we're not gonna really use it but i will equipped it real quick just to show you in our equipment underneath our armor we have our talisman slots these do have weight always be mindful of your equipment load always look at it make sure that you're not in the heavy load that's the thing i see new players all the time they have this problem they get into heavy load and then they start fat rolling and it gets you killed it really will so try to avoid that at all cost now what we're going to do is we're going to get rid of the beacon and we're going to fast travel back here to the lake south remember this disk circle now we're going down there because that's where the boss is going to be and we're going to be able to summon that npc you do not need to use any co-op item for this it's not like you need to use one of the remedies or anything like that so don't worry about it so let's get on our horse and we're going gonna ride to our beacon and then we're gonna go inside this area once we're in there we're gonna be able to summon this npc now this is a good opportunity to kind of talk about co-op and how co-op makes the game a lot easier the reason why is because if you play it right then what you can do is you can attack the boss when you attack the boss the boss is going to try to attack you so once you attack the boss you can play defensive either by blocking or rolling and then your summon if it's a real person or the npc can run in and hit the boss when they hit the boss the boss is going to now try to attack them so gives me the opportunity to get some free attacks in and then you just keep taking turns doing that it's very useful so just walk over here and you can summon this guy now what we can do is when we're fighting the boss we can run up on them when the boss is trying to attack the npc we can easily just run up on them do a couple attacks maybe like three at the most and then we can just be defensive and back away r if you want you can whole triangle press r one to two hand and if we hold l2 we can actually do this now we can't use our shield while we're doing this so we're gonna have to try to roll away anytime you attack the boss the boss is gonna get on you but if you do your heavy attack while in the stance it's gonna do a lot of damage i mean a lot so let me show you do that i mean look at that damage it's nice but if i roll away i can now make the mpc try to do some damage so the boss is not going to attack me i mean look at this npc this npc will wreck this guy so boom now i get a free attack off and i can roll away should be able to get another free attack off very very easy and again boom super easy fight because we have a co-op summon but we're gonna get the bloodhounds fang that is going to be our weapon for this play through that weapon is amazing i love it it is mainly a dexterity weapon but it scales really well with strength as well so the plan for this build will be to actually have 30 strength that's what we're going to try to shoot for and with 30 strength we're going to be able to wield a great shield as well so we are going to be super super defensive and we're going gonna have a very powerful weapon so now you can go ahead and talk to him and if you do that he's gonna reward you with a somber sniffing stone level two which is awesome because we can actually use that so if you want to level up with the xp you have right now you can remember what i said about leveling up if you're the samurai you need to get your strength to 13 if you're the wretch you need to get your strength 13 you need to get your decks to 12. it's up to you r you can improve the weapon now there's really no reason to improve it right now but just because why not let's go do it so if we go back to this church we can actually upgrade the weapon a little bit so i'm going to take my xp because as the vega bond i do not need to level up at all but if you're trying to level up then you can go ahead and do that so if we go to use this we can strengthen our weapon now we don't have it equipped so and the reason why is because i actually cannot use it yet i will be very soon and you will as well if you have the right stats that i'm talking about remember 13 strength and 12 decks that's all you need and you're going to be able to wield this i can't yet though but i can go ahead and strengthen it so i'm going to do that now i'm going to select it and i'm going to get it to level two now real quick i'm going to go ahead and now head back to the fort and we are going to go to a structure up here now you can see these structures on your map when you look at them you're like hmm that's a structure look up here that's definitely something right up here again that's something you have the tree okay there's a tree there what's this well that's a tunnel so you can see these things on the map before you ever discover them but we're gonna put a beacon right there on that and then there's this structure we're gonna put a beacon right here there's gonna be a grace there so i'm going to travel back to the fort and we're going to go there now on the way i'm going to grab an item pretty much i'm going to grab a couple items on the road just to get them one of them is by that giant bear so it's a little bit risky but i also want to talk about something real quick i originally started this series and i was going to use a different weapon in my opinion i think one of the best weapons for a new players is a straight sword straight swords are super good they're very good with shields and i definitely believe that shields are very important for a new player but the straight sword that i was going to have people use got really nerfed in the latest patch i knew they were going to nerf it i just didn't realize it was going to be that bad i mean i really feel like they gutted it badly there's an item right here let's pick that up also remember by the bear there's an item so let's just grab that and go so grab that and just start going and follow the beacon at this point and you should be okay just keep moving and you will make it to the church and you'll be fine that candle thing over there if you're oh okay that candle thing over there if you're wondering what that is there are a lot of things in the game that are going to give you hints and that's one of the things that will give you a hint if you interact with it a ghost is going to appear and lead you to a dungeon that's what it does and there are many things in the game that's going to just lead you to different places to help you discover them if you're following the guide you probably won't need to bother with that also if you ever walk over one of these wave points or beacons it will disappear so that's something you can do to get rid of it if you don't want to do it with the map pick up that that's our first sacred tier pick up this this is going to be our mixed potion the mixed potion is going to give us buffs it's very good so like the grace and by the way when you're in any of these churches including that first one where that merchant was you can talk to your girl your maiden and you can get some lore just talk to her you know to see what she has to say now what i'm going to do is i'm going to go to my flask and i'm going to go ahead and improve it so i can go ahead and get another charge because we had that golden seed and i can increase the amount of health that it will recover by using the sacred tier so now when we look at it it's gonna say plus one we can go here this is our mix potion and we can go ahead and put a couple things in here we're going to put this one restores half of our total hp and we're also going to put this which is going to temporarily boost our stamina now with the mixed potion that's another item that i don't recommend putting down here i recommend putting it in the pouch so i'm going to do that right now i'm going to put it in the pouch so now when i hold triangle i have my fp potion i have my horse whistle and i have my mix potion the mixed potion is going to give us buffs mainly the stamina buff that we have right now is going to last for quite a while like three minutes it's pretty good so that's something that you definitely should eventually use because we're going to get some really good effects for our mixed potion but now that we're done all that we can go ahead and walk out the front of the church and if we go to our right we can actually go up this hill and we can make our way to other beacon so like i was saying i think the straight sword is one of the best weapons for a new player and the one that i was going to use got really nerfed and to be honest with you i'm kind of glad because that is taking me away from the sword for the series now there's a scare up here so make sure you kill the scarab right upon it come on there we go and we're gonna take the wind up we're gonna do this twice so take the win up here it's going to be some doggos up here avoid them just double jump up the rock and now we can take the win again if you miss your jump here a little bit you can use the other wind there but if you jump up here you should be fine and now we're gonna cut through this area this is called summon water village and we're gonna get to the grace but i'm actually happy the sword got nerfed because if you guys were gonna use the sword it really doesn't teach you anything it's the same thing with using powerful spells now spells can be really good but also really not great for a brand new player because it can be difficult to play with spells because you're kind of a glass cannon you're gonna die a lot playing with melee is really gonna teach you how to play the game properly even if you're using a shield even if you're like doing all types of crazy stuff to be op you're still going to learn the game a lot better playing melee than you are if you're going to play with some cheesy thing like that sword that sword was basically able to use its ash of war which was a special attack and it was so powerful it could one shot like every one of these bosses