Drone Mapping - Pix4D Tutorial – Basic Workflow with GCPs

hi in this video I will show you a fast workflow for a basic project in pics 4d mapper this video is a part of advanced UAV photogrammetry car series available at udemy.com check the discount link in the description ok let's start by creating a new project in pics 4d mapper I click the new project button next I name this project and choose a file path after that I click Next and select drone images to process those images were taken using DJI phantom4 Pro so I leave the geolocation setting a default I select the output coordinate system for my project I check the Advanced tab and select the noun coordinate system I find my coordinate system by epsg number and click OK I set my vertical coordinate system to arbitrary I will use the 3d map template for this project I uncheck step two and step three processing and I click start I will skip the processing part of this video so you don't have to wait after step one processing is done the quality report should pop up I quickly check the summary section to see if it's ok I close the quality report and inspect the spares point cloud I don't see any missile areas now it's time to add GCPs I prepared them in txt file that is ready to import here you can see what it looks like inside in GCP manager I click import PCP button and select my txt file now I can mark GCPs in the record view I click one of the DCPS and market on 10 images you I repeat this process for all of the GCPs after that I changed some GPS to checkpoints you next I click process stop and three optimize the project reoptimize is needed for GCPs to take effect after it's done I regenerate the quality report now I can check the error to initial position for each checkpoint to estimate the accuracy of my project you next I draw the processing area you then I added some processing options for other steps you now I can press Start you that's it for the basic workflow as you can see it was very fast and the accuracy was okay in my course series I will tell you how to achieve even greater accuracy for your projects thanks for watching if you like this video then be sure to check out my online courses check the links in the description for a discount in my courses I explained in depth every aspect of UAV photogrammetry to achieve survey great accuracy
