like I need like a Guinness World Record most plenty of them that you could set I bet like I think I'm like the most Oh like I think I think I might be the only person to like continuously do it go viral yeah but you're a but you do it very intentional is it something about every public appearance that you make usually where you have a hook yeah I think most people do it out of like hey look at me I'm always definitely have a motive you've really kind of abused your DJ Vlad privilege yeah you've sopped up all the clout you could possibly get out of that here but I feel like there's a whole new generation of that's the ground fans who know who you are because of the white face thing because of all these it's crazy because that that interview actually really showed me the how white privilege really really works what do you mean by the home so like in that interview like I've said a lot of that same [ __ ] in interviews like right and like people's like conspiracy theories and then when I did it as an actual quote unquote like white man people's like yo a rock with this dude now really I was like wait so y'all like the white me and not the black me you think even though it was insanely obvious that this was just a black guy wearing white facepaint that people still were persuaded to feel that way we in an era where like maybe some people didn't know yeah I think people were like taking every drug in the world like things don't look as clear to some people you don't think no to me I feel like almost everybody who watched that probably knew but interpretation you know you gotta think if somebody's watching that and they didn't pop about five pills there a little bit of everything you think their vision gonna be hundred percent clear what percentage of digital ads this battle rap because you always attracted to that strain of this is this is battle rap like if you haven't seen this if you want to watch like pre troll daylight like pre comedy daylight you have to watch my very first battle back to the battle rap scene which was daylight versus filly swinging okay oh my god I know filly swing yeah and that's when I was like I didn't know what trolling was so I cannot wait to watch that I wish I know about the a very aggressive person back there okay like right like a lot of people see happy daylight clown you don't know but like this is something before that so after battle filly Swain you know and and this is when I'm like trying to move up my rank in battle rap so I get in all the little battle rap forms and [ __ ] like that and I'm like yo I asked I kill anybody like whoever want it I see this guy named Mickey fast prior I didn't really know who he was but I'm like and Mickey fast like you're wack and I'm like what do you mean I'm Way so I had an actual battle you said it's online okay so he's like you're wack Brook Twitter was the place Facebook Wow yes like a group inside of Facebook like a battle rap group inside of Facebook a lot of [ __ ] going on it was all type of [ __ ] a lot of people so so Mickey's like yo you wack so another battle pop up Mickey's again your way in like four years Mickey like yo if you don't have these amount of viewers it don't matter if you don't have this it don't matter if you're not on this platform it don't matter it I'm like what the [ __ ] does that mean I was like you wouldn't respond to somebody who was like completely irrelevant but at the time I wasn't you weren't irrelevant I wasn't I was relevant in the batter I've seen but like I wasn't like [ __ ] had groans like [ __ ] was all URL was all type of [ __ ] weren't just a brand-new low kick yes I'm like what are you talking about so Mickey start he started finding whack battle rappers and saying they were better than me like he would purposely find Johnny Johnny Bravo the battle rapper two views in Kansas and be like he's better than you right so maybe he's trolling me for like years right years and for years I'm just like is it about Talent or is it about views like what what is it really about and he told me like bro if you don't got the views nobody cares so I was like oh it's about views about clicks okay cuz it was a little early on now so everyone knows that this was early this was like 2007 issue you film this is early okay so I'm like what are y'all like so then I start seeing what's happening and everybody's like didn't you get people that'll walk up to you like I don't care if you better than me I got I got a hundred million views like and I'm like what the [ __ ] are y'all talking about like I don't get it but what was your hip-hop education were you brought out by anybody in particularly to be so focused on lyrics sort of so like I said a lot of people don't know this crooked I and my older brother like they grew up rapping together really yes like if I had to say that I'll follow somebody in their child familiar with other than my older brother and krookodile I tell you my older brother is extremely but so help me my brother grew up rapping together like that okay so if I if I had weird because I interview tomorrow yeah if I had to point at somebody did I I can say that a child