Today on Mike attempts, band saw wall mount. I got a portable bandsaw with the intention of mounting it to the wall and upgrading the shoe to a small table. I cut a piece of plywood 3-1/4" wide and drilled a hole 3" down from the top. It'll slide under the top hand grip to hold up the saw. I used my jigsaw to finish cutting a 1-inch slot. With the plywood slid under the top grip, I measured to a flat ridge on the back of the saw and cut a triangle to fit. I drilled pilot holes and secured the triangle with two screws. So far, so good! I cut a smaller triangle that will sit just below the speed control. This piece only prevents the saw from moving to the right. 2 more screws and it's solid. The ratchet strap was all I can think of to get the correct angle. Nice and level. I cut 2 larger triangles at the proper angle and attached them to another piece the same width as the first. After mounting it on the wall, here's a good look from all sides. This design could be adapted to work with any brand of portable bandsaw. this The saw fits great and it couldn't be easier to remove. Now I'm going to replace the shoe with a larger plate made from some scrap aluminum. The bandsaw is great but, because of the angle, I had to make this cut with my Hackzall. To give the blade some extra space, I drilled some small holes to make a slot. I removed the material between the holes and it turned out well. I then cut a slit from the front of the plate so I can change the blade without taking it off. To remove the shoe, you must first remove the blade guide rollers. With that out of the way, it slides right off. I also removed the T-block to mark the holes on the plate. I countersunk the holes so the screw heads would be flush. After shining up the plate with some metal polish, it's looking good. Longer screws were required to secure the plate. The button for the light is still easily accessible and a velcro strap holds the switch down. While a switched plug turns the saw on and off. If I need it to be portable, it comes off and goes back on with ease. See the description below for links to the parts and tools I used.
