so we're gonna do something different today it can it be so mad well I always thinking we'll do like rumors together or something alright so what happened to Charlemagne left cuz he had to be somewhere and then he was like I'm not staying and he left - I feel bad cuz I know we always joke around can I come I mean I'll do whatever you need now but so I won't be morning everybody is DJ envy Angela Yee Charlemagne to go to breakfast club and again we got out first off y'all not the breakfast club ah - evil clothes I'm not even wanted to play a little prank on you but I felt bad what I've learned to be in my career is a problem solved we all deal with problems really but how do we do it a problem we solve them so when Anjali told me that both of y'all had walked out on my interview of course correct I was disrespectful I thought I would disrespect I wanted to talk about how you never posed to trust light-skinned people like that and I gave you a pass let me know I love you okay but I just was like you know this is built in for the Kevin Hart sighs yes I had to put a little box up on it here here's the thing now fingers what do you think about all of that from a comedian oh gee comedian like yourself I think at first thought I think enough is enough you know I'm saying and like like I've listened to all the interviews and and I think it's I definitely think it's unfortunate because all the people that are in the beef are being successful that's the crazy brand is successful but the thing is sometimes people don't respect everybody's come up everybody got different coming up yeah you know I'm saying people like I came up from the streets well maybe that person didn't come up from the streets they had another path to victory but at the end of the day they won and I also think it's easy for people to say well that's just my opinion that's just my opinion but everybody on the outside once you have a humble opinion about that when he was shooting at Tiffany Haddish and everything first off the first thing I thought was crazy was how to host Wanda you know I'm saying I thought that you know when he said you're not a good interview I agree with him 100% you know saying she was trying to put him in a corner we all know what the demons that a Katt Williams has dealt with you know I'm saying in me traveling and doing morning ready every time after a while you get sick of the same question and she was trying to put him in that situation where he reacted like that he reacted now on a comedian I do media language I kind of understood what Katt Williams was trying to say you don't saying people people get to a certain level certain route you know I'm saying as Tiffany Haddish being on a hundred city tour no I'm saying I have test Tiffany Haddish been a headlining country a headline Academy across the country no but she had a different path everybody else was out on the street Tiffany Haddish was our date she was auditioning now that could have been the question how many auditions you had before you got there her perhaps she's a TV star and I think when I'm a movie star TV movie but she start on stage for what where's was trying to compare was he was trying to compare the people that been on the ground for years and years of years banging out an hour of comedy every night you don't say before Tiffany hazard blew up she was in and this is no disrespect I loved her she was a feature she was a strong feature headline every one time she added Daniel can I get some roll word this was like three or four words ago three or four years ago but at the same time she she sacrificed when I wrote to commit to being an actor to put in seven position now some of the things that Katt Williams said I could respect it more if he was said I appreciate her hustle she started when she was 15 she was a foster kid you know I've said how many success stories you know of people that came from foster homes and have made it if he would acknowledge that everybody acknowledged I would have kind of understood some of things would say I think that was throughout that whole interview I think that was the most unfortunate part about it because you got to give her a problem you can't you can't do that I was gonna just that you acts crazy question son if he cute I'm never gonna just man if he's cute or find anything and you do a lot of booty talk to son I listen to you three times on a radio and you talked about doing see and did you always endorse it no look away your sister go back with the booties you know when you talk about the booty the pipe joint said I know this certain age you got to deal with but you got to talk about it you may dislike you have a conversation while insertion is going now they'll be like this he said he flees Johnson the booty war then he goes then he goes Nega you go for booty joy I said you know you really need to go and he says he's never heard anybody got a reminder but booty to keep my gatekeeper they held I don't really know if it was anybody there was a gate keeper but it was people that gave me opportunities is that the answer you do you believe in gatekeepers um I believe you saw my guests yeah I believe in gatekeepers but I believe you can go past them you don't stand like especially in the in the in the and where we and now with social media I give you a perfect example just hilarious yes I remember it was probably three or four years I remember like a random a DM it wasn't nothing nasty but she was she was breaking into comedy right and she asked me like what advice would you give up incoming comic coming up I said don't ask for advice let the microphone be the true test of who or where you gonna go and the reason why I said I don't think there's any truth gatekeepers because I said at that time she probably had like 75 thousand followers yeah and the rest is history you know I'm saying seventy five thousand follows to four million followers to millions and millions of fans to being on one of the top networks in the business you you don't at one point what when I first started you had CBS NBC ABC if you wasn't had a relationship with Ito's he wasn't yet knowing right but