Downtown Seattle & Pike Place Market Walkthrough - June 16, 2024 | Happy Father’s Day! ☀️

it's absolutely going to be amazing once it's done here wow look at that fairy pulling away indeed a very sadle scene here greetings from beautiful Seattle Washington everyone Dennis here and I am currently standing on the corner of Virginia and Second Avenue and in this video I am going to walk downtown Seattle and check out the market Pik Place Market that is I've not made one of these videos in a long time and today I wanted to get steps in so I thought hey let's do this an old School La ocean walking tour video um by the way I oh that's true got coffee this morning from a place that I don't usually go to but uh now that I'm seeing more theater or more coffee shop right there I'm wishing that I would have held off anyway I got coffee at yeah at that place Starbucks I actually went went to a drive-thru on the way here uh in STO which is maybe 2 miles south of here all right let's see what uh downtown Seattle looks like this part of downtown Seattle anyway which is Bell toown we're at the southern tip of Belltown and we're going to go ahead and go all the way to Pine Street and then swing a right so go west let's go ahead and cross the street here though on the street is a Stewart yeah let's take our right on Stewart and then we'll go left look at that long line there wow wow that's a popular place I have to check that place out heaths or Ludy rather ludy's breakfast and lunch Wow have to do a lunch date with my wife anyway if you go left go east there a couple of shopping malls and that's a shopping district there all right this weather here it's feeling like I don't know it was a little sunny when I left the house and now it's uh it's nice uh walking weather you know it's 52 degrees but I feel rain drops coming down hopefully my camera will be okay I might end up getting a raindrop or two on my lens if you're new to this channel I do a lot of different things on this channel I like to document downtown Seattle and Seattle and Pacific Northwest show share with you what this beautiful area of the country looks like and also I do other stuff too like Southeast Asian um I make content about southeast Asia La in particular because originally I am from La immigrated here as a refugee immigrant in 1980 so I've been here since then 44 years of you do the math cuz right now it is 2024 by the way I forgot to mentioned something really important H and that is that today is H uh is Father's day so happy Father's Day to all the dads out there today is your day and it's um actually crossed my mind that I'll make this video sort of as a tribute to all the dads out there because you know what we wouldn't be be here without dads and moms too but Mom or moms you already had your day a month or so ago all right we're now approaching Pike Street you know by the way I don't know how long this video is going to have um being I have a feeling it's going to be a longer video that's what I'm feeling that's interesting entrance to this building here yeah it's will end up being a longer video a lot of people like to a lot of people are curious about the pike Pine Corridor along [Applause] third would you just be a block on my left go left by a block yeah you can see what it looks like there it is right there by a block cuz we're on second and uh pipe right now lots of tourists and let's check out this street here because they closed the street they closed it off quite recently and uh close it off to vehicle traffic anyway so yeah it looks it looks quite different without cars here I think it's a good idea oh look at all these pigeons by the way Heart Rock Cafe let me show that to you is no longer here look at that that used to be heart uh Heart Rock Cafe right there so if you're looking for a space to lease for business there you go what's up [Music] pigeons bye pigeons all right and here we are we're at the market this is a Starbucks here not to be confused with the very first Starbucks which I'll probably end up showing that to you um Let's cross the street here this is an Allway crosswalk which is nice you can cross it however you like all right 10:36 a.m. we've been walking for about 6 minutes let's go this way first let's go this way first let's trck down this Cobble uh Cobblestone walk here walkway or Street It's actually an alley post alley that is I almost I almost got coffee here I like to get coffee here but I wasn't sure about the line how long it would be so I didn't there's a quick glimpse of the g at the Gum Wall this is a just a quick look I think people people that follow me on this channel they're pretty gum walled out by now so I'm not going to Bel labor the Gum Wall all right let's go upstairs let's see if they're toss fish up there there's a lot of tourist here know lots and lots of tourist [Music] really all right here we are are they tossing fish today let's see I'm sure they are we might not uh we might not be able to catch him doing that because I want to keep this video moving let's let's go here for a little bit wow I imagine there's lots of families here uh celebrate oh Father's Day let's check out this area real quick here and there's something I need to do which is I need to tie my shoe yeah you don't want to walk around your shoe untied