is the exact place where Jesus after the resurrection, appears to his disciples who are fishing off the shore of Capernaum and He tells Peter to throw the net on the other side of the boat and they catch all this fish and they recognize that this is their master Jesus. And then, they get off the boat and walk to this place where today stands a church which is called the Supremacy of Peter, where Jesus asks him "Peter, do you love me?" 3 times. Lets go and check it out. This is the rock where, by tradition, they
believe, Jesus prepared the fish with the disciples after they caught it, after his resurrection. Right here. And He asks Peter, "Do you love me Peter?" 3 times. Ok... We are heading to the traditional site of
Mt Beatitude. I don't believe this is the true Mt of Beatitudes site. I believe that the actual location was lower and closer to the lake. We are on the edge of Mt Beatitudes. This is the traditional location they believe that this is where Jesus gave the Beatitudes Sermon. And they built a church which was designed by an Italian architect right there .. You can see it behind the trees. And it was commissionedby Mussolini. Can you believe it? It's about, uh, a hundred years old or so. But I believe that this is not the real location of the Sermon on the Mt. For the people to be able to hear Jesus as
He speaks, the best location would be much lower. He would either be on a boat, talking to the people that are on the shore. There is a location like that where the echo is just perfect. As He speaks there's easily a 5000 people could hear Him very very well. It's like a natural ampi-theartre that is
created by the hills around the lake. So, He was either on the lake talking toward the hill where the audience would be, where people would be. Or, He was on that hill, right down there,
where we are going next. We're walking toward the place where Jesus
gave the Sermon on the Mount, the Beatitudes. This is not the usual touristy place, because
the touristy place, according to tradition, they gave is up on the hill where we have just been. But in this place, is not that well known, but they found some archeological evidence together with the typological evidence of the land
where it was most likely for Jesus to give the Sermon on the Mount. And it would be right here. We've come here so many times without knowing that this place was here. There's a rock behind me that has a carving of a cross in it with an inscription of Matthew 5 (correction 28) So we are at the very north of the Lake of Galilee. Right under me, down the hill, is the place
we've been, Peter Supremacy Church, where Peter was asked by Jesus three times "Do you love me, Peter?" So we are at the very north of Sea of Galilee. To my right side, you've got the Mt Arbel
there, you got behind me Tiberius. This is the city of Tiberius. Now on the very far end of the lake, right
behind me is the south side of the Sea of Galilee. And it's not that far. On a clear day, you can see all of it clearly. And on the east side, you see those mountains in the back? Those beautiful mountains is where the boarder with Jordan is. Right on top of the mountains, and we've been there. We actually have a fence, and there, right behind them is Jordan, so its very close. -Woohoo! What happiness, what happiness! "This is the day, this is the day that the
Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it."
