[Music] the whole nation is still talking about it our series of crimes that shook the nation kicked off in spectacular style just a couple of days ago when we premiered who killed the judges it was a joy news produced documentary detailing what we hitherto didn't quite know or we're not quite sure of regarding the death of three judges and one military officer in 1982 crimes that shook the nation is a series that has only just begun and this is the first there will be more we will tell you more about them but already the buzz that has been created by this are first in the series who killed the judges is palpable especially on social media everywhere you go these are the conversations around the water cooler so we thought you know what let's bring a focus to those conversations all the questions you've been asking out there we are going to deal with them today from whether there was a political motivation to whether we actually answered all the questions on your mind to what is rumor what is conjecture what is opinion why didn't we interview him or her well answer them all because our guest today is the producer of who killed the judges let's say good afternoon to Raymond aqua ray you could have to my good brother a fantastic job who is what you and the team did on this documentary you have literally filled gaps in our history but as with every compelling piece of work it's followed by questions right certainly of course yes well before we get to the questions that we are ready to answer why don't we enjoy a clip from who killed the judges that guy Assad oh I went to the hole number could double session I went and called my husband that is being wanted by someone know Ben knows what he shouldn't member camp Wendy team he was told at revolted at them the next morning the charred remains were found at the bundesamt military range and that's only a part of the sordid story now of course social media has been going crazy some of the questions have been broad like what's the political motivation behind your work let me ask you that first okay while we're getting ready to see some of the other comments that have been made yes was there a political motivation behind the production of this documentary there was a motivation but there is nothing political about it I mean we are journalists to be claimed eyes our business has never been dictated by the politics of the moment or any other time the motivation was pretty obvious and I'm sure we do know I've said this consistently that the people would not know their history they end up in a repeating sections of the history which is sorted and not not to be repeated the perfect example is when we had the moon theater incident happiness Supreme Court I was in many of sensing that the reaction of the courts the upheaval is Society and I was in court covering the particular incident which we see how people feared the Supreme Court's treatment of the gentleman it was because there's a history to it the people's relationship with their judiciary has had a long history 1982 was virtually the precipice in fact because of this but Klein Siddhant many believe three different attempts were through it with the military junta them was all linked to the killing of the judges so we start to bring to light what was it about this incident and the aftermath of that incident that is so controversial that is so important that is still lingering on the minds of many that we probably ought to put in its place in the right context and the right perspective so we can at least have the next two or three other generations because the kind of judges happen during a revolution we know of the American Revolution we know of the English revolution throughout history there's been so many other the French Revolution Danny revolution has not been put in his proper context this was just one of the ways of having to put in the right context again the emblem the bigger name the umbrella name is crimes that shook the nation from what you have told you well from what you have actually known over the period if there's any crime that shook the foundation of this country this is one of them you do recall the human rights watch a median in the next year made that their biggest story of the year wrote letters the Kenyan government at that time demanded answers from the government to the government tried with the probe there were other times and other things being done to try and get to the bottom of this matter that is the more reason why in this century journalism and let's be clay elsewhere others do it the edges you have done similar stories the BBC in fact just when we're working on this the BBC went back to some hip-hop story about 2pac and what happened to his death and was it'll be concluded they might argue it's not a hip-hop story but a culture year story interesting one yet all of this tells you one story we need as journalists to move beyond just telling the daily stories of who said what to get him to tell the bigger stories sometimes more controversial stories on ethel and probably putting the best perspective and today if you like check the internet the only audio visual record of what happened to the judges in 1982 is what we are put together here so the internet being the biggest place that's happening to this generation in the next 50 100 years were still have this story as representing an important episode in our history that was the motivation now of course once this was put out there the reactions were you know quite varied and i want to share a few of them with you perhaps we'll start with twitter one of the platforms that houses some of the most opinionated ghanians but they certainly give us great content ronnie k is a great example he said another hashtag who killed the judges he says the documentary was definitely a great