[Music] hello everyone now as I mentioned last week I've been working on building my brand-new dream closet I want my closet to not only be beautiful but also organized so I've been working on little projects for my closet to help make it ready run a lot more smoothly like this rotating makeup organizer Cara's hell I mean last week well today I want to show you how I made this crystal lit lamp along with a few other silver display pieces that not only sparkle and light up but also double the whole my earrings necklaces and bracelets I also made a display piece for my rings and other things and coming up next I'll also show you how to make this functional little jewelry lamp rotate for this closet project I'm starting with a few silver and crystal glass candle holders I made last year to make this I went to Goodwill and found some tarnished candlestick holders and some crystal glass pieces and decided to put those together i spray-painted the stands with silver looking glass spray-paint and I use e6000 to glue the crystal pieces on top along with my stands to make my jewelry display pieces from Dollar Tree I picked up a ten and a half inch clear glass plate a round silver serving tray two seven inch clear glass plates one small glass prep bowl two eight inch round cake pans diamond wrap ribbon one two and three quarter inch round push lights a few pieces of clear round of glass gems an optional a pack of small round glass beads also optional I'm using a few small round gemstones you can find a tub of these at Hobby Lobby from Walmart I got a set of silver coat hooks and from the hardware store I got this garden hardware cloth screen what 1/4 inch squares and to put everything together I'm using utility wire a hot glue gun with gorilla glue sticks and gorillas clear grip glue so like I mentioned I already made these elegant silver and crystal pieces by attaching these crystal glass candle holders to these silver candlesticks stands I always like to make a trio of pieces that match so I picked out a few of these that I wasn't using because I had quite a few that I made for Christmas so I'm gonna start by making a simple display stand and I'm using the shortest candlestick holder for this one I'm just going to attach this 7 and 1/2 inch glass dish on top I'm using my karela clear grip glue to place a layer of glue on the highest point on this last candle holder and I'm going to make sure the dish is perfectly centered on top I like to rotate the piece just to spread the glue out and remove any bubbles and that's it for the stand I'm going to set this aside to let it dry but you could use this piece to display whatever you like I'm using this for my rings but you could display bracelets or watches or any piece of jewelry will look elegant on this stand next I'm going to use the tallest piece to make my jury lamp I want this particular piece to rotate so I'm using two round cake pans to make a rotating base if you place one pan into the other pan you'll find that you can rotate the top hand around pretty smoothly so I'm going to attach the top portion of my piece to the top pan and that all allow my piece to rotate since I want my base to have that antique silver look I'm going to use this round silver serving platter and attach that to the top pan I'm putting my khalil of glue around the top flat rim of the top pan and attaching that to the bottom of the serving platter you also want to make sure that silver pan is nice and clean free of fingerprints because next on top of that pan I'm going to attach a clear ten and a half inch glass dish and I want to make sure that's clean on both sides also so I'm putting glue on the bottom rim of this plate and I'm going to attach that centered on to the silver platter so I'm doing this to bring in the same silver and glass look that I have on my stand to my base and now I'm going to attach the silver candle stand to the center MyPlate now the last piece I'm gonna glue on is this mini prep bowl I'm gonna attach this right at the very top of the crystal candle holder and I'm using a small prep bowl to hold my push light I want to be able to shine a light into the crystal glass piece so that when it's lit it'll look like a really beautiful crystal bulb okay so I'm going to put glue right at the inside edge of the crystal candle holder because that's where it meets up with the bowl and make sure when you put the bowl on top it is straight and level if you have a level use it to make sure the bowl sits up nice and straight now I'm going to set that whole unit aside to dry for a bit and while that's drying I am going to decorate the bottom part of my base the stationary part of the rotating unit so I want to bling this out I'm going to use a little diamond wrap and I'm using the hot glue gun with gorilla glue sticks to stick the diamond wrap on now after the glue has had a chance to set I'm going back to my large piece and what I want to do is inside the small prep Bowl I'm gonna glue a few pieces of clear glass gems I'm gluing four pieces right in the bottom of the bowl right next to each other so that they're almost touching and the reason I'm putting these gems here is so that I can take the push light and put it in upside down so that the light was shined through into the glass so I can just tap the back of it to turn it on and tap it again and turn it off and those little gems will help me to turn on the light as I push it down so now let's set that aside and work on our land shade now for this part I'm gonna put on gloves because I am using a wire sheet that I actually already had but I got this from the hardware store this is a garden wire sheet sort of like a fence or a screen for animals chickens rabbits but I thought this would make the perfect jewelry lampshade because it has lots of little 1/4 inch squares which would be perfect for holding earrings and it's also stiff enough to hold the shape of a lampshade ok so I cut a piece that was about 16 by 8 and I want to make sure this will fit around my light and I think this is about the perfect size because I don't want it to extend beyond the plate I'm gonna have hooks also extended I think my necklace is so I want everything to be contained inside the width of the base and I love this wire shade also because I can completely see the crystal bulb through it to make my shade I am taking the two ends and bringing them together and I'm using a steel piece of galvanized wire and this is about the thickness of the wire screen and I'm using a long piece of wire I'm going to twist tie the top where the two ends meet with the end of the wire and I'm gonna thread the wire in and around the hole of each opening as I go down the scene and you can use needle nose pliers to help tighten each loop wrap the excess ends around the shade and then cut it and use the needle nose pliers to curl the ends of the wire inward towards the inside of the shade then you can use your hands to make sure it's shaped into a perfect tool by squeezing that seam in work okay so not only do I want to hold my earrings on this lampshade I also want to hang necklaces so I found