[Music] hey there this is red it's time for another episode of red blaze and as you can see we're still doing eclipses we're up to getting ready for turn 6 and Eclipse and we end after our eighth turn this is our epic battle between Beatrice and Jocasta where Beatrice kind of got a slow start she's been catching back up I think to cost has been doing really well she's I had to go for the center and took out the galactic center pretty early on in the game and she's got these powerful rift cannon ships and she's kind of wiping through this sector of the galaxy luckily Beatrice got a little bit of a slow start but she managed to pull a discovery that put a bunch of missiles on her dread-nots which gave Jocasta a little bit of pause because the missiles fire before regular attacks go off so that makes it our dreadnoughts a powerful enemy and if they could potentially disrupt her ships before they can get in there with their rift cannon so it helped helped balance the dynamic out a little bit but I think Jocasta has kind of got a little bit of a lead right now so let's get started with turn 6 here only got three more turns before the game's over with and Beatrice was the one to pass first last time so she gets to go first so she's looking at she needs to do something to change the dynamic of the game at this point in time one of the things that she's thinking is she can there's she has a whole bunch of these advanced economy squares out there and the advanced economy tech is sitting out there so she's gonna grab a hold of that so we're gonna do a research now in order to get the advanced economy she needs 10 on the green track because she has no other ones right so it's gonna cost her 4 she's gonna use 4 of her science and she's gonna do some two-for-one trading so she needs 6 more so she's gonna use her materials she's gonna have to use 12 of her materials taking it all the way down to 4 in order to get that advanced economy alright what that's gonna allow her to do is flip three colonies and grab three of these cubes and drop them out there so she can put an advanced economy there I'm there one there looking at that that frees her way up she's gonna be able to go really far down the action track in order to do things because she's gonna bring in twenty one value worth of currency at the end and twenty one she's gonna give her like three or four more actions so that's pretty awesome so we'll see if that pans out for her getting a good thriving economy going alright Jocasta on the other hand think she has this game pretty well in hand and has beatrice kind of cordoned off to the top so what she's thinking is she presents enough of a threat here that she doesn't know that she necessarily needs to go after beatrice cuz she can come back and take over these and build more of these orbitals out here and get more of her stuff on the board so she's thinking she's gonna concentrate on taking out these cruiser or guardians out here and get these sectors which were worth two victory points and this one's worth another two victory points so there's some pretty good victory points in there maybe explore these hexes and take them over that's that's kind of her thought track right now the one thing she's looking at though is she does have a lot of these advanced technology squares out there she's got one there one there and one there and it's sitting right there advanced Labs is sitting right there she's got nine on her science and if you look at advanced labs they're part of the yellow track so she's gonna get a discount of two so she thinks she's gonna get a hold of that so we'll get a we'll do a research also with jocasta so to castas advanced labs would normally cost ten let's put him over here they would normally cost ten and they've got a minimum of six so looking at what she's got she's got a nice fat discount of two on that so it's only gonna cost her eight she has nines which is gonna not it's down to one and now she has advanced labs all right so with the advanced labs she can start dropping some lab folks out there so she's got one two there's three that she can drop out there so one two three she's gonna be all in the science one two three all right so there's a first one let's put our second one back here and there are third advanced science we'll go with right here so she could actually do a fourth advanced science right there cuz I believe that's her first advanced piece the other stuff she's got she's got a lot of advanced economy that she could go after too so she were to grab that she could boost her economy up too which is almost totally out at this point okay so Jocasta stern done she's done her research we're back over to beatrice at this point so what's beatrice thing and she's thinking she needs to she needs to keep this hex defended so Jocasta doesn't come flooding in there but she needs to be able to find some other stuff out i think she's gonna explore right here let's do an exploration so this is a one sector tile right here we'll pull an explorer we're going to drop a tile so we end up with an ancient and it's got one empty space on it so the great thing about you can't quite position this to keep Jocasta out of here you can go like this drop it in here like this we're going to put a discovery on there and an ancient goes on there all right so next up is Jocasta what's Jocasta want to do so there's all this meaty things that she could go after what does she want to attack she think she wants to get after this Guardian here so let's do a move action cuz she needs to get there so she can move three