what's up guys my name is peter winkler i know a bunch of you guys are trying to start home gyms in 2021 so in order to help you guys out here are my home gym hacks number one flooring all right gym flooring the only jim floyd you're looking at is four by six horse stall mats they have various top layers mine looks like these and they have grooves underneath that allows moisture to run through them they come in four by six sheets four feet by six feet sheets and they are three-fourths of an inch thick this one is a cutout from the daily platform that i made that's why it was so small and tiny anyways do not buy please please do not buy the amazon or walmart gym floor foam tiles they are not gym floor anyone who's ever been to a gym and steps on those bad boys knows for a fact that's not gym flooring a couple reasons why one of the main foundations of lifting is your feet your feet have to have a firm platform to lift off of and those like foam mats are squishy they are gross they chip they scratch and they grow mold on them which is disgusting and pocky you sick anyways please don't buy those if you already have them you already know what i'm talking about um it's just a waste of money and plus these four by six four three by six feet three-fourths of inch rubber flooring which feels like real gym flooring they're only like 40 bucks a pop tractor supply um various other outdoor good stores i will put a link in description for them but this is the only gym flooring you should be looking at all right cool next up we have gorilla tape this magical sticky paper this wonderful things first you can use it for your flooring you can put the tape between all the seams that way it keeps it from moving apart and also prevents dust and stuff from falling down in between them next if you have a wonderful squat rack and your squat rack has attachments this one's for bridge belts and lovely company however they did not put uhmw in all of the different insides of the attachments which is fine i mean it's not a big deal just cosmetic however if you want your rack looking as clean as possible because it's an investment you want to make sure that you protect any metal metal contact so what i did was i put gorilla tape in uh the inside of all the attachments preventing any metal on metal scraping scratching whatever and it keeps your rack looking nice next we have shop lights because this is my gym without shock lights so shop lights fantastic pieces of equipment i bought them from home depot they're not too expensive either i got two of them they're each about three feet long and they connect together which is super dope and they don't have any crazy wiring to do all you have to do is hang it from the ceiling and then plug them into each other and then plug into an outlet super easy anyone can do it as long as you have a screwdriver or hammer or drill you are set also i'll put the you know image of them so you can buy them and link in the description all right next up is spray paint specifically black textured rust-oleum spray paint so one of the main things i did during the hi the pandemic was i was trying to outfit my home gym so buy gym equipment that was super cheap because it was rusted out and basically abandoned and if you didn't want anymore so i'm gonna buy it i would clean all the rust off of it i would uh paint him with this black tissue paint to prevent it from any further also make it look much newer and then i would either keep it for myself or i would sell it resell on facebook market so a couple of the main things that i spray painted i'll show you right now this wonderful ghd was once white rusty abandoned dirty and i cleaned it all up and then painted it that black textured paint color next we also the lat pull down which is also left outside for a long time a bunch of rust on it a white faded color with lots of chips painted it again with that russellian paint now it looks almost brand new next up wall storage in my mind one of the most important things you can do for your home gym is to maximize your space one of those ways is to get all your equipment that you can up off the floor one way to do this is wall storage now wall storage from like rogue fitness and stuff like that is pretty expensive do i want it yes of course you have the money for it no so what i did was a much cheaper option that i think also looks really nice and you can do it for very cheap maximize your storage with these wall hooks these are two 30 pound chains being held up at that one hook and makes it look much cleaner than if it was just hanging on the ground next are the same style hooks that are hanging up my safety squat bar and then down the bottom i have some bike hooks that are hanging all of my cable attachments all right it's a video for home gym hacks hope you guys enjoyed it as always please like share and subscribe but that's the channel out and if you guys have any questions make sure to drop them below i'll be sure to answer them thank you guys see ya [Music] you
