hello my name is Sequoia I'm here at Pacific domes interviewing Andrew in sales today to help us answer some of our most commonly asked questions about domes so thank you can you tell us some of the most common sizes for problems yeah so for our dwell domes if people are looking for maybe a dome for a couple two people two adults I would say probably the 20-foot dome is a good size that allows you have a queen sized king-size bed and a couple nightstands maybe a writing table and then perhaps the changing area off to the side I would definitely say for a larger family two adults two kids maybe 24 foot so it's a manageable size and those are both sizes that can be assembled over the course of a weekend it doesn't require any kind of serious heavy equipment or anything like that so it's a very manageable size it's also something if he can be you know packed down to a pretty small package you could put it in the back of your pickup truck and route across the country and put it up again yeah I think so with some with the lofts it's a little tricky right so it would definitely be think of a tiny home so it's not a full size well height ceiling but you can certainly put a sleeping area up there for the kids and then as far as the bathroom goes I would say yeah you could put a small bathroom I believe in a 20-foot dome like make it a little cozier but the 24 certainly have the room to put in a kitchen the bathroom and get those amenities so permitting is tricky it's the first step would be to go to City Hall or whoever issues the building permits in your area it varies from County to County so that would be the place to start the main thing we tell our clients is when they're starting this process is make sure to use the language temporary structure because that's what our domes are considered temporary again they can be taken down within a day or two and transported and so you can get away with using this alternative residence or alternative structures basically I swear I'll start stripping Ribery goes a long way you take them some baked goods what is the lifespan um um so the frames and the covers are different lifespans the frames are galvanized steel and they're virtually indestructible we often say you know unless something like a tree limb something impacts the frame really your frame should last 3040 years you'll go through many covers replacements before you'd even need to address that frame for the most part the covers are usually around 10 to 12 to 20 years I know that's a very broad spectrum of time but it depends on the environment that you're in and maintenance that you do on your covers we have another video that kind of talks about how to maintain the covers of your dome the part that will need to be replaced sooner than anything else is marine grade vinyl windows or bay windows that we use those are more like around eight to ten years and with our newer domes now they're removable so they can be zipped out and then replaced relatively easily great and what is the turnaround time after a demo in order so our lead times are usually four to six weeks on the smaller dome so smaller being I would say about thirty six feet in diameter less and smaller so give us about four or six weeks obviously that's all dependent upon seasonality if we have a large event dome or two going up it may be a little bit longer yeah about four to six weeks do you operate deck Flynn I don't but no we have we have deck plans available on our website at Pacific domes comm those are just kind of generic deck plans to give you an idea of what to expect with building a platform or a deck for your dome certainly if you have a professional like a contract or building a deck for you that's fine follow their lead the main thing is that we would need if you're building a dwell dome is to make sure that the platform that their deck is sitting on is the correct dimension and size so it's more of a faceted shape and we have to get the dome up off the surface whatever service that's sitting on for the cover to work that's not cryptic answer but yeah there's a small part of it that's very specific but we do offer those measurements when you make your Dell market what is the best way to heat and cool your dome so there's different ways to do that you can if you have the infrastructure like electricity you can certainly eat your dome with electric heat if you're more off-grid or you're going for more a natural solution I guess you could say you could hear dome with a wood stove or a pellet stove I know kerosene stoves have got very affordable price of kerosene as far as Levi's involved is also a little more for all as well too but you basically want to stay away mostly from propane propane as a moist heat creates moisture in your dome you want to avoid that I would say that would like a wood stove is most ideal I think this is a nice dry heat any moisture and cooler dumb so cooling we address cooling by offering vents screens rather so the round windows that you see on our domes those could be removed and replaced with with screens also we have screens for the roll-ups that are at the bottom of the dome so a lot of cross ventilation is helpful another thing that we offer is a product that's called thermo shield it's not something that we make but we were a dealer for them the thermo shield is a paint that is highly reflective of harmful UV rays and so in places you know in the states like New Mexico Arizona or Arizona for instance that have a lot of direct sunlight we highly recommend is the product called thermo shield and you can find more information on that it's at thermo she'll calm is an amazing product that's been around for 30 40 years I think as long as we have much enjoy today you're welcome thank you so clam hi everybody you