so here's one two and she's gonna have one of these guys back off here that's her three alright she's but done after her move action so then we're back over to Beatrice so what's Beatrice is looking at she's got decent amount of money she has a little bit of materials her dreadknots are her powerhouses right now she kind of needs a secondary type of ship out there she also could really use some more accuracy I think in her dread-nots cuz she wants those missiles to hit right off the bat what else does she have the ability that's really she's got a kind of rough think what she's gonna do is she's gonna try to work one of those dreadknots back to try to take out some of these ships so she's gonna do a move action do a move and she can move three so let's take this dreadknot and we'll move it one two three all right so now we're gonna go over to Jocasta such Acosta's got some folks over there Beatrice was nice enough to reveal that but she can't get into that directly she could go try to take out Beatrice's dreadnought she doesn't want to risk that ill-will right now if she could go in there and take out that interceptor pretty easy she doesn't want to start a fight quite yet though so what the other thing that she's looking at is she could build more orbitals she could also build more interceptors with her six materials out there she could build another two more interceptors if she has the amount token so we're limited by how many ships we actually have and she happens to have two more in her tray here so that's what she's gonna do she's gonna do a build action she's gonna build two more interceptors which is gonna run her out of interceptors it's gonna cost her six because interceptors cost three and where's she gonna drop him at I think where she's gonna drop them is right here in this sector all right then Jocasta is done so we're back over to Beatrice so Beatrice she's got twenty-one here I think she's going to go after this sector here so she's gonna pull over another to do a move action give her three moves so she's gonna do one to move her dreadnought into there and she's gonna do 1/2 so one to move into there and then another move to move there to get her interceptor up there now she's leaving her back door open but she's open that the threat of brother dread dot over here is enough to de tour Jocasta for this point in time so Beatrice is done now I'm gonna go back to Jocasta Jocasta is actually alright with that she doesn't want to start a fight right now because they're having a good time playing the game and she doesn't want to go sour at this point in time so she's gonna do another move action she's getting kind of to the top of what she can do actually she might not want to do that she's gonna fight and she's gonna need to take over one here and she doesn't have any more ships left she's going to do an influence action that will allow her to flip over too and she can muck around with two disks that are out on the board so what she's looking at is she can pick this one up well these are gonna give her take away victory points I think she's okay with that for right now so she's gonna take away this one and she's gonna take away that one doesn't have any populate she'll just take away this one because it doesn't have any planets for her to populate on it and add that to her stack okay so now I'm gonna go back over to Beatrice Beatrice has 21 but she's kind of 21 she's hoping to take this sector over so she wants to save one she does have extra money so she could potentially push it up but that's the next one after 21 is 25 that's a pretty big expense so she's going to go ahead and pass and get the start player tanked her money up even more so she's done alright so we go back to Jocasta it cost to have more that she wants to do she was flipping around her disks and I think she's just ready for her battle at this point time she could do a move she's got 17 but she's only gonna get 18 back and if she know she's gonna want to spend that to take that over so she's gonna be done at this point to that so she's gonna pass alright so both players have passed we've gone through our action phase we're going to go to our combat phase so we take a look here this hex as 274 on it this one says 301 so we're going to start over here on this X all right so what we need to look at is we have in this case we've only and previously we only had two different types of ships and in this case we have three different kinds of ships so we need to look at the initiative of all of the ships so the these guys right here have an initiative of two ancients have initiative of two Beatrice's interceptor has an initiative of 2 plus 1 is 3 so the Interceptor is gonna go before these guys the ancients compared to the dread-nots the dread-nots has just one on his so it looks like turnover is going to be interceptor ancients than the dread-nots now to start all that off we have some missiles on the dread-nots so the dread-nots gonna get to shoot first he gets three dice for his one miss initial missile attack and after that he doesn't get to shoot him anymore and he gets a +1 on them so fives and sixes they're gonna hit so we get oh wow so we get three hits with the missiles that's about couldn't have wished for any better than that so the ancients have one plus one so he takes one and then the net one next one's gonna kill him and then we put one on this ship here alright so then the next we revert to regular weapons at that point in time and now the Interceptor is first in an initiative order so he's got one cannon he's only gonna