today I want to talk about Crosshair discipline I think this is a topic that is criminally under discussed bad cross-aid discipline is so often confused for bad Crosshair placement but while it's closely related to crossover placement it is actually a whole different problem Crosshair discipline can best be summed up as making every movement and every placement of the Crosshair a deliberate one whenever that Crosshair moves across your screen it is because you're meant to move it in that way to that spot you flicked because you meant to flick you rolled smoothly because you meant to roll smoothly whenever your Crosshair stops it is because you meant to stop there when our aim is loose and unconcentrated it can look something like this I call this the floating Crosshair it looks like a feather floating on the Wind Meandering aimlessly from one side of the screen to the other this player might have great Crosshair placement when they finally concentrate and regain control of their Crosshair but if we look at any random moment their Crosshair could be both out of position and more crucially out of control if you record yourself playing valorant I can almost guarantee that there will be at least a few moments where you have this floating Crosshair when I started bold reviewing I realized that this is actually a pretty big problem for me when I looked closely I could see that my concentration would often lag and my Crosshair was doing all these strange things that I wasn't aware of when I was concentrating my Crosshair placement was good but whenever I stopped holding an angle deliberately it would occasionally lag and Float across the screen of course I had no idea and that's for a very logical reason the very reason we get this problem is because of a lapse in our concentration this is why the best way to diagnose the problem is by doing a VOD review which I'll talk a bit about later for now let's talk about the Practical things you can do to get better Crosshair discipline there are two Chief causes for bad Crosshair discipline one is a lapse of concentration the second is I Crosshair separation for maintaining a concentration the absolute best thing you can do is to get lots of sleep but if you're anything like me and you don't always get a full night's sleep then the next best thing you can do is to Simply remind yourself to concentrate on a regular basis just every so often in game you want to be asking yourself how's my focus what's my Crosshair up to if an enemy would suddenly appear on my screen where would they appear from and is my Crosshair ready for it that kind of thing if you ever find yourself losing concentration and your Crosshair isn't in position just calmly make the adjustment and return to play there's no need to get too stressed about it this shouldn't be something you're always worrying about especially to the point where you can't play the game but rather it's just about regularly checking in with yourself and getting that concentration back on track so on to the second problem I Crosshair separation what is it and what can we do about it I Crosshair separation is simply when your eye is not looking at your Crosshair let me know if this has ever happened to you you're holding an angle completely concentrated on your Crosshair for 30 seconds and nothing happens you glance over at the minimap to see what's happening for a micro second and suddenly the enemy Peaks and you die because you weren't looking this is classic valorant timing and sometimes it's just bad luck but most of the time this is a really preventable problem no matter what rank you are I can guarantee that you have some degree of eye Crosshair separation and that is because it is now impossible to completely concentrate on a single point on your screen for 30 minutes at a time it can even be difficult to maintain this connection for the duration of a round but this is certainly something you can achieve with practice if you have a bad case of eye crosses separation then your Crosshair placement may look something like this the Crosshair May sit above or below the head level on the angle you're holding with below being far more common it might also sit too close or too far from the angle despite your eyes being focused on the quote unquote correct position so what can we do about it to create a strong eye Crosshair connection you will need to practice moving your eyes and your hand together one of the best ways to do this is to practice slow and simple tracking tasks while keeping your eyes completely focused on that Crosshair this will be hard at first and you may find your eye wandering about but try and be disciplined and keep your eye on that Crosser for at least 10 to 30 seconds at a time another practice technique you might try is to load up 50 stationary Bots As you move to the head of each Target you're going to stop for three to five seconds and focus completely on your Crosshair before shooting the point here is again to create a strong connection between your hand and your eye so that the two are always moving and stopping together if you've got your eye Crosshair connection down the next part of crossover discipline is moving your Crosshair smoothly and deliberately moving your Crosshair like this is not only painful to watch but also a very bad habit that could be holding your aim back to get your Crosshair moving smoothly and deliberately there's a simple routine you can try what you want to do is load 50 or 100 stationary Bots and then standing perfectly still without touching your keyboard you'll move your mouse at head level from bot to bot moving at a slow and consistent speed you may find this difficult if you've never done it before so remember to take lots of breaks if you need them if you've got that one down then the next step is to do the same thing but now you're going to introduce strafing if your mouse dips or wobbles this is perfectly normal simply stop reset and try again trying to move as smoothly as possible finally if you've been practicing your Crosshair discipline and you want to check your progress the best way to do this is with a VOD review after recording a game pick one or two rounds from that game and watch those rounds in full during these rounds you're checking for two things one any signs of eye Crosshair separation such as poor Crosser placement or any abnormally slow reaction and two any signs of Crosshair movements that were either not useful or not intentional which will probably look wobbly and uncontrolled remember ideally everything should look smooth straight and controlled when you can see exactly what you're doing wrong it becomes infinitely easier to make these Corrections for future games devoting just five minutes to this kind of review once or twice a week can significantly improve your crossover discipline which means you'll win more gunfights more rounds and subsequently more games so that's the video guys let me know if you have any questions in the comments below and if you've made it this far and you liked the video please comment like And subscribe it
