DIY - 5 gallon bucket gravity drip irrigation system for trees or bigger plants tutorial

So here we are on a follow up video of my gravity drip irrigation system. the purpose of this video is to find out how is to find out how long it will take to drain a 5 gallon bucket using the same irrigation system setup. On a previews video i used a two litter bottle which lasted over 10 hours to drain if you haven't seen that video you should click here. The items we'll need this time are: a 5 gallon bucket a 5 gallon bucket cap 1/4" irrigation tubing and a 1/2 GPH dripper GPH stands for gallons per hour. The tools we'll need are: a drill and a 9/64 drill bit. All links for these items and tools are listen on the video description area below Let's drill a hole near the bottom edge of the 5 gallon bucked using the 9/64 drill bit; insert the 1/2 GPH dripper; connect a section of the irrigation tubing to the dripper and we're all set, the length of the Irrigation tubing will depend of where you need to re-direct the water. I've place these bricks to raise the level of the bucket and to avoid the dripper making contact with the ground. Fill the bucket with water and cover it with the bucket cap to avoid debri getting inside. I've also made four holes on the cap using the 9/64 drill bit to allow for proper drainge flow. If you notice a leak on the dripper connection, allow for the water to drain or remove the water from the bucket and add water proof silicone caulk around the dripper and let it dry per the manufacturers recommendations. The total time it took to drain the 5 gallon bucket was 96 hours which equals 4 days! This setup is ideal for bigger plants or trees or on a situation when you will be gone for days and won't be able to water your plants or trees.
