Demolition day, revealing the original fireplace.

good morning this morning it's been pretty productive so I've been to the builders this morning they've got a load of materials to do some work today I've been in a steel place and actually well actually I've ordered quite a lot from them I've ordered this C-section which is going to complete the floor that I'm working at that's going to be bolted to the wall I've ordered all the other i-beams for the floor above as well so then hopefully you know maybe when Nick's here for the two weeks we can get the other floor i-beams in as well um I've ordered some more steel for the scent a bit you know where I was working putting the arches in it's all gonna be go so first on the list I'm going to put a beam under the fireplace but before that this is getting obliterated and hopefully we find the original like half behind that foreign foreign foreign well now we've got rid of all that fake brick nice little alcove fireplace nothing special but it's nice and simple I mean whether it's used or not or a nice log burner in front of here it's just nice to have it back how it was strip away anything that's been added and you know if I want to add something I can do that but it's nice to start with what was originally there [Applause] [Music] thank you that's red so I'm just making this hole for the last pocket and there's just tunnels and voids everywhere down here above there's a chimney obviously with an obvious void there's a void here which seems to go somewhere and there's a void here that one just goes straight up and that one kind of Curves around unless they all end up to the chimney but one there one there you just never know what's hidden here [Music] what on Earth [Music] honestly no idea they've taken this last bit which was bricked up and it goes to like a gentle slope but it's all plastered inside so it definitely wouldn't have been a chimney the same there all plastered and it's definitely original because it's kind of brick lined it was meant to be here here you can see kind of like a brick Arch what was it okay look I know this is side tracking a little bit but just this is so intriguing like what a tunnel that comes down to the kitchen so what would you send down to the kitchen [Music] which would right I'm gonna put a bit of lip paper in there see if it comes out in the chimney [Music] it came right up to the top to see so I can see the chimney really close no smoke coming out [Music] I don't know Summit for another time let's just get this beaming [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign foreign thank you that's all that ledge filled back in now brush this bit off just got to wait for this to dry and brush it off so it looks nice and neat so I am expecting guests at some point tonight there of course late as to be expected by having these guests come can only mean one thing that's some very close to beating the Chateau Diaries subscribers oh foreign [Music] and it's a bit silly but you know this Chateau should be a place that like is a hub for people you know I think that's really important anyway it's late it's windy I'm going home and I'll see you I guess tomorrow
