[Music] take care check here check your check here [Laughter] ball to baltimore [Music] hello i'm tactical pascal welcome to the channel i hope this finds you all safe and well this video is on the easiest module to learn in dcs world and why it's not the f16 i often get asked what's the easiest module to learn in dcs and with their current sale i thought what better time to make an easiest module video than now it's aimed at newer players because there are quite a number of modules that people can choose and they aren't cheap even through the sale they can still be quite expensive in what is already an expensive hobby there's a steep learning curve to most of them and of course there's the cost involved let's not lie dcs can be expensive it costs a lot for a good pc it costs a lot for a joystick and the modules justifiably are expensive so this is to show the easiest module that'll give you the most bang for your buck if this video helps you please consider helping me by hitting that subscribe button it's going to help the channel grow to create better content for you so if you're watching this and you disagree with the conclusion that i'm going to come to please state the module that you think is easiest and then why in the comments maybe what you say is going to help someone choose the right module for the choice of easiest i've looked at things like startup taxi takeoff landing handling tanking and its capabilities i've looked at each of the modules in detail covering well do you know what let's just stop it's the f-18 right it's the it's just the f-18 but i'm going to tell you why because there will be people that will disagree with that straight away so start up there are some modules that are very easy to start for example the f5 and the f16 are simple the f18 is fairly easy in comparison and it doesn't require too much thought there's no long complicated steps it's simple to learn in comparison with something like a viggen or an a10 once you're started up you've got of course taxi to the runway and that's where the f-16 lost a few points for me because it's very very easy to roll the f-18 however is very stable and taxing it's got extra gain on its nose wheel steering and it's hard to tip over it's simple compared to other things yes there's easier modules but for the overall the f-18 still holds its own in this respect moving on to the take off from both the shore and carrier it's easy put the flaps down apply full throttle and the thing basically lifts itself off the ground taxi take off start up all easy so far for the f-18 landing landing the f-18 is essentially a controlled crash into the ground it's very stable and it's very forgiving for new players who are not familiar with landing an aircraft at the speeds that fighter jets land the landing gear is robust because it's designed to be landed on carriers so you can slam that thing into the ground and it's not going to break unlike other aircraft which will break there's no complicated aerobraking like the f16 and you don't have to fly on approach like a low level pass with the gear down like the mig-21 the f-18s landing on the carrier is easier than the f-14 and easier than the harrier it's a very easy jet to land anywhere handling unlike some modules that have engine flame outs compressor stalls or have their wings break off because you pull too hard the hornet can take some abuse the flight computer babysits you essentially it's very hard to break it and it doesn't help you become a better pilot because of the fly-by-wire but it does keep you safe so for a newer player you can throw the aircraft around and not really worry that you're going to break it unlike let's say the tomcat you don't need to worry about the engine stopping working for example if you leave the engine at 100 in the harrier for too long it's going to go on fire you don't need to worry about that in the hornet you can fly max afterburner until you run out of fuel which let's be honest won't take too long which brings us nicely to tanking the systems used to find the tanker in the f-18 are easy flying formation is not difficult due to fly by wire systems and personally i prefer the probe and rogue instead of the boom refueling and that's just because the way i fly it's a little bit more forgiving once you're plugged in which does take some practice but once you're plugged in you can maneuver a little bit left little bit right a little bit up a little bit down it's not too bad whereas in something like the f-16 or the f-15 when you're plugged into the boom you need to be rock-solid otherwise return pre-contact not only is the hornet one of the easiest modules to learn how to fly it's also one with the widest capability in dcs it can perform every mission except transport pretty much you can fly cars seeds cap anti-ship you name it the hornet can pretty much do it so you once you've learned the basics you can then spend weeks months years learning all the other systems of how to become a more effective hornet pilot and that's going to keep you occupied so for the cost of one module you can unlock almost everything you can do in dcs in a fast jet if this video has helped you please consider hitting that subscribe button like i said earlier it's going to help me and it's going to help you if you are new to dcs and you're looking for help then come along and join us at tactical dcs i will leave a link in the description below for our discord we've got people there who are going to help you how to learn and how to fly those modules absolutely free all the time every thursday we have a training session and we have bespoke courses that our instructors run all you need to do is sign up and show up and be respectful that's it this easiest guide was for fast jets because if i was going to say what's the easiest module i would just say the huey because once you learn how to take off and fly around in that you'll have hours of fun but i thought fast jets because that's where most players are going to be playing so that's it the easiest module to learn and fly in dcs world is the f-18c hornet if you disagree please comment below why don't you say oh f-16 or a-10 brah tell us why because then your opinion is going to help those players to make an informed decision about what to spend their hard-earned cash on that's it video's done i hope this helped you until next time tactical pascal out you