these coat hooks at Walmart they came through in a pack for about five dollars and I am going to attach them around the top of the lampshade so I'm going to take my wire again and thread it through the nail hose in the coat hook and attach that to the top of the shade I loop the wire around both holes and twist it in the back and I also curled the wire under and made sure it's attached tight and secure so I attach three of these evenly spaced all the way around so I have a total of 6 hooks to hold my necklaces now to take care of the sharp edges of this shade and to make it prettier I'm going to use some diamond wrap around the top and the bottom edge of the shade now the ends of this wire is still kind of sharp because there's some pieces that are sticking up that I from cutting it so what I want to do is I'm going to wrap the diamond wrap around the shape but I'm going to leave one row of diamonds above the edge of the wire shade I'm also gluing a diamond wrap over the top portion of the hooks to cover up that hole at the top but I'm leaving the bottom hole exposed but not only am I going to put diamond wrap on the outside of the shade I'm also going to put it on the inside of the shade and also here I'm gonna make sure that one row of diamonds extend above the top of the shade so if I do touch the top of the shade I won't cut myself because the edge of the wire will be enclosed by the diamond wrap I'm doing the same thing for the bottom part of the shade now my jury lamp shade is complete with soft touch top and bottom now let's figure out how to attach it to our light so I think I want the shade to sit about around here a little above the light and about the same amount below the light so I think I'm going to extend some pieces of wire from this crystal piece to attach to my shape I want to have about 4 pieces of wire attached to like a circular piece in the middle and I don't want those wire pieces to move so what I'm going to do is I'm going to pull out a long piece of wire I'm not going to cut it but I'm going to twist it so that it's about maybe 6 inches long so I'm gonna wrap this around 1/4 of the bottom of my prep Bowl and let the long twisted piece extend out I'm gonna make sort of like a cross so I'm gonna have one piece at the bottom one at the top and one on each side so where the side portion would be which is 1/4 of the piece I'm going to make another 6-inch twisted extended piece and then I'm going to position that around again and find the position for the next four and then twist out two more long pieces now that I have all four extended pieces I can attach that to the bottom of my prep bowl and then twist the end of the wire around tightly to the last piece I also added a set of y-your attachments to the bottom of the crystal glass just to make the shade extra secure now before I attach the shade I thought I added one extra touch I'm going to cover this little hole up at the bottom with some diamond gems I already had a big tub of diamond gems I got from Hobby Lobby a long time ago they last forever so I'm going to put some hair in at the bottom of the shade okay so now it's time to attach my shade I am going to put the top wires inside the shade and bring the shade all the way down I'm putting a light on so that I could see how it looks with the light and I'm gonna use the bottom wires to adjust the lamp shade so that it sits in the position I want after I got the positioning right I'm going to use those extended wires to attach to the shade I'll use the needle nose pliers to twist the wire around and then cut it after the top is attached I'm attaching the bottom why use the same way and the two levels of wires will help this shade from flopping around when you're putting jury on it or taking it off now the last thing I want to do is to sort of decorate this light top of the light since that's going to be showing I want to cover that with Diamond wrap I want to be able to open the back so that I could change the batteries so I'm just gonna cover the back part of the tap light and not only do I want to cover the back cover of the light and still be able to take it off I also want to cover the black part that's on the side of the cover so I'm going to cut one strand of diamond wrap and glue that to the side edge of the cover and you want to make sure that it doesn't extend below the bottom of the cover and now your light matches your piece and you can still change the batteries when you need to now that my lamp shade is all done now I can put my hope he's on top of the rotator bass I want to make sure that is clean inside here so there's nothing stopping it from rotating now this does rotate pretty well but it's a little bit stiff in a little bit slow I think the weight of it is making it a little harder to turn now to make this turn a lot easier what you can do is put a layer of small glass beads in the bottom pan toiletry has packs of assorted glass tiny beads and you could use that at the bottom of your pan preferably two round ones but I'm just going to dump this whole pack in the pan and sort of spread them out evenly and then when I place the top hand with the whole unit on top and rotate it it rotates a lot easier it rolls over those beads and it can go a lot faster and smoother it is however a bit noisier also do remember when you picking this up these are two separate pieces especially with the beads at the bottom so you want to hold them together or just be aware that there are two separate pieces now for my very last silver and crystal piece I could use this as it is and just put juri inside of it like rings or whatever but I think I'm going to use this as a vase and put some pretty flowers in it now these flowers I made these are my coffee filter flowers I had these already from another arrangement and these are my realistic peonies if you'd like to see a video on a high made these you can click on the link above so to prepare these for my crystal vase I'm just gonna cut the stems pretty low put a piece of tape around the stems and keep them together and wrap a silk ribbon around the stem and tie a bow at the top [Music] and I think this pretty little bouquet will look very lovely next to my jewelry and help brighten up my closet so here are my three finished jury display pieces together and I think they look really elegant antique and awesome now if you can't find the silver candlesticks and you want to do this with all dollar tree pieces you can't recreate this with Dollar Tree items you could use Dollar Tree glassware and spray-paint the stems with silver looking glass spray paint Dollar Tree also has crystal cut glassware that would work well for this Animesh basket for the shade you will have to cut the top out to work the light stone now let's fill these pieces that would jury to see how well they work this why you shave can home tons of earrings I have places for all my necklaces and all my bracelets [Music] and now I have no problem finding all my rings and brooches because I can keep them displayed beautifully on my new silver and crystal stand and this piece is just perfect as just a
