welcome in this part i will be going over the basics of how to sculpt your model so that you can turn this into this i just wanted to say thanks again meelo for letting me use your model you're awesome start by opening up blender click general under the new file list tap a on the keyboard to select everything and then press delete if you follow the earlier directions you will have the cats plugin enabled and therefore when you click this little tab barely visible on the right it will open the side panel and the cats tab will be there toward the bottom you then open the cats tab and click the import model button at the top then go to the folder that has your fbx and import you can click fix model at this point if you want it might fix some things for you it might not so feel free now you want to save your blend file just like i said earlier save it somewhere that is backed up constantly so that you have versions to roll back to if you mess up something i've messed up several times and this has saved my life don't ruin your motivation by not doing this step so now you have your model imported there are a bunch of shortcut keys that blender uses so figure out how to use all of them to make your time easier i won't go over all of them but tapping the h key hides things and tapping the period key zooms into what you have selected a selects everything and w changes the selection tool style i think i use those the most here is your model now you want to work on it there are a bunch of tabs up at the top it doesn't really matter which one you're on because you can change what mode you're in from this drop down in the top left corner anyway but the first thing you need to know is it won't let you work on anything if it's not the active selection so say you want to sculpt your body right away you click on it and see that it's now highlighted so you go to the sculpting tab or the drop down and use the sculpting tools to sculpt stuff but if i click away so it's not selected i'll go to the sculpting tab and it will look like i can sculpt but none of the tools will actually do anything this was probably the most annoying thing to figure out at first the thing about sculpting is that your model is just a bunch of shapes stuck together and the last thing you want to do is edit an ear and have it accidentally sculpt part of your eyeball because this is one giant mesh luckily cats has a feature for this so if you go back to the cats tab under model options you can click separate materials by loose shapes and it will pick apart your model by parts which will then allow you to do that select thing i was telling you about where you'll only be editing what you have highlighted i suggest keeping your body in loose pieces like this for the entire duration of modeling because it will just make your life much easier for every part including sculpting weight painting and texture painting no need to worry though you can still separate it at any point with cat's feature to join everything back together you just select all the mesh and hit ctrl j next up is mirroring for most things you want your body to be symmetrical so you enable this by being in any of the edit modes and on the blender configuration tabs over here go to the main tool tab at the top and clicking into the options drop down to get everything exactly the way you want it you'll have to look up more blender tutorials i'm not an expert so i'm not going to tell you how to do everything work your skills and sculpt your model until you're satisfied with how everything looks this is important because you can mess up your textures if you sculpt it again later on let's say you're done with the sculpting next up is your texture painting so at this point go ahead and move on to part three