it still is really good i played with it i tried it i still think it's very very good it's just not nearly as good and because of that i just don't want to use it for the series and like i said i'm happy because i think to be honest it wouldn't really teach you guys how to play the game proper it's really overpowered but it's not going to teach you anything i'm pulling up the map and basically there's a structure here avoid this it's another church don't go in there you might be tempted don't do it but where we're gonna go is we're gonna put a beacon over here in the fog it really doesn't matter where you put it even if you put it up here it's fine but just put it somewhere over here and we're gonna follow that because where we're going we're going to this like red area this area is dangerous it really is you do not want to get hit by any of the enemies over here so we're going to avoid them at all costs so basically let's just ride there's the church over there don't go over there what's going to happen is an npc invader is going to try to kill you now other players can invade you and kill you with pvp but npcs can do the same and that particular npc is pretty strong at this point of the game so you really don't want to mess with it so we're going to jump up over that like lava thing and there's a grace right here let's go ahead and hop off light the grace and you can already see this place is pretty crazy i mean look at the bird that's a big bird okay and if we actually come over to this spot there is a shack there is an enemy in this shack so watch out just go ahead and grab the item and now just exit and you can avoid the enemy it's a zombie i just showed you let's hop on the horse and we need to head towards the beacon but before we do that we can actually come over this way to these rocks and we can actually jump over the rocks and just right over here check this out there's some more graves and there's no enemies around so we just pick up all this stuff well i guess there is that enemy but that enemy doesn't really matter much slowpoke okay i think we got everything always double check just make sure you got all the stuff and now we can just go ahead and head back to where the shack was and we're going to try to go towards where the wave point is now i'm going to show you basically like what you want to do because there is a road you can follow the road but we need to go off-road at some point because if you don't there's some really dangerous enemies really really dangerous enemies so there's a ton of zombies on the road right there they're not really a big problem though but if we go off road over here jump on these rocks look at that over there giant dogs my god not good there's a scarab down there and that is one of the gold ones i was talking about they will drop incantations we're not gonna mess with that because we don't need it right now and we don't care so instead we're just gonna kind of go this way where we're heading is to a grace now once you're over on this side of the map if you rest at the grace you're going to be taken to the round table which is the hub area so anytime you rest at the grace it's going to automatically take you there because the way that it triggers to take you there is you have to basically get past the first area so the first area is like pretty much all this down here and all of this if you go up here or if you go over here it's going to trigger the moment where you can go to the round table for the first time so i'm gonna hop on the horse there are some more graves over here but we need to be careful if we're following the wave point which would be kind of forward we need to make a jump and that's where we need to go there's another grace like right over there now like i said there are going to be some graves but there are those enemies so we kind of want to be careful let's stick to the left to try to avoid that giant dog and hopefully he won't okay he's seen us if we're quick we can grab this stuff grab this stuff quickly okay don't want that giant dog catching up to us i'm not running or anything i think we're good actually i don't think the dog's seen us so if you stick to the left you should be okay i believe i picked everything up but this is what i was talking about you need to jump over here and there is another grace here so again if i rest here what's going to happen is i'm going to actually be taken to the round table which i'm not going to bother with right now maybe i should because i can't use my map okay well anyway there is a giant tower there that's important we can use that as a landmark and soon here it should let me use my map because when you're in combat you can't use the map but you can get out of combat by just getting away from the enemies it really doesn't want me to use it i wanted to show you like where the beacon is for the map or the pillar for the map is but it's literally right here so just follow the road from that grace you're gonna find the map no problem it's right there and where we're gonna go now i still can't open my map but where we're gonna go is we're gonna go towards the giant tower now if you try to lock on when you get a little close you're gonna see there's a scarab over here now you can actually hop off your horse i recommend two handing so whole triangle r1 and we're going to attack this thing it's really tough and when you kill it it's going to explode so run away from it when you kill it don't be close to it so just attack it it's really not going to get away from you just keep attacking it and i want to get it to a point where i can actually hit it with the weapon arm the weapon aren't gonna do a lot of damage just the heavy attack oh my god oh that works okay well once he dies and explodes you're gonna get the somber smithing stone level 8 which is a huge upgrade it's massive now we can hop on the horse we're going to keep going towards the tower there is a branch right here you can just simply walk off and hit the branch now i'm going to kind of stand right here you can jump to that other branch it can be a little tricky though so what i recommend is actually jumping down to that ledge it's really easy so just jump and then do your double jump so you can land on the ledge so i'm going to jump do my double jump i landed on the branch by the ledge and i can walk off to the ledge we're coming over here and there's another branch right there you can simply jump or just walk off right here you might take a little damage but you're gonna be okay by the way if your horse takes damage you can heal the horse by using your potions which is pretty cool so just go ahead and hop on down and there's a ton of items over here i mean a ton of items just pick them all up but what we got there was a somber smithing stone level 9 which is crazy so now i'm gonna fast travel back to this place and then we're gonna go to this other location now if you wanna rest and go to the round table you can although there is something about the round table i want to talk about so you know what i'm just going to do it now i'm going to rest here and we're going to be taken to the round table alrighty well i'm in the round table hold right now and if you want to talk to all these npcs you can but there is one npc i do not recommend you talking to it's going to be this girl she's going to be in this room over here if you talk to her she's going to give you a debuff and it's going to lower your health now we can get rid of it but we really don't want to do it yet because by the end of this episode we will be able to progress her quest and if you're going to talk to her just wait until you're able to actually do her quest now over here if you want to change the way you look maybe you don't like the way you look you can actually use this and you can change your cosmetic basically your appearance which is really cool now like i said you can talk to all the npcs the problem with the one though is that this guy right here we need to do his quest before we actually do her quest so in the next episode we will be doing that and then we will progress her quest basically now this guy over here you do want to talk to him because in this episode we will be finding his second location and just get the information from him now the patch notes that came out for this game recently said that they added more steps to his quest which i have no idea what that's about over here you might want to explore do not jump down there if you jump down there you're going to die trust me it's not good there is a merchant in here and we're going to go to the merchant there's also this like edgy guy sitting here so you can talk to him he doesn't speak but wait a second and he's going to give you an emote so that's pretty cool now the merchant is this ugly thing sitting over here so we're going to buy something it's going to cost 1 000 runes right now i have 286 but we've been picking up all these consumables so if i want to use them i can just hit my start button go to my inventory find all the golden runes and we need 800 runes now the golden rune one will give you 200 for each one and the golden rune 2 will give you 400 for each one so i'm gonna you select it and i'm going to use two of these and that's going to give me 800 and if you need it more you can always just pop one of these and that will give you 200 and that would equal 1 000. so let's go ahead and talk to this thing and we're going to buy the white cypress ring now the reason we're buying this is because if you do plan on summoning people and doing co-op when you summon them if you have this thing active then what will happen is if other players will try to invade you and they will try to do pvp they will be red they will try to kill you if you activate this thing then blue hunter players can come in to try to help you it's very nice now once you activate that it's going to stay on for the rest of your play through if you want to turn it off you just have to use the item again and that's basically it so it's very