documentary but my question is what was the political motive for doing the story well Ronnie Kay we just addressed that particular question I hope it's been to your satisfaction that the motive in this case was to address an important aspect of our history here's one I wish to ask Raymond aqua how did we get to this point where judges were killed I guess someone is calling for a quick summary of what happened okay so briefly I can't say it this way we do recall that in 79 the journalist and of course the June 4th who was not was in an uprising of junior officers against senior officers in the military and indeed it was not done by General is he came in May 15th when you what happened he was actually in jail it was due for that broke geralyn's a table deal he became the leader of the AF our see the Armed Forces Republican Revolutionary Council then when he led a FRC the air forces ought to do Houston the first so they were caught some say they were no proper courts the way courts and me two marshals that some of the generals were sent to hurriedly as a cuted after be found guilty and he was reb you know yes then later on there were also other michelle's caught michaud's where ordinary citizens who had deemed to have done wrong face of knowledge citizens who were believed to have actually done things that were contrary to the law we're also in a matter of haste dealt with some day our properties confiscated some they were removed from their positions and some were done some wrongs in the process of that and we all know that there were other atrocities you may want to term it excesses in the first of all of this happening now those who change those an election in 79 the new monument came in when the Lehman government came in Ronis under the battle ax man he sought to restore judicial justice as in how the courts function the way they ought to function so some of the people who were dealt with by the FRC one before the courts seeking not only an overturn of what the judgments were at that time some of these were successful so I have a litany of cases that these judges dealt with some of them the route in favor of the individuals who were dealt with in ways that they didn't like by the P and EC or individual members of The Pianist were also dragged to court and they are to forfeit some property or make some all loose cases which were supposed to be an idividual contention so if they ever said you stole money so we are taking all your properties we could go to court and have that decision returned for lack of proper evidence because those courts were some extent you have to justify that assuming the money so the call it in and say you have this property sure that's why you should not be put in jail for having this property and that was the background to it right so some of this report went back and these judges were very critical of the FRC true their judgments and let's not forget Air Farce was led by wrongness that's indeed on several occasions and it's been reported widely general is himself had had cause to say that the courts were exacting vengeance on himself and the leaders of the FRC at that time seeking to use the art form of justice to not only undo the things they did join the time of the FRC and some said well first aligned to the end not to be clear at this point when Rowling's and the soldiers came back into power this was very and easier yes so now when Wallace came back in 1981 Ted Fry's disembark lien then The Pianist came into being right now the PMD C having some mistrust for the courts set up its own public arenas so there was some mistrust for the courts then some believed that was this relationship frosty relationship journalists had with the government at the court at that time and other members of the P n DC that I mean they were deemed to be enemies of the revolution because the courts were still returning these issues of the FRC which the pierdes was not very excited by hmm so clearly I mean that sets up the scene for what then happened this animosity between the ruling P and DC and the judiciary led to what caused the judges to be murdered now let's read another tweet what would happen if the killers of the judges were found and of course this question is is pertinent because certain people were tried and killed for murdering these judges however the evidence of the documentary goes to show that these people may not have worked alone so the question is what would happen if we were to prove the involvement of others at this point stricto sensu the there's no statusbar limitation on crime again for involvement and other things when we transition into the infinity Constitution we put in specific transitional provisions which sorts you actually provide some guidance for other people if you check the National Constitution Commission's work even the Commission left a window of opportunity for those who felt that they are evidence to incriminate people to proceed with that one interesting part when the stressed investigative body the special investigative all was put together justice as a crab's committee recommended this was in the 18 this was in 82 83 yes they recommended that 10 people be put before court and prosecuted the and a habbit comments here that the Attorney General he became a justice later on AG aka keys was of the opinion that I could not secure judgment in the case of all these 10 so let me put the fact that I'm so sure I win the case in courts this wasn't a white paper as sipar suggested it was clearly the opinion of the Attorney General time who is to do prosecution anyway let's not forget four must recall Parliament Joyce Bamford a doe was with GK Aikens as prosecutors before the tribunal when if they put the five people five others were not put before the court now the fighter are put before the court it was only to