Digging for Diamonds in Murfreesboro

okay what are you supposed to do with the big ones so it's like what 45 degrees out here go down 29 last night like 45. it was in the 20s last night [Music] hey youtube it's landon with the order of the traveling hats and today i'm going to intro a video that we took uh when we were at murfreesboro recently murfreesboro is an interesting place my wife and i and our traveling companions are all from arkansas that had never been down there before i believe it's the only active diamond mind in the country and it's a state park as well so there is camping there there's rv hookups etc but the main attraction is a diamond mine that you can actually go dig in for diamonds and people find diamonds there and whatever you find you can keep so there's a little bit of incentive to go down there we decided to do this over thanksgiving while our traveling companions were up here from their home in florida we spent a day driving down there it's about two hours from little rock and we had a great time it was a little bit cold the videos ahead so just watch that i think it's kind of comical because it was really cold and we were kind of uncomfortable and probably a little bit ill-prepared for uh what we got into so we'll go ahead and cue that video [Music] what are we renting i think we get the advanced kit how much did we get well it's a 70 deposits 15 bucks but they take 70 give you that back so you give them 85 get your stuff use it as long as you're not a thieving fool you get 70 otherwise you pay 85 bucks for a plastic bucket yeah is that is that basically what we're saying that's the size okay well are we gonna get one each i think we should that way yeah okay cool let's go [Music] advanced diamond finding kit [Music] that right on top [Music] digging her first diamonds [Music] diamond bucket [Music] you gotta get my head in the shot there you go all right so it said this and this right and then [Music] huh i'm trying to get the weather to come up you can document exactly how [Laughter] yeah i'm sure it is oh there's a there's a pick on the other side of us with the bus set up oh yeah yeah [Music] all right let's go [Music] really cool you have calibrated fingers oh it's cold oh that's really cold oh it's cold [Music] smokers oh [Music] [Music] here we go [Music] you want to try this no i'm good i'm gonna look on the surface will you be on the dig crew yep all right [Music] yeah i'm not doing this yet [Music] there's [Music] [Music] um [Music] [Music] i got like three little thingies [Music] i got nothing [Music] that [Music] i think we got nothing i got this [Music] i don't know what it is it could be something it could be something it's shiny enough these are shiny enough that's nothing [Music] look there's new i found one where right here oh diamond [Music] um yeah that's what we got that's the problem yeah [Music] after you mine for your diamonds you got to come up here and clean your equipment off i feel like i'm going to get hosed oh [Music] so that's us digging for diamonds we went down there spent probably three hours total digging in the dirt and trying to sift the dirt through the water the water was about 40 degrees and we had no gloves after that we were pretty tired of that and decided to give up we didn't find anything most people i think probably don't find anything they probably find nearly one diamond per day of some size there have been diamonds that have been found on the surface of the dirt people have done that they had found a diamond there i think about a year ago that was 1.5 carats that was a surface fine so it is there you can find them we just weren't that lucky so i hope you enjoyed this if you did please like and subscribe to the channel and don't forget to click the notification bell uh it does help us in the youtube algorithm and we are a young channel and trying to build viewership so we'd really appreciate it and i hope we see you guys out there and this is landon on order of the traveling hats
