Decluttering My Wardrobe | MINIMALISM

hola muchachos welcome welcome welcome it has been a hot minute since I've done like just a declutter video and I've been needing to do a closet declutter for way way way too long now I'm someone that first day I really like having a clean organized decluttered space I live off of that so I keep my whole house and that like everything in my house is extremely organized and very clean and decluttered I stay on top of that like religiously but something that's just kind of got away from me is my wardrobe this first thinkin is too much this is too much for me I have too many clothes I really like capsule wardrobe Inc it encourages productivity it's easier to get dressed in the morning and it just continually pushes that need of not needing less consuming no more consumerism and having such a full wardrobe but for me is also just very like is too much it's it's more stressful having more clothes that's how I just think and feel you may be thinking then like Sara like why do you why do you have all these clothes like why don't you just have less a lot of people gift me clothes like friends or companies will gift me clothes and then also I do thrift and I like purchasing things for like a dollar or two upwards of five bucks a piece I will use them and wear them and then I do come to a point where I can pass them on to a friend or even better I can donate it to that thrift store again and then they have the ability to recycle and have someone else we purchased that I think it is very cool to do something like that with your wardrobe but also at the same time my body has changed dramatically I'm trying to gain weight through muscle building and working out so my lower half a little more full my upper half I've actually lost like some stuff so my body has changed and therefore my clothes don't fit me the way they used to so this is just a much-needed closet declutter I hope you guys enjoy if you're new here be sure to subscribe I do want to do a full house declutter very very soon we've lived in this house for about I think four months now and I just feel a little bit of declutter coming on so a whole house declutter will be coming soon but firstly we're gonna get started with this I hope you guys enjoy so before I actually hop down here I went through a bunch of my loungewear and activewear and got rid of some if items cannot be mended I will cut them up and use them as rags in my house these items can be mended I will mend them and either continue wearing them or donate them to a thrift store my tier store of choice has always been MCC for years now we're starting to work together a little bit which is very very cool so this is going to go to them as well as the other items that I have here that are most likely purchased at MCC so it's just a beautiful recycling system if you're someone that likes to change up your wardrobe a lot buying from a thrift store wearing it and then recycling it to the same thrift store it's very cool actually have some things that wouldn't fit on there but I'm I know I'm keeping cuz I wear them all the time and it's my skirts it's my long skirts I have a black one I just thrifted this one it's like a beautiful floral skirt this is a beautiful linen skirt with buttons down the front it's like a great olive color this is my favorite skirt ever look at it's pleated and awesome I wear this a lot especially to church this is actually not a skirt it is a pair of pants is so fun and come on perfect for fall this is more of like my summertime skirt it actually used to be addressed I bought it and then I had it made into a skirt it's very like Spanish flamenco I just I was gonna hang them all up and I was like I know I'm keeping all them it's very obvious so those skirts I'm actually keeping that's what five skirts these two skirts they're both by Orencia they are both just like that classic or it sia stretchy material this one is like kind of almost like a tulip bottom this one has a little bit of like ruching on the side they're both very stretchy and pretty it's just I'd rather wear my other skirt so I don't really reach for these anymore if I don't wear I'm not keeping them there's no reason to especially someone else can highly benefit from them okay here's all my jeans these are my tried-and-true I love them so much I even like tailored them myself through the back so they would fit better they don't fit my thighs anymore and my booty it's just it's too big so happy but these were my favoritest Lu Bu vibe jeans I thrifted these at an MCC well used well loved and the rest of these except for one are actually Levi's jeans and they just none of them fit me anymore it's time to say goodbye it's hard saying goodbye to pieces that you really like and really did enjoy but there comes a time where you're like these don't fit Oh too small all of these jeans these ones were more of actually a recent find but they don't fit so way to go me one pair of jeans I can keep but honestly not for long because my body's just going crazy I