so I'm going to have my shoe real quick set my camera here thank you for your patience I'm trying very hard to make this be a one take video um I just I like one take videos because it gives that raw sort of feel you know what I mean almost as good as live very little um uh full transparency right like little to to no editing um that's like how I make to my uh like to make my videos and uh also POV first person I'm in that mode right now where I'm really enjoying these POV videos this Market is fantastic I have lotss of different things wine Pate wow this place is hopping look at this yeah this is the economy market it is hopping here oh oh wow look at all all the nuts here look at all these nuts yep 100% halal food here wow oh that looks like a loud dish oh my gosh that looks like a um wow it's spinach with ground spices with cheese it looks like Gil like uh which is a dish made from mainly uh collar greens interesting looks exactly like that dish but I'm 100% sure that it tastes 100% different just because of the ingredients all right okay that's what it looks like in that direction there looks like they're giving out samples what are they giving out so what has to happen for you guys to throw it's usually when someone buys one over there but we also do test offs every 15 10 minutes all right you heard the man every 10 15 minutes is how often they toss the fish and yeah it happens happens at this corner wow tons of people here I mean prime time to be at the market right now I would say it wouldn't hurt to come a little early too but yeah 10 10:30 is a good time to come to the market look at that yeah if you like crowds and people Pike Place Market Today is definitely for [Music] you check out these flowers so beautiful and at an attractive price too I might add $10 for those bundles there those bouquet there and 20 for these yeah and I mean what would P Place Market be without these flowers and these flower vendors they've been here for decades hardworking vendors all these vendors are hardworking you know it's not easy it's not easy operating a business in Seattle anywhere really it's not it really is not reminds me that I maybe should contact the owner of a coffee shop that I've been sort of wanting to interview it's a coffee shop that opened up this year and they're having some Financial always get a big troubles a lot of it has to do with a lot if not all of it um has to do with taxes and just how stringent the the county the county the city actually with this particular business how just how strict they are with code and everything took them an extra it took them over a year and a half something like a year and a half longer than they anticipated for the place to open and and so they long story short they they lost they used up a lot of their money to where now they might not they might not make it get these ideas in my head sometimes about m I should go podcast mode you know I should interview people I should interview Seattle businesses I should inter interview people on the street cuz I do enjoy watching interviews and I think that would be a value to people oil wow a good place to sample oil or um yeah oil olive oil and I'm also seeing Thai Sesame Ginger oil all kinds of oil here yeah we got more oil than Tas year wow this is this is a insane yeah this is the most people I've seen here in a long time look at how crowded it is here doesy but get you closer oh coughing leather products there's coughing happening in front of me must get away must get away from coughing must get fresh air for a little bit must must take a break from the crowd must all right woo turns me on when people cover their mouths when they um cough that's not too big of an askk is it for people to cover their their output and they cough here's a look at what it like very Seattle here look at that very Seattle scene Pike Place Market you have great wheel and there's a fery there there's a I think that's a Argy uh boat C that just that's just pulling out right there very nice all right let's go back in there's our friend Lou there's our friend Lou working on her flowers I'm not going to bother Lou today just going to let Lou be let's go outside I want to check out the ciders here is oh man I love apple cider especially if it's organic ice cold apple cider hold pressed $30 for a cup just kidding I didn't see the I didn't see the price at the farmers market that I went to last week it was $7 for apple cider slushie uh I went to the ballor farmers market last week you can check out that video that's Seattle's most um amazing Farmers Market I think most vibrant vibrant amazing cherries there were $23 per per pound was it 2 lb for 23 I think it was um but I I want to know how much cherries are here actually these cherries you see what they look like no price in sight so I'm actually going to go pick cherries uh in about a couple of weeks maybe three weeks um cuz July is well around this time is cherry picking season but I have a friend who who has a small farm with something like 30 plus cherry trees and told me that I should go pick cherries so we're going to go pick cherries maybe we'll make a video out of that why not right it's a Seattle Pacific Northwest thing that should be shared or could be shared look at the the flowers nothing nothing has to be