some extent they were all supposed to have been prosecuted now we know for sure that for America some more Lance Corporal Samuel America he was not prosecuted the June 19th dobrik the June 18 at video break he left he brought you he actually vanished he wanted to go and he could've well some have said that they met him there they wanted him to tell his story we told you the story of how in prison he was actually coerced to tell the right story before he left the country so he's one individual that we've not successfully dealt with on this matter assuming we are going back just what the AIB reported the other five Deka keys in 1992 in our quest to roll into transitional democracy honest engagement was had a very profound statement and he may declare that because he knew that the evidence against the other five was not as tight as he wanted it to be and he was of the opinion that wait time it was going to be possible for us to raise the right people gather enough evidence especially when we transition into democratic governors right so here vectored us he expected the government to try those five later very better evidence but better evidence and get back to that in a bit I want to raise another tweet here Maxwell as is the one who puts this one in and he says in the documentary what for you is your most important take I guess it means take home or take away the the most important one is that when you look at first and foremost the police investigating team CSB Donna or NASA microflora there is also one William Oh drew this were men who were courageous they at the point in time realized that the system was not even in favor of they are doing and yet no matter what happened they were consistently of the opinion that no matter what Robbie would deliver and serve this nation I doubt if in this generation Chaka have the courage again the judges they were very fearless they were not they are not similar source there are people who put your personal ISM ones ahead of delivering justice in this case but these were very volatile moments the courage equality of a Caterpie he said so far as I do not know why I'm in prison so far as I've not met the man who sent me and let me into the face I had done there was no way I'll go to it 4:12 Claire days the man went on hunger strike for its principles miss please Orlando I was shocked to see that at that time there were principal Daniels who would die for their principles I guess the significance here is that this was in a time of military rule I would like today where it's love convenience there's rule of law back then you could wake up in the morning and find a dead body on your streets because they've been shot by some soldiers that is how volatile society was back then and in spite of that what you're saying is that our heroes feel like the investigators who stood on their principle and continue to do the job whether or not it put their lives in danger so I guess that is your most important take now let's say we're live on Facebook or on Facebook live right now so hello to all of you joining us via Facebook live we want to see your comments under our current broadcast on Facebook we will share them we will answer your questions we will get to the heart of the issues that you have taken away from this all-important documentary who killed the judges now a PR coup C asks this or says this Rowling's revolution brought by evil we should ban cool ceremonies now if the Chief Justice is qualified in her job she shouldn't allow this coming 31st December coup ceremony let's watch so I guess that's an object of controversy and even in in in democratic rule it we still observe 31st December June for what we don't know certain pic ghanians we observe it in ceremonies not much nalli I do remember that the MPP went to court as an opposition party in there are up to the 1996 election and all that they wanted was that days like this be taken off a status books that's why we no longer had you thought we no longer had Freddie Simba be celebrated with resources of the state so individuals can gather to commemorate the day but it's not a national event indeed right what keep your tweets coming keep your thoughts coming through we'll share them all right here on this special interactive edition it's let's call it a meeting the producer of of who killed the judges no Raymond here's another one from Richie quick Oh Junior it says the joy news tried to speak to Rawlings and Chiquita this documentary is meaningless until joy news interviews captain Chiquita and JJ Rawlings who are the prime suspects yes we did try and in the case of former president Raleigh's we have been up I've been left out of for having pictures of sleeping in his home someday yes yes because I was waiting on him indeed on two different occasions I spoke to him at length wonderful things nice things he told me but they were not to the specific subject I wanted him to speak to the he told me was tired and of course he's an old man now he was tired that I wish a common holiday all the days we virtually got to him doing so said no no no no he's been advised that he put it together book and that's I'm not looking forward to right so he would prefer putting all of his experiences and some of the answers that questions we wanted in his book then again for Georgia Raleigh's the most controversial issue was the very recording that Ezra narrated him do we have evidence to suggest that he spoke into that yes we went back I realized that the nationalisation Commission went back and forth with him on this matter so what was his answer to the most important evidence that Ezra noted himself and also captain Jakarta in this case well in fact if we were able to get a clip of that aspect of the documentary we're flying the talent retired Jerry John Rawlings answered those questions