hit on a six and we got a 500 so close didn't quite cut it all right now we've got the ancient is going to fire back he's got two weapons and he's got a plus one so he's gonna get on five or six and we get one hit so his one hit since we have no hole in the Interceptor his one hit he will try to eliminate a ship if possible first which you can do he will take out the Interceptor all right so next up is gonna be my dreadnought he's gonna attack he actually has two ion cannons so we got two ion cannons to hit on fives or sixes and they both miss a four in a blank so no hits all right so that's the end of the first combat round we started our second combat round and decide whether I want to retreat or not no we'll maintain this combat so what happens is I don't get my missiles anymore they were a one-ball ii right at the beginning type thing so the first to go is gonna be the ancient and he's gonna get two dice and he gets saw in fives or sixes so no hits yay alright so Beatrice's dreadknot hits on fives or sixes and she has two shots and she missed all right decided whether we want to continue combat heck yeah all right so the ancients gonna go first again to dice it's on five or six is one good so we're dreadnought takes a hit all right dreadknots gonna do return fire with his two cannons still no hits all right we will press the combat so we go yet another round this time the ancients gonna attack no hits all right so the dread dot wants to take him out all he needs is one hit and that ship is gone ooh they went off the board three and four no hits oh it's dreadnought it's like a stormtrooper ship all right we're gonna keep pressing the attack all right here goes the agent the problems if the ancient gets two hits he takes my dreadnought out that's kind of scary ah two total misses all right this is the time time for the dreadknots of shine dreadknots gonna attack yes there we go two hits the dread-nots takes out the ancient okay Huy alright so if we look at our little order here we do our engagements then we draw reputation tiles so we were in a battle and we killed two ancients so that's gonna be three reputation tiles so I'm gonna go to our little bag here we'll fumble around in here and pull out three tiles and one two that feels like three three yep okay so we get a 2 a 3 and a 1 so Beatrice is gonna take that three and add it to her stack over there put these two back in right shuffle them up let's see here after that we've got fight over here between Jocasta and a guardian so that's a little bit different I think we've we took a guardian out over there alright so the Guardian let's get some of this stuff out of the way here tray number ancients over here alright so we've got a guardian and two of her interceptors so Jocasta interceptors have a speed of three and the Guardian has a speed of three so since they're tied the defender wins and the Guardian is gonna go first this may end up bad for enter her interceptors so let's take a look at this so the guardian gets three dice and gets a plus 2 so the Guardians gonna hit on four fives or sixes let's see what he rolls we have a four so that's one hit for one damage it's not too bad drop that there okay next up we get to go at the Guardian with our interceptors or our interceptors are firing rift cannon so we're gonna fire our to rift cannons we get whoo all right so we're gonna do three damage which is gonna be enough to kill off the Guardian because he's got to whole so one two to the holes and the third one is gonna take him out so he's gone but I'm also taking two damage so I have to group that up on one ship and so this one's gonna take two which is going to be enough the one two and then the third damage will take one of my ships out no there was a loss alright so we were in a battle so let's look at our what we get for rewards is here there we go so we were in a battle and we defeated a cruiser so we're gonna get to pull three tiles also let's pull three tile from the bag and we've got one two three all right we got it one two and A three Hey all right so what we're looking at right now is all of the shields that are here Jocasta has just filled them all up so if he draws more she would potentially replace lower value ones that she has with higher value ones okay we've completed our battles let's clear the field of the ship debris and next up we get to take care of our discoveries here so we've done all of our in our combat phase I'm gonna complete our combat phase now we can oh that should have happened for each available combat baby so there's attack population influence sectors and do discovery tiles so over here let's have beatrice she wants to influence this sector she's gonna take this discovery tile and oh that's an interesting one so that's a get a whole bunch of stuff or get two victory points so I think at this point in time she's gonna stick with the victory points because she needs the victory points more than she needs the resources alright so over on this side we're gonna get the discovery tile and your cost is gonna get that say where you can see it that's getting an orbital plus two minerals so we're gonna drop an orbital out there plus she gets two of the materials there we go alright wanted that to her list of things that she took okay so we're done with that part of it so we've completed our combat phase we've got a discovery tiles we pulled the damage off of the ships that did fighting and now we're into her upkeep phase so we can use colony ships on sectors without opponent ships so the problem for Beatrice is that she's used