shared but it could be let me know if you want to see me and Amanda and maybe some friends too um pick cherries all right we're going to go out to this view deck here one of my favorite features here at the market oh it is hopping here wow that's good good for the economy all right yeah I'm just cruising right along in this video it's more of a comprehensive video video I would say so if there's something that you saw and you're like oh you didn't capture the price of that product or you know where's where's a closer look at this or that I apologize but yeah trying to trying to be more comprehensive all right let's that's what it looks like in the covered area there let's go outside to Thai street food wow Thai street food prices look pretty good1 95 $1.95 per plate yeah not bad for 2024 you go to a restaurant P Tha can run you I don't know 12 13 14 18 sometimes $18 for Pat Tha who wants to pay $8 for Pat Tha not me in Thailand two or $3 but we're not trying to uh cover I mean we're not trying to compare apples and oranges here are we all right there's a look at there's a look at the Overlook pass there wow it's coming right along it looks great I'm so excited for this the Waterfront development here to be complete because it's going to be awesome look at it wow okay let's take another look it's absolutely going to be right let's give others opportunity to enjoy that view oh yeah actually I'm going to go here to see if there's people sitting in in my corner in my corner where I like to chill out at with coffee in hand right there oh yeah there's people there that's my secret spot right there well not so much a secret anymore but yeah that's me in the corner that's my corner oh this is beautiful look at these plants looks very spring all right let's go back in and make our way in this video I'm not going to go to uh to the bottom or the basement there's a there's multiple multiple floors here at the at the market we're just going to stay on the main level trying to keep up with you what I like to do is I'd like to actually walk back to where we began this journey because this is this is not a strictly Pike Place Market Video this is a downtown Seattle slik Place Market Walkin talk radio AKA walking tour video some amazing stuff here all right I'm going to go ahead and exit this way here and uh I want to show you Seattle's very first Starbucks which is actually not Seattle's very first Starbucks but it's considered the first Starbucks actually moved to moved to this location from their very first um from the original location but yeah here it is and the line the line here always long even at like 5:00 p.m. it's long yeah last week we're here and we're here at 6:00 p.m. 5:30 yeah 600 p.m. actually we had dinner at suo handroll we did a double date sort of thing wife and I and our friend um are friends um my buddy and his wife so uh afterward we came here just strolled around the market was closed but there are you know a few vendors are still open uh Starbucks was open and the line was long like really long all right so now we're at the end we're at the end here and the handroll sushi place by the way y'all right there see see Cutters right there it's next door to Cutters actually right there let me zoom up for you right there Sugo you can see the sign maybe Sugo hand R Sushi good stuff and here's a look at the park across the street steinbrook Park construction continues to be in process so from here I'm going to walk up this hill you can tell I'm really excited about walking out this hill well what do you do you live in Seattle you got to walk Hills you know so that's what we're going to do we're going to walk up this hill and at the top of this hill the view is fantastic the view looking towards the sound so let's go ahead and walk up this hill yeah sometimes you can get lucky and park in one of these spots here y'all on a good day you can find us spot or two there if you need to park for 30 minutes maybe you can park here to take a selfie up there here 30 minute truckload only Zone here know all right I'm realizing that I could have covered a lot more at the market I didn't go I didn't walk um by the section that's um the post alley the section of the post alley that has where the Chowder House is Pike um Place Chowder House views are pretty good here maybe I overhyped it but not bad all right um this restaurant here this Inn it's a Inn with a restaurant I love this place it just I just like the vibe it feels like Europe or something you know yeah all right going to wait for this light to turn we're at first in Virginia our journey began at second in Virginia so we're about a block away and bell toown bell toown is well we're in Bell toown now um but I would say we're at like the very Southern or South Western tip of Belltown but when people say Belltown it's really in that direction there but uh little bit out of breath that's good and uh here we are more or less where we began our journey just a glimpse of what downtown Seattle this part of downtown Seattle what it looks like if it's safe can you walk alone is it a good idea to come here with family these are all questions that people have and you know it's these are fair questions to to have but uh yeah judge for yourself hopefully you enjoyed this video if you did go ahead
