- This looks like dish soap in my kitchen. - Look, it looks so cool like, bonk! - Why did this stay in the '90s? This is so good! (laughs) ♪ (upbeat intro) ♪ - (FBE) I hope you brought an appetite, because we're gonna see how well you know '90s snacks. - (whispers) Oh my God. I'm not gonna know any! - Oh no! Okay, it's exciting, let's do it. I eat more like Indian food, so this is gonna be a good culture shock, I'm excited. - I was born in 2001, so all the '90s stuff is kinda like just right behind me, like my brothers introduced it to me more in terms of music and movies. - (FBE) So there's a twist. We'll present the foods to you out of their packaging, and you'll have to guess the name of each snack item. While some of these snacks are still around today, all of them originated or were at peak popularity during the '90s. - (laughs) Okay. Oh no! - That kinda scares me a little bit, 'cause I don't know what I'm eating, but it's you guys, so I think you're gonna give me some good food. - I don't even know candy nowadays, 'cause I don't eat candy. So I'm just completely at a loss. - Surge, Dunkaroos, I guess, Capri Sun was a '90s thing. Wacky whoa, we're gonna eat some food, just you wait! ♪ (rock music) ♪ - I'm actually really freakin' hungry now! (laughs) - (FBE) Let's not waste any more time! Let's get to the eating! - Alright, bet! - (FBE) Alright, unfortunately, our first snack is a beverage. - A beverage, that's fine. - (FBE) Here is your first snack. - Whoa, what is this? This looks like a magical potion. - This looks like dish soap in my kitchen. - What is this? - (FBE) Well that's what I'm asking you. - What is it? (laughs) - It smells like Sprite. It's probably not. - Is this like Mountain Dew or something? It smells like soda. - Now that is good. - I mean, it tastes like Sprite. It has, it's definitely soda, right, it's definitely carbonated. - This totally just tastes like Mountain Dew. Honestly, it's a little bit better than Mountain Dew, 'cause it's a little bit sweeter. - It tastes really familiar. Oh my God wait, no okay, so this is definitely not Kool-Aid. - (FBE) So do you know what that is? - I wanna guess, is this like the Ecto Cooler drink or something? - 'Cause it's green, I'm just gonna say Mountain Dew? - Mountain Dew. - I'm gonna say it's the carbonated version of Kool-Aid? - Surge, baby! Slam it into your mouth and taste the Surge! - (FBE) So this is Surge. - Surge? Like, what is that? - I felt a surge, like ooh, you know? Okay, I got you. - (FBE) This citrus flavored drink was created by the Coca-Cola Company as competition with Pepsi's Mountain Dew. It first launched in Norway with the name Urge, and it was so popular, it was introduced in the U.S. as Surge. - Oh yeah, they had to add an S. Of course! - Because when you think of '90s, you think of over the top, wacky, crazy things. So like Surge! You know, like it's green, it's electric, it's got like that logo and stuff like, you know it when you see it. So that's like a '90s staple. ♪ (quirky interlude) ♪ - (FBE) Here is your next '90s snack. - Oh my gosh, I literally was craving Nutella today, and this looks like it tastes like Nutella. - This looks like first generation Nutella sticks. - Ohhh! I can tell you, people at school have this, this is still a thing. - So this is a mouse. - Dunk-a-roos, yeah! There's a kangaroo! - I'm actually pretty sure I know what these are, because of the animal on them, and because they have made a comeback. Like, I've eaten these before. This chocolate's hard though, actually. Like, not like hard, but it's not, if you could see, audience, it's not like smooth like Nutella or something. It's probably about as gas as Nutella. (cookie crunches) - That's good. - I might say this is better than Nutella. - That is not good! - Mmm, there's a little aftertaste, but I actually like it. - I don't remember if I ever tried this, but I feel like it would've taste like Pocky. - (FBE) Do you know what it is? - I do not know what it is. - Chocholatey-mockety. - Box and chocolates, I have no idea. - Dippin' Dogs! - I'm pretty sure these