we'll bring them to bring that clip to you yes shortly secondly on captured Chiquita in fact it reached the point how to rely on his lawyers first judge Takata secondly not over the someone and it was all becoming unsuccessful because I'm told that I mean he says he's put this behind him is moving on and all of that but dr. Bahama told me that why am I worried myself went what I want is what he said before they allow see again who went back so did he answer other questions I had follow-up questions for him I think even if we got to talk to them at best what I've got him flexures back to the substantive issues and the lingual questions they were partially dealt with and most important words were dealt with and there was evidence suggests that so that's why we put those evidence in the report so that we did not have no representation of their sides in the story at all and there are some interesting questions it's not like you said follow-up questions that it would be great to ask some of these individuals for example with the former president we know that according to the investigators when when the matter was taken actually according to Brigadier General Newman so it was the chief of Defense staff at the time when this matter was when he approached the four Flight Lieutenant Rawlings with the news of the death of the judges he called for Ematic we yeah there was a meeting yes and he called for a Matic way according to the general new nomensa is this an indication that the former president even knew or at least suspected that ematic way would be involved okay now the interesting part is that the former president on the 4th of July the death happened the abduction happened on the 30th of June yeah on the 4th of July the former president had actually invited he had invited at the press conference in that press conference he made specific statements and I want to guess quotes successes or the statement so that we put it in the perspective required right yes the public statement yeah this was a public statement I mean horse on a was head on DBC and was lighter body shame in fact he mentioned that just yesterday the evening what is lies that this shameful act has been carried up by enemies of the nation who are sworn to turn by the clock of this country and to restore a system of enslavement of the people he proceeded to say that he wished to assure the nation that every effort is being made by a special high-powered investigation team to trace the criminals who are perpetrating this horrible act and to do with them whoever they are and whatever their motives in accordance with democratic laws of this country interesting accounts day this was on the 4th now be undisputed and everybody in this kid had a cause to display that account of hematocrit and which is being supported by an animator and also others was that he went to Genesis office a pianist is German and I'm turned off is there were others there he acts him about what I knew something about the rest of the judges so that he answered that Rowling's asked about two chromatic way then he a said that I know something about the IRS he asked me again whether I knew the two of them and whether they were America and singer he asked me to get into contact with them at the car to find out where the suspects were being kept I won before our president knew that there were suspects in this case which is the judges and that were being kept some way it was at this point I told him that I'd already seen America and he had told me he have killed the suspects at bundes military range this was on the second reportedly and three days before his he made a statement saying that this was done by first and foremost enemies of the revolution he doesn't suggest same here I'm at the car was part of the pianta see the not a member as in one of the ruling members of the council he Ematic who was a member of the cancer he knew enough to represent the story to the water called chairman of the pn d c-- at the time so that was something that nobody had queried the former president on this particular incident nobody has sought to clarify with him what really happened did you really know or he had forgotten about it but perhaps all of this would have been useless if a matically had a son rated him which is where the tip came in which is where the k became the most important evidence in the conversation right but i don't know whether that would have completely removed any questions from the former president because there is a timeline discrepancy ok color he says in a public statement on the 4th that we don't know who these people are we're hunting them down yeah on the second according to Amati qui he says find out where the suspects are being kept so that he already knows there are suspects and and it may well be that he was informed of the killing on the second but at least of the arrest and the keeping of the suspects it was something he was aware of at the time let's read a message from a long quick ooh and he says why don't you do the whole documentary of the cases they sat on and the judgments they gave and the people they freed from jail do both sides of the story not just the killing it is then that it means you are doing something not this partial documentary okay now I have chronicled and I have seen almost all the cases especially the ones related to the PNAC and user engagement they run into almost a hundred of them to be fair I doubt how it was going to be possible for us to go into all of them and the idea would be that I would be saying that they were probably not based on law or anything when these cases were done do not challenge before higher courts these were high court judges you can hold up use course legal system such a way that could even go to the Supreme Court on these matters so that is really not the main