now you can create your own opportunity you are your own geikie because it's in certain cases unfortunate because I don't think that how many followers are true testament of how funny you are you know I'm saying but like to go from seventy five thousand followers to millions of followers to being respected and everybody hated on her it was like oh she's a social media comedian but I just seen her work I didn't see her and make the industry and the people come to her back in a day there was a lot of gatekeepers but now you your own gatekeeper and it's like what work you're gonna put in that's what I'd be saying and they be trying to tell me no that's because you and the Illuminati and you can't reveal the secrets no I feel the same way you feel Jessel arias DC young fly even caught it be from the music standpoint way like they did there are no gates there are no gates but people like a testament of how well you're gone as what type of hate is that you have hmm you're always going to have haters people hate on DJ envy if you go to DJ envy Instagram page and you see his lifestyle you know why they hate them because they envious his name is representative of what people hate you don't say and people look a pious they hate on you they don't like your last name they don't believe in God a person like Angela if it's women that have selfish love self-esteem don't work for anything and they see Angela yeast shoe collection they like how that [ __ ] get all that people look at where you are but they don't look where you came from and I'll tell you with any success story and you've heard this from Warren Buffett and many of people people that make it and people have a lot of money they don't talk about the money no more the the most exciting thing to them is the kutzle to come back when I rocked when I hook up with Tracy Morgan i hook up with some guys it's been in for a while we don't talk don't talk about the [ __ ] they got now they talk about where they came from in that hustle that's the most interesting thing about the come up is how hard you had to work and you got past it did he Rob Stapleton a bit I didn't trust him he was talking about Tracy Morgan yeah and he felt like um he had the film that he was working on and he hit up Tracy Morgan about it and well he tried to he went through somebody that was close to Tracy Morgan cuz he doesn't have his number anymore and he was upset that Tracy Morgan didn't even look at the film to see about helping him what the whole thing is this is nothing man nobody Oh you anything nobody anything this man right here and I had to get over he's gay he said something to me and I was like yo son post his joint and he told me he said you'll build your own Ark and they'll come and mice response that like [ __ ] you [ __ ] steel post my [ __ ] I wasn't upset about it for a minute I was like oh no but you sometimes the best left lessons in life or the toughest lessons right and he had not told me that I would have been always feeling like somebody owe me some out of felt like because the relationship I had with him a guy code in the past you supposed to do that but it woke me up don't answer anything you build Rob stapling he was upset but don't nobody know you anything I guess Rob was upset because he felt like he wrote a bunch of things for Tracy even if you told him no he would have liked for him to have at least yeah but you can't like we first off if you want to ask somebody for anything prepare yourself for them to say no right if you're not prepared for that do you ain't prepare you know I'm saying like don't ask somebody something assuming that it could be a whole bunch of things you like that's the story they robbed oh it could have missed something underlining but a thing like this the things like this with me is when I get rejection or people don't wanna [ __ ] me it makes me go back to the drawing board I don't I'm not gonna complain about nothing if I if I if I have an audition and I don't get the role of oh you know what I'm gonna write a better role you know I'm saying that's the type of stuff that builds you're not gritty you know I know it was supposed to play the Katt Williams role I was opposed to play about the auditioned audition for and it was like I'm not a real good audition I'll tell you straight up I'm like 50/50 you know he was supposed to be on power but I was like and this is how I say our room for the next man the audition I had I was like nobody's gonna [ __ ] with that audition I was like nobody I'm calling my agent so did we get the offer when you're gonna call right and then after a while you know they're gonna call if reduction is two weeks and it's a week and I have ears and water man now good just let me speak my pizza but I really thought nobody's gonna be dealing when I heard it Katt Williams and I only heard because when any type of bus is going on around but I heard he got it I could see why he got it cuz cat waves is a type of person they were actually own alligator whoa and he's our wiry dude he's that you know that that outer-box do and and I was happy that he got it cuz you look at yourself like why didn't I get it like when I started casting or whatever it was it's done casting he did a great job and with that said the most unfortunate thing about the Haute if aney Haddish and cat whims situation people forget Katt Williams won an Emmy the same night Tiffany one and she said I see you when we go pick up our Emmys and have you talking about and you know Katt Williams career he's been up and down but his same time the streets loved him there's no denying he's funny as hell he's put to work and I thought that it was unfortunate because people talking about the Tiffany Haddish and Katt Williams said that situation but it should have been talking about can't win is bad you know saying but he got an Emmy off of one character on one show and it was every issue of mainstream America except here whatever that was answered with an image you get an Emmy right now just did you kids move into some with this a doe you know you talked about Wanda you talking about interviewed to see the bad thing