no I would say I went down the krookodile path like I was like that that's what impressed me coming up like I wasn't coming up I wasn't a fan of West Coast music really in today I'm still not a fan what was your perception of West Coast music at that time in 2007 what was really cracking off I hear because there's a lot of jerk in music and [ __ ] at that time right like so like I was I was an early early Ice Cube fan okay like early when he was like message rapid like I was I was a DJ Quik fan I think DJ Quik is extremely lyrical West Coast artists that don't really get to credit um but like as a West Coast rap grew it I just didn't impress me anymore like you know like I I skip past a whole jerk movement the ratchet movement to dougie move I was out bro I mean looking at how you rap or how crooked I raps it's like there's not a lot of people on the west coast that have gotten big that you could really say fitting that kind of lyricism Kendrick is the only one he's only one that beat the world is something like he's only one that made it into the lyrical category like oh the mane but they took it to a totally different level I was having that conversation Michael Rapaport is like Kendrick is a very rare exception that is like mega lyrical uncompromising production-wise still gigantic even with Kendrick like I think like he sacrificed a lot for where he's become now like he did kind of what I'm doing now which is like he set out that whole wave I you know I I know Kendrick come back like you know I know Keita I watched a lot you know I mean like he's been in the same circles as us and he didn't try to do what was hot at the moment you feel me he didn't jump on none of the trends or none of the Dougie's or jerks he didn't jump on none of that he set out kept focusing on what he did stayed on the East Coast where rap was appreciated put out his dope projects from the hip-hop perspective then when he popped he came back West and that's kind of like what I did like when I didn't really get into battle rap because I wanted to battle rap like I got him better at because my mind is a lyrical mind and at the game where West Coast music was going I'm like I'm going this way right y'all can go that way I can make all of that that veins and all that [ __ ] and I'm going this way so I that's kind of like well stated why stay the better at okay so then the Mickey facts they didn't keeps comparing so he can't compare me to whack rappers and he's like yo you know if you don't have the views I it don't matter like I don't care what you say for mine I don't know you so I'm like bro why do you did it got to the point to where he started commenting on all of my polls like it came a kind of like a abusive like it was like internet bullying right it kind of turned into internet bullying like like I can post something about you know my mom in the hospital make you fat to be like you whack whoa you don't got views that's harsh it got bad bro and I'm like so where does your brain does your God want us beat the [ __ ] up I wanted a few people who take constructive criticism so before like I grew up a very very angry child like very very angry I took anger management all type of [ __ ] so as I got older like you know that be the things kind of my hair you know before you explode think about all the scenarios so now I'm like alright what is he really trying to say do you really like me is he really saying I'm dope is this his way of saying you're dope but I don't want to really tell you what are you trying to say or is he telling me the truth so there's a lot of ways our stinginess awesome okay it's about the [ __ ] views huh alright so I click on YouTube and I go most view videos on YouTube and then I see a stupid [ __ ] like man licks his cat eight million views you feel me like this bunch of stupid [ __ ] to a 13-ton come style [ __ ] hundred be like what off okay I'd be a [ __ ] clown I need some element of [ __ ] something right so my very first video I did it was a song called as- with a shotgun uh-huh so I'm sitting on my porch for my front porch literally [ __ ] naked with a [ __ ] 12-gauge shotgun and I put the video out in the very next day it had like maybe like 500,000 simple clicks really boom I took it offline like no no you probably gonna [ __ ] up I [ __ ] it I thought I [ __ ] up cuz the comments were horrible you feel like Oh what the [ __ ] you doing hip hop is over like you know I'm just like what the [ __ ] did I do had no frame of reference first fact that you have that going viral getting the hate is part of going I didn't know that thing I'm like what the [ __ ] is this like my career is done for Wow right so then somebody hit me like yo what the [ __ ] you're doing like your stupid put the [ __ ] back up bro I put the [ __ ] back up it goes is like maybe 200,000 again boom boom boom and I'm like holy [ __ ] but it's all hate mmm but I'm like in my mind I'm like but if I put so right after that maybe like a week later I dropped like a regular video like real song hey people let's stick together power to unity all people must stick together music no matter what like it's not