are Dunk-a-roos, right? - This is Dunk-a-roos! - (FBE) So these are Dunk-a-roos. - Oh, I've heard of that before! - Are these really Dunk-a-roos? - That's a kangaroo? Could someone just, please? That's not a kangaroo! ♪ (quirky interlude) ♪ - (FBE) Here is your next '90s snack. - Oh my gosh, it's so cute! It's like little breads. - It looks like miniature garlic bread but like as a cereal. - (whispers) I know this one! - (FBE) You know this one? - (whispers) I do! - (FBE) We have milk for you to pour in, because obviously milk with cereal, but we wanted to give the option of having just the dry food. - Okay, gotcha. I will take that into consideration. I'll eat it first just dry. - It's french toast! Wait, wait, wait, wait. Is this a cereal I'm actually gonna like? Hang on. Eh. - It's the proper way to make cereal. Milk after. - Why did this stay in the '90s? This is so good. (laughs) - So good! - It tastes just like Cinnamon Toast Crunch! I like these! - It reminds me of like Cheerios, but like the less healthier version, 'cause it's like a little sweeter. - I would take this over Cinnamon Toast Crunch any day. - (FBE) So what would you call this? - I'm just gonna go with mini toast? - Toasties? - Breadios, or Loafios. - You know how they have Honey-Os? So maybe like Honey-Bread-Os? - Toasty Cereal Crunch. - French Toast Crunch. - It's French Toast Crunch. But that ain't right, wait, is it? Yes, I did something! - (FBE) That is French Toast Crunch. - French Toast Crunch, oh man! That's actually, that tastes exactly like french toast, now that you mention that, that's interesting. I didn't even think about that. - Wow, that was actually not bad, but yeah, it tastes exactly like french toast now that I think about it. - That's a very like, not-creative name. - (FBE) These got discontinued in 2006, but then were brought back by popular demand. - Oh, I didn't know that, and now I'm going out and buying some actually after this. - Oh, so they have these out right now? Oh, guess who's gonna stop by Albertsons. - These are so good. Like, I would, this might be my favorite cereal. It's so freakin' good. ♪ (quirky interlude) ♪ - (FBE) Next up, we have another iconic '90s treat. - Oh, a Fruit Roll-Up! - It's a Fruit Roll-Up for God's sakes. Who doesn't love Fruit Roll-Ups? You're, I'm sorry, you're weird if you don't like Fruit Roll-Ups. - Yay, Fruit Roll-Ups! The thing that my mom never let me buy, and every single kid in the playground would have one, and they'd be eating it, and it's like a competition, and my mom was like "grapes". - Fruit By The Foot fun! What's on the end of yours? - I had no idea this was like a '90s snack, this was always in existence for me since the beginning of my time. - I don't typically eat candy, but things like this, I always ate. You know, 'cause I was immature, and I was like "hey what happens if you put it in your mouth!" (laughs) I have a long tongue! - I always mush it up like that. - Just gonna break a piece part, 'cause that's how I do it. I don't let it hang from my tongue. - Fruit Roll-Up! That's what it is. - I used to know the exact measurements of these. 'Cause I heard it in a YouTube video one time, and it stuck with me, but unfortunately it didn't stick with me this far. - That is one thing I always hated. This thing right here. This little frickin' thing, like, what is this? - Always the best part, always the best part, the end right here, mmm. - (FBE) Alright, so do you know what that is called? - Fruit Roll-Up, a.k.a. one of the best treats ever invented. - It's a Fruit Roll-Up. - This is Fruit By The Foot. - Fruit By The Foot. - Fruit By The Foot! - It is Fruit By The Foot fun! - Fruit By The Foot. Ding, ding, ding, ding! - (FBE) So this is a Fruit By The Foot. - What? People out there, you and me know this as a Fruit Roll-Up! Forget what they're saying. - (FBE) So marketed as three feet of fun! The paper backing often contained jokes, games, trivia, and even Nintendo 64 tips back in the day. - Nintendos, imagine that. I couldn't imagine like opening my Fruit By The Foot and getting like