useful especially if you're going to be doing co-op if you're playing solo and you're not going to do any co-op at all you really don't have to worry about it it's not a big deal so we're going to go back here now and then we're going to make our way to the second fort we already been to one fort and while we were at that fort i didn't bring it up but we did get a piece of a medallion and we needed that so right now it's night time i'm gonna make a day just so that it's gonna be easier to see but we're gonna get the second piece of this medallion here and we're also going to get a legendary talisman this talisman is super super good it's going to give us 20 levels i mean that's amazing it's also going to allow us to actually wield our weapon so where we need to go is if you look at the tree here down here there's a structure so i'm gonna put my beacon there and we're going to basically go over in that direction you can see it now it's a fort it's all the way over there there's several dragons along the way and there are gonna be a couple items over in this water you can pick these up it should be safe so just pick up one pick up the other one there's another one behind this dragon but these dragons they will attack you but they take a good second before they actually try to attack you so it's pretty safe to pick up the items so we're gonna head towards the beacon and along the way we're gonna pass a giant ancient grand paul dragon now this dragon we can kill it we're going to be able to kill it with no problem at all we're just going to sit behind it and we're going to bleed it to death and it's going to give us a ton of experience now we're not going to do that yet we're going to save that because we will be dying from now on there's gonna be a couple points where we're gonna die and in fact you're probably gonna die in here because to get this legendary talisman you're probably gonna die trying to get it but once you have it you're good you don't have to worry about it and you don't need to recover but that also means that you don't want to have any runes right now so 86 runes that's nothing i don't care about that i die i die it doesn't matter so i'm going to equip the torch you don't probably need the torch but i have it because i want to show exactly how to do this and how to make this one jump but if we come up to the doorway you can actually see that there is an orange item it's the legendary talisman and we need to get the medallion first getting the medallion is very easy though we're just going to run in make a left and just run for it we're going to run up some steps and we're going to go up a ladder so there's bats in here watch out just try to run past everything get to the ladder start to climb hold circle to climb faster if you do get poison it doesn't really matter you're going to take some damage from it but we're going to be very quick here so the poison's not going to kill you get up to the top of the ladder and now there's a chest we can open this and this is going to be the other piece of the medallion so now we have both pieces if we come over here you can see where my beacon is there's a hole ignore that hole you see the second hole over there with the ladder that's where we're gonna go so there's gonna be some enemies i made sure i healed up before i jumped down here because i was poisoned now i'm just gonna run past and we're going to get to that second hole we're going to drop down now over here where these pots are i'm going to show you real quick there is a jump we can make it's right over there now watch out there's a wrap so i'm going to try to avoid the rat if you're very quick about it you can just simply just jump you might need to sprint before you do the jump once you're here you're actually safe for the most part if you want to summon your dogs you can do that they can maybe distract a little bit but we're going to hug this left wall over here and we should be able to avoid the giant rat you will be able to roll as well if you need to and let's pick up the item once you have the item you're basically good the dogs can cause a distraction for you a little bit so that you can try to go up the ladder and get out of here but the chance of you making it out of here is really low because we still have to basically get through all the bats now if you hop down here and you roll and just keep rolling you may be able to get through the front door and get out of here but if you die you die it doesn't really matter don't try to even go back to recover it's not a big deal but i was able to get out of there so now i'm going to go ahead and unequip the torch and i'm going to equip my weapon i got earlier now weapons require attributes to equip this one if you want to one hand it you can two-handed with lower strength but if you want to one-hand it you need 18 strength and 17 dexterity so if i equipped it i don't have the stats for it it has a little red x on it that means i don't have the stats i'm not going to do any damage with it but this talisman is insane it's gonna give us five vigor five endurance five strength five dexterity that's why you wanna get your strength up to 13 on the samurai and on the wretch and you want to get your decks on the wretch of 12 because when you equip this now we actually have the stats to wield this weapon so that is really cool now make sure you check your equipment load always check that make sure it's in the mid load because this thing will boost my endurance i should be okay your equipment load will go up because you get five endurance off of this but the main reason why this weapon is so good is because it's just a great weapon it also has bleed on it so we're going to be able to use this weapon to actually kill this dragon and this is actually the spot where we're going to go to kill the dragon but remember we don't want to do that right now it's not important we're going to save it because we will definitely be dying again in this episode so what we're going to do real quick before we leave we're going to go to the other side of this fence i can show you on the map we're basically going down this way but you want to get to where these cliffs are and what we're looking for is some wind you see the wind over there just jump up with the horse and we're gonna drop down where the wind is so that we don't take any fall damage so just drop down where the wind is and we are good now in the distance you can see there's a church so that's where we're going to go we're going to head over to the church you do not want to go in the front door of the church i'm going to show you in a second but there's enemies and those enemies will absolutely destroy you but you can go in the back so you see those enemies over there we don't want to go in the front so instead we're going to go in the back there is a grace over here and there is an npc don't worry about talking to the npc it's full request line it's much later we will be doing it but if you want to talk to her you can it's okay but i'm gonna hop off the horse we just got another sacred tier so we can actually use that to improve the strength of our potion so let me go ahead and rest here and i'm going to go ahead and do that real quick use that now our potion is at plus two and now we are going to fast travel back all the way back to this lake north this is where we're gonna go and i'm gonna cut this ahead and i'm gonna see you guys in a moment alrighty now from here where we're gonna go is we're gonna pass through here we're gonna go up this way and we're gonna stop right around here there's gonna be a shack so let's get on our horse and let's not take the main road because if you do there's all those enemies on the road so instead just kind of go over here a little bit to the right and you're going to be pretty much totally safe over here there is a grace that we need to get because this is going to be a little farming spot we will be farming these enemies a little bit later to try to get their shield some of these enemies can drop a shield it's called the brass shield and that shield is amazing for the beginning of the game it's really really good and it's worth farming for so we will be coming back now we come in here you can see that giant up there there's also a couple items you want to basically let the giant jump down so once he lands we can just rush and get the items so tap triangle to make sure you grab the items okay and now we're just gonna go for it there will be a golden seed coming up so we're gonna pick that up as well and on the road there will be a bunch of wolves so basically we're going to try to avoid them we just don't want them annoying us so here is the golden seed let's pick that up go a little bit to the right and we can just jump up these rocks by doing this we will avoid all of the doggos so just come over here jump up and there's a grace let's hop off hit the grace there's an item right there let's grab that and there's also an mpc over here that we want to talk to make sure you talk to her over and over again until she repeats herself pretty much i believe you have to talk to her three times she's gonna give you a summon as well and this is an example of the quest line not messing up but being a little different depending on what you're doing so because we are going to these other areas she is going to automatically just go to the round table now to get her to go to the round table normally what she wants you to do is go and find an item for her and bring it back to her and the quest does not change in any way if you're doing it the way i'm doing it but the item is in the first castle we don't want to go there right away we just don't we want to do this other stuff we're going to save this castle for like later after we do every dungeon and everything in this area in this area then we'll come and actually do this main castle but if you do find the item you can give it to her and that's basically it the outcome is exactly the same but if you do come up here or if you explore