contention at that particular time the main contention was that assuming the really bad judges nobody had a justification to treat people who you felt or were willing to think they had done the wrong thing the way that they were treated that is the background to it and I doubt if that would have been a representation of the other side again if you check the video those important dedicated to those who had contrary opinion to those who feel that these justices and watch it he prefers the violence even captain Takata they are insisted this was heinous crimes nobody justify the killing of them it was who was responsible that was contentious so the matter of whether or not the people deserved or did not deserve it had not come out at all because it was an issue that was not in contention here we cannot promote jungle justice we cannot say that I have a problem we could do the next night should be doing is to chase him abduct him go try to kill him then set more fire that's the country that I am sure even under any circumstance would want it was the person who sends the message were treated that way without beheading court without giving that day to defend themselves that would not be the very nice thing that they wanted unto them I suppose the point here is that these people were murdered five days after their deaths that the the head of state of the nation declared that they had been murdered so if you're asking about their court cases I wonder to what end I mean is there is that could there be a court case that justifies their murder I wonder if that's what that's the point that this particular contribution is seeking to make here's one Hussaini Abu says it's good for everyone to know the facts but we should try and forgive I can feel the pain of the affected families though now I know you spoke to their hope not a home whose father is one of the judges that were killed did you get the opportunity to speak to any other victims and I what did you what was your sense I spoke to Jemima aqua and she's not in the best of health and and that's true but I was so graciously happy engaging her the point is that this is a man who's been through a lot but she was the support of doing a story in fact after now she said she couldn't watch or because she had to sleep so she needed her own copy to keep for her grandchildren so that if k-keep accident the question is about and she cannot explain as well as she ought was playing them this will be the guide I think that for some of the families of course some of the incidents will bring back memories to them like Jemima who saw how the husband was taken away immediately from the house and all of that but I also get the impression from them that this ought to be put on record and the supporter in every way the filming of this leave before your health should have been spoken to again even though her actual count was give me some time ago indeed all right here's one more Peter cash says this documentary is just gonna bring painful memory oh I think we've no it's not it's a new one this documentary is gonna bring painful memories and hurt feelings I wonder if it's really necessary at this time I'm still gonna watch anyways so I just worry more that's Rita anymore Sammy Meza says about three years ago an MP had been killed in his bedroom joy news you don't see the importance of investigating that but this old days violence is what you are interested in a gana Mencia son Gabriel says this journalist at that time were very young and knew nothing yet something had that happened three years ago you have nothing to offer I guess they're also referring to the issue of JB Dunois a Jew who was killed three years ago Richardson Kwame Arda Murphy Sammy says what are you talking about something at court that they should be talking about gross ignorance of the law okay so that's someone contending with the Clady earlier that we should I think we have said this before that we are doing crimes that shook the nation this is just a starting point and of course Europe you know should not be that we should start from what is currently happening again me Rahman taqwa I am not the one who determines which one wishes stuff from but to be fair would not be my appropriate stuff from all the ones which you are less likely to have any information about it going into the future that stuff of what is already in court nothing being we don't know what as we concluded what we concluded or maybe completed anytime soon and so indeed crime that shook the nation I can't see which one's coming up next because I don't decide that but if you hear the theme in this case it means that this is use we are bent on dealing with and again this is episode one if you watch out for the rest and you know it's interesting because I keep hearing that question for many people why did you do this and not that why did you do this one and not that one it appears that people just naturally look at everything through political goggles and so if you do any story whomever it goes against you're biased against that person it's a difficult position somewhere anyway okay so let's see what else is out there so many of your comments are coming through if you're watching we're on facebook live we want to see what your thoughts are so put them right there underneath our live streaming and we share your views let's take one this one I believe is from Twitter it's by elastic heart and it says I pray the NPP is not behind bringing this issue up because it is a low blow this is history we know evil has been done allow us to forget the previous generation did their reconciliation they left us out of it why this now it's interesting how do you how do you take how do you respond to those who say I don't want information don't give me information when as a journalist your job is to give the