all of her colony ships already but Jocasta had done that influence and was able to undo two of hers so she can go ahead and drop to population so what she's looking at she can drop a money population time economy and she's got that crazy science going on so let's do the science all right let's see what else we got here so that is our first part of the upkeep phase the next is collect income and pay civilization upkeep cost alright so the income for Beatrice at this point she's going to earn twenty-one but it's gonna cost twenty-one so she breaks even Jocasta is going to earn twenty-one but she's only gonna have to oh sorry she needed to capture that one she's gonna have to spend seventeen so she's actually going to gain four on the economy gonna go from two up to six all right so now that we've taken care of our income and civilization upkeep we go to getting our production so let's see here on Beatrice she's gonna get four on the science track and then 15 on the materials track Wow alright so let's get this one out of the way or floor back there so four plus 15 is 19 she's all the way around the corner here alright so then we're gonna take a look at Jocasta Jocasta is getting 18 on the science track Wow so she can go from 1 to 19 I think they'll be buying some tech next turn all right then on the materials track she's going up 6 so she's gonna go up to 8 alright that's interesting we have two very different economies going on with this one we've got a science economy and they're kind of a materials economy going on although it wouldn't necessarily look like that from the board so all right we have got all of our resources I'm gonna return our influence disks so these disks go back there we go there we go influence disks go back alright then we're gonna grab some more tech so let's do the tech and a two players were at five tech so here's our tech bag Jocasta is high in this part hungrily cuz she has all of that science going on so there's one two three four and five tech come out oh that's why the advanced tech so I need to grab another one there we go alright so we got a sentient hull some glue on computers a positron computer antimatter cannons fusion source in advanced mining high school drop them out here the advanced mining goes there we have fusion sources out there antimatter cannons our positron computers our glue on computers and our sentient hull all right we've got our tech football colony ships and our tiles face up so we go back up up we're off of reactions up off of reactions there we go and advance the round marker all right sir up to Round seven at this point in time all right so let's go ahead and do round seven all right so what are we looking at at this point Beatrice is going first she has crazy material at this point in time but she doesn't have a whole lot of science since she has a decent amount of money to play with she's got her two big dread-nots out there so it doesn't do her a great deal of good to make more dreadnoughts one thing that she might do is reinforce her position with star bases a little bit that might be kind of handy if she was afraid that Jocasta was gonna come after I think that would be a very smart move to do would be to reinforce a little bit so what she's gonna do she wants to prevent Jocasta from coming at her right away so she's gonna build she's gonna do her build action here and she has the Starbase technology so she's gonna build two star bases which is gonna cost her six so she's gonna go down to 13 and will drop to star bases out there alright so in order to prevent Jocasta from just flying in here we'll drop a star base there I'll drop a star base there which will ideally help keep her from flooding across the border alright so that is Beatrice's turn we're over to Jocasta such a Costa has had a lot of fun this last round she think she wants to go after oh she has so many choices of things to do here but one of the things she can do is she can do some more colonization so let's do a she has advanced science labs so she can put some science there I think she wants some more money so she'll take another cash money cube and put it there what else does she have sitting out there so she can do science she could do an advanced science here which would nearly run her out of science you know she'll go ahead and do that put advanced science there alright so she has a whole bunch of science to spend plus she can go and take over that ancient at this point one of the other things that she's looking at it she's close to getting additional victory points by getting into this area of the track so buying these sciences looks advantageous at this point she has nineteen which means she can buy anything that's out there there's two things that are out so this artifact key would be a very powerful buy if she gets that she gets five resources per hex that has a star in it so that has a star there's one two three four she would have four of them she might hold off on buying that I don't know one doesn't have a star she might go after this hex and then buy that but we're also getting close to the end of the game so now might actually be a decent time to buy that I would give her a lot of resources Oh what to do what to do I think she will do that I think she's going to work on going crazy tech towards the end here yep so she's gonna buy the artifact key so it's got to have a reduction of three so the artifact key is normally cost sixteen so first let's let's do a research alright so artifact he cost sixteen it's gonna be three cheaper so she has to spend thirteen so