over here that's gonna trigger her to move to the round table automatically but you're still going to get all the same rewards now before we go forward where we're going is actually on this bridge right here so just put a beacon there and we're going to have to cut through all these trees and there's going to be some bushes and stuff so let's just go ahead and get past it but eventually you're gonna hit another road and then you'll see the bridge so basically just travel this way and there is the road and there is the bridge so there are these npcs these fingers you can talk to them they're really there just to give you tips though like many things in the game there are tips that you can get to help you discover secrets and stuff like that so there is an item right here let's go ahead and pick it up and where we need to go is actually over there towards those rocks before we actually go there if we just go straight and then off over here there's a scarab let's kill this scare up and it's gonna drop us another ash of war so thank you very much now we can go back up this way and we can cut through over here now there's going to be some wolves just avoid them keep going and eventually we're going to hit a grace so that's the plan right now and this is going to take us to another side of the map and we will be going into one of the main castles coming up but we're not actually doing anything there we're just getting a couple items that we need to make our build complete by the end of this first episode we're gonna have an extremely overpowered beginning build and it's just going to get better and better from there the more we play especially as you level up it's going to be crazy strong so let's just come this way and eventually you will see this grace so there's the grace let's go ahead and come over to it and we can hop off and we can hit it there's also a church right there so let's go ahead and go over to that church get on the horse there's also an npc now he's gonna want you to donate some runes which are the experience he only wants 10 though so if you want to talk to him go ahead and do it now and you can also talk to him he's going to explain a little bit about this upcoming area mainly about these keys that we need to get and for his quest line he wants you to bring him one of those keys but you have to get one key to actually get into the castle so once you get the second key you can bring it to him and that's basically the end of his questline so let's go ahead and just talk to him ask him about the key and if you want to buy anything from him don't do it now you can do it later but he's going to sell some sorceries we're not using sorceries but if you're trying to like 100 and get everything maybe you think you might want to reset the build or something like that then you might want to buy all the sorceries okay so we got another sacred tier we can use that later let's hop on the horse and we want to go down that way but i'm going to show you on the map right now there's another one of these pillars that's where we're going we're going to put a beacon where that pillar is that's where the next map is but let's come over to the cemetery real quick just to grab this one item it's going to be another one of these scrolls let's pick that up that's for sorceries and now we're just going to get out of here we're not going to fight any of the skeletons we're just coming down this way now and there's gonna be like some enemies in a camp now there is two items in this camp one is very easy to get just ride past and grab it and go the other one is hidden behind some like barrels and stuff but the item is pretty pointless it's a crafty material you get a ton of these so don't worry about it so just come over here grab this item the other items over there behind that area but you see how the enemies are trying to kill me you don't want to like really sit around trying to get that item you'll probably die so over here there's a grace let's hop off the horse we can hit the grace and there's another merchant now this merchant we are going to talk to and we are going to buy something from him we need 1800 runes so let's go ahead and pop some more of these now if you remember these are worth 400 so if i use four of them that's going to put me up to hundred if i use one of the golden rune one that's gonna be worth 200 that's going to put me up to 1800 so let's go ahead and talk to him and what we're going to buy from him is the lantern the lantern is much better than the torch i'm going to show you why but he is selling one of these cookbooks so i'm going to want to buy that and because of that i'm going to put i'm going to zoom in first i'm going to put a marker here a little jewel so i remember okay i need to come back and talk to that guy now the lantern is the final thing i like to put on my pouch so if you go over to your pouch you can go ahead and put the lantern up here and what's nice about the lantern is when you turn it on you're gonna get some light but you do not actually have to unequip one of your weapons to use a torch you have to basically not use your shield or you have to like unequip the weapon it's something you just don't want to do trust me the lantern is much much better okay so we're going to come over this way and i call this the water road now the map coming up is a little bit trolly there's gonna be enemies surrounding the map don't just try to bum rush it you want to lure the enemies away from the map a lot of times people are trolls and they will put a message by the map that way when you try to grab it you read the message instead so watch out for that luckily for me i don't see any of the troll messages right now so i was able to lure them away and grab the map so continuing going down the water road there's a horse guy right there and another enemy go past this and if you look a little bit to the right you can see the grace there let's go ahead and hop off and actually rest there that way we will de-aggro all those enemies that we triggered and we should be pretty much good although i got hit when i rested okay that's cool grab this item here the cookbook and if we look from the grace it's kind of hard to tell because it's foggy but there is a structure right in front of us that's where we're going so let's go ahead and hop on the horse we're just going to ride right over to it there's going to be a teleporter make sure you select yes watch out for these enemies we're just going to hop off quickly with l3 click on this we're going to say yes and this is going to teleport us to another point of the map but what's really nice about this is that this is actually the front of the castle we're trying to get to so we just skipped a ton of stuff and that's going to save us a lot of time so hit the grace and now you can come up here there is an item now this item is meant to help us find the key to open up this door but if you're watching the guide you don't need to worry about that so because it is so foggy i think i'm going to go ahead and rest but what you want to do first is go ahead and put a beacon on this pillar here and that's going to be our next map it is so foggy right now though i just want you guys to be able to see properly i'm going to pass some time and i'm going to make it hopefully not so foggy i don't know why it's so bad maybe because it's morning there we go that's much better much easier to see now so let's get on the horse and we are going to come down here and make sure you watch out for all these enemies it's very easy though just go ahead and just jump over them and just keep moving they're not going to hit you watch out for that thing grab this item right here we're making a left so that we can come down these steps there is another item there but don't worry about that we will be coming back here so just go ahead and jump over now head towards the beacon i have two right now because i didn't get rid of the first one but just over here you're gonna see a golden seed by the golden tree so pick that up and now we're going to just kind of ride over towards the beacon there's some enemies so watch out for them but just keep moving you should be fine and i'm pretty sure you can see the number by your beacon so you see one that was my first one two that's my second one so i know that two is the right one so that's a little helpful tip when you're putting multiple beacons down okay so right over here there's a grace and this is where the map is so let's go ahead and pick this up and let's go ahead and hit the grace and now i'm gonna get rid of both of these beacons because otherwise it's gonna be confusing so let's get rid of that one come down here get rid of that one and now where we're gonna go is we're gonna see this the academy gate town little icon we're going to put a beacon right there and this thing which i think looks like a boob we're going to go ahead and put a beacon there on the boobie all right so go ahead and get on your horse basically from this grace we're really just going north that's it but remember that guy talked about at the round table hold and i said that we were going to find his second location well this is his second location so we just come over here we're gonna find this guy and you can talk to him and he's gonna go back to the round table and you can talk to him again i don't know what they did about his quest they said that they added more steps to it or they added more to it so i hope they did because to be honest with you i thought his quest was kind of pointless in a lot of ways his quest was just more or less go to this place and that was it so i hope there's going to be more to it but now that we've talked to him he will go back to the round table and you can talk to him again and i'll figure out about his quest but now we're going to our second beacon and it's another one of these things and guess what's in here another teleporter so we're gonna go ahead and hop off and we're gonna hit this teleport say yes and this is gonna take us