about race there's nothing like let's all stick together as a people 10 views 100 views you know you get it too common yo this is real hip-hop right here yeah I'm like holy [ __ ] alright all the people on this video so I'm comparing comments all the people on this video you are saying how much hip-hop is dying and how much rappers like this is wack but they didn't see this how the [ __ ] could I make them see both and I realize you can't you can't you can't you don't think there's any solutions not if you're not being punked by a major or any major outlet they would never see it never so I'm like alright well I got to get the attention somehow so from then once I seen the numbers and then also in the battle rap community and in every form of hip-hop it stopped going from talent people want a book you were based on clicks numbers it started to go into numbers so when I was asking to get booked at certain places it was like how many views you got and then views became like like currents or some form of like a measure of the measure of your work like not how good you are not like we really like you it became how many views you got so I'm like okay I got a rack up my [ __ ] views well they like everything you work so hard up to build which was your aggressive reputation that's what setting you back you gotta be a [ __ ] Internet person plugging the game mm-hmm because your reputation previously was just been a hard-ass like like everybody to tell you like growing up bro like I didn't even know how to smile like I didn't even know what happiness was I grew up in nothing bro because you were grown up in such circumstances like I lost that's why like if you look at me now most rappers they talk about a lot of [ __ ] bro I don't like to talk I'm not proud of nunit bro I got four I sing people die as a child like like I had r.i.p best friends in fifth grade like this [ __ ] you get over saying like it's traumatizing like I get PTSD from a lot of that [ __ ] so it's like it's memories that I took you feel me like I just lost within the last maybe like year so we just lost maybe like 10 15 different homies so it's like if you familiar with watch you know what's happening like is real so like I took that so you don't throughout my whole growing up and what's like there's something you got to live by rather you from the hood or not you still got to hold your chest up high you can't be no [ __ ] you came into mark whatever whatever right it's a stereotype in the hood so I had that stigmatism everybody that know me hotel you like daylight was always mean mug frowned up coming up like you feel me the facial expressions he made he look like he was just always ready for some type of problems but did you always think that you were smart because when you listen II rap it's kind of like whoa the students always know a lot like coming up um I'll give you a little background where it started where I started the question reality um when I was younger my dad took me to the movies to see a movie caught they live your dad you're a real good relationship with home yeah we're actually retired when I was younger my dad I watched a movie call it they live I don't know if you familiar with the movie but it's with the wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper oh yeah and there's a movie cause they live and I was young when the movie came out I think I was maybe like two or three years like whatever you know that movie changed the way I seen the world like even from a kid like I was like always had the question cuz the movie is about like what if people not really people you know I mean like some people not really people and like everything is not what it is until you like really look at certain stuff and I grew up with that mentality like you know I mean I used to look at some of our homies like what if these are like nah you know me I used to just think like that growing up so that kind of shifted me from the rest of a lot of people that I grew up with like always had that type of thought and then as I got older you know one thing led to another as far as like what I was interested in things I wanted to see but I blame a lot on Who I am now because of my dad it's just like the things that he put in front of my eyes like I never watched her movies and [ __ ] like that soulful your dad was just into weird [ __ ] my dad was into where she liked karate movies you feel me like a nature [ __ ] like that's all we watched karate movies NatGeo [ __ ] like that so right here so what he put in front of my eyes I think that got a lot to do with like who I would become now okay and then I just led to one thing like I was I was like one of the few people that be like alright what y'all doing today they be like nothing we just about to hang out no I'm going to a library really yeah so I spend like hours in the library finish high school oh yeah going further I went to college yeah I'm a college graduate weird up went along be sitting alone be stay Wow also some [ __ ] Mike what liberal arts no no no I went to school for business administration really one of the biggest scams you thought you were gonna be