information out there and I dare say that these same people will be willing to watch or have watched a lot about the other revolutions elsewhere have actually spent quality time watching the South after apartheid videos also have seen the rundown genocide videos but get very on and there is something with how people react to something they don't like and again it's not for just a section of the society it's for the entire society some would have difficulties watching ad this would embrace it fully but the point you're making is that we need to put some of this historical accounts on record we do not have to wait for an external entity to come and do it for us sometimes make sure present the history and will complain about the same thing I think it is the responsibility of modern journalism to do some of these things and for their information there were also some time ago attends by general is to do the same thing yes yes yes yes the lies open I've seen lots of acaba Co the last we see prot they try doing some of the instances but most of they did not come to the same conclusion that we have seen today I just hope that in the nearest future other channels will take up these adventures in the way that you only not expand the frontiers of your democracy you live out your true period of educating and informing the public in a moment we'll play the clip of former president Rawlings speaking to truth and reconciliation national reconciliation commission your commission I can't wait to hear that but also one of the if you if you like the main actors in the drama that unfolded in this documentary is Vanessa yeah yeah retired in Bethany and you were the called chief sup attendant tell me what your measure was of the man when you met him when you interacted with him so many years after the fact I have spoken to you on several occasions he asks for time to reflect on the matter he actually felt he decided not to talk about it because was in exile went to the UK and indeed he felt that he had done a lot of work for the states and they still had not treated much well as he ought to be treated so even during the national reconciliation commission I didn't come down he actually sent a written notice to them he didn't come down I was interested because of order records and the accounts of hurt he has never spoken to any of them in the most conclusive and detailed manner he did to us so I was impressed with his own there's a lot reflection also in the face that he said so it was about having stupid courage that from her side and on her side there was no way he would have dead the states the way he did I would have been very bored in confronting very influential people in the state's in the quest of doing this job because it put life at risk and actually gave a distance between himself and the family in some form so this is a man of supreme courage who is very reflective and that's the impression I've got from the accounts that he gave now of course we all were taken with him as up as a personality you know in this particular story but let's take a few of your comments from Facebook so many of you are seeing all manner of very interesting things on Facebook let's see if we can bring a few up on the screen and read them because obviously we're doing this for you let's see a couple of them are catching my attention let's see what we have here this one says and it's from Habibi Treece he says what about in goomah after his death people were killed by some people why can't you bring out something like that and here's another one by rowdy Augustine do do is as I appreciate your work on this documentary but try and get more information on this documentary for us thank you for those two wonderful comments that and you know once again it's interesting because again they raise the question of other crimes other things that happen after and cromoz death yes there were some excesses there as well so they're wondering why don't we go all the way back and you know and and share some more so keep your comments coming through I want to read as many of them as possible as they come up on the screen so let's see who else we have here quite a few of you commenting wow the thing is scrolling along so fast and this one says this is by mills Obama will you be brave enough if you are alive in the 80s as a journalist to ask Chairman Rawlings all these Raymond I think I should get you to answer that question because yes I guess it's easy to be brave in a in an era of rule of law right yes would you possibly have been able to go up to Apple you know military leader and ask him where were you at this time no why did you issue this pass to this person I doubt so I actually in his book Jonah the cook made reference to how the si B itself failed to invite the chairman of the P NDC and his wife of a sudden questions if I the questions were pretty simple as to when he was told by Melissa with a July 4th broadcast if Willie had been told by quick as a lady then what was the motive behind such a broadcast and his other pronouncements why the Jeep was packed in his house the Seco circumstance and under which the keys were left on the dining table whether or not it was known to the wife of the travel of the PLDC that the keys to the Jeep and the tip itself were being kept in the house and also what were the reasons for these these were questions that the idea was that anybody could have confronted but clearly this was a military junta first and foremost secondly this was have si be said setting up by the states and the si B later on imagine that treatment I was meted out to the investigators in this case how else was it possible for this to have happened indeed here's one more from Benjamin asari media Co thanks for watching Benjamin and he says a very good and perfect documentary by Raymond an excellent