a PS4 tip now, like that'd be so weird. - Companies need to start doing that currently. Learn from the '90s, man! (laughs) ♪ (quirky interlude) ♪ - Oh, you guys are playing with me. Just stop! - Oh, is this a Fruit Roll-Up? - (laughs) Tell me this is a Fruit Roll-Up. - You go through these in like, so quick dude. I'd be sitting, just playing video games, I could probably run through like a whole box of these. - It's got a little tongue tattoo. It's a Fruit Roll-Up this time. Fruit Roll-Up. Yeah, fruit, nom. - (mumbles) Eh, uh-huh. Huh, huh? - (FBE) Nope. (laughs) - It was not even close to there? - Whoa, this is weird texture, I like this. - If you don't mind, just gonna... Mmm! - This is one of the few times I actually like something sweet. I don't like sweet things, really. Om. - Fruit Roll-Ups, they're good. - It's so good, I'm having so much sugar today. - (FBE) Do you know what this is? - Fruit Roll-Up? - Fruit Roll-Up. - It's a Fruit Roll-Up. - Fruit Roll-Ups. - Fruit Roll-Up. - (FBE) You got it! - Yes! It's so good, oh my gosh. I forgot how good artificial candy is! ♪ (quirky interlude) ♪ - Oh my gosh. Yes! - Oh wait. (screams) Okay. Oh wait. I've heard of this. Is this, wait, I don't remember what this is called. - Push Pop, baby! (laughs) I forgot! - Push Pops! These are so fun. - Yeah! (laughs) Okay, I love these. Okay, wait what? There's a spring? - I swear, I know what this is. - (FBE) Okay, what is it? - Why am I forgetting the name? - Strawberry. - It's got that red flavor. - Looks, looks just so cool, like bonk! - (laughs) Fun for hours. - It looks good, but I don't really wanna stain my tongue entirely blue for the rest of the day, and I know that these things do that to you. - (FBE) So, do you know what it is? - Fruit Pop. - Push Pop. - Push Pop. - I'm pretty sure this is a Push Pop. - Push Pop? - Push Pop. - (FBE) So this is a Push Pop. - God damn it, okay. - Push Pop! Oh! - You can have like different colors, you could like customize it. At school, you could like change them out, so like you'd have a different one with like a different color on the inside. Super fun, I love these. ♪ (quirky interlude) ♪ - (FBE) Alright, final thing. Let's take a look at this '90s classic. - Oh, what? Okay, these are sick. I never seen this before in my life. - Is this like a Kinder Surprise? - Kinder Surprise Eggs! No, these are not the Surprise Egg. These are, I don't know this brand. It's like a Kinder Surprise Egg. Like the old ones that are not legal. It's got a cool little coin. That's sick! - It came with a Goomba coin? That's so sick! - Are these like mints inside? Mints? I mean mint chocolate is a thing, but like... Oh, it tastes like a Smartie. - Those are not the best. - What is this? - That sucks. Oh, that's awful! - Mmm, the chocolate's good. - These are like SweeTART Luigi heads, which are pretty gas. And then this is just like default chocolate. - (FBE) You know what that's called? - Mint Chocolate Egg-ios. - Is this just like some kind of Kinder Egg? - I'm just gonna say a Kinder Surprise Egg. Something along those lines. - I don't know if Kinder Eggs existed, but I'll just say Kinder Egg. - I just know it's something like Wonder something. That's all I remember. - (FBE) This is a Wonder Ball. - Yeah, no, I wouldn't have guessed. - Darn it, I thought I was gonna get that one! - (FBE) Originally manufactured in the mid-90s with prizes inside each ball, these chocolates were discontinued towards the end of the decade due to concerns over choking hazards. - Absolutely. - (FBE) They came back on the market with stickers and candy in 2016, and prize versions now use a capsule to avoid the concerns. - Yeah, I was gonna say, like, I don't know how you'd fit all this in there, and then like, that's some crazy science. - They should've just left it there with the choking hazard. Like yeah, it was a choking hazard for a reason, let's not bring that back. - This kind of stuff sucks, you know? It's cheap chocolate with a really bad tasting candy with Yoshi on it. You know, like, it's not that good, but I'm keeping this coin.