we're gonna go down from nineteen down to six so we're gonna drop an artifact key out here now the artifact key is five resources for every star that's out there and let's make sure we're getting that right does it talk about it in here yes so in this section right here it says for the artifact key for each artifact on sectors you control immediately gained five resources of a single type alright so what I get to do is I get to do five resources of a single type and I get to do that one two three four times so four sets of five so I think what we'll do is we'll go back up ten we'll go up 15 on the technology track or sorry on the science so I'll shoot us back up to 21 and then actually we're gonna keep going we're going to go all the way up to 20 six on the technology track because we're gonna tech it up is what we're gonna do alright so now we're gonna go back over to Beatrice so we did it we use our for artifact keys we had out there to get twenty tech went up to 26 all right so Beatrice is thinking this is a losing battle right now what can she get after so there's not a whole lot to go back into the sectors to explore what you can try to do is mass her forces and maybe make it into Jocasta realm she actually needs in order to get there she kind of needs more speed and more accuracy would be helpful also on her dread-nots so getting some tech that would help with that like the positron computers would be a big bonus so I think I think she's gonna buy some positron computers so for a cost of eight she's got a - once it's gonna cost her nine to get positron computers she could either do that or go after sentient hull so sentient I think that's the better buy so instead of going after positron computers will go after sentient hull we're gonna put it on the top track so I should reduce the cost well it's got a minimum cost of 6 so we'll buy this sentient Hall for six let's put it on we'll put it on this track up here it's gonna cost her six science so she's gonna have to go from four down to zero and then you have to come up with four off of other stuff so we'll take it out of here go from ten down to six hopefully we'll use our materials to build some stuff this next round alright so now she's got sentient hull which he can use to give her replace her hole on her dread and get also get bonuses to attack so I think that will work out well alright so Beatrice is done we're back over to Jocasta and Jocasta is taking it up this round so she's gonna use her ten she's gonna do another research to figure out what it is that she wants at this point in time um she's thinking let's grab monoliths don't really need um but I can use them actually no let's not get monoliths let's get quantum grid so that's gonna get the last of her it's gonna cost her 16 which is a huge cost gonna knock her down to ten but what it does is I get to go back to the tray and pull out her last two disks and add them to the track here alright so now she's got both quantum grid and advanced robotics so those three extra disks that were in the tray have all come out to help her do more actions during her round okay so we're back over to Beatrice Beatrice just got the sentient hull now that she's got it she's gonna want to use it so she's gonna upgrade to an upgrade so if we take a look at sentient all which is here I grab two of those what Cynthia Hall offers is +1 accuracy and +1 hull so a sentient hull is much better than a regular ol so we'll replace our sentient hull with our regular hull so now the Grad knots have a +3 to attack so they're gonna hit on a 3 4 5 or 6 so that's a that's a pretty good set of hits there alright so we're done with Beatrice's turn we're back over to Jocasta let's see utrecht hasta was taking it up she's down to 10 is anything that she wants to buy at this point in time she's got orbitals she could just buy in order to get victory points or is there anything that's actually somewhat usable she's kind of gone this whole rift cannon route and there's not much upgrade that you can do to the interceptors I think what she's gonna get is four five so we will do another research and she'll go up use five use five science and we're gonna get the Neutron absorbers so in case Beatrice think she's awesome he's gonna come over here and try to take out the population get one of these neutron bombs and try to take out our population we're gonna have some Neutron absorbers so she can't just walk into a sector and wipe out all the population a sector normally you have to roll and get hits so if I were to roll in here with my my dreadnought take out all of the ships then I would have to do attacks with my cannons my ion cannons I would roll dice on my on cannons for each hit I would take out a population cube I would have to take out all the population cubes before I can remove control of the sector when you get neutron bombs when you walk in and you eliminate the enemy then you can just wipe out all of the population tubes you don't have to get hit so it's a big advantage that's why the Neutron absorbers are really nice that there's a thing where it makes it easy to come in and take over sectors and then that prevents it and really slows that part of the game down so Beatrice wouldn't be able to just come through and wiped through all of your Costas areas if there was an opening okay so Jocasta but Neutron absorbers and it's also helping get her victory points up on that track so then we're back over to Beatrice so what's Beatrice gonna do she's done an upgrade and a build she should have done a research also we missed one of her