job done never you the judges and who ordered their killings of course Benjamin Siberia Kunlun as a sorry be rice to us from Columbus Ohio the United States and I guess he sums up the thoughts of mega that who ordered the killings is still something yet to be proven I don't know whether it's accurate to call it's still a mystery because so much information has been provided based on which conclusions can be drawn but I guess the question is is that proof is there you know it hasn't been proven in a court of law that a B or C were behind it but to be fair the only way I can prove before a court is to take people to court that's the difference in this case and again I mean that's what sort of the suggestion of the National Conservation Commission that since the people were not put before court you've heard the father to say the same thing you've had somewhere to say the same thing that without a judicial process you cannot conclusively make some of these statements let's read a few more and they are Marco says is gonna ready to tackle this issue without politicizing it down here in my country the heat rises and politics cools it down well done anyway but let's walk the talk well there's a call thank you now yow I'm walk we'll keep your messages coming through reader more here's one by x Dominic Elson it says sir Raymond you did great work in your documentary you said mrs. Cecilia grunting Otto was born on the 24th of May 1956 and called in to the English bar or called to the English bar in 1963 does it mean she was called to the bar only when she was seven years old I noticed that as well yeah I think that was an anomaly and actually was 1936 as she was born in this particular case all right Henry Oh Coco ta niqua says what do you stand to achieve in this documentary pickin video from the past reconciliation commission inquiries and polishing it to suit your parochial agenda which is not answering the doubt on people's mind and rather creating hate in a different dispensation let sleeping dogs lie I think this brings to a for a certain question in a in in this documentary were we seeking to meet the burden of proof that a court would require with the information that we added and if we did not meet the courts burden of proof should we have decided not to put out the information that we had so how would we if was though subjected to a judicial process determine on our own that we made a bad no proof or not how are we in the position to do so I think what we did was journalism yeah we didn't do a lawyer's work we didn't do the courts work but didn't do any judge duties I'm sure that over a period the people have actually tried to do some of these days the journalism is not to go out and say that you have kids who have sentence due to 24 years imprisonment I think that we've been pretty clear on the particular basis so look at it from the lenses of the information we sought to give from the evidence that has because in times past we told you what has happened the chronology of events we played out to you to show that in that six years what has happened in connection with this particular crime and the relation is to that right back to Twitter now and papaya who is tweeting at an apology I love that says the documentary on who killed the judges just made me feel like I can explain to my curious kids when we pass by the Supreme Court one day he tanks Joy FM and Adam online and says they have filled the gap so that history can be passed on we can't lose our identity and I guess this highlights the importance of this especially that we do right on hmm thank you for that papa yow and Notepad Watchi making me crave things at this time of the day but thank you so much coming out for your comment there are many others and will share them with you as they come up but no doubt the role of filling the gaps yeah in history is an important one and there are there are those who who criticize I guess they would just feel better if those gaps were left unfilled is that is that a pair inclusion or is it something else that causes them to just not be so happy with that I think we should be surprised because this divide that the nation or some point in time my hope was that we could move beyond that then say that okay so we have a true record of what has happened over the period let's learn lessons from it and move forward the expression never again what some of the key words that the Reconciliation Commission actually used in his own even the SI be in the final month of his report said everything should be done that we are reminded and to be fair this incident there's a reminder of it every single year on June 30th by the cannabis Ossetian I'm sure and one hurdle cinder before the matters day is celebrated in this Republic engage right and here's one more from Twitter seeker who tweets at seeker love says who killed the judges but where is Amati I guess where I'm at acquit yeah does he have any living relatives it would be nice to know their take on this too if I am at the question whether to some of them alone I was able to reach out to a daughter of a magic way she categorically stated to me that was not interested she was not going to comment on it I tried I think that relationship as in getting to get her to talk and I also wanted to know if she had any personal reasons for she said no and she'll be pleased if I didn't put it out her name or if I didn't connect her to the story in any way I think I have a problem respected helped Indian on this matter all right all Xena Pia says this was a great documentary those behind this should keep it up well Raymond there you go you have your marching orders karma set says watching who kill the judges has taught me one thing the spiderweb always traps flies but never a cow or a dog the big men will always make you the