doing what I thought I was it was one of the biggest scams ever played on me right you're still in debt I was definitely not getting a [ __ ] crumb Wow I'm not paying [ __ ] is your credit [ __ ] and I have all that you know we we battle rappers and we rappers and we make all type of [ __ ] so I don't give a [ __ ] about credit right you never thought about just go you're not hitting a big battle rival lick and just paying it off I'm not paying them [ __ ] I'm not paying them a couple of hundred grand for a piece of paper I'm not it's a couple hundred grand yeah it's a holy [ __ ] but I'm not paying them that for a piece of paper but so we do you consider yourself to have been deluded at that time in thinking that this was a good investment at the college you made it right so I did that you know with the school went to college you know financial aid to pay for all that extra [ __ ] then I got to the other [ __ ] you know the loans and all that you know the college [ __ ] yeah and you know you know and I'm like Business Administration [ __ ] you when I get out I'm have a business yeah I got out and it was like all right here's your piece of paper and you owe us this money and you don't have money to start a business with I'm [ __ ] I was like super [ __ ] so it's like a good four or five years what was were you battle rapping at all that world I was in and out of it okay the world that's when that's when battle rap took like a different shift that's kind of like when the grind time era and what was it about that turned you off about the battle rap or just just like whether the space was that it was a grind time era exactly it was it went from I like the grind time era of battle rap was it wasn't built for the street style characters uh-huh he wasn't saying like like where battle rap is now grind time wasn't built for that like it was more like nerdy it was nerdy like you know I don't want to you know I don't want to say it like that cuz then it turned into what is nerdy are you saying his white right my only you want to go down that path but it was more not for our type of style and the West Coast battle rap has always had like an identity struggle yeah just say yeah we are because it's like we want to be lyrical but our peers don't like lyrical [ __ ] yeah and it's like this sub-genre that is up against like this massive like gigantic Specter yeah commercial rap like westco's have to be this you had low riders in your [ __ ] then on top of that when you go west coast then you got you put the bay in Los Angeles in the same bubble where we through we did like two different states of planets you know yeah like the bay in in LA is two whole different worlds you know I mean so it's like it was a lot going on about her at that time so I just kind of fell back I'm like you know what I'm gonna figure some [ __ ] out like I went to school I try to play ball you know I did it like figure out life but it was always self evident to you that you were just drawn towards that side of a rap I was definitely like like with me it's something about like it's always been something with words we mean like it's something I never admitted on camera I made it now give you some exclusive [ __ ] like when I grew up I was in special ed and all that [ __ ] really like I had a problem like I was a disliked dyslexic so always seen always seen [ __ ] backwards like it and I couldn't write words like the right way for [ __ ] like even if you like if you tell me to trace a number for like I still write it backwards like I don't know why I had a problem but now I understand like my disability may have been my ability right I mean like the way I see words made you think of really different like like nice noun today like when I see words I see signs like I see all the possibilities of how to write them reverse forward back pilot or auto type so that's what your rap styles like a lot of times yeah you're just taking like a couple of syllables and just like presenting every different I can literally dissect a word to is like it's wow like the way I see things so it's kind of like the ring main effect you know like all the Rain Man was like disabled but like his ability was like how he can read and you get me saying so did you see that clip that I tweeted yesterday of this dude rapping and he uses the same like the same words over and over but you know like that like so like when I was growing up like Rain Man though you related to him of you even then like this is sort of like what I'm going it made me realize a lot of stuff we're not seeing the movie Rain Man cuz I was like I've always heard about Rain Man but I didn't never knew like I never really dove deep into it until I actually studied the documentary and I was like oh [ __ ] this guy is like amazing I mean he's a mazing person at what he can do you can say and what he knows and then that led me to Steven Hawkings and it led me to like the word savant and then I started you know I mean you just let me down starting to realize like who you are and why you are the way you are perfect sense everything made perfect sense so it's like on top of like everything