with Katt he don't do many interviews right right so when you get up somebody in there you want to know everything about them so that's why she probably asked about the jail stuff in Orlando that ain't why she just acts about this [ __ ] she does some crazy [ __ ] no and it was me comin straight I was fresh off of a TMZ it was it was and it was fresh I don't think that that was that was unfortunate and I think about that interview it when he posed to be about cat where this is my red grant you saw was really grant laughing in the back right you know what I think about the cat thing that silly too is like he he talking about Tiffany and girls trip but you got an Emmy for the same thing somebody wrote that role for you and I'm Atlanta yeah I would rather talk about me yeah let's go die know what I don't consider myself a rebel phase you travel so much how do you write new material for your show I go and I go in it I don't write me to new material I go to where material is you're not saying like I'm out in the streets I'm out in people I'm connecting with people that's the best you have to sit down and write if you just sit in the house and just try to write a joke it's gonna be it's gonna be hacky it's gonna be contrived you trying to force it but if you just surround situations like everybody especially your comedian people you'll say some people like oh that should be on the stage and that's where I'm writing from like been real life I want to be on record by saying and I always say this Donnell is one of the top three comedians in the country you ain't always a barrel of Chris Rock bunch over the years he always funny but I've done Ella's on a different level stand-up comedians out here who ain't Chapelle grandma and I appreciate you saying that but at the end of the day man everybody want to come up here talk about this person that doing that person but you got to realize we bless they say it's 5% of the people in the world to get to do something that they really truly love so you know nobody got time for that who thinks for this is the most offensive word for a comic you ain't you ain't any situation you heard what beef it wasn't the money it wasn't all that stuff it was saying somebody's not funny no no let's be clear you are officially part of The Breakfast Club officially officially and what since you're not getting paid if that's what you asked I do man on street y'all never talk about it they don't think I'm man on the street accidentally stumble on me like oh yeah he drops every morning for revoke whoops where's my key card can I get a key card yeah it's not gonna work I think we want you of your life no I just yeah but I am people real people love breakfast go everywhere I go people people love the brush club but they always say why you let them [ __ ] would you you didn't have that look on your phrase the beginning you was like you let me ride like do you think that you should look out for your haters now your way you fuel your haters keep succeeding yeah I'm saying like Kevin Hart didn't happen you know Kevin Hart has been taking the hydro for so now Harley's for a five foot dude to take the high road it's almost impossible without an Apple box is something to stand on but after a while you're gonna say um you'll say enough is enough you want to address it I like the way that you are kept your career going even after Chappelle's Show it's like he had a career before that before that but a lot of up and downs - when t3 24 years what people think is like um you when you party shows like the wiry part shows like Chappelle's Show those shows are so iconic people want to compare the rest of everything you did to that it was a driver underwire yeah I was on a wire the first episode the first season in the last season in the corner I was on the corner - but I was supposed to the first season my character supposed to develop but it was so much on issues with the Baltimore tourism boy on the depiction of Baltimore because it's always about heroin addiction so Davis Simon was under pressure that's why the storyline went from the towers to the docks they had to switch the storylines and when he switches storyline my character got lost but Davis Simon he's pretty loyal to actors he worked with in the past so he brought me back on the last season why I was excited about it but I was nervous at the same time because on the HBO anytime it's the last season of anything - the writers get vindictive they start doing evil stuff like on last season Oz it was dudes getting raped on oz a 21 us what so they were just like no I'm just going through the bathroom Nickelodeon robbed you know but that was I would say - um I was it was a magazine in Entertainment Weekly did a story it was a top 100 television shows of all time and Chappelle's Show in a while we're both on it so if you know like I say anything I may be a part of two great shows would you consider Chappelle of gay people um I don't I wouldn't consider him a gatekeeper I could I consider him as a person that can make opportunities of course he can make opportunities and the thing is a lot of times reason why people don't want to give another man opportunities because they're afraid they're afraid of what they're gonna do they're afraid they that their principal outshine an adjustment to Dave's character and you know I consider myself a beast on stage Dave will put me on the road the average airline is not [ __ ] with me because they wanted soft they wanted they wanted like they want all the excitement to be when they come on stage and for Dave when I'm gonna show him Radio City Music or wherever we travel nobody knows that I'm there they're like DJ Drama who's normally the resident DJ Trump but he'll be like okay guys we already started show we got a special guest you see him on the wire you get a claps couple claps you seen my spider-man until you get a couple claps but then he'll say but you fell in love with him as ashy Larry from the Chappelle show and the room goes apeshit you know I'm saying the average headline is not gonna want anybody to get that reception before they go on I go up there I do my