oh well hello there everybody I always have to check to make sure that my microphones on how are you guys all doing today yo so you tuned with me on a Sunday I did not get Saturday's video done so I wanted to make sure that I took the time to shoot something for you guys sorry about that but hopefully that'll be coming at you Monday so if you would like tabs what we are about to get down on that is down below in the description waiting there for you and of course you can check out my free guitar course the front court decoder it is right there that link is also right by the tabs we're talking about easy licks that sound complicated I love stuff like this eddie van halen was actually very good at this about taking you know one singing their idea and moving it in a way that made it sound much more complicated actually than what it was so we're gonna take a bunch of these aren't like necessarily eddie van halen licks but i'm a bunch of these licks that i think are you kind of hear them and then when you learn me like oh there's really not that much going on so let's go [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay so look number one now this is a pattern I used myself a lot of use all these a lot but one that I kind of discovered that I really like the way that it sounded and I'll show you the way I'm picking it exactly you could pick it of course however you want but the pattern that's my cell phone so yeah this is just one that I found that I really like the way that it sounds and it's really not that difficult once you start moving it around it becomes more difficult but in one single spot you can kind of sit there on it so all I'm doing here is combining box five in box one of our minor pentatonic scale so I'm gonna go 15 and I pick the string on a Down then I pick up on 12 and you'll pull off the four to ten sorry okay now from there I go to 12 on the B which is a down 12 on the high string which is a down okay down you another pull off 12 10 then what I do is I go back to the B string 12 10 so basically it's this by combining two you know kind of common lick I'm just combining them together to make one what can i extended run [Music] there's that one I said there's picking and all that stuff you can move it but that's where it gets much more complicated all right so next is one of part of my all-time favorite licks I learned it you know very early on it was just very easy to do and then I incorporated a slide which I'll actually like the way that sounds a little better but essentially I just like it as power chord so I'm starting here on tenth fret of the low E string I play that then I go to 12 on the a so next up you're gonna go 12 on the a to 14 on the d shifting up you're gonna go 14 on the D to 16 on the G you're gonna go 14 on the G to I'm sorry 16 on the G to 17 on the B and then 17 on the beat - what is this 19 on the height and that's the entire leg now what I like to do is I add a slide so when I go to the next string I start you know somewhere behind I'm not really concerned about where my starting point is that's where my we're on ending I'm going to that 12 but yeah there's that one literally like I said it's just a bunch of power chords that's all that one is next we of course had to do anything handle like I mentioned Tim and it's just this it's kind of like from his eruption a solo it's in that style so this link is an exit very simple I'm just playing the open high E string and on the B string I go eight pull off two five [Music] see that like if you can do that you're pretty much set [Music] there you have it you know you can move this around you know lots of cool things you can do with it that's the like I said very simple but I think it sounds like I mean if you if you know what it is and you can pick it up right away but if you're just kind of like hearing it for the first time you might be like what exactly is happening there but there's this there's a next one okay so next this one to me definitely sounds complicated have no fear it's actually very simple what is happening here it's a diminished Ron and uh what we're doing is just this we're gonna play five to eight on the G I'm using my point of my pinky here but I switch to my ring through my but you can use ring finger pinky whatever you want I go five eight on the g25 eight on the high E now from there the way the diminished go you can use it is just something moving up or down three frets so so I'm gonna go from eight all the way up to 11 then I go back to a and then eleven eighty [Music] that's essentially the lick there but what I do to keep it going is then once I get to that eight on the G I slide back up to eleven and then 14 and 1140 I'm from here I'm gonna go from 14 up to 17 then 14 1740 once you get it you can I see the pattern right away you can keep going I'm not gonna go any further than that [Music] it's really easy to move that around in the last one I thought I'd throw in some Eric Johnson stuff because I teach us a lot and um I hear a lot of people say like oh I've never tried learning anything and stuff it just sounds too hard I was like oh it's actually I mean Eric Johnson stuff is ridiculously hard but like he is our pgo style is actually not that difficult to get started into it so I'm gonna start from the a minor I'm gonna go 12 on the a 14 on the D and then 13 on the BD shift up I'm gonna go 14 17 15 so 14 on the a 17 on the D and then 15 on the beat shifting up again now we're going to 15 it was 15 17 17 that's what a de C major D major [Music] and then into cliffs it over if you want to but I'm not gonna do that because I can't already homies hope you enjoyed that one like I said these are all once you you know get the concept very simple licks to to get right away and start applying very quickly sometimes you have very complex basically like algorithms you need to figure out to incorporate some of these licks but these are pretty straightforward so I hope you enjoyed those get the tabs and I will be seeing you all on Monday zl-- with a new vid dizzle o is okay yep I'm gonna bye guys [Music] [Applause] [Music]