tokens for a research right yes I did miss a token okay and she started so we should be at three and three okay so we're back over to Beatrice at this point in time so she's up to 21 she would use up 21 which is where she's at on that chart so does she want to do anything else right now [Music] you've only got one more round so we're kind of getting to the edge so yes there's a couple of things that she wants to do so she wants to do a colony ship and she can start to colonize some of these things so there's a there's a money there's another colony ship ooh to do with science she does have advanced mining so she can go ahead and do the advanced mining there all right what else does she want to do on her turn here she can I think she wants to get that dreadknot in a position to do something next round so that's either bring him up to the front line so she could go one two three let's do that she thinks she's gonna get in on this over here because decosta hasn't made a move there so she's gonna go for it we're gonna do a move you know three one two three and she's done alright so at this point in time Jocasta is thinking well I was gonna go there but now you've gone into there so do I want to it's kind of like declare war in a way is I'm gonna go at you in order yes so let's go at you so we're getting towards the end of the game I think dekat says like all bets are off we're gonna do a move do a move I get to move three so we're gonna go one to move this one back up three um let's see what's he gonna do other than that uh natural she'll hold steady alright so Beatrice's turn she's like oh no she's got some stuff coming um so what are her choices at this point are she can do another upgrade her problem is she's at 21 he's got 24 there she does another action she's gonna be in the twenty five range and be kind of out of sorts so I think she's gonna let it go for now she's gonna pass which is gonna give her two more money does that make sense no it doesn't um she's got a lot of money she's gonna go ahead spend this one to do an upgrade and she's gonna get two more sentient ole-ole and she's gonna put the sentient toll over here on this electron computer and then she will put a sentient all on this cruiser because she's looking to build some cruisers I think okay then we're back over to Jocasta so to Acosta's at ten and she's gonna be earning twenty so she's got more actions she can do and we kind of decided all bets were off at this point but she doesn't want to be mean I mean that's not right so she's thinking she's going to come back over here and get some more victory points by going after this guy over here too scarred Ian so she's gonna do a move action just gonna move three so go one two this one three all right go back over to Beatrice Beatrice doesn't she's got him in a tight spot so she's gonna pass now she's gonna get the $2 she'll go up to eight you go back over to Jocasta Jocasta is gonna she still got she's looking at hey I've got all this actions I can do things are going great for me I'm gonna do another move she's gonna move three so she's gonna go one to get there and then maybe a yep she can do it there's connecting wormholes so she can go to three get they're gonna make sure she takes out that Guardian all right can we go back over to Beatrice Beatrice isn't gonna do anything more she's passed already Jocasta is looking at what she's got she could do another action does she have something she wants to upgrade or does she have more technology that she wants to buy she's kind of got this game in hand at this point in time um are there she's yeah she's gonna buy another technology just because it's gonna give her more victory points so she's gonna do yet another research and she's gonna go for this fusion drive here so the fusion drive got a minimum cost of three and she's got a long line of things so she's gonna have to pay three science for the fusion drive she's almost got that tract full so she's looking like she's gonna get three victory points in the last one is five so she's doing really good there all right so then we go back to Beatrice Beatrice is already checked out Jocasta at this point in time she thinks she's done enough this round it's about time to stop so she's gonna pass also all right so we're done with our action phase we're gonna move into our combat phase so let's take a look at our combat phase we need to figure out which is our where battles are going on first so we've got battle that's gonna happen here do we have any other battles we have the battle that's going to happen over here all right so we're gonna look at our hex numbers and this one's 105 and this one is 271 so 271 is gonna go off first so what we're looking at is we have a guardian who's got three for his initiative and then we have three interceptors who have three for their initiative so he's gonna get to go first because he's defender so the guardian gets three dice with the plus two so two hits so we're gonna drop two hits on one of these little interceptors out here the interceptors take three so he's got two whole and then another hit to hit him so doesn't destroy an interceptor so now the interceptors are gonna shoot at the guardian and there's three of them we have three rift cannons so a three rift cannons are gonna go off alright so what we're looking at is two damage to the Guardian which the guardian has to whole so he's not gonna be dead yet so two damage to the Guardian will actually take one damage to ourselves so this interceptor that's the third damage to take him out he's gone I'm gonna say