Day in the Life of a Finance Intern

it's around 6 a.m in the morning this is usually when i would get up for work sometimes 5 45 sometimes 6 15 really depends on how i'm feeling that day out of all the roommates i am the first one to get up as i'll have to be in the office before market open for my job we have a nice shower system in place where people have designated times to shower so no one ever has to wait to get into the shower when they're in a rush in the morning and for all those who are new to the channel welcome my name is jay i'm a rising junior at brown university studying applied mathematics and economics on the mathematical finance track in the summer i'm living in new york city for my internship [Music] so [Music] around 7 15 a.m just got to the office there is a daily meeting at 8 a.m with the entire team that i have to prepare the morning reports for in addition to the morning reports have to check my email or microsoft teams message to see if i missed anything from the day before unfortunately due to the nature of my internship i can't explicitly tell you guys what i'm working on but the morning call that i just had ends around 9am most days and i worked till around 12 30 pm before grabbing lunch with a couple co-workers this is one of my favorite lunch spots around work we get around 30 minutes for lunch then right back to work all right i'm gonna ramble a little bit without a script here but what's really you know scary so that's exciting about working in the real world compared to school is that there is no syllabus or textbook you follow you kind of study things that you think you should know things that you think should be helpful and you have to work super strategically because there's just so much to learn out there yet the plethora of knowledge that is out there for you to consume might be scary it was definitely scary for me as well but it's also truly exciting that there's so many new things that you could pick up and learn and study [Music] 7 30 pm now ending it a little earlier today since it's a thursday my days usually range anywhere from 12 to 14 hours depending on how much work i have that day before i head back home i am going to grab dinner with a co-worker fred really excited for it since uh it's gonna be a good time to unwind and relax after a long day [Music] i forgot to film how's the food you know [Music] so [Music] hi waddy [Music] how are you i'm great is this comfortable very hope you guys enjoyed this day in a life uh remember like comment and subscribe and i'll catch you guys in the next video peace [Music] you