thing and then him being the person he is he come right behind it two different styles two different energies my stuff is but a lot I'm right there he's slow he's he's he's more of a boxer you know I'm saying I'm a brawler he goes up there it makes that transition from my energy to his energy and there's no know everything you say it is accurate except for the crowd going apeshit no no no what when they bought a mighty Radio City they go ancient apeshit no they did go crazy if I don't know and they always talk pieces on me just I mean you perform in like the smaller venues I went to go see you in Brooklyn right across from the juice bar yeah at Casablanca and when I tell you it's Darnell Torre down in there it was crazy those dopes the reason I like my Carolinas to Carroll he killed care those places like the Radio City Music Hall those big those venues like that dead like then a showcase venues you know but you really want to see a Tesla true comic like you say find him in an intimate environment finally in a smallest situation like 70 people I give you I had them that was I want to downtime quick story there's a celebrity chef I won't say that name celebrity chef with my son when I was having babies my baby my son's baby shower I wanted this celebrity chef - you know like come and help me with the food for my son's baby shower so I reached out to the chef and we were all good all good I was like what can I help you and we were all good with this like they pulled away I don't do open like this is my interview right now all right back to you deciding to cook because you cannot cook I hear the story so the celebrity the celebrity chef I guess they got to a point where it was too big and it was like Daniel I don't do open mics do you do open mics do you continue oh my I said yeah now only I continue to open mics I had just did a show at Radio City Music Hall 6,500 people got offstage got in the car and with the Brownsville and perform for 15 people yeah so at the end of the day you can't never stop shopping your toolbox you can never stop in the toolbox what without stuttering okay this is about you go go go Don Aramis is an actor a writer from Washington DC he's well known for being a cast member on the Chappelle show he made an impact on the show with his character ancillary and his iconic phrase I'm rich [ __ ] I threw that in here here's a series of sketch comedy clips on his from ever on don't do that son one is from Ashley see album Rollins has had multiple successful shows and radio city musical an actor has made appearances on the widest madmen - he was in the air force for four years Rollins is also a police officer in Washington Air Force waited to become a police officer in DC or what happened I went to work for this grocery company he's been head of security for this grocery company and as a form of camaraderie we would go to the comedy comic comedy connection to Greenville and we would go to go to club and I used to heckle the comedian's on stage so we should go every week and I became popular as a heckler comedians was coming could you let me do work on the material don't mess with me today and I became so good at a heckler that uh the club owner wanted to shut me up he this is how I started he dared me to go onstage I wasn't excited about doing it then two weeks later I went on stage and drove in originally oh yeah I was 100 saying I wasn't but I was so I started I was I started people started coming to see me echo and before I even told a joke I try to negotiate a deal I did a MV joint I said uh listen I've increased your business by 30% I say I've increased your business by 30% as a heckler I think it's time to cut me into this and I should get some his profit they look to me like I was crazy they dare me and you had a gun in the Air Force I was a worst cop everyone stopped in four years and that was the stop it was this girl and this was before the hold me to things and she was she was scandal eclairs candy yes you know this and uh yeah I need more time she told you no I'm not following it you never had me on CNN 20 years later I don't know what but I know you're at Caroline's which means we're at Caroline's this weekend and I also want to say I started Live Nation just invested in me not a major investment but I'm trying to break this cycle of I do a lot of I do a lot of comedy clubs if you look at my schedule I'm kinda because almost every weekend but I'm trying to graduate to that theater mode you know I'm not gonna play myself a thing I could go sell out at 3000 cedar in Detroit another one you know what and I don't know if it's premature but I've been on the road for Dave Chappelle pride for the last four years and an almost after every show he says to me you're ready so but there is I miss you a lot but I want things I do appreciate about your Instagram page is that you've got a lot of success people look at them like I was saying earlier they don't look at how you get it and I was one alone and it wasn't for a couple years I didn't know that you was in real estate the way you are but for a person to get to success is you have and I only just want to keep most people like I'm gonna be the [ __ ] and keep it to myself the fact that you got doing you're teaching these classes and you showing people how to flip [ __ ] I think that that's some dumb [ __ ] but I think if be on the moon not about 80 jobs you know you know that's the whole purpose is trying to encourage the youth and encourage people that look like us that that don't know how to do it because I didn't know how to just do that to get out of house property about to flip Mars and Gina I have a lot of brothers the brother in question is doing fine again because that's the only brother you ever [ __ ] he's my brother my brother sing I'm fine now he stopped that long time ago yeah he stopped a long time ago ever since he changed you have one fan son and it's gone out Rollins average that's it that's it I just want to say I just want to say this stop the [ __ ] let's get back to what we do make it people laugh nobody nobody nobody I don't like my guess is I don't do names [Music]
