what's going on everybody uh first off I just want to give a big thanks to the will family uh quacy you know coach oo for taking a chance on me and picking me up you know in the 17th and trading up to get me you know just a blessing and ready to be a viking questions when you look at coach Flores and his defensive scheme what's one thing that excites you most about playing for him the sacks that are produced by him you know and how he frees his passers up to make a lot of play and stuff like that but you know I definitely know his history you know his defensive background so you know I'm really excited to get to work JJ is now what did you think about him after you all played in that game earlier this year I'm be honest uh JJ definitely H my feelings January 1 you know that was probably the first time I cried a little minute but uh but it it was it was you know uh we teammates now you know after the game I I kind of unfollowed him on Instagram you know a little salty but uh you know but yeah we teammates now you know that's my brother now so you know we go to war together so you know that's my that's my R do now so yeah did you read follow them yeah I did I did Rec I actually did recently yeah but you know I always kept up with him still you know always knew who he was we came out in the same high school class so you know we always we always knew about each other what has it been like just going through this process with your family with your with your brother um it looked like you guys had matching Jack last night just what does that mean to you uh you know it's just a blessing you know uh my whole family you know they've been there since day one so you know they seen from the bottom to the top but you know it's just a blessing you know to spend time with my family you know time like this too you know uh seeing a lot of stuff pay off you know a lot of dreams come true you know just a lot of time you know and sacrifices you know just pay off so you know I wouldn't want to spend it with nobody else but my family you know the ones that been there since they W so you know shout out love him how do you think Nick sa in Alabama prepared you to be an NFL pro cuz we always hear about how NFL ready you guys are do you think you're prepared to step on the field and contribute day one oh yeah I feel like I'm most definitely prepared but uh it was more of um I wouldn't say it was a certain lesson but it was probably just like the day-to-day life of you know being held to that standard of being a student athlete at the University of Alabama and you know um everybody can't do that but uh you know it was definitely just a day-to-day lifestyle you know of just being an athlete student athlete and you know um just being coached by him you know seeing him every day in practice you know him always being hard on no matter what uh so you know it's just it was a blessing to be coached by coach saving you know I feel like um I wouldn't be who I am today if I if I wasn't at the University of Alabama or for Coach saving but you know it was just a it's a blessing to be coached by him for sure you know to be part of that last team I I think I read that you played against Caleb Williams in high school was that right yeah that's true that's true think it was a um we played him you know it was I was in the 11th grade I believe yeah so we had we actually came up the DC from South Florida to um to play gagra and and um it it didn't turn out the best way but uh you know uh I kind of seen the potential in you know the the first pick and everything like that but you know a real good quarterback for sure and um hopefully we to play I mean we do play in this season so yeah so you know hopefully I get to see him again playing twice yeah twice yeah D what was uh last night like for you to see all those offensive players going off the board U just what was kind of your feeling as that was happening uh it was it was most definitely surprising for sure but you know uh I still CLA you know showed a lot of support you know a lot of guys dreams came true last night but you know it was a good a good experience to see that much offensive dudes go first but you know uh defensive players got to get a got to get a little love too but uh you know uh it was different for sure but you know I'm happy to be a viking you know when I got that phone call you know it was just and I seen where it was from you know I immediately dropped my head you know because I knew I was going to a good organization so yeah Dallas yesterday Kevin said you have lofty goals for yourself what are they uh you know uh one of my main goals going into my rookie season is pretty is really just being the best teammate possible you know uh being one of those dudes that my teammates could trust you know honestly just being a sponge and just being willing to learn all the information I can as fast as I can you know and just you know just always remain humble too you know throughout this process you know not getting a big head you know with the situation I'm in now but uh you know I'm just blessed and thankful blessed and thankful you know and just uh without God nothing is possible so Dallas has anyone reached out to you from oh yeah so you know Aaron Jones reached out to me Jonathan Gard you know a person that I used to watch film on he was playing for the Texans you know so I remember him from college too you know I used to watch him a lot so you know when I got that text from Jonathan Gard you know it was a it meant it meant something for sure uh but all the text messages that I got from Josh matelis uh Aaron Jones uh it meant a lot too you know just feeling that love from you know my teammates now you know it's just a it's a blessing to have to be in a building with a good group of guys like that so yeah when when exactly did you realize being a past rusher and rusher type was was your best pit in football honestly uh probably in like the ninth 10th grade to be honest you know uh my parents and my family can tell you this too you know growing up when I first started playing football when I was five I was I was a running back running back SL like linebacker SL Corner DB whatever but I was a scill position so I always used to play in open field and stuff like that and so it was um all throughout Middle School wide receiver strictly offense though at that time and then um my ninth grade year uh shout out to coach pater Pat 1 dad uh he was my high school coach uh and so um it was one time I was at receiver and then uh he asked me to get a rep at DN and then so uh that one rep changed my whole football career so I'm here now as a p so you know yeah what's it been like to to prove to yourself that you could continue to advance as an as after that one yeah oh yeah you know after that you know um very ambitious person so you know um as soon as I found my my little like what I knew I was going to do for the sport of football you know it was um I went hard you know I went hard you know I wanted to know everything about it I want to know different pass versus how they rush you know and just different techniques and stuff like that and I was um willing to learn a lot so you know um watched a lot of guys watched a lot of football and just understood like the art of pass rushing and just playing online screamers in general you know just being a defensive end so you know I fell in love with it you won that one rap yeah I definitely did when I R rep yeah oh no it was uh it was um yeah it was like a little sack but you know I was I was fast you know yeah fast and stuff like that so you know I did a little move and it looked good and so he was like okay I like it and then you know ever since then I was my hand was in the dirt so yeah what is it like just kind of going through this whole pre-draft process um finishing up school all of that and now you know just kind of being able to you know where you are on on football yeah I mean I really feel like it's just um that cloud is just gone now you know knowing where you're at and you know knowing where your feet are at too and just knowing like you know where your home is now so you know it's now it's just time to get to work you know as fast as possible so yeah how comfortable uh are you with dropping back in coverage I mean it seems like you were asked to do that quite a few times why would you be comfortable doing that I mean uh I really just do whatever like the coach tells me to do so you know just being coachable and stuff like that I got the opportunity to learn different ways how to play the game of football from my position so you know dropping back is something that you know I acquired you know over the years Alabama you know playing football there and uh really um it's something I enjoy you know just football in general but you know it's football is football so you know if I got to draft if I got to AR a passer you know whatever the coach tells me to do so yeah thank you