my father liked and also when I was growing up like I just realized like I don't think I was like like [ __ ] not saying as bad but do you think they put you in that box or do you say put me in that box and make me feel bad for what I was able to do like when I was younger like I did is they outright with both hands you know I'm saying like stuff like that Wow it needs to be like you can't do that like there's trolling all right so I'm just gonna say I'm trolling so you don't get like in trouble yeah but disasters [ __ ] crazy I don't believe that he did that because I think if he did that once then he probably has done stuff like that a lot of times and it's probably in jail he would probably be in jail his answers crazy it would take a really [ __ ] up person to do that when you wasn't a real good I don't know it could have been a blink I don't know if it wasn't real good you probably would know oh it might have been blank well I still think that's probably a big old crime you start to be how to maximize the little amounts so there was a time in my career where I was like okay I had a job before right I had a [ __ ] job I worked at Taco Bell before like you know I was making like seven bucks an hour so I'm like seven bucks an hour but I'm making like 40 dollars a day with texts taking out you know me and my checks like 300 some like this is every two week you know like I'm thinking about that and I'm like all right le's is like your day how much you want the battle I'm like all right this is not a battle normally he's gonna last nine minutes whether I win or lose or not it's nine minutes plus I get to fly out somewhere plus a hotel bro give me 500 mmm so there was a point of time in my career I was battling for five hundred dollars broke and I was better than like literally every day and you're happy to do it but five dollars a day to you guys think I'm from watts I've never been anywhere so tell me you're passionate to fly to another state make five hundred dollars get fed in a [ __ ] four-star hotel right fly me everywhere but I literally was ping-ponging the entire United States bing-bing-bing-bing because all kinds of different promoters who are booking you they like they're like that's a known thing in battle route community they light is fired at others like that's really that's like a like early in my career like I'll say 2013-14 $5.00 I'm there it didn't occur to you that you had a that you could ask for more overtime or did this slowly like you got to think I'm in the middle of [ __ ] I'll show you I don't care about more mmm you what I'm saying are excited to tour the world a lot of rappers to read that I'm I'm from watts this is what you not understanding like I'm from an area like a lot of these other rappers like they come maneuver in a cities you get what I'm saying like you could maneuver in your city not saying it is not bad but you could maneuver like you could go up from watts my radius is a 95th Street to 106 Street that is my radius like we can't go out of that you know what I'm saying so like as I got older I'm like you know like I'm in Australia you don't sound like I'm a kid from Watson Australian from Australia we're gonna Alaska didn't from Alaska we go back to this we're gonna get it like I'm like yo I'm out and on top of that you got to think like I'm like alright fine at all this I'm at about and you've got to think I'm gonna [ __ ] dissect this guy I want to win this so I have to expose him as being whatever like you have to like what what is the mentality of how to pick somebody apart I've done this hundreds of jumps the first thing is like you things that you got to think about things that work in battle raps so name flips all the way work so it's like Adam 20 to hit Adam with a 22 like that's automatically because you can make people laugh if you if you come up with a bunch of them they keep Adam 22 I'll hit Adam with the 22 should I keep it going keep it going I hate Adam with the 22 when he was 2244 like you get like it's that simple and like I started to realize battle rap Krauss is like taking candy from a baby it's very easy what do they want it's very easy to please them bro it's like they just want a few lines about killing somebody and how you can rip somebody's spleen out and destroy somebody's baby guts and this is some simple [ __ ] bro and they're that is the most dramatic ship and you're watching battle you could tell them [ __ ] hurt it's hurt but for me I built my own genre inside battle rap which is the daylight world in daylight world I don't even have to talk about you I can my whole round can be about flowers right I could battle flour in my round and people be like they like one it's more about like elevating yourself to showing how funny and creative you are it's like I built the world inside a batter at where it's not about who day lights battle what is daylight gonna do is Dale I can be better than the last day like what and then the negative side takes over it then our reality into it actually happening so it's like it just depends on how you thinking at the moment rather than that like I said I also do have music