to a location that we're gonna get the final map of this area so we already have all the maps of this lake area which is really nice so pick up the map and now you're going to see some runes in front of you get on your horse and watch out because there's going to be some invisible spell casters so we're just going to go for it but just watch out for them they are invisible and they're annoying now this door over here or this wall looks a little bit weird right smack it with your sword and it's a fake wall so let's go ahead and hop off the horse and we can hit this grace now over there that is a giant blacksmith and you can talk to him now we're going to be using him later to upgrade our weapon so that is something that we will be doing now that we have rested at the grace that's going to de-aggro all the enemies we can actually look down here and there's an island basically right below us we want to put a beacon on the left side of this island that's where grace is going to be if we actually go down here there's some rocks so this group of this first rock here put a beacon about right there and that's where another grace is going to be so let's go ahead and call our horse and we're going to ride again pass all the spell casters and this time we're just going to follow the beacon and basically we're going gonna drop off and we're gonna go into the water so just avoid all that crap and yes we're gonna come down here gravity in this game and fall damage is very strange i would have thought i would have took some damage from that but nope didn't take any damage at all watch out for those balloons they can drop off enemies and some of those enemies can actually hit you at range so you just don't want to get shot by them now over here this is the island so let's jump up here and if you were following the beacon that i placed you're going to see the grace right away so let's just go ahead and hit this there is a tower on this island we will be doing this later but for now we're going to skip it because it's really not necessary and now we're going to head over this way and you can see all those trees there is an item we can grab along the way but we're really just trying to get to the next grace and basically once we get there then we're going to have to actually go behind a dragon now we're not going to fight the dragon we're just going to go behind the dragon and pick up all the items and then we're just going to get out of there that's basically it so you're going to see these guys on the horses over here basically there's another one of these things but this time let's hop up double jump can get you up there no problem pick up the item and now we can just go avoid the enemies you might want to rest when you get over here to de-aggro them because they might be on you at this point i don't know i want to put my map up though no i'm going to rest that way i can actually pull my map up real quick but where we're going to go now and this is where the dragon's going to be dragon's going to be located right here now i'm not actually going to put my beacon there because i don't need it but if you want to put a beacon there you can now the thing about the dragon is that if you get behind the dragon like i'm going to the dragon is probably not going to attack you it's not going to actually like advance the boss battle so because of that you can actually pull up your map and fast travel over here back to the front of the castle that's what i'm going to do so we're just going to come over here behind these rocks and get behind the dragon pick up all the items back here the purple one is the one that matters now i'm going to open my map and look how long i have here pretty much i have like a lot of time so now i'm gonna go ahead and cut this ahead i'm gonna see you guys in a moment alrighty so we are back in front of the castle and now that we have the key if you walk over to the gate you can see examine seal we're gonna go in there's gonna be a grace in here and there's gonna be a golden sea we can get right away so we're gonna do that now for the castle itself this is one of the main castles in the game we're not gonna do it we're gonna save it for much later but we will be able to run past all the enemies and we will be able to basically get a ton of stuff in here that we need so over there there's a snowflake on my compass it's basically northeast so we're going to ride past this snowflake remember it for later too because we will be using it but if we ride past it we can basically just jump down here and there's going to be a golden seed at the end of this bridge so let's make sure we pick that up now get it out the way and then we do need a double jump to get back up so just pick that up and now we can go ahead and just double jump back up and then we're going to go into the castle now the first group of enemies in here are probably gonna be the hardest ones to actually run past because they are actually a meme i mean it they have a reputation of being just ridiculous and people hate them but it's actually very easy to get past them so i'm going to show you exactly how to do it you can easily just roll past them but also you can run past them too just by kind of juking them what i mean is just kind of zigzag a little bit and they should actually miss you so i'm going to show you exactly what i'm talking about in a moment but if we come over here there's going to be a door now if you can get it to the door you're going to be invincible while you open the door once you open the door you just need to run inside and then go to the left and it's going to be a grace in there so yeah these enemies like i said they have a reputation and there's going to be probably a lot of blood stains i guess they haven't loaded in yet but i'm going to just go for it so we're gonna run upstairs when they start shooting at me i'm going to just run like that run again you see the little zigzag very easy if you roll as well you can easily get through it once you hit the door though you are invincible so once we're done opening it we're going to roll in and we're going to go to the left and we're going to hit this grace now if you die at this point it doesn't matter you're going to respond right here now watch out for these enemies if you don't want to just get killed instantly you can actually just roll through them and run out here now again if they kill you it's not a big deal i'm gonna heal real quick and i'm learning them out here to give me a little bit more space so i can actually run through so by doing it this way i can pretty much get enough space to run past them to get back inside because i'm going to rest the grace to reset the area because there is an item in that room i want to grab so now that we've done that let's go back into that room and this time it's not going to be a problem with the enemies hug the left and run forward until you get to the end of this wall pick up that that's a summer smithing stone level three we need that for our weapon to upgrade it now we're going to run back down these steps there are going to be zombies here that are going to try to grab you but it's actually pretty easy to avoid them let me show you if you just come over here kind of where that item is you don't even need to grab the item don't worry about it hop down and now we're just going to run we're going to run across the bridge there will be some archers but if you keep moving they're not going to hit you and there's going to be a tombstone you need to run behind this tombstone that's the one i'm talking about right there there's a zombie back there if you would have went the other way he would have grabbed you now again don't worry about the items we're just gonna run basically run through you need to try to get through this door on the left side not the right side if you try the right side you're gonna get stuck and then you might actually get hit so there is this elevator going up that's where we're trying to get to right now we're just going to walk off and land on the elevator if the dog hops up here the dog can do that but you can try to fight the dog and get it off a lot of times it's very stupid we need to jump over here so let it go up and i did a running jump you can probably just do a normal jump but i would try to do a running jump and now run up here and hit this grace now what we need to do is we need to take the elevator all the way back down so we're gonna go back to the windmill and pretty much just wait over here by this guy with the torch and when we get an opportunity we're gonna jump on it and we're going to write it all the way down now you're going to die here and you will lose whatever runes you have so make sure you don't have a lot i have 76 that's nothing so like i said we're going to ride this all the way down there's going to be a death machine down here we need to let this machine grab us and kill us with the grab with our low amount of health we're going to definitely be killed by the grab is not going to be a problem but basically there are also three items down here one of the items we have to grab so it's very important so it's going to automatically kick you off when you get to the bottom the moment you land there will be an item so just hop down grab this item the death machine may trigger it might not run to the purple crystals though and you can jump up here and you can get this other item that's also up here now if the death machine triggered it would be just sitting there waiting for you it's kind of good when the death machine is just sitting there waiting for you but that's fine we're just gonna like let it move it's coming over to me come on over to me and the item we're gonna try to get is all the way back there so we're gonna hop down the death machine should not be able to get you and we're going to just run all the way to the end there's a purple item here it's a talisman we have to get this talisman is super important now what you need to do is let this thing do its attack run past it right