Dale Brisby—It's Cool to be Cowboy

howdy ladies and gentlemen I'm Dale Brisby greatest bull rider ever to walk the earth but when I'm not bull back I'm horseback cuz I'm also the greatest cowboy to walk the earth I'm cowboy and I'm cool that's why my friends of Western Horseman called me to teach you guys a few things today we're gonna talk about how to saddle a horse in some of the accessories on that saddle come on back old son come on back okay what I have here it's my radiator ranch bronc okay it's good over bro his name is Boone but don't let him fool you old son he ain't no kid horse he's a cowboy horse yeah you better relax so what I'm gonna do is teach you how to saddle your horse add some accessories to make you look cool because it's cool to be cowboy first things first get yourself a good pad they all got them but the main thing it's got to have that Navajo look it's got to look punchy ol son otherwise you ain't no cowboy and you're dang sure ain't no super puncher which is what I am I'll get to that later get it centered up there now I'm gonna warm him up to it here comes all son BAM perfection there ain't no readjusting when your Dale Brisby now I'm just going to cinch the front cinch up first that way if ol son were to sit back and take off all I had was the back cinch I'm gonna go underneath him and kick the Riggins out of it probably hurt himself and I'm gonna be out of saddle what I like to do I'll just pass underneath him just like this come out this other side check it everything's nice fix my strings I'm gonna pass back underneath and what that is is that's gonna help him get warmed up for the day hey old son if you're ready for that you're ready for anything now let's get to Saturn front cinch first hock it in an oath son you might be just going for a trail ride no siree what if the bad bull gets out there you got a rope a bull you got to be ready for it now you might notice that I don't have a breast collar on them breast collar is optional because it looks punchy without it too if you are gonna get a breast collar though it needs to be a pulling collar I'll show you what that is here in a second now a lot of people go over the top and this keeper here just like that that's okay you can do that and still be a cowboy but if you want to be a super puncher you come in that keeper the other direction that way when people ride by they're like there's something different about him then take it a step further super super puncher double it back now that it's punchy next we got the back cinch real simple but you'll notice this is off of a bronc saddle also in front Billy saddle bronc saddle it's got like 14 holes in it then you got your hobbles they got to be on the left side because if you get off on the right you don't want it to catch on your leg but the point is they look cool booths not even hobble broke okay but they look really cool shackles back here those are brand new I've never taught anything down with those I've just dragged them through the dirt so they look old but golly they look punchy don't they so picking strings extra long extra long way too long but they look cool boom looking good split ear headstall seat Riggins you are on your way to looking cool here it is this is important you tie your own horn on oh that looks cool you may not even tie off you may just dally gloves work gloves you got to have them these were my daddy's like they wouldn't even work for me that all the fingers are blown out golly looks like that old stone has been working hard must be a super puncher you got to have leggings you got to have some leggings oh look at these new gloves I'm ashamed they're so clean if you get too like a Branden or somewhere and you see somebody that may be more punchy than you what you're gonna want to do go back to the truck switch switch to aux Bose all right switch to ox Bose and this is your Hail Mary change into your stovetops all right these are ways that you're gonna be the coolest cowboy on the ranch Boone doesn't need a court he's got enough go in him all right sometimes he'll run off but you got the court just to like hey yeah we're gonna go gather that back pasture back there boss man and then you use it you slap your leg with it come on Carol right there you don't actually use it on the horse he doesn't need it that's why you got these big Spurs all right so just a recap front cinch first that's most important when you're saddling a horse other than that get the goods to make you look cool because it's cool to be cowboy from your man here Dale Brisby I'm on to the next one old son
