hey guys fishing and stuff today we're building a portable bandsaw table and that's pretty awesome so stick around [Music] today we're building a portable bandsaw table from a portable band saw that I got for Christmas last year sorry honey I'm a busy guy and I think this DIY is gonna be very useful for future projects I use a cut-off wheel a lot to cut stuff but cut off wheels can be very dangerous as this can blow up and hurt you if you're not real careful it's happened to me several times so I'm thinking this is gonna be an awesome DIY and speaking of DIYs if you've never been on my channel before go check out my home page I got a long list of DIYs that might help you save some money and if you like it click Subscribe and click the mail so that YouTube will notify you when I post videos and you can watch them now let's quit wasting time let's get into this for today's build what we're gonna use I got a piece of 3/8 inch stick you could probably go 1/8 inch but I wouldn't go less than that because this is gonna be our table for a bandsaw I got this little piece of 3/8 inch this was what I used for the sides of this but we're going to use this to hold the saw on this and two bolts you could just cut a piece out for this plate but I already had this laying around I need some angular so I got old bad rail here it's just a old bad rail I've had for a long time so I'm gonna cut it up and use it to build our table and the only other thing we're gonna need is a saw a portable bandsaw I got this from last Christmas my wife bought it for me and I've never did this project yet I've got a big band style that cuts would I want a bandsaw for steel I'm using a Milwaukee which cost a little bit more but you don't have to use a Milwaukee Harbor Freight has these Bauer I think the name of our band saws they're like a hundred and forty bucks 150 bucks but they go and sell all the time for $89 go to Harbor Freight and get you one of those it'll work just the same they're pretty much the same so I know for a fact that these Milwaukee's are made in China now so I don't see a big difference I guess the first thing I need to do is clean this plate up I'm going around these ages some so I don't get hurt on them cleaned outside and cleaned the surface rust off of it and get ready to start building the table first [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] after a whole bunch of sanding I got this really smooth got some scratches in it but I rounded it out of the corners off and you want this as smooth as possible because this is going to be your tabletop kind of like on a real bandsaw you want a solid smooth surface a regular band saw hasn't grooved the seed can change your blade out this little plastic thing pops out and you slide your blade through here so the next step will be to cut our groove and our marker won't it where I want the center of the bandsaw blade to be on the table I'll draw a line and then I'll probably use my bandsaw itself to cut this line out [Music] [Music] on this channel here where the blade rides it hits against the table and won't let it sit flush right here so I got a knocked out of place for this channel to fit into so I'm gonna mark it then I'll just take a flat disc or something and grind it out [Music] the sauce slides right in there now not only did I cut the notch out so the salt would fit in there flush but I also took the jigsaw and I opened this up a little bit after I could it's easier to slide in and it's got a little bit of room so the blade don't get pinched now I'm gonna flip this over and I'm gonna clamp it down to something I'm gonna set my soul on it upside down and I'm gonna figure out where I need to put my two boats at I got a weld beast boats on they're gonna go on either side of this plate and then I gotta make a strap to go on it and this is gonna hold the saw to the table [Music] so I got me an idea for everything's going to be setting marked out where I need my holes drilled so now I drill out my holes and that'll tell me where I need to weld my bolts on to [Music] now transferred my hose onto here I drew a mark so now I just got to put my boat on that line it up I'm gonna tack weld then I'm gonna put the other side on tack weld it but I'm gonna check everything before i weld it down good and make sure everything's lined up right [Music] so welded my boat song and put my clamp on and this thing's working out better than I could have hoped I flipped it over and I clamped it to my wheel table just because I wanted to see how everything look everything's looking really good it's got a tiny bit of play that's the plate on the Bauman's clamp twos got a little play that's not gonna hurt nothing and you see this groove I cut in it with the jigsaw is about perfect the blade doesn't touch anything it's not gonna get pinched and here's a piece of angle iron and this thing line is aluminum and it is 90 degrees you couldn't really ask for it to be much longer than that now I'm gonna flip it over and let you see the bottom how clamped it up a little bit closer now you can see the bottom how I got it clamped that plate on the side right there slides in and out and it's got a little bit of play in it but not much I just basically welded me some bolts on so I can clamp the plate down and it hosts a hole saw to it I'm gonna flip it back over and try it out before I go in your father alright so back here in the back there's not a lock on the switch you can pull it but it won't let you lock it this here's to adjust your speed up and down I'm gonna take a tie strap and I'm gonna tie strap this handle down and then I'm gonna plug it in and let's check it out [Music] [Applause] [Music] yeah this thing works awesome and I think it's gonna help me out a lot in the shop gonna make things safer if nothing else you know since I bolted this to this table it got me to thinking I think I'm gonna change up my build I don't do that very often but you remember I was going to use the old bed rails I had and I also gonna do is use that ain't learn off of it to make this into a little table but I think what I'm going to do I've got this hitch that I willed it onto it when I made it originally it's actually a receiver and this is a hitch this is an old hitch I used to use on my truck but you can slide it in there you can put a pin in it well I'm thinking what I do now I'm gonna flip this over so it'll set higher I'm gonna grind the paint off this side I'm gonna put this table on it and I'm gonna mark off where I need to weld it and I'm gonna weld it to the hitch that way I can just stick it on into my table and use it instead of setting it on my world table and it being this high [Music] yeah I like the way this turned out this is pretty cool this is hanging on the hitch now this is pretty slick right here I think this is gonna help me out a lot if you don't have a welder you could still technically make this table this clamp that i welded the bolts on the bottom with you could just drill two holes countersink them and run you a boat through the table and you wouldn't have to weld those bolts on I'm just saying that bandsaw table turned out awesome I guess I can throw this away yeah I better keep it hey guys if you like this video then click that like button and if you ain't subscribed then what you waiting on and as always I appreciate you watching and I'll see you on the next build [Music]