scapegoat when yahwah pi as young people in for wise on the lesson is that I think and I'm happy that people African lessons from this we need to learn we need to repeat less of the court invasions we need to D not to insult judges in ways that would get us in trouble like up into the moon tier 3 and all of these things because they say history to it yes and what probably would not always be there to get you out now you see people have talked about the impact of this and whether or not as a nation we've learned from the events of that era and I wonder whether we have because not so long ago we saw members of the invisible forces allegedly breaking into a court to free their comrades who were supposed to be there to face the law and we get in to the point where even in a democratic dispensation ghanians feel able to take the law in their own hands and desecrate a court in the way that we've seen them doing the play in recent times Kujo that was the surprising part and that was part of the impetus let's be clear this work started in 2016 that's what we decided to do this and you remember it was around the same 2016 that there was conversation pic time about what happe in the case of the moon t3 and all of the relations to that it was I mean I thought after the moon t3 nothing of the sort who happened as in the case of them would call invisible forces but unfortunately it sounds to me that they stood a generation until the people who were to invade ago there were pretty younger people and they were not minded by the history as much as some very old who are minded who I equally know who know the history would act in this particular case and how they spread the cause you may have a disagreement with the court or something but due process has always been the advocates position and I follow the rule of law in person that was one other reason why this documentary was so important and needed to be done as soon as possible so it can at least discourage further attacks the conduct of the Sun right here's a suggestion from Christiana Mensa she says do a documentary on the murder of the Jana in 2002 well the series is called crisis now that shook the nation so who knows where we'll be going next women but thanks thanks for that suggestion Henry Oh cocoa - anyway I think we've read this one already where he talks about the reconciliation commission inquiries and the videos that we used from there right so of course the question is could this thing happen today and unfortunately it looks like there is evidence to suggest it vary in different forms in different shades in sometimes mouth forms but equally brazen forms this is happening and the worst part is that because of how we apologize everything we don't see crimes as crimes and it should even back then we join a military junta we do the same even now people think that they have the covering of the states when it come to some of these reporting that they have support from the a political party gentleman Babu invaded occurred during the moon t3 they were out there do a charged do a board they were even attacking journalist that kind of common beliefs you we're there yes into a bit of a scuffle yes so it tells you that we are not completely out of the woods it might not be murders but there are signals we've sent to the judiciary in this country that they are not as safe as we ought to put at them but I've been told that you decide the conscience of the state if you do not put a dissection how do you get the democracy wants running how do you ensure that Baron de Montesquieu thinking about separation of powers and I see sometimes we want to bust another institution but they forget that at the last time that the media rights upheld this is the same as did you know how to go to India to need and look is there any possibility that following this documentary some desire to seek a legal conclusion to these matters might arise is is there any appetite do you think on the part of government to exactly this I cannot say because in fact I do not even care what I really care about is which lessons we can learn from them I would prefer that I have 100,000 or so young people five million young people in this country resolved that we will not be used to we are not going to be part of people who are taxed at institutions and finally will be loved by them we will help project the stayed the way thought to be projected and citizens I think those are the key lessons in there and if you help our backhoe said at some point in time you have to let things go to some extent but we need to draw lessons from them and this is essentially what is supposed to be well you do recall that some time ago there was an attempt by somebody to do so and they even chose an external institution because they wanted a London case was filed some did not cooperate if I become so he was invited say it was normal to go to really London for two grand I help anybody's case it tells you that some within time try I they kind of members of the families I've spoken to none of them suggest to me that they are going to go back to this case reopen it in any form that is the impression I get from them right well I guess what's more important like Raymond says is that we learn from what happened let's hope that that is the outcome of this landmark documentary put together by the joy news team and produced by Raymond or once again stellar work thank you so much and thanks for helping us and elucidate yes yeah lingering fog the team is big and of course I mean the likes of the manager dysentery squashy are there but the cameramen that video editor in Islamic the drivers they were the major driving force you can't leave out the few companies that the price - yes yes well look the conversation is not going to end anytime soon everybody's talking about them kill the judges