to the side over here alright so now we go back to do we want to press the attack and Jocasta yes wants to press the attack these are fairly insignificant ships to her and the grand scheme of things so you go back to the Guardian getting to attack first and the Guardian gets three dice with the plus two so we get one hit one hit on one of those interceptors all right so now we don't get three RIF dice you only get two because we have two interceptors roll for them oh no damage and they take a damage rift cannons did not work well that round I'm just gonna press the attack Guardians gonna fire let's see here we got a four and a hit and a two and since we have a plus two that's two hits so the first hit is gonna take this guy out and then we're gonna do another hit on this ship all right well this guy's go we're down to one rift cannon see if he can finish off the Guardian oh ok so he's gonna do three which is gonna be enough to kill the Guardian but he's also going to take one which is not quite enough to kill him so he's gonna win that battle all right so we get a victory there let's see if I can do this order right all right so we did our we did our complete our battle and there's no population to attack influence the sectors discovery tiles and repair damage so let's see here that all happens after the rest of the Fighting's let's do our other our other combat over here we're gonna resolve this other battle so the way this is going to work is the descendants the descendant will happen last whoever was in the battle last and we have to fight out through the fight between our look our dreadknot first and the two interceptors all right so this battle will happen first and it's going to go in the order of how the hex was entered really matter at this point because this is the defender he was there initially we we were to the last to to enter right so if we take a look at the interceptors the interceptors had a speed of three the dread-nots has a speed of 1 but the dread-nots has missiles so the missiles will go off first we have a plus we have three plus ones from the sentient hull so we're gonna get a plus three so we have three shots you don't think missile shots at plus three and they all three hit so that's three hits so the three hits is enough to take out one of the ships so we take out one ship oh forgot to do reputation tiles go back here real fast we'll do the reputation - uh should have gotten three for this battle sorry one two three got a one one in a - this you have any ones over here to replace - the - nope so these don't do any good we'll throw them back in there alright so I missed that but it didn't really matter it goes anything good anyway okay back to the battle of hand all right so I'm able to I got three hits I'm gonna remove one of the interceptors all right so then we go to our normal cannon fire at this point down we've got the rift cannon to deal with so we've got one rift cannon firing on the dread-nots and it misses all right so now the dread-nots has to normal ion cannons that have a +3 so plus three there would make it a five that ends up being a hit so one hit all right so now we decide do we want to press the battle and both sides want to press the battle alright so I no longer have my missiles because they're only part of the first salvo so the rift cannon goes first ooh three hits so on my dreadnought I have one two three extra hole and the next hit will destroy me so I take the three damage only dreadknot and it looks like our interceptor here takes a damage from his rift cannon all right so now the dread-nots gets to roll for his attack he's got two dice and they get a +3 so there we go there's hits takes out the Interceptor all right so in that battle the dread-nots gets the victory all right let me take a drink all right the next medal we've got going on is the dreadnought and the ancient that's in that room okay I'm going to pause the video for just a second cuz I need to look something up real fast I'll be right back okay I'm back I wanted to verify a couple of things about how the combat phase goes so the one thing I want to verify is that my my damage doesn't heal when I go to Jack the ancient the other thing that I wanted to verify was that sorry my my damn it doesn't heal when I go to fight the agent the other thing I want to verify was it my missiles are reloaded for my fight with the 8th agent so Beatrice will get to shoot missiles again when she goes to fight the ancient the other thing is we don't draw reputation tiles until after the entire combat is done and then reputation tiles reputation tile draw is done in the order in which we entered the hex so Beatrice will end up drawing first and then Jocasta will end up end up drawing ok so we did our two player fights now we're going to go beatrice versus the ancient that's sitting in in the hex so first off is we've got our three missiles so we have three missiles and we're really hoping we take Mel with the missiles missiles have a plus three and we need to do at least two damage to take the ancient out so luckily a plus 3 and a plus 3 make those sixes and we're able to take the engine out with the missiles so that's the advantage of the missiles so the ancient goes all right shoot all right so what's gonna end up happening at that point in time is let's take a look at our are phasing here there's no population to attack so we can draw reputation tiles at this point all right so because beatrice was the first to enter the hex she gets to draw first she's going to get one for the battle one for the ancient and