Double murder suspect on the run in Tampa

entitled please all right it's j j o NE E I have a symbol for my second e LS lws public information officer here the police department can you walk us through chronologically what UNH holded here this morning sure thing so of course it's still very early in the investigation and I'll give you updates as they come in but this is what we know at this point around 10:30 this morning there were three shot spotter alerts heard followed by at least 2 911 calls at 10:32 the first units arrived to the scene immediately officers as well as community members started performing CPR and doing everything in their power to save the two victims that were located here on the scene sadly those two victims died from their injuries so where we stand at this point you can see this is still a very active investigation a lot of people are gathered here we are talking with Witnesses we are working to obtain video and get a good suspect description what we know preliminary from what we've received so far in the investigation is that there was a small group of people gathered here and the two victims that were identified as well as the suspect they were engaged in some sort of way before the shots were fired so everyone involved as we know at this point is an adult the two deceased one male one female and can you speak to whether or not you think this was a random event it doesn't appear that it was a random but any act of violence in the community isin definitely concerning I mean there are friends community members people that live here that want to know what's going on and are concerned and we're concerned as well have people been helpful in you know giving you uh info uh helping you kind of identify a specific suspect very helpful we've been talking with Witnesses they've been sharing what they know pointing us to any potential available video so that's where we're at at this point is working this area Gathering as much information as we can was there surveillance video from these businesses here that you guys were able to get working with the owners here to try to identify that and if if it was available to us and with this being a main roadway what's the timeline you expect on this staying closed I do anticipate that it'll be closed for a while given just the nature of the investigation and we want to make sure that we're able to get everything that we need one suspect identified not in custody is there a potential we're working to identify get a good suspect description we know of one suspect okay and potential for others not at this time if you could just one more time kind of just speak to you know this was uh clearly multiple people were here anyone really could have been here this is the middle of the day you know how much danger could this have put people in and you know especially it sounds like officers arrived within you know literal minutes they were here almost immediately and Community everyone was jumping in doing everything they could this is not something anyone wants to ever see in their Community 10:30 in the morning no one wants to it's noon no one wants to come around and see a crime scene in their community so it's unfortunate that this happened we're definitely thinking of the victims we're thinking of their families we're thinking of all of the people that live here and of course our goal is to figure out what happened person responsible and get Justice is the chief here he's being briefed