just got be sent to me these are my valves ack paris jeans they are beautiful but i don't know how long they're gonna fit me they're like a very true denim color their size 34 in like europe sizes and i do really enjoy them but I just know they won't fit me for too much longer because they are such a real and true Jean they're not very stretchy wait everything I'm keeping I'm keeping up here poor visual I just got this pair of green slacks from the thrift store originally j.crew five bucks for those we're keeping those these are like my beautiful velvet pants and I wear these probably three times a week they're awesome I have this pair of joggers which I really really enjoyed definitely keeping because I'm already wearing this is my other pair of joggers that I thrifted but these are just so cool I have a pair of black slacks these are by Babbitt on which is an original brand and I did thrift these they're cropped they're really cute and I do enjoy wearing them in the summer these these are going I don't wear them enough and darn cute these are darn cute I just don't wear them enough they were very expensive they're by the brand heart Lou they're like a wide leg kind of trouser pant they have a nice stretchy waist and this tie I don't wear them enough and because of that I want someone else to love and she ate these the way I want to so we're a let these go on two shirts this one I'm letting go I'm too small up top I've had this for years now and this was quite expensive it's by the Brent Elan and it's so soft and comfortable this fabric is like none other it's just too big and as a mom baggy shirts don't work anymore like with that being neckline they're just giving you too much opportunity to flash people and I don't want to take that opportunity this is a drifted classic gray t-shirt I wear it a lot i'ma keep it this is actually bite entry and I haven't worn it enough I went through a phase of wearing it in my pregnancy with Elizabeth like five times a week and I just don't wear it a lot right now so we're gonna let someone else you see I kind of color code everything because it's easiest for me is a it's a onesie this I really like pairing with my skirts because it's a onesie and it doesn't fly up or come up so I keep this I can wear it I do work the songs we're I'm wearing this song bodysuit to church but it's nice because it keep all my secrets exposed it just it stays in and I really enjoy it this I actually really like this is my roots it's an extra small it's a beautiful fabric I should keep it because it's almost into the winter months and that's when I wear this thing like crazy I guess people in like the UK they call this a jump up but it's a sweater I wish we called these jumpers that it's seriously such a cute way of calling it it's lined with white stitching I know in the winter I will wear this so much because I did the previous winters I drifted this it is a Nritya cardigan I am keeping this I totally am it's got big pockets it's really loose and slouchy and it just takes up a regular like pair of jeans and a t-shirt this is a recent purchase from a sustainable store it's really really soft I love this turtleneck and be like stretchy fabric is really nice this with my velvet pants and it's like socially acceptable pajamas I will be keeping this you guys see this all the time it is my granny sweater this is vintage it's about 30-something years old I love it and I know so many people probably think is the nastiest ugliest sweater ever I wear this and turtlenecks on girls like me with like the short pixie cut is really really pretty so this I'm letting go of and it is also a vintage top it just looks a little bit too boxy on me now it's just my upper body is really small and with my lower body being bigger I want to dress my upper body small and then my lower body too it's like regular size so we're gonna let this go but I did thrift this a little while ago and really did get some use out of it and for the same purpose I'm getting rid of this this is like a huge chunky sweater the sleeves are what made me buy it it's just too chunky now too chunky for this monkey and it's not like I dislike wearing chunky big clothes up top just I don't enjoy doing it and I don't feel like it really suits me I'm just little and I want to move and so I'm wearing something really big can't move so this shirt I have had for years it is a graphic tee this is by a coffee shop called the penny and I'll just continually have this because it's such a nice high neckline it's really soft and comfortable and it's like a cool mom graphic tee so far this is all the clothes I'm keeping I feel smooth it's over I'm feeling pretty good about that this is just a basic black tee pretty sure I have drifted this like maybe a year ago I wear it all the time but it's definitely starting to get quite worn like almost like I feel like just gonna start getting some holes so it'll be a distressed t-shirt which I'm kinda looking forward to this I actually have a white one of these these look really nice