Direwolf - Ark Ascended Basics - EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW!

so have you ever wanted the best floes in all of Arc I present to you the direwolf hey how's it going everybody welcome back to Arc Basics I'm flinger and today we're going to be discovering the best floops of all of Ark the direwolf these guys are absolutely amazing we're going to talk about the ins and outs the ups and the Downs the all arounds and just every little thing that you need to know about direwolves these guys are absolutely amazing not only do they harvest meat and uh other things with uh better than a hatchet does they are actually really really good at doing a whole bunch of stuff um yeah namely mean one of the things is one of the best things is they are able to hunt down animals now wounded animals here look at this wound that guy now he is actually yellow which means that he that now he's white which means he's dead that guy's dead too and apparently the trons over there are going to be picking a fight but yeah these guys they're absolutely amazing so if you see wounded things and when you're riding on one of these things if you see anything that's yellow or you see anything that's uh red then these guys are they're showing hey there's a wounded animal over there if it's white it usually means it's a corpse ready to be looted so hey free loot yeah it's pretty good it's like this guy right here apparently this dodo picked a fight with something which means that it is w wounded and damaged same thing as this D right here apparently picked to fight with a brono which means that I kind of want to get out of here all right let's go talk about a couple other things these guys can actually do because they are amazing at quite a few different things not only are they amazing solo mounts but they're also really good pack animals all right now you can tell that they're pack animals when you have multiples in the same area like we've got the plus ones over one of their head and then the plus two over the other head which means we have a three pack which means we have plus one plus two and if we J whistle on them then um the one that we're riding well the highest level one will be the pack leader and it will actually say over the top pack leader which means that this is the one if you have them that you should be writing because this is the one that actually gives the buff to all the other little ones and here let me show you what we do with a trudon all right so we come over like this and then all fire now all of a sudden becomes howl and this pack of floes now became a pack of hunters and then we whistle on that guy and then they go over and they do massively increased damage to them they get a 50% damage boost and also a damage reduction bonus which is pretty dang cool we've got a giganta raptor over there all right you guys going to pick a fight yeah you got nothing on me all right yeah these are just wild caught direwolves and then the one I'm writing is actually uh these two have been breed it's really really simple and really easy to do but once you have a pack of these guys they're extremely fast they jump really really far not High um not high up off the ground but forward they go really really far sometimes you actually kind of have to be careful jump so far it's amazing and this buff that um you use as the pack leader will last 90 seconds for the 50% um damage buff and then also the damage reduction but also it has a 90 second cool down so it'll actually tell you up in the top right hand corner just how much just how often you can use it so here look right now we've got six point actually 5 seconds left for it to go and then once it fades it'll tell you that there is a little bit of a cool down so we've got a minute and a half so it's 90 seconds uptime 90 seconds down time that you can have it and it I mean while that buff is going these guys they can really shred into things not only are they really good at traversing the open world but they are also extremely efficient at doing the caves so I would recommend actually using one of these guys for the caves they are really really good just make sure when you're doing the caves on the back of one of these things that you wear some sort of armor that can actually be easily repaired like hide or um cloth armor but if you're on scorched Earth I'd recommend wearing Gillie because you can just repair it with the Manta stuff that you get inside the cave so these guys really really good and they're able to fit into a lot of the tighter squeezes in most caves all right not only do they have the amazing ability of being able to find corpses and stuff able to be looted they also are able to find all sorts of hidden things like this right here there's an XP buff just right there now you can go around you can use the C button or your Crouch button normally and it'll take a moment it'll Sniff and then if there's one around it'll tell you exactly where it's at it's extremely good for finding these Explorer notes whenever you're out looking it's absolutely amazing I love these guys for this and I do have to admit even though this isn't really any kind of ability they have but they do have just one of the best level up animations mean who doesn't love that that's just all the floops I'm just saying these guys they're absolutely amazing looking all right now to tame one of these guys is actually pretty easy it is a little bit more challenging just because these guys they dish out so much damage now if you have a mount I would recommend that you go on some sort of uh one that you can fire off the saddle because you will want Bolas if you're not going to put them in a taming pen I would recommend going and just getting a Dyno that you could ride the saddle on and then use Bas now the Bolas you can actually use the Bas to get them and separate them if the dyo you're writing is actually tanky enough um so you can bow because they usually come in packs of three so you can bow one go far enough away bow another go quite a bit away bow another one and then just run and then one you come back the pack will be split and you can pick whichever one