if it hits you it's fine but if you stand by the chest it's going to grab you so if it does miss this attack just run right up to the chest and it's programmed to try to grab you and if it does you're going to die and it's going to trap you but where we're going to go where we're trapped there's something very important here we got to get so this is volcanic manor and basically like i said we are trapped we cannot escape cannot fast travel out of here so if i wanted to i can't even leave but what i'm going to do is i'm going to equip that talisman the long tail cat talisman now it doesn't make you immune to fall damage but it does make it so that you don't take like fall damage as much so you're going to be able to survive certain falls that you normally wouldn't be able to now because i did that i actually currently have a heavy load so i'm going to go ahead and unequip my weapon and i'm actually going to unequip some pieces of my armor now the reason i'm doing this is because i want to have a light load so if you look over there you can see i have a light load now i recommend you actually do the same you don't need a weapon for this part if you have a shield you can use it but you don't need a weapon so what we're going to do is we're going to run and jump over here don't worry about the lava it's not going to instantly kill you if you land in it but you will take damage jump that way and now we're going to go up these rocks over here it really doesn't matter where you walk off but you're just going to simply walk off now this will not kill you because of the talisman if you don't have a talisman you're going to probably die from that so now where the slug is we're going to jump over you want to be fast here because the slugs can potentially one shot you if they hit you make the jump right there and it's going to be this hill we're going to go up this hill and there's going to be a lift and we're going to go up the lift so just run upstairs and lift is right in front of me there's actually two of them so make sure you get the right one don't make a right just run right in front of you there's also an enemy in there and if you take way too much time like just kind of bsing the enemy might be in front of the lift if that happens the enemy will probably kill you so you do want to be kind of fast about that okay so what you want to do here is just walk forward and trigger this enemy to chase you and then we're going to turn around and we're going to run over here and there's going to be an item this is an important item we need to grab this this is the somber smithing stone level 5. now the reason we triggered the enemy is because we want the enemy to come over here because there's a lot of room so that we can just run past the enemy so it's actually a good idea to trigger an attack from the enemy so just run and now we just run right past the enemy and it should miss you now if you want to just run past the enemy and maybe roll through the attack you can do that but if it hits you it's gonna one shot you plus that enemy can chase you so you might think that you're safe but then you come down here to hit the switch the enemy will chase you and then you die so it's a good idea to do what i did so hit the switch and you're going to get a cut scene and this bridge is going to extend okay now that the bridge is extended we can actually see another death machine across the bridge and there's an item we need to get that item now this jump might be very difficult for a brand new player but if you follow what i'm saying and what i'm going to show you you should be able to make it no problem so the first thing we have to do is jump up on this thing so just simply jump and land on it we're going to aim for that pillar right over there in front of us and all you got to do to land on that is just hold forward and jump that's it forward jump you'll land on here now this like chain wheel thing we're gonna jump to the middle of it and we want to go to the right side of the middle see how i'm on the right side of the middle and we're gonna aim for that ledge now the actual ledge we're gonna go for is where my head currently is so from this angle where my head is we're gonna try to aim for that ledge now here's the secret to this jump we have to do a running jump so you gotta hold forward and circle and then jump but you gotta know when to jump if you try to jump from here you're not gonna make it if you try to jump from the middle you're not gonna make it but around here you will make it every time so that's what you need to do try to time your jump from that point so i'm going to go ahead and line this up make sure you line it up and then you want to run you want to jump and you should make it no problem having a light load will allow you to move faster and jump better so that's why you might want to do that now what we need to do is we need to jump up and grab the item and then jump off that's pretty much it jump up grab the item jump off now there's nothing we can do at this point we can't get out of here so there's really only one option and that is to kill ourselves oh man gravity [Music] now after you die you're going to load back up here because we are trapped so before we do anything else let's go ahead and re-equip all our weapons and our armor and we're going to change the talisman as well that way i don't have the heavy load i have the medium mode now and we're going to get out of here we need to get to a grace and we need to rest at a grace so that's where we're going to go now so we're going to go ahead and run and jump to cross the lava here we're going to jump over here now in my opinion i think it's much easier to get past these bats if you go from over this way and then just hug the wall but there is an item over here but this is a crafting material you get so many of these throughout a playthrough it's not a big deal but i'm gonna grab the item real quick so we're just gonna run and jump watch out for the bat grab that and now we're gonna jump again over here and now we can hug the wall and we're going to enter a cave so basically just get over to the cave once you're down here you want to just go for it you do have to do some jumps so just run down watch out for the attack jump over here keep running now over here you just want to walk off and then again you can walk off over here and now you can walk off one more time there's gonna be slugs so you want to watch out for their attacks make a jump over here on the right that's useless we need to come over this way and we can just simply walk off again now this time though we're going to jump to land and i think you can roll but we're just going to jump again and then one last time we're going to jump now we are going to actually attack this one enemy so there's an enemy down there he's really annoying he can grab you and he can kill you now technically all you got to do is get to the grace you can see it it's by that cage if you can get to the grace and touch it even if you die you're going to respond at that grace and then you can rest at it and then you can get out of here but i am going to actually kill the enemy so what we need to do is we're going to do our weapon art or actual war with this weapon now we have the parry so we can't do that we need to two hand so i'm gonna hold triangle press r1 and now with this weapon though there is a follow up i can press l2 to do my ash war and then if i press r2 that's going to do my follow-up so i'm going to hop down i'm going to lock onto the enemy lure him over then i'm going to press l2 press r2 and that's going to take him out no problem now this wizard don't worry about the wizard it's probably not going to kill you just run right past it and then get to the grace and then we need to rest at it so we can get out of here so that's what i'm going to do rest at the grace and now we can actually teleport out of here so where we're going to go is we're going to go back to the main academy gate and this is going to take us to this area over here that's where we're going to try to get remember that snowflake i pointed out where the golden seed was we're going to go ahead and use that and that's gonna teleport us over to that location so i'm gonna go ahead and cut this ahead i'm gonna see you guys in a moment okay so now that we're back here we can just turn around walk over to where the snowflake it's really a seal but i always call it a snowflake and now this will teleport us to where we want to go there's going to be a grace right away and there is a church we can get another sacred tear over here to improve our potion and the main thing is we're going to head over to this lift now because we collected the two pieces of that one medallion we can actually use the lift it's going to take us somewhere so if we look on our map you can see this structure here that's the church and over here this is where the lift is so we're putting beacons down in those locations now if it's night time for you you might want to make it daytime there are going to be a couple bosses these nighttime bosses along the way so watch out for that you might want to make a day now just follow your beacon and you're going to hit the church the church is actually kind of hard to miss to be honest so it's just right over here and again there's going to be a sacred tier in here by the end of this video our potion is going to be at plus five which is actually pretty crazy to be honest with you to start the game so i was going to pick that up and we can even get it higher probably in the next episode we'll have it at like plus seven or plus eight right away so it's really really crazy stuff okay so now that we got the grace we can hop on the horse and we're gonna head towards that second beacon now there's gonna be some war machines trying to shoot you and snipe you but if you actually stick to the left they will never actually hit you they won't even shoot at you if you stick to the left if you take the road you're going to get shot and you're