with a skirt having a skirt right here sometimes you'll see a little bit of belly or I can kind of hike it up over this it's pirates yeah and I just this is such a great staple especially in like the spring summertime this is I've had this for a couple years as well this is by kindred and Co little and lively it's got this great nice ruffle on the front which i think is really pretty it's like such a soft soft material it has kind of a scooped bottom hem and I just think this is really beautiful i pair it with pair jeans and it looks like I'm done up but I'm not because it's really like wearing a sweatshirt yes this I actually bought for an event and it didn't work out the way I was thinking this is by free people and it is a bodysuit it's got these big gold buttons and these huge puff sleeves I think I wore this once filming and I would like to do it again it's such a pretty top I've taken photos in it and I really do enjoy this this is kind of like an event outfit that's what this is for I just kind of need to know what bottoms would look really good with this this is going this is such a hard top to wear it is a like spaghetti strap off the shoulder like eyelet top and it's just really hard to wear you wearing nude bra and it's knee through you wear it with a bathing suit it looks weird it's really beautiful and if you know how to wear it awesome but I think also for me with kids just doesn't work anymore it is very beautiful and I'm sure someone at the thrift store will look at this and be like this isn't amazing fine because it is quite beautiful this is another thing that I'm just gonna let go it is by Free People it's like a very see-through loose baseball looking tank top I actually think it's supposed to be like sleepwear or something but I'm sure you could wear like a bra under it and it'd be really pretty just not for me this is a Davinia's top it's kind of like that baseball or basketball jersey baseball fountain I don't remember but basketball baseball looking looking like Jersey shirt it's so soft I'll honestly maybe even just transfer this to like my loungewear and sleep in it it is just so soft and comfortable and breathable this is a t-shirt from Balzac Paris and on it it says golden coast with a wave I live on the west coast of British Columbia and this just kind of spoke to me this I was like mmhmm I wear this a lot and I also work out in it this is a basic white t-shirt that I'm actually letting go of it is by gentle fawn it is very soft it's just not one of my more favorite white t-shirt so I don't feel like I need it this okay these I have my Davinia's white t-shirts they're beautiful this one's kind of like a loose baggy one with a v-neck and then this one it's very like in its place scoop neck it's beautiful it's so soft girl will not let go of her to vinius t-shirts this is the other shirt I was talking about just like my other one I'm keeping it it's nice having it in a black and a white to go with whatever skirt you have this I'm actually letting go of I get every time I get so many compliments in this shirt and I have really enjoyed it but it doesn't work for me anymore the sleeves are just really big for me and again with my kids it's hard to do flowy fabrics and sleeves so it was a nice shirt to have while I have it but now just doesn't work for my life and that's okay this shirt is by gentle fun and see I just love when they have more of a elastic or a cuff where the shirt just really sticks to your arm this like ties around it's very piratey Cairn is like do you have to wear that shirt again and for me I just really like it it's very loose and pretty and it feels feminine so I'll keep that as well as this is my davinia sweatshirt and just laughs five Davinia's items I wear this almost every single day it's just like a creamy good sweater that is so soft and comfortable this I'm getting rid of this I drifted but it's originally by Uniqlo it's like a one of those like waffle shirts it just doesn't fit me the way I want it to I feel like my like seriously is this one your body just goes like really different not bad but just different cuz like that used to be really cute on me and now it's like smell so cute this I'm keeping it's like the only pop of color in my closet it's like a mustard turtleneck it's very cool I bought this at a local shop perfect for the fall time this is my Davinia's tank top again so soft I love this soft kind of grey purple wear this all the time in the summer this I'm gonna let go so many people are like sir I love you on that color I don't like myself in this color it's an okay color but maybe in a dress or slacks but for me and t-shirt form this is by gentle fond some just not my favorite and I've been reaching for their t-shirts like this one I really like this it's cute this is by RVCA the fabric does not wear very well like it's already starting to pill up which I'm quite surprised about it's still very soft but I'm going to continually wear this because I do enjoy it this I've had it for a long time it is my pink ruffle