Deep Night Detective - Hurry & Solve The Mystery Before Someone Else Goes Missing

hey everyone this is manly badass hero and welcome to deep night detective chapter one a mystery horror metroidvania where you play a spooky detective solving spooky mysteries father martin hill grove and i still get letters usually around the same time of year they stop being intelligible or coherent at some point in the lay knots before they became a fixed stew of expertise and promises they were angry confessions funny enough february 1997 father hill grove walked into my office swinging through his clerical collar putting a cassette tape on my desk and not saying a word for five whole minutes i shouldn't be doing this the tape was recording of the hank boyd in a confessional this is the last time father the very last time void contune is shaky mudders now stop i'm told it i've just got to do this one last girl not a member of hell grove's congregation but modern was understandably concerned for her nonetheless he should have gone directly to the cops i could only get two of the right people and through the right channels so quickly i wasn't able to keep hill grove a secret and we didn't make it in time to save her nobody came out that one happy and refuse the money hill grove was excommunicated and void regrets apparently very loudly ever having trusted anyone in his whole life a rare quiet day something about the summer heat makes people suspicious i guess because spooky private investigations pulls in great business this time of year a cheating husband job came up totally dry and the wife is suspicious enough to pay for another week's investigation it would take a pretty big idiot to turn down an easy job and even bigger he had to waste his time on it so i sent callaway to tell the guy it's pretty far below his pay grade too man oh well i sent him not because i don't have the time but exactly because i do he needs something to do and i need to enjoy a summer's day for once besides i'm sure it's only a matter of time before the phone starts ringing again then or the other thing happens i'm hoping it's the phone this time the ever looming idea that such a rude interruption could be right around the corner makes me want to get as much sunlight as have assisted the late augustine abernathy in 1984. i may have mr abernathy is curious to see if you can now confirm his suspicions regarding the strange nature of the household i respond perhaps of stuff a summon ritual is there to draw power of creatures toward a point in our dimension but this is just like a star and a picture of a person and you summoned me manheim you know what you had to do draw a very weird symbol and put in a really specific point above my summoning place then put a candlelit specifically with lithium chloride behind it manhattan drops his head to think for a moment he then nods his head well this is a star not even a pentagram with a silhouette above it that would mean there's a small chance of something every time someone drew a guy above a star that would be a that's it so that's it for deep knight detective episode one uh i think it's also maybe it's like a kind of a demo it's not like a little first episode i would say the game is pretty good it has some like i would say like polishing flaws i'm not sure it was just me maybe it's a buck okay but i did notice there was a little bit of lacking on the say like feedback of sounds so like the hits or enemies aren't too satisfying sitting with like the bosses like there's there's not like sound effects in this game so far i think so that's like more of a polishing thing mechanically it's fine i'm curious if we'll get more attacks now than just punching if we'll get like spells or tools or little weapons so we're not just um hopping and floating and just punching something in there boss design wise it's fine it's early in the game so they're relatively easy i'm not too surprised by that and i do similar question the metroidvania part i see the skeleton of a metroidvania there but it's going to be episodic for one so i'm not sure like you saves carry over do we revisit areas because as it is we don't necessarily revisit areas it looks like looks like we'll be done with the new area so right now i think it's more of a platformer like a little platforming action game with a detective visual novel aspect on the side so that's why i kind of mean like it seems like it's gonna be a pretty good game it's got the skeleton of it anyway it just needs like refinement polishing spots to to kind of bring out the potential that's there because it doesn't matter if you have like a nice stone if you don't polish it it's not going to shine you know what i mean but yeah it's an interesting mix of genres that kind of works and when the difficulty in the depth has been increased i feel
