hi guys thanks for joining us again Bob Collins for diverse supply we've got to be taking a look at the new Cressy scorpion back inflate BCD pretty interesting unit it's brand new and we're gonna look at the features there's been quite a few newbie CDs come out this year for 2019 and the Scorpion is one of the most interesting made by Chrissy and this is a back inflate BCD now one of the things that we always hear about back inflate B CDs is how perfectly it makes you neutrally buoyant underwater but of course it's gonna be a little bit of a handful on the surface while you're waiting on the boat especially if you tend to over inflate the bladder crises come out with some interesting design arrangements that will help some of that now one of the things I'm going to talk about is the fact that this is a really lightweight travel BCD there is no hard back plate in here it's stiff and it's material there is a little bit of a stiffener inside of it but it doesn't have your normal hard plastic back plate in there it uses the stiffness of the tank to stiffen up the BCD what they've done is it's got a nice long inflator it's got two pre bent D rings here and on both sides there's extra loops I'm gonna do a close-up of this it's got some extra loops up here where you could connect carabiner or an extra d-ring whatever you wanted to appear it's got a right shoulder dump that many back inflates don't have so it kind of nice to have that that right shoulder dump if you're not used to using one try this beast I think you're gonna really like the feature now we come down it's got our standard quick releases and chest strap across here the chest strap is some want adjustable so you can move it from here up which makes this more comfortable for a lady to wear as we drop down here you see it's got a nice back pad I guess I should say and one of the unusual things about this BCD are the little side pockets now most back inflate B CDs don't have any side pockets I'm gonna turn this so you can see it let's take a look at this side pocket now many back inflates don't have a side pocket this one's nice it's about the right size you could keep a signal mirror you could keep a light small light in here whatever it's got a d-ring here on the outside so you could attach an octo here they've got it comes with a little accessory plastic like hose holder or whatever here and it's kind of nice because the zippers not just on the top the zipper comes across and down on to the front which makes it kind of nice now you'll also notice that this BCD does not have a cumberbund it actually will close off and then you've just pulled forward on the straps here to Snug up your your closure here your belly buckle and such pretty nice design what we're looking at here is we're looking at the weight pocket now one of the things you'll notice is this weight pocket is moved way back here so as we've talked about before when you add weight toward the back back here on a back inflate it helps you on the surface with your positioning and this actually has quick these dump pockets they go up in from the bottom and if you needed to release them you just pull down and it will release out of that weight pocket which really makes that kind of nice now this unit doesn't specifically have trim pockets because of the positioning of these weight pockets but you could add a set of accessory weight trim pockets back here on this single tank man I'm going to turn it on around now back here you're going to see that we've got our single tank strap plastic cam and your integrated valve strap back here comes with a inflator hose which really makes it nice now the Scorpion has a nice price point I'm going to put a link to the Scorpion down here in the description you can hit that and go on to the diver supply website and check out to see what the what the pricing is this is going to be a very popular BCD because it's so lightweight easy to travel and so many people prefer a back inflate if you're new here I'd appreciate it if you'd hit that subscribe button down there if you already own the Scorpion and you'd like to put a comment down below about how you feel and how your diving has been with the Scorpion love to see those and of course I always appreciate our news Chivers we've gone well over 500 subscribers I want to thank again everybody for joining us and I hope to see you again next time and as we always say here is diver supply dive sake thank you [Music]