of those that you want bullet it again and then knock it out sometimes you will have to deal with the other ones in the pack but most of the times they will be split now on the island they're a little bit more challenging to get to they actually spawn up here in the cold region or on the perimeter of the cold region which makes them a little bit harder to get to but down over here you will find several them that is sometimes they're actually by themselves if you can work your way down over here on say like an Iguanodon or anything like that early game or maybe even a saber-tooth or something like that if you're with a flyer forget about it you got an Argent you just go pick up one and then bre bring it back that's no problem just drop it into a taming pin but if you're on your foot if you're on foot or if you have a smaller Dyno I would recommend you go with something that can actually take a beating because these guys they can dish out a ton of damage and bullas are absolutely Ely acquired but when uh knocking these things out I would recommend uh using a crossbow with a decent uh damage on it this right here is a bit a bit overkill for it but this right here will knock them out really well just make sure that when you're knocking them out uh you do the uh um oh the 10 two method so where you fire one shot you wait 10 seconds and then you fire another shot just like that so where you have the uh um oh the two shots that are 10 seconds apart so the 10 two all right and that way there that that uh torpor buff will have the the torpor dot will actually have its full effect to be able to take effect when it comes from the uh crossbow bolt so just remember fire one shot wait 10 seconds fire another shot or else you run the risk of actually killing these things because they do have a rather low hit points when it comes to their torpor ratio here look at this guy he's actually got 7,000 torpor and mean I have LEL them up but standard this guy's about 3,000 Health all right now we're going to talk about leveling them up how would I level them up well the pack leader pack leader is easy you need a little bit of Health you really don't need a whole ton of damage unless you um decide on using a little bit you're going to need a little bit of weight to carry yourself and you're going to need stamina so out of every five levels I would say two in health one in stamina one in weight one in melee damage and just level them up accordingly once you hit about 5,000 um Health on your main pack animal when it comes to a direwolf I would call that quits and I would start concentrating on the rest bringing them up to probably about maybe 1250 to, 1500 for the stamina uh their stamina goes a long way and then weight just whichever weight that you decide is uh is necessary depending on how you like to play that's All personal preference and melee damage 325 this is actually pretty good especially with the buff I would take it up to about 3 50 and just let it sit maybe even go to 400 if all the other ones cap out early for your other pack animals I would recommend going like this because the pack animals they don't actually require a whole ton of weight or stamina or anything like that they need health and they need melee damage so I would get um out of every five levels I would go three in health and two in melee damage and that's it just leave it like that because that's really all they need and then also U these guys they do mean they are they are the best poochies ever so if you did want to have one do uh go and follow you around your base to just act like a second inventory to have your little pet buddy uh walk around base holding having an extra inventory I would recommend just health and uh weight on that because that is absolutely something you can use these guys for all right now if you're on scorched Earth these guys they're actually even a little bit easier to find they are everywhere um basically if it's not the uh big uh if it's not the big mountains or the open desert then they are there so all of this spot right through here they are absolutely just littered all throughout here so keep on the lookout by the way because they will find you and they will eat you that's right the direwolves are coming for you all right let's do this all right now you see a direwolf out in the wilderness this is how you tame it now you can take whatever dno you want and I would recommend you definitely take one because these guys they are mean but you can absolutely just do this and notice on this one right here we're using a little bit more let's wait on the 10 and two which gets a little bit tedious because I know he wants to come eat me because the moment that uh bullet breaks he's definitely going to come eat me but yeah this is exactly how do it and then prime meat mutton um well uh raw lamb and then also kibble will actually work really well but prime meat works really really well just let them starve out for about a minute throw your prime meat on it they are good and these guys will be amazing mounts and when taming these guys you can absolutely use a bowet to craft to tame these guys it is super easy just make sure that you pay very very close attention because generally when it comes around to direwolves there are more than one of them around you and just like on the island these guys also have the extra added benefit of being able to find all the XP boxes plus hidden dinos which they can also find on the island as well but the hidden dinos on here are not just peroia they're also Rock Golems so be very very careful about those but they will definitely spot them so yeah right over there there's a rock Golem just kind of chilling out there which on uh ASA are definitely harder to find which is absolutely cool all right so as the storm is going overhead sorry about the lighting sometimes you just can't get Studio lighting but hey uh so yeah that's the basics of the direwolf pretty much just about everything they can do also remember they fit um really easily inside the caves on scorched Earth as well as they do on the island so these guys are terrific caving dinos when it comes to doing all that and
