Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Pretty neat. Except the commentary from the guy taking the video during takeoff is soooooo cringeworthy. stop. please stop. /r/cringe
This was a fascinating listen! Thanks
at 5:22 someone says smoke coming out. Isn't that just the dumped fuel?
Here's an incident report
That was super interesting - thanks for sharing!
There is a USAF history podcast that plays the radio recordings from an F-117 showdown over Kosovo (I think) - fascinating listening to how these people react under pressure.
This was very interesting to watch and listen. At the end, it just ended up being for nothing, which is always good.
Jet Pilot here. Well handled, but clearing the runway was a mistake in my opinion. The Emergency vehicles need enough space to maneuver around the aircraft to complete their inspection of the gear. A highspeed taxiway is much more narrow and taxiing clear inferred to tower that the situation was under control. ("Do you need any more assistance?") ATL has enough runways to keep their operation going easily. Traffic flow is ATC's problem at that point. They shouldn't have stacked their already full plate by worrying about who is on final behind them.
