[Music] my brothers and sisters when we reflect the word of god in the bibles there is one word of god one sentence one word that comes very often that is fear of the lord so bible speaks have fear of the lord do you have fear of the lord those who have fear of the lord will be protected that is fear of the lord is explained in details in the bible in many places you will come across the word fear of the lord so many a time when i was moralized to say fear of the lord what does it mean am i supposed to be afraid of god or is it that what fear of the lord means am i supposed to be afraid of god or frightened of god what does it mean fear of the lord what is the meaning of the fear of the lord so we have many we are afraid of wild animals we are afraid of snakes we are afraid of thieves we are afraid of many other things we are afraid of natural calamities or so are we afraid of supposed to be afraid of god god is supposed to be our father god is our father god is our mother god is our our everything then why should it is called why is it called fear of the lord now let us read this word of god [Music] proverbs chapter 8 verse 13. [Music] proverbs chapter 8 verse 13 the fear of the lord is hatred of evil pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech i hate god says the fear of the lord means not being afraid of god we are not supposed to be afraid of god because he is our protection he is our refuge he is our everything so we don't need to be afraid of god the fear of the lord means not being afraid or frightened about god but hatred of people hating anything that is evil is called fear of the lord is not because we are afraid of the consequence or punishment that is going to come from god we should hate evil but because this evil will hurt my god so i don't want to hurt my god therefore i hate evil that should be our attitude and that is called the fear of the lord so a fear of the lord is in fact in short because that we can say extreme love of god extreme intimacy with god that is in true sense so when we are so attacked to attach to god then we hate evil for example we we love small kids small babies we love them small babies so cute and we love them so much therefore since we love the babies we love small children therefore we hate abortion the more you love the babies the more you hate abortion the same way the more you love the lord the more you hate evil because evil things will hurt my god i don't want to hurt my god why we hate abortion because it is hurting the small babies we are destroying them in the womb therefore we don't want them to be hurt they are so innocent and their gift of god therefore we hate these abortions the same way remember we love jesus we love jesus so much therefore we hate evil we hate evil things not evil people evil things evil attitude the evil actions praise the lord praise the lord the fear of the lord is hatred of evil pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech i hate god says i hate pride i hate arrogance i hate the evil i hate the perverted speech god hate the perverted speech let's examine our conscience and say do we have perverted speech gossiping accusing blaming insulting swearing words then remember we have something in us which god hates we are caring we are doing something which god hates we need to repent let's beg for forgiveness from the lord [Music] you
