DIY MARBLE COUNTERTOP TRANSFORMATION | How-To Epoxy

hey guys so today's video is going to be a little bit different we are redoing the countertops and fingers crossed we are going to make them a look at the Lego marble I've just been researching like crazy for like six or seven months trying to find out how I can make my countertops look as good as they could possibly look without having to spend tons of money and getting you know brand-new countertops so basically the goal is today to make my countertops look like I have brand new countertops and hopefully they look like marble you're super shiny and they're even more durable so the actual product is by a company called diamond coat epoxy or a countertop epoxy which I will link down below for you guys they also have a youtube channel that shows that except how to do different techniques and different designs different colors things like that so if you have a professional line and then like a DIY like you know mean you kind of mind I will leave both of those down below so you know if you do live in an area where they do offer services you can even you know pay someone to come out and do it for you or you can just do it yourself anyways after doing all my research I feel like they were just the most educated and just solid in their education I'm teaching how to do it and the techniques and just the actual product itself I'm gonna kind of take you guys to the process a machine is how it works I'm also having a company come out and renew my sinks because I currently have a solid surface countertop and basically what that means is got my things are built into my countertop it's all one I actually found the guy on Instagram his name is called surface savers and he deals with you know solid surfaces sink replacements and just came across him one day on history my oxygen you know how I came across him but I did and I'm so glad because no one local to me removes solid surface sinks because it is such a against a risk for them to remove them if so many things could happen like your countertop could get destroyed and fall apart and all of that but this guy he does really amazing work from what I can see online so I've actually having him come he travels like all over the US which is so awesome he is actually coming today and he is going to remove my things for me and then I'm going to epoxy the countertops and then he's gonna put the sinks back in and again I'll let him talk when he gets here I asked him if he would be in my video and he said yes so I will let him explain himself a little bit better when he gets here today but yeah I'm so excited to share this with you guys and just give you another option of making your home beautiful and your kitchen countertops without having to spend so my 21 thousands of dollars and replacing like your actual countertop so I'm really nervous but I'm very excited and I can't wait to share with you guys the end result so I will see you guys in just a little bit preparation is truly key with this project you guys I cannot stress that enough being really organized is gonna help the entire project go a lot smoother so we started off by sanding the entire countertop with a 220 grit sandpaper basically what this does is just roughs up the surface so that the epoxy will adhere to it really well and then you want to go in and clean everything up all the sand dust the dust just all of the debris with 91% isopropyl alcohol then you want to go in and tape all of your cabinets off your floors off just so that the epoxy doesn't accidentally get on anything and to be really honest we did go a little overkill with the plastic but I just wanted to make sure that my new floors weren't gonna get ruined and luckily they didn't but we did go a little overkill so don't use too much to where you trip over it but make sure everything's covered I've already kind of introduced you but if you want to go ahead and just let them know exactly what you do my name is saver fix quartz granite marble we replace things in all services including saucers like and from Micah and we'll snarf we take burns of resin we polish base polish we fix cracks in all the materials Kress we travel as far east as Boston New England Florida and we've traveled as far west as abadan in California and of course everything in between we're able to do this relatively inexpensive compared to replacing all the countertops which usually means replacing the backsplash and breaking things and becoming a nightmare it's easier just to come in and retrofit and it looks better than new two places you can visit my website [Music] www.rinaldin.com and i have every ounce of information that you would ever need about doing your countertops but I just wanted to run through and show you guys a little bit of what goes on in some footage that I have of actually just applying it you guys have any questions at all please be sure to let me know I'd be happy to answer them for you guys and yeah let's go ahead and get started [Music] -
