Kalani, you are
doing a piece called "Say Something, Say Anything." It's a contemporary
routine, and you'll be in the senior division
for the first time. Now, imagine that a girl is
talking to a guy, but the guy-- duh-- just stands there
kind of, you know, playing with his phone,
looking at his feet. Kalani, you're
dancing to Abby's life. No. No. You know, it's like you've given
me a little taste of that day now. I want more and more
and more and more. Kalani, you have much more
of a story than these two. I don't want to see two
minutes of just angst. One, two, three, four. Sassy, bah. Nice. Kalani is frustrated
with somebody she has a relationship with. I find that men in general
have a hard time communicating. They don't have the guts to just
say it, rip the Band-Aid off. And that in turn
strings you along. So, Kalani, you may not have
experienced this yourself yet, but that's what you as
an actress need to feel. This is the first time that
Kalani will be competing in the senior division. It's challenging. Everybody is dismissed. You can all go. Goodbye. Thank you. I know Kalani can pick
up choreography and perform in no time at all, but she
is dancing for the first time against seniors, and
Abby gave her only 30 minutes of rehearsal time. Kalani has worked so
hard over the years to build her
reputation, and if she doesn't perform well
right now, that reputation could be at stake. Let's welcome act number
91, senior solo contemporary. [applause] [music playing] I'm not good at
reading minds because I think that mine is lost. I'm not good at reading signs. I just roll right
through the stop. I'm not good at reading minds,
so just tell me what we've got. Say you hate, say you hate me. Just say some,
just say something. Say you hate, say you hate me. Just say any, just say anything. Say you hate, say you hate me. Say you hate, say you hate me. [applause] It was good, really good. I'm just really tired after
walking off stage right now. Next we have senior solo. This was Kalani's first
time dancing as a senior. The competition is so hard
because these kids have years of training, and
Kalani is the youngest in that age bracket. She has worked so
hard this season, and a loss right now
could be devastating. And first place for
the senior solo category goes to the entry number 91,
"Say Something, Say Anything." [applause] Woo! I am so happy for
Kalani, but Kendall pulled off that first-place
win in the teen division. So both of them are in the
running for a first-place overall. I really hope Kalani
comes out on top. Next we have the overall high
scores for solo, duo, trio. So let's get a drum roll. First place for the overall
high score solo, duo, trio goes to entry number 91,
"Say Something, Say Anything." I'm so happy that I won
first place for my solo, and I won high score in
solo for the whole day, which is really exciting. But it's kind of sad. This is my first time
in the senior category. Baby Kalani is growing
up, as Nia would say. [laughs]
