Creating a Superhuman Family in CK3 | How to Run a Successful Eugenics Program

hello everybody welcome back to the channel today i have a special video for you guys in which we are going to be trying to create the perfect family in ck3 for those of you new to the game in crusader kings 3 your characters get traits based on experiences that happen to them as a child or things that happen to them when they're an adult but there are also cogenital traits which can be passed down and reinforced as you play your way through the game so for this game i will be trying to get a child who has the best tier from each of the three cogenital traits well the first thing that we're going to do is choose somewhere to start and considering it doesn't really matter how big our empire is we just want to create the perfect line of rulers i'm going to have to find somewhere maybe that has good traits already i know this small county montague here has actually a character who starts with quite a big army you'll see that you'll see that normally places that are just counties will have like incredibly small armies like this county right here only as 500 troops but montague has 3 700 and this is because count hasting here starts with i think 3 000 special norse units so he's always a really fun place to start and if you're playing the northern lords expansion pack then you have the ability to go on a veranian adventure which just means that you can leave your land here and go try and conquer and settle somewhere else so i think that's what we will be doing so here we are in our lovely little county of montagu and another reason i chose this guy is because he actually starts with a trait the quick trait and so does his son and heir which you might think isn't very helpful but already starting with one inheritable trait is actually a big help and our wife actually has one too but i'm gonna see if maybe we can get a better wife who has more traits than this person right here so hopefully as you guys know at this point in crusader kings 3 when you start out there's a lot of things you should do and it's pretty much the most important time of your game so first we're going to choose a lifestyle and we'll be going down the marshall tree because our guy already has a lot of points in the marshall tree but also because we plan on doing a lot of conquering so when you plan on conquering new land the authority focus helps because it'll gain you control per month on your new lands and i think we'll probably head down this tree here just because it'll make our units a lot better you can see we have bonuses to the damage and movement speed which helps a lot and like i said before you can see that we do have some special soldiers we have count hastings hosts which are two groups of 1500 units units contain of 1200 levies and then 300 special units which is super super helpful but you'll see here it says stand down on succession which just means when our player dies these guys will go away right now when i looked at my son to try to find him a wife and i went to sort by inheritable traits which is pretty much what we do what we will be doing this whole game you'll see there's not many options and that's because your marriages kind of depend on how big you are as a nation and right now we're just a county so the people who are willing to marry their kids with us is kind of a small list i do plan on growing quite quickly so like i said because we are norris and we're playing at with the northern lords expansion pack we can do this viranian adventures type of war to be able to do this war you have to be a county or duchy you can't be a kingdom so it's perfect for the way we are and i want to invade in sicily here just because i know for a fact that this this county right here the county of cagliari has a spot for a silver mine and that will generate us tons of gold which will just make our game a whole lot easier so i'm going to go ahead and do this it costs 500 prestige which is pretty easy considering this guy starts with a ton of prestige so just like that you can see we now have a duchy and you saw just there it said title loss so now we are no longer in charge of montague but that's okay because it's kind of shitty land and you're in between a couple of really strong neighbors and normally france will just end up taking you if you try to stay there anyway i chose this place because of the gold mine but also because invaders always have to disembark to get on your island so if you're quick enough to hit them right when they're disembarking you get a huge bonus to the war and you can pretty much easily defend this island but that is easier said than done so we'll we'll have to see what happens here so i just finished the war for the north of sicily here and now you can see we have all five counties here and five counties is honestly pretty good with the gold income i'll be able to upgrade all the buildings in these counties pretty regularly and i should be able to hold off most invaders only holding these five counties and you can already see when i search for spouses for my uh my son because we're a duchy we have a bunch of new new suitors that we didn't have before and some of these are pretty good like this person right here has amazonian but she's 31 which kind of sucks we're gonna need somebody younger who has an amazing trait to marry off to our son because by the time if we do the math when he is 16 and able to have kids that's gonna be seven years so she'll be 38 so it's like almost the edge of what's possible but honestly i think it might be worth it just to give it a shot because honestly having one of the the best uh the max of these co-genial traits is really important especially in the beginning so i will send the proposal for that so our wife had a son but he has a robust trait which i guess is better than our first son who's just as quick but we'll see how it goes maybe we'll have one more sun and see if he's better and we name it hastings so he's hasting hastingson so we just finished our gold mine and you can now see our gold has skyrocketed to almost five gold per month which is very good i was taking a look at the south of italy here and it's pretty weak like you got a lot of weak dudes here with no alliances so i was thinking of going in and just smashing all these people and thinking about how much land we could take so we went ahead and we just did the quadruple war and you know what i'm gonna add in napoli as well we'll do the what's five