probably going to die but if you come over this way there's an item over here as well they're never going to see you so just pick this up now over here we do need to jump up so jump on this rock and then basically we are going to jump do a double jump to jump up this and there is an item right here let's pick that up and now we can just go the war machines will not hit us at all at this point we are perfectly safe there is going to be another item coming up over here and a grace but we can actually use the medallion and this is going to take us to a spot called the capital outskirts and there are a lot of golden seeds over here we can get a ton of potions now we're not going to do that in this episode i don't waste the time but in the next episode i probably will go around and collect some of these golden seeds in this area and then we'll actually start working on the very first area in all the dungeons because that's the main goal of the second episode is to do all the dungeons in that very first area so if we come over here we can stand right here and we can use the medallion okay so now we can get back on our horse and there are going to be a couple giants don't worry about them they're not going to shoot you because you actually use the lift properly they are not going to be hostile now if you go a little bit to the left there's some rocks over here and this is the very first grace and where we're going to be going is kind of towards a giant staircase to see the staircase we're going to go over there but we're not going to go up the staircase going up the staircase will give us a lot of golden seeds but there's an easier way to actually get over there and that's what i'm going to do in the next video if you try to go up that staircase you're probably going to die there's going to be a lot of archers and enemies that are gonna try to kill you you can easily do it but it can be difficult so we're gonna stick to the main road for now but there's gonna be another grace coming up over here there's also gonna be some guys on horses and stuff try to watch out for them you do not want to get their attention because if they chase you they can chase you to the grace and the guy is right in my way but the grace is right by all those trees okay you see how i can see the staircase there's all those trees over there so i'm going to just go ahead and ride over to the grace there's also going to be another golden seed in this area so i'm hitting this and the only one that's going to catch you over here the only one will actually be the guy on the horse he can actually catch up to you so now that we got the grace let me zoom out on the map so you can kind of see where i'm at but there is another pillar here we can get another piece of the map so let's go ahead and head over there along the way there is a golden seed so let's go ahead and pick this up and then we can go and get the map there is another church right over here close to the map and we're going to get another sacred tier the difference is this church is very dangerous we need to get in and get out as quick as possible so let's go ahead and pick that up now if i can actually open my map there we go you can see the structure here that's where the church is and over here there's a road which is really a bridge we're gonna put beacons on those two spots because that's where we're gonna be going so from here we should be able to drop down and then like i said we're gonna get into the church grab the sacred tear and we're gonna get out you should survive this and gravity is so weird sometimes i swear i'll fall down and i'll die and i'm like what we're gonna go into the church from the side and we're gonna pick up that tear right there and then we're getting out of here okay get out of here because of that enemy now what you're looking for is you're looking for all these tombstones if you find these and if you're heading towards the wave point or the beacon you should be good but if you actually jump up these rocks over here there's going to be some wind and we're going to take this wind up and that's going to take us right to where we want to be where the bridge is so we're just going to double jump hop up here and now we're going to cross the bridge there is going to be a grace on the other side of this bridge and there's going to be a ton of death machines and stuff but what we need to do right now is just climb up this mountain and it's going to be very easy if you're very quick about it you shouldn't really have a problem technically the death machines can get you and murder you but if you can get to this ladder and start climbing up it right away you should be able to be out of the range of the death machines where they can't actually hit you so what you want to do is just kind of hug the wall over here on the mountain and then we're just going to go for it i'm going to click l3 to get off the horse quickly once i reach the ladder but if i can start climbing right away i should be safe so just continue to hug the left jump off over here and start climbing hold circle to climb faster and look at that i didn't even trigger any of the death machines by hugging the left side now we are climbing up a mountain here so yeah it's going to take a minute but once we get up here there's going to be a grace right away there's going to be some more graves that we can rob and then we're gonna get our final upgrade material that we need to get our weapon all the way up to plus nine having a plus nine special weapon to start the game is crazy it really is so we don't even need to get on the horse because the grace is right here to our left let's go ahead and hit it first i will get on the horse though because we want to collect all of those runes so let's go ahead and get on the horse and now just go around and make sure you grab all of them we're going to be popping a lot of these here in a moment because we are going to get a lot of xp and we're going to level up so let's just make sure we grab all the stuff and always double check just to make sure and now we're going to go up this way and you can see there is a dead dude on a chair and there is a wolf so let's just go ahead and kill the wolf real quick and now we can go ahead and loot the dead body and that is our final somber smithing zone that we need to find now we can actually level up and upgrade our weapon so what we're gonna do let me get rid of this beacon we are going to go back to this fort before we do that though there is an item we want to get it's going to give us more xp so the item that we want is going to come from that very first grace in the open world the first step down here there's a beach we're gonna put a beacon down there and we're gonna fast travel we're gonna go down on the beach and we're gonna get this item this item is going to give us 30 percent more experience when we kill an enemy and we're going to use the item when we're about to kill the dragon that way we're going to get more xp so to actually get down to the beast just kind of hop down and then we're going to go this way kind of to the left and we're looking for this cliff because we do have to kind of drop off and then there's going to be a rooftop that we can drop onto so just kind of go down this way and also there's enemies down here there's also a cave okay i might be going too far let's just kind of look off to the side here because there will be a drop off somewhere over here it's over this way so basically just ride and now we can hop down to that roof down there and the item is going to be just over there by those giant pillars now there is some wind to jump up don't do that because if you jump up it's just going to take you all the way back to the first step and you have a high chance of actually messing up that jump that jump can very much kill you so come over here here's the item let's pick it up and that is the gold pickled foul foot and that item will last for three minutes once we trigger it and it's going to give us 30 percent more experience so we're going to basically ride this way to get away from the enemies but there's going to be a merchant right over here so i'm not going to talk to him but what i will do is i'm gonna put my little marker down my jewel so i remember that also i'm gonna get rid of that beacon now there's also a cave down here and there are items on this beach i will be coming back to the beach to actually get the items but before we do that let's discover the cave real quick it's just right here so let's hop off and run in this is a good example for me to use the lantern so you can see this i can get access to it by using my pouch and then i have it on left on the d-pad and basically let's come in here and if you remember this guy remember the little monkey guy from earlier well he's in here and you could talk to him and basically later on we're going to come back here we're going to do this cave and by doing the cave we can progress this guy's quest but that's where he's going to be so once you're in a cave by the way what's going to happen is you cannot fast travel until you exit the cave or you beat the cave now another thing is because i discovered this and i haven't done it yet i'm gonna put a marker on it i'm gonna put the little sword that's gonna remind me that i haven't actually done the cave yet that's what i always like to do so now i'm going to exit and we can fast travel back over to the fort and this is where the dragon is so you have to have a weapon that's going to do bleed this weapon just so happens to actually have bleed on it so i'm gonna two hand the weapon and also if you want to you can go ahead and use your mixed potion as well if you have that stamina thing you're gonna get a little bit more stamina so that's something to consider but we're gonna hit the tail don't use that item by the way right away it's not smart this is gonna take a minute because you're gonna have to bleed him like five times at least maybe even six to be honest but you're about to see the bleed pop