top I've worn this to events to weddings to church out and about it's pink it's soft it's girly and feminine we're almost done we're almost at dresses this is another kind of feminine top with the elastic right here I usually will tie this on the side or tuck it into a pair of jeans it's really cute and beautiful I love this color it's purple but when you look really up close its it's red and white stripe on two dresses and just longer I am this I wore a lot in the spring it is by RVCA it has a time right here I actually got this altered because it used to be a really deep v and i like wearing it to church so they brought all of this up and sewed it beautifully and it's very fun there's slits through it I really like this something else I got altered because it was too deep of a V this is my gentle fun dress I've worn this a lot it's really beautiful it's not too short but it is kind of like a flirtatious fun length I really like the sleeves on this and I think it is quite a pretty pretty dress this is a recent purchase it's by uniform handmade it is a linen dress and it is very expensive this was an investment and I wanted it to be because it's linen it's ethical and sustainable and it has these great big buttons on the back and just know I'll wear this long term and I'm caring liked it so I just knew I had to get it because Kieran was like yep like sold this I'm gonna let go of this I've had court but no before IV was born Oh almost five years now actually because it was around the time that I got married but this is by arete SIA and I feel like I actually thrifted this maybe it's a pretty dress actually it's very beautiful to me and I do like it it's just starting that or it's a fabric it starts to stretch out the top and if you have a very small upper frame like me it gets too low it's too big and it's not as flattering as it used to be so I'll pass this on and again feel good about passing your clothes on like you're good nice clothes to a thrift store because someone else is going to use it and enjoy it this I've had for years this was from Kieran it's like a route cardigan but you can also button it up and put a belt around it and make it a dress you can do a lot with this it's very comfortable and I will be keeping it this is this needs to be ironed this is my junker by June Isle I believe the brand has closed but it's a linen beautiful jumper I wore it and I think both of my pregnancies my last two and I've really enjoyed this and I continually wear it this I just purchased and if you haven't seen my latest thrift haul I can link it down below you can't tell I love thrifting but this is a beautiful like super thick structured kind of tea dress I love the sleeves on it I love just the cut it has pockets and such a big beautiful skirt I haven't worn it yet when I'm planning on wearing it to church I just want to actually get this out of the way this again another piece that used to be so cute on me and it is so soft and youthful this is by kindred and co again they have the best fabric out there but guys my boobs look ridiculous in this I don't know what happened like I showed you I breastfed three children and that's what happened my boobs don't look as good in some pieces as they used to and in this dress they just look very saggy so we'll pass the song someone else is gonna love this because I used to wear tongue it was easy to breastfeed in because you can really stretch it and pull it down and it goes right back to its shape but if I don't feel good in it I'm not gonna wear it the last two pieces this is another two vinius item as well as the last one it is a black dress this one is a little bit shorter it's really cute it's really soft you can wear this in the summer over a bathing suit and then you can wear this in the fall and winter over tights and with some boots this one I've worn it crazy in the summer it's a little bit longer but it does have some fun slits so comfortable I just wear like a strapless bra with it and it looks so nice yet casual so I will be keeping these pieces okay I totally forgot I have these jeans these are my Levi's that I drifted my Levi's mom jeans they are starting to get a little bit warm there's a hole in the knee but I'm keeping these these continually fit me so well because it is a small small waist and then like a bigger bum by area which is exactly what I need so before I forget yes I do have these and I really enjoy them so these are the items that I have including this with my skirts and what I'm wearing I have just over 40 items which is still a little bit big on the capsule wardrobe side but it is still kind of in that area I'm not so intense about having a capsule wardrobe but I'm just more intense about having a smaller wardrobe that works best for me so for some people a small wardrobe maybe 50 or 60 pieces but they find a lot of use out of all those pieces and that's what's important just using what you have and doing it a lot getting use out of your items I think that's very important and if you cannot donating it