then I think if we look on this chart here interceptors right through our worth one all right so she's gonna get a draw one for the battle two three four tiles from the bag all right so she comes up with cuz she's gonna get to fill up her chart there so we got one two three four all right so she's got a 3 a 2 a 3 a 2 so she's definitely good taking on those threes an atom to her stack all right next up would be for drawing reputation to house is gonna be Jocasta so the Jocasta didn't defeat anything but she was engaged in a battle so she gets one tile nice little shake it up and we'll see what she gets she could say to she only she has twos and threes over here so that doesn't help broaden each I'll toss it right back in the back all right those are our reputation tiles let's move this stuff back out of the way these ships over here all right so we've done our influenced sectors so let's see here our reputation tiles there's no population to attack you get to influence sectors so do I want to influence that sector it cost me thirty I'm gonna get twenty four yeah let's go ahead and we'll influence that sector and we're gonna get this oh chard hole discovery so do I take the shard hull we're right at the end that would be excellent for combat but I don't think there's gonna be a lot of combat at the end so we're gonna take the victory points and we'll go with the victory points because I think Beatrice is really gonna need the victory points because she's not stacking up in other areas versus Jocasta all right but that three hole would be really nice to throw on one of the ships out there okay let's see here so repair damage we're gonna get our damage out of here and we're done at that point no I don't have any colony ships to colonize stuff so I don't get it really take advantage of the fact that I took over that sector all right we're done with combat we move on to our upkeep phase so everybody's all colonized out actually we should be flipped over here so we move on to collect income and pay civilization upkeep so this is gonna be a little bit dicey on Beatrice aside so Beatrice has upkeep of 30 and she's making 24 so she needs to come up with six dollars from somewhere luckily she's got lots of dollars here I can spend him go from eight down to two and she's okay alright so on to cost the side of the board she's got she's bringing in 24 she's gonna have a net gain of three so she's doing all right doing some better money management there alright now we collect our resources so we're gonna get 18 so we're gonna go from 13 up to 31 alright and then we're gonna get six science well won't wah-wah the first one seemed really impressive the second less discount like yeah yeah okay alright so those are the resources that Beatrice managed to get now let's take look what your cost is getting Acosta's kind of got the reverse she's gonna get six materials and go up to 14 but her science is crazy she's gonna go about 24 so she's gonna go up to 26 all the way down over there okay so at this point we have received our production we're gonna return our influence disks there's a massive stack of influence disks cuz we have money look at that singing on to caustic if she's got the the quantum grid and udemy asked robotics she's if you're gonna have a bunch of action she can do during this last round okay and then Beatrice over here not so much a few action she can do but she does not have does not have the huge range that Jed Acosta has okay so we put our influence disks back we now need to get some text or you five more tech going into the last round so we got one two three oh the flux missiles come out four five so we're gonna get a bonus one because one of the two of those are advanced technologies so we're gonna get there we go okay so we have a where's that that's a soliton cannon we have a Pico modulator advanced labs fusion drive improved hull is that the first improved hull that's the first improved hole to come out Wow another improved hall and then flux missiles right so flux missiles are an advanced technology we have salton cannons and another advanced technology Komachi later another advanced technology let's see here fusion drive goes there advanced labs go there improved hull it was there usually those get bought up pretty early but we didn't get really any in this game all right so we've got tech I'm gonna flip by colony ships and our cards so we are we've done our tech we've flipped our summary card in our colony ships I'm going to advance the round marker to our final round all right so we're getting ready for round eight this is the final round the one thing I'm looking at is de castas got a lot of area she's got some high-value areas but Beatrice has accumulated some extra points they're on this side so I'm not sure if that'll make the difference or not Jocasta has also got this higher tech value out here you can get three victory points off of the tech plus she's got more than she can buy this round so this last round would be interesting figure out who goes after the fight because Jocasta had this nice set of interceptors and I really thought she was gonna take over this and knock Beatrice out of there but the missiles seemed to do the trick and the extra ability to hit and the rift cannons didn't come through so alright so that is round seven or so those return six and seven and we're getting set up for our final turn which is turn eight and we'll do that in another episode that will be the final episode will be turned eight and then final scoring to see who's the vicar so thanks for watching and
