[Music] are back it is so good to see you in yes hey we're not in my office today we're out getting a little vitamin D much-needed vitamin D and today guys we're gonna be talking about kind of a follow up to a video that we just launched a few days ago on DG is new Mavic air 2 that they just released now today we're gonna be talking about intelligent flight modes out of this drone right here particularly the hyperlapse modes that DGI is crammed into this this drone right here now hyperlapse is not new for this particular drone DJI actually came out with it back when the pro 2 in the pro to zoom came out to the market but there afford them in here that are pretty badass you have Waypoint you have circle you have course lock and you have free we're gonna show you how each one of these works we're gonna give you some sample footage to kind of stick your teeth into and you stick around to the end of this video as well you'll learn about our current giveaway which has over four thousand dollars worth of pretty badass prizes that we're giving away so my friend pull up a seat let's go alright guys new location yesterday as I was recording I had set my phone to silent thinking that okay hey they'll keep any ringy-dingy ease away and not in our audio here and so last night I get in front of Final Cut start pulling in all my files to start creating this video here for you guys and the audio from the screen recording software was not there it turns out when you have your phone on silent it does not record audio going into the program so we are down in Silverado Creek it's beautiful there's some nice yellow flowers out here there's a cool kind of mountain set over here that we're gonna do these hyper lapses with today so anyways we're going to dive back into I only have the one mic so I'm gonna turn this off put the mic into here so we get a good pink I'm sorry get a good clean sound out of the audio from the phone recorder itself so let's get that going and let's get up in the air [Applause] all right to get into hyper lapse mode okay what we want to do is on the top right here you're going to click on the top right icon right below the three dots alright that's going to open up a slide-out that's going to give us a variety of options you have photo video quick shot and hyperlapse we're gonna click on hyperlapse once this is open we have four options that we can select them we have free circle course locked and Waypoint we're going to start off with free here taking a look at free this is I have to say out of all four of these this is delete the one that I used the least myself as you can see it says set shooting parameters aircraft will automatically shoot and create a hyper lapse video so now in this particular mode here you have full control over the drones direction the altitude and of course the gimbal direction the drone will take the shots based upon the interval and the time that you sent so to select free all we're going to do is we have it selected on the top and over on the top right there right above the red button we're going to select that again alright so we have a few options here in front of us a few things that we can do we have the interval okay you select interval you can choose from 2 all the way up to 15 seconds and if you notice here when I move it up to 15 seconds current battery level may be insufficient to run this whole thing good the longer you put the frequency between or the interval between each of the shots obviously the drones could be up in the air longer and it's gonna require a lot much much more battery and this works hand in hand with I'm going to keep it at 2 seconds but see 5 seconds if you had a longer the reason why it says you may not have you may have insufficient battery is if you have for example a very long the lapse that you're looking to do here 15 seconds between each shot yeah I think it's gonna be up there for a very long time just look in point you know right here we have two seconds interval and to get a 17 second hyperlapse you can see around the top there it's going to take 425 photos and it's going to need 14 minutes and 10 seconds that's nearly half of the juice that we have right now I'm gonna reduce this down to five seconds okay we'll just do it five second video hips if I can get it on there boom all right so as you can see with doing the five second video it's good to take a hundred twenty frames and it's going to need four minutes in ten seconds to do this you hit the checkmark off to the right okay you can select off to the right the speed and it just it's a sliding scale and I'm just gonna keep it right where it's at three point four miles an hour hit the checkmark and to get things going over on the right-hand side all you're going to do is select the red button and boom so it's gonna start taking photos I zipped it up there for a moment you might be able to hear the shutter going off so this thing is just taking photos until I decide to start moving it and I'm gonna move the right stick forward to get it moving forward here's the thing with free mode you want to make as gentle kind of sweeping movements as possible then that's going to try to minimize that jerky feeling that you might see with a lot of these sort of videos and or hyper lapses in this particular mode and I'm going to turn down this road just a little bit here and again I'm just barely moving the left stick now to kind of turn that front nose around and I'm going to gently pull off of it here look there we go and I'm going to give us a little altitude right now and we're at forty three photos out of a hundred twenty-five I'm going to bring this up to 200 feet and I'm gonna call it a day and 206 close enough all right I'm actually surprised there's some water in that Creek down below we may see it depending on where this yeah we should cross over it California you don't see too many creeks out here with water in it and all right now I'm gonna sweep it just a little bit to the right here cuz I want to follow this green right below us some just the left stick I'm just bring it in to the right just a tad there and that's the thing again you want to make small movements here and that's going to avoid that jerkiness at the end and of course DG I just came on and gave me a heads up that the shooting sequence is almost to a end I'm gonna get this I'm gonna bring down our gimbal just a little bit here for the last closing few shots boom creating our video okay guys next we have circle and this one happens to be there's two of these that are my absolute favorite circle in course lock these two I absolutely love and then I would have to say Waypoint is my third and of course free is just honestly again I just don't use it this is going to make a cool spot for a circle hyperlapse know ideally normally I want to have something moving in the clip that just makes it a lot more interesting but well we're out in the middle of nowhere right now so we're gonna make do with what we have so to get into circle what we're going to do is on the top right we're going to click on to the free icon right there and right below free you're gonna see circle we're gonna click on them now that says select a stationary target aircraft will automatically shoot and create a hyper lapse video is centered on the target