Default Settings File! Fix "ERR_GFX_INIT" in Red Dead Redemption 2!

what's up guys how's it going Mike the tech here and in this video I'm going to show you how to fix the error Graphics init problem with uh Red Dead Redemption 2. before we get started if you're watching this video chances are you're not subscribed because 99 of you are not subscribed that's pretty bad number so if you like this one be sure to click on that sub or things button below speaking of thanks huge thanks to monitor for being a child supporter very much appreciated uh let's go and jump into the video itself if you're having this issue you're going to want to go to your C drive go to your user folders so go to users find your username in my case it's Alessa and uh that's for Alice Altec one of my first businesses that I owned and you're gonna scroll down until you find your documents folder here's documents now in your documents folder you're going to scroll down until you see Rockstar Games and inside of Rockstar Games we're going to go into Red Dead Redemption 2. now this is where I normally tell you to make a change in your settings file if you don't have this folder hold on till the end and I will give you a link to the actual um my settings folder but what you want to do is go into settings and you're going to see system.xml you're going to want to right click on that and open with and choose notepad or Visual Studio code or any kind of text editor basically it's going to work in anything and what a lot of people are having this issue with is the Vulcan API so in order to fix that we can just switch it to DirectX 12 for example so if we replace Vulcan here with dx12 that'll switch it to DirectX 12 and we can just save this and try the game again and it should work just fine this issue seems to be with the Vulcan API so that normally fixes it now if you don't have the settings folder at all because it was never installed to begin with and never made that profile I've zipped up my settings folder and you're just going to want to place it in your Red Dead Redemption 2 folder and then try it out this is made for my machine so if you uh look at the code here it does have my um Hardware listed but as soon as you log in it's basically just going to assume that you updated your computer and switch the parts out and it's going to do the uh performance scan again and and populate this with the correct settings aside from that everything else just goes on its own um it should work fine for you let me know if you have any questions or comments in the comment section below and as always thank you so much for watching have a great day view it keeps it fresh always bring something new oh [Music] [Music]