up he's going to become more and more resistant to it the more you do it so it's going to take a little bit longer each time but just keep hitting the tail you're perfectly safe but look at that 13 000 damage this guy has a lot of health bleed and most of the other statuses in the game will do a percentage of the health so that's why he took so much damage there it's because he has so much health but this is all you need to do for right now just keep hitting him until he gets really weak and then i'm going to show you the amount of health he's going to have when i'm going to use that item then we're going to kill him and we're going to get a lot of xp so i'm going to cut this ahead and i'm going to see you guys in a moment all righty so i'm going to hit him real quick to show you his health but that is going to be about the level of health that you're going to want to use this item on it's going to last for three minutes so once we pop this we're going to just attack him until he will die now i need to bleed him again i might have to hit him a couple more times but because i actually have like some good stats for this weapon the weapon is actually doing a decent amount of damage to him normally i can get them a little bit lower before i pop the item but for now it's pretty much okay there so i'm going to just keep hitting them until hopefully he bleeds again remember he does get more resistant to bleed every time you do it so it's going to take more hits but just let your stamina come back and just keep swinging there we go and i probably could have waited until that little chunk of health right there but i should be okay as long as i just keep at it he's gonna die i might actually kill him with normal damage before he bleeds for one last time but we'll see you never know and the way that you're actually supposed to do this by the way is when you kill all those other dragons around him he takes like big chunks of health but you can cheese him by just coming up behind him and bleeding him and none of the other dragons will come to try to defend him if you're like on the other side the other dragons will come to try to defend this giant dragon but over here you're perfectly safe and this is going to be worth a ton of xp and i mean it basically this dragon is worth like 50 000 and all the other dragons are worth like 20 000 so there we go that was the final bleed and because of the item we're actually gonna get about 65 000 from the big dragon and then from all the other dragons we're gonna get close to a hundred thousand total look at that ninety seven thousand almost ninety eight thousand so the first thing we're gonna do before we level up is we're gonna fast travel back to this area the road to the manor and if you remember there was a giant blacksmith over here now we can buy the final somber spiffing stone that we need which is going to be the level 4 one because we haven't collected that we have all the other ones right now so let's go and talk to him and now we can go ahead and try to buy the item and then we can strengthen our weapon and you want to take this all the way up to plus nine and believe it or not probably by episode three or four we are going to be able to get this weapon to plus 10. i mean it's crazy so we can now go ahead and level up a little bit and what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna just make sure i actually have the proper stats so i have 18 strength 17 decks now i have the one item that's artificially boosting it i'm also going to get 15 endurance for now because of the brass shield i'm going to equip i also think it's a very good idea to get your health up to let's say 25 just because it's going to make the game easier and then i'm going to get a little bit more strength i do want to try to get my strength up to 25 at some point because i'm going to wield a great shield later but now one thing you can do you can use all these items now now if you see this screen where you have the stuff on the right side if you click r3 you can basically get rid of that screen and now we can pop all of these and it will not kick us out the menu so just go ahead and use all of them up and for the ones that we have more than one of we're going to do use selected and not just use so you select it use two and this one we're gonna use all six there's also another boss that we can go and cheese and that boss can give us a bunch of runes as well the only thing is i'm not gonna do it because i think that's probably gonna get patched and if you're watching this in the future you might not be able to do that cheese the dragon one i'm pretty sure will never be patched just because of the way it works alright so now we got a little bit more experience we can level up a couple more times so i'm going to put more points in the strength like i said i'm going to try to get that up to 25 and then once i get enough like vigor for hp i'm going to just focus all my points into dexterity because this weapon i mean just look at it look at the damage of this 325 plus because of the scaling 227 now if you want to see your scaling you can see down there attribute scaling it has a c and strength and a b index so you're gonna get a lot more scaling off of decks but you also will get a lot of scaling off a strength so by the end of this i might actually have like 50 strength and like 80 decks i'm serious like it's going to be a lot so now i'm going to actually go back to the first step and i'm going to probably go ahead and kill this first boss but i just thought about something i'm not going to do that yet because i am going to actually go to the gate front i want to go and get this shield now this is going to be totally rng now what we want to do here is we want to fight the enemies that are going to have the brass shield so if we're starting from this gate front grace we can pretty much just come over here and we're gonna kill this first enemy just do a running attack it's fine and they're gonna drop their weapons and armor as well and basically there you go right away i got the brass shield i can't believe it but this could take a while i'm gonna warn you now it could take a while i got really lucky right there but basically this is what you would do take out the four enemies and then just fast travel fast travel right back to the gate front grace and repeat just keep doing that over and over again until finally they will drop the brass shield i'm gonna do it one more time just to show you the route so i'm just gonna run in i'm just gonna really do running attacks against these guys so just run in hit them there's one over here just jump over now you don't want to trigger all the enemies because you won't be able to fast travel but you can always just run back to the grace if you need to so take him out and let's see i got another brass shield man you guys are gonna hate me i'm so sorry i am so sorry if you're sitting here for like 40 minutes trying to get one and you get every weapon every armor you're gonna hate me for that so i do apologize all right so now i'm gonna go back to the first step i'm gonna cut this ahead and we are going to go and murder the very first boss of the game so i'm going to see you guys in a moment alrighty do you remember the golden knight well he is the very first boss in the open world that you're going to encounter if you would have fought him he would have destroyed you he is a trap that's really what he's all about but now we are going to murder him so i'm going to talk about the shield real quick because this shield is a medium shield and it is amazing now the first thing about it is that it is heavier than this shield that's why i leveled up my endurance because i don't want to have the heavy load and i don't want to fat roll so i'm pretty much good i have the medium load still even though i have my armor and all that on so that's really cool but the best thing about this shield now at some point we will get a great shield and we will probably use a great shield because those are the best shields but this is a very good shield to start the game and the main reason is because it's got really good guard when you look at the guard boost stat you'll see it where it says guarded damage negation this has 56 this goes all the way up to 69 when you fully max this out by the way that's really good for a medium shield what that means is that when we block damage we're going to lose a lot less stamina so we can block a lot more but the best thing about this shield to start the game is that it doesn't have a skill on it there's no parry no shield bash nothing so we can actually do our ash of war while we have the shield out so while one handing from now on if i press l2 i can do my ash war if i press r2 after doing that i can do my follow-up and that attack is going to be incredibly powerful so i'm going to rest real quick and we are going to summon our dogs for this because they can play a little bit of a distraction and i'm going to restore my fp by drinking my fp potion and i'm going to go ahead and use that as well which is my mix potion just to get a little bit more stamina for the buff and now make sure i have my healing potion equipped just in case i need it we're going to run in and just right away i'm going to smack them look at that damage try to do the follow-up the follow-up is probably going to miss to be honest we can simply just kind of guard against him and basically try to get an opening remember everything in this game should be reactive watch out for that it's gonna hit hard if he does that attack we can block that did a ton of damage to us but do a jump r2 jumping r2s are very good against this guy they can hit him pretty easily but there you go we absolutely destroyed him now that weapon by the way is actually a pretty good weapon i like it a lot but i think this weapon is one of the best weapons to start the game with because it's so nice it's got bleed on it it's got a lot of range which is cool the ash of war is super good i really love this weapon