so here's the cool thing with this here depending upon well let me take it back to them something that you want to keep in mind here the further you are away from the subject it's going to take a lot more shots in order to be able to go around that verse and obviously a lot more battery's going to be chewed up as well so depending on how far your subject is away from you the further away you are the longer that takes for the the drone to do the hyperlapse circle so all right same as before we're gonna select the circle we have that selected now we're going to right above the red button select on our circle now of course we have a few options here just as last time we have the interval again two seconds or you can go up to 15 we're going to keep it at two I'm gonna keep the video length at five seconds the speed yeah 1.3 miles an hour seems good and you have the choice of choosing between counterclockwise or clockwise and in this particular case I'm going to go counterclockwise alright so what you want to do here is you want to select the object that you want to be your subject matter and what you're doing is you're just drawing a square on on the screen and then I'm going to hit the red button off to the right and the drones going to make a few calculations here and then it's going to get the party going and here we go folks so it's going to take roughly four minutes to take these hundred twenty-five shots here for us and incidentally if I haven't put it up on the screen yet I'm going to speed these things up in post so you don't have to wait here all right we're about 80 shot to do 125 [Music] okay the next hyperlapse motor we're gonna be talking about is course lock and as we can see here aircraft will fly in a preset direction to shoot and create a hyperlapse video no matter its initial heading so what we're gonna do here is we're gonna make sure we have course lock selected it is right above the shutter button we're going to select the horse lock icon that's gonna bring us over to the main screen for it over on the left-hand side the first thing that you need to do while in course luck is you need to select and figure out the direction that you want to go and I'm just gonna move this forward just a little bit here here's something to keep in mind guys awesome when shooting a hyperlapse you're gonna see here in a moment I'll show you a horse lock that was done when there was no motion actually in the hyperlapse itself and this goes without actually technically any of the hyperlapse modes here when you don't have motion that is in the shot for example this case we have cars moving we had the excavators and in some of the earlier ones something's moving that makes the hyperlapse that much more interesting so we have the cars off to the left and the freeway here the first thing we want to do is we're gonna select the direction and I'm gonna point this thing right over here I'm going to select the unlock button that will turn that into blocked all right so this is the direction that we're going to go I'm going to move the gimbal down I'm going to select let's see if I can select the tree or something over here right I'm gonna keep the interval to the same I'm gonna move the time down to five seconds I'm going to hit the check mark off to the right I'm going to keep the speed at 1.3 miles an hour and now to get things going I'm going to hit the shutter button off to the right and here we go so those could take four minutes eight seconds to take 125 shots and if this does this correctly here it's going to keep that shrub in center frame now the another point to keep in mind guys is when you're shooting a course lonk hyperlapse you can give two choices you can either have a subject in mind or you can just let it do its thing and it's going to create a hyperlapse based upon the direction that you set the drone into so when you when you select the subject it's going to keep that subject and center frame regardless of the direction that the drone is heading in all right we have just a few shots left of this hyperlapse and looking at this in retrospect I probably should have had the gimbal pointed up just a little bit more because I was looking to get more of the freeway in as the as the primary subject a earlier test that I did I was trying to lock it on the overpass sign and it wouldn't lock on so I figured the tree would work but and there's just too much of that fields showing well regardless here are a few examples of some course lock hyper lapses all right moving on to the last one Waypoint so let's get up into the main menu system here last one down on the bottom Waypoint so we're gonna select them at set multiple waypoints to generate a flight route aircraft will automatically fly along the flight route to shoot and create a hyper lapse video all right how this works is waypoints are basically just points that you want the drone to fly to you obviously need two or more to make this work so the spots that you want the drawer to fly a point or fly to are called waypoints the drone is going to take into account the direction the altitude camera facing direction and all that other good stuff alright so let's get Waypoint going we're gonna select right above the shutter button the waypoint icon this could bring us to our main screen alright so what I'm going to do here is I'm going to keep this pointed down right here and I'm gonna hit the plus sign over the left hand side this becomes our first Waypoint so what I'm thinking here is I'm gonna drop altitude just a little bit I'm gonna come forward okay and I'm gonna raise the gimbal just a little bit so we get a little bit of that freeway sign I'm gonna select the next plus sign here which becomes our next Waypoint all right I'm going to swing this and move this forward all right and let's see here I'm just trying to figure out which direction we want to go with this okay so I'm gonna back it up for the last way point that I'm going to do with this I'm gonna just kind of back it up just a little bit and hit the plus sign all right so we have three waypoints here hit the three dots over on the right-hand side we're going to get our other options that we have so we have the normal interval we have the the length that we can make the video and here's something new here you have normal sequence so you have the choice if you hit normal what the drone is going to do is going to fly back to the first Waypoint and it's going to start there now what I like to do is I'm gonna hit this button in so now it says reverse sequence so rather than flying and using unnecessary battery to go back to the first Waypoint it will actually start right from the last one and kind of fly the route backwards so I'm gonna hit the shutter button off to the right here and here we go four minutes nine seconds to take a hundred twenty five shots part of this sequence and boom just like that so now it's going to render the video for me and it's going to tell me that we're running low on battery so that's it guys alright guys there you go for hyperlapse modes of the DGI Mavic air - a lot of fun huh now just keep in mind though the first handful at times that you get out there and play around with these you can take practice just make sure you have follow safety regulations and do it on a
