- It feels wonderful... in a way that it's wonderfully cold. You know, David swam here.

hid from Saul in the caves.</i> The place where he cut
the corner of his robe. It happened right here. <i>The Ein Gedi is right next
to the Dead Sea.</i> <i>Located in the Judean Desert,</i> <i>it was an excellent hiding place
for King David.</i> ♪ (music) ♪ "As the deer pants for streams of water... so my soul pants for you, my God."
(Psalm 42:1) (water rushing) There are deer that walk here
in the deserts of Ein Gedi. And look at this stream
in the middle of the desert. Wow. ♪ (music) ♪ <i>The abundance of water in this area</i> <i>felt absolutely unreal.</i> ♪ (music) ♪ <i>So we kept on climbing higher and higher.</i> <i>Careful. Be careful.</i> <i>Our destination: the Waterfall of David.</i> What you don't want to do
is fall in there. <i>After King David,</i> <i>this place was destroyed
by the Babylonians</i> <i>and later rebuilt by the Hasmoneans.</i> <i>They added aqueducts, pools,</i> <i>and planted trees on the hillsides.</i> - How do your legs feel?
- Oh, they're good! - Yeah?
- Yeah. Going down is gonna be painful. All right, I see a sign. ♪ (music) ♪ So, usually, the tour guides

getting to the waterfall</i> <i>we found this cave</i> <i>which seemed to be too small
to be the place where David hid from Saul.</i> <i>Nonetheless, it was a fascinating site.</i> <i>At this point, we could feel
that we were getting closer and closer</i> <i>to this oasis
in the middle of the desert...</i> <i>to David's Waterfall.</i> ♪ (music) ♪ (water rushing) (water splashing) - Oh, it's wonderful.<i>
