DO YOU COPY? - Horror Firewatch (Asylum Jam 2017)

hey guys it's John and today we are playing do you copy this is a free indie horror game created in under 48 hours for the 2017 Asylum jam and it's from one of my favorite developers that regularly participate in the asylum jam I think they go by space octopus last year they made an excellent game jam game called the devoured dead I didn't upload it to YouTube but I did stream it there's a link to that stream in the description if you're interested as well as a link to all the other asylum jam games I've played I believe the premise of this game is that you're in a watchtower at a national park and you receive a distressing call so let's go ahead and check it out all right grace wind park I guess there's no subtitles tower - this is tau for I copy over taking off in the night parks all yours is what you said please remember that hourly check-ins are mandatory and should be responded to promptly sir yes sir all right this is pretty cool copy this is fire tower four over I'm lost in these must be them okay sure where are you though what how far away he is so as much stuff up on the board up here whatever I do I'm on fire watch buddy the dope man the carnation rock trail you're leaving the carnation rock trail okay so I assume you're by the wild side trail take the left path over yeah yeah don't take the long way around I guess okay so that means it's gonna be coming down here and I meant tower four so I want him to go right at the next path not left cuz looks like there's bears there hello what'd you say bra bra bra I said run hello I don't copy could you repeat over [Music] I should be up to you any minute right you didn't say anything hi I guess it was the goat man look at this oh I wish I could move them oh they're the same thing looks like sometimes it might have wings and sometimes it might have multiple limbs what I I did yes yes I did I just keep on the path okay you're almost here yes no I didn't listen I'm not by the window right now what do you see any landmarks yeah there's a big-ass lake a mine well no I add towards the lake it'll put you back on the trail over yeah yeah you do yeah you you definitely quote owe me one how the heck did you get all the way over there look the path to the mine is all the way to the right you went past the Bears I mean that's what you were getting chased by yeah don't go the mining tunnels what it's mostly fun they rambling again yeah yeah it's kind of creepy out here creepy I listen to you carry on and on about things chasing you look at all these Sasquatch reports Leeds is what it says is this Graceland Herald local man arrested suspect a connection to missing person and then we got some missing people reports here and here missing since 1991 yeah I don't think we're finding them see awfulness two all park visitors due to multiple reports of bears in the vicinity please use the alternate paths marked on your map interesting stop putting cardboard cutouts of movie monsters in the woods please not attempt to repair any damaged park structures without first consulting with Graceland park services see ya they're mandatory what are they hiding Sasquatch sightings UFOs goat man who was Michael leads they were mentioned here right anyone any way ok what's this I think it's dates or something oh I guess it's not so bad though Ivan writes it about to hanging great conversation should I make it run should I make it run okay don't go there there's bears take the secondary trail a bit further ahead yeah actually actually you're not even supposed to be here because there's bears something like that just six the other path he'll be fine what [Music] oh okay okay okay I'll turn back on dude the heck what's going on what I heard of thumping did I die oh I just had a weird thought what if he was the monster and he wasn't seeking rescue he was seeking to come eat me maybe I should have turn the lights on then okay I'm gonna try it again cuz that seemed unintentional okay they just turned off huh sure it does I'm not doing it this time I know why this pops up you don't sound too panicked you're going that was really cool what happened is that it ah I really like the premise of this game the endings are really jarring though so I guess that I guess that's the the true ending though because the guy you're talking to is the monster that explains why when you turn the lights on he knows exactly where you are you hear that knock on the door and you die oh man that's creepy I like the I like the premise a lot I think it would be cool to see it may be blown out a little bit more like as with most game jam games the endings are a little rough they're a little jarring and this one's no exception but I really like the experience it was really neat and yeah good everything good sounds good you know realistic voice acting and yeah it's like a horror fire watch for you know 10 minutes I'm not sure how you could expand this concept into a longer fuller game but maybe it's okay just have it it exists as a short experience like this so yeah let me know what you thought in the comments I don't have much else to say except I thought the ending was a little jarring and the thing with the dialogue that that answer coming up really annoyed me but you know it was main less than 48 hours a fewer than 48 hours I should say and I mean impressive work but yeah these guys always put together a solid asylum jam entry I think that their game they submitted last year the devoured Dead was the best of all the entries that here and it's a shame that it wasn't anywhere near the tough choices I like the asylum jam but I never agree with the winner choices at least not in several years and I'm not saying this one deserved to win the game jam but it's the best one I've played so far and I'll play a couple others I'll play the ones that that one the jam but this was definitely the most creative one that I played so far and I've played a lot that I haven't uploaded cuz they're not very good so I'm trying to just upload the good ones hopefully this one fulfilled the criteria let me know what you guys thought and I'll see you guys and the next video think critically
