hello everyone welcome to tokyo creative play i'm your host emma and today i'm here with shiodi alex and sarah and today we're going to be comparing our languages i'm emma i'm australian and i'm a native english speaker hi namaste alex hi nice i can [Music] different languages today i'm gonna be just speaking uh english and we're gonna be going through some words and seeing how they compare in all of our different languages and just one thing my german is not perfect so uh please go easy on me again and that is also it's been a while right it's been a while it's a bit kind of it's rusty okay we're going to start off with japanese themed thing so start off with japanese sorry yeah i never thought about it but it's up to the context before and afterwards i feel but i'm not sure why and osaka they use a lot of like opposites because we have like they have nikombashi oh i hear that there's a lot of like opposites you know about what's interesting instant noodles there's no convenience stores in germany that's why they just say like 24 hours supermarket bulbasaur which is the pokemon so in german salmon it's like seed so that's where it becomes like bizarre pokeball monster pokeball what is this insane rickshaw oh is that where it comes from yeah it's actually like a japanese word literally like the power of like the person pulling the car right yeah person person power color yeah [Laughter] i think like when we all speak a different language our voice changes right yeah like japanese i'm a lot higher maybe german level spirited away sentence so that's an interesting thing because chihiro they take away the men they are and become sick which i never understood as a kid because i was like they're like ah we take away your name and now you are sen i was like how does that yeah because that's the time i'm a child spirited away so basically like chihiro and her travel into like the like wonderland oh vending machine translates to machine self-service self-service machine learning ultimate ultimate is the machine and the tanker is like the drinks okay animal crossing animal crossing animal crossing if you said animal crossing to a japanese person they wouldn't know no really they don't know no because they still would already know i couldn't imagine what you guys are talking about okay the next category we're going for is food so we're starting off with rice gohan yeah it always changes or like okonomi as well is it like right as hot right really yeah it could be but if you go to the restaurant usually either gohan like yeah angry yeah next is coffee where i remember i was so like i laughed so much when i read menus for the first time in japan and it's like you can order potato l size potato please i would like one large potato a lot of the times i guess japanese people cannot spell fried potato in english [Applause] water and then [Music] like what it is is like wind and cyber bag but yeah in english a wind bag is someone who won't stop talking okay next we're gonna move on to phrases and random words so we're gonna start with cheers goodbye so in malay like malays don't drink because it's alcohol but everyone knows this chinese or cantonese word we say yeah and post with a one liter beer [Music] not many people say i said it right i think in my life i've never ever heard that's what anyone saying to me that sounds so sad but when would you say it in the drama didn't i or maybe it's like a very last moment over your life like we'd say it a lot do you use it with friends like i love you i like you i feel like yeah like i love you like this it's liberty yeah yeah yeah if you want to tell someone you love them in japanese usually you use like daisuki or ski woof woof gong that is so different people know how see it sounds like that kind of and one one is like a cute dog mine sounds exactly like a dog okay gone gone [Laughter] if we say that's like my favorite so far that's so good apartment that was a confusing thing in japan people like i live in a mansion i'm like what i mentioned it's just another way it's a different type of apartment it's like it's still very confusing it's always filled with concrete right yes baby stroller or i'd say like a pram stroller oh my god i never realized kindergarten was german it was yeah kindergarten is not english [Music] so there's no shortened thing [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] all right so we have mcdonald's or in australia we call it maccas in japanese the kanto people say people say in malaysia favorite tea mr mcdonald robbins i don't think that exists in germany oh really what do you guys eat what do you think in germany if you don't eat basket ramen we're in europe so we have like a lot of good gelato inside it's so cheap yeah if you guys don't know baskin robbins has 31 flavors yeah and if you look at the sign for it there's a number 31 in there so that's why it's called 31 which is so confusing when you're in japan they're like and you're like what and then we have the last one which is [Music] i feel like yeah it was fun i feel like malaysian was like a lot more intense sometimes than i thought yeah that was us comparing our languages let us know in the comments down below if you have any other words that you think we should give a go or if you want to see more of this kind of video and let us know as well in the comments down below what gong gong or woof woof is in your country thanks you guys come and be in the video with me we'll see you guys in the next video in english you spell it with an egg but you don't say it but you