quintuple we have five wars i just declared at once for all of these portions of land because they all only have around 200 troops and we have three thousand so we're just going to go through and take them all out one by one so my first son just turned 16 and he actually got the best or the second best education trait for stewardship so that's pretty good how's this guy doing charming honestly one of the worst childhood traits because it only helps diplomacy and intrigue and i'm not a huge fan of either of those and that's how you do a five for one war look at that beautiful so for some reason our son was not able to be betrothed to the person we had so i'm gonna set up a new marriage with him and with this six-year-old here who happens to have the intelligent trait and having two of the same trait gives you a huge boost to the chance that their child will get one of these traits or an improved version of it and also it actually gives us a pretty powerful ally here so we'll send that proposal [Music] so it looks like we died but that's not too bad because our son has a good marriage set up and we shouldn't have any problems with them so with this guy i think we're gonna go down the stewardship tree because i do plan on building up my land quite a bit i'm in a war right now with benevento i don't think it'll be too hard to win i'm smacking their troops every chance i get really it's just annoying because we can't take their castle very quickly so i think what i've decided to do is embrace local traditions so this is something you can do when you're north and if you invade foreign land it pretty much just converts you to the local culture and uh religion and honestly be norse is really cool because they have a lot of uh fun things they can do especially in the new expansion but in regards to their culture like they're pretty weak culturally and you'll almost never be able to control the norse culture because there's always like somebody who's norris who has a bunch of counties more than you so you'll never be able to choose kind of like what you want to research and i know sardinians i'm pretty sure they're more advanced than norse and since i hold a lot of sardinian land pretty much all of it i'll be able to choose what we researched so i think i'm going to go ahead and do that at the cultures yeah so look we have anadros which is really something i really wanted and we actually keep these guys which is i didn't i didn't realize that but yeah so i'll make a bunch of onages soon because that'll help so much like that was really why i ended up not being able to get benevento and it's because they had their their fort was too strong for my unit so it just takes so long to capture it right i'll be able to take any land i want really okay so i've been waiting for this we finally got enough renown so we can choose a dynastic legacy and we are gonna go with the blood dynastic legacy which is going to be huge for our game because as you can see it increases the chance of inheriting a good trait so one that our characters already have or a new one could pop up a plus 30 percent and that should help our eugenics mission here quite a bit so i just got enough money to create the kingdom of sardinia i'm going to go ahead and do that should help us with our renown our prestige pretty much is great for everybody and i do love the uh sardinian coat of arms here it's so cool so here's a little uh tip for you guys if you want to have more kids with your wife you can go into these personal uh options here when you click on them and when you click on more there's seduce and romance so seduces to sleep with them in romance is like the next best thing where they become your soulmate and then you'll have lots of kids so i think i am gonna start this here just because i have just unlocked the restraint perk so whenever i find a good kid i can i can embrace celibacy and i won't have any more children which is great so i might as well go ahead and just start having as many kids as possible until i get a good one so i think i will convert to uh catholicism because i think that's gonna really uh it's gonna grow a little bit bigger and uh orthodox like i'm not around too many orthodox people so i think honestly converting is the right player and now we'll be able to ask the pope for money all the time which honestly is awesome i do love to do that so my wife is pregnant again and so far she's had three daughters for me so this one better be a son and i better have some good traits oh my goodness so she did have a son but she died in childbirth it is truly tragic but he is intelligent which is perfect for us that's exactly what we want to see let's just have a peek to see if there's anybody who has some good traits here oh my god that is yikes that is not good um but yeah let's filter by inheritable all right so the options are getting better and better which i do like i think i'll marry this genius person person for myself actually now because 45 that's like a perfect age honestly so just a quick update for you guys my son has just turned 16 and he should be able to get married now and we're making just tons and tons of gold right now 18 per month we've been developing our land quite a bit we have lots of buildings our military is looking good the only thing is we're stuck at four um different things of men at arms and we have them all maxed out for size right now but that's why we are researching mustering grounds which will be done in around 13 years and that'll help increase the size so we just hit a point where we can now get another dynastic legacy so we're going to go for the next one in the blood tree which means that the chance of reinforcing a cogenial trait is 30 percent better all right so i was just crusading in jerusalem and it appears we have died but i don't have a problem with that because our sun is pretty good so yeah my spouse is actually like a ruler of her own county so i think i'm honestly gonna have to divorce her but it's gonna be hard to get somebody to accept this say so i didn't realize but my player was actually orthodox somehow when i was uh raising him he got converted but so once i switched off of that to catholic i i re uh converted to catholic then i was able to divorce my wife and now i should be able to get a new wife it's got the pretty and robust trait i think honestly i'm just gonna have to go up with that because now we can have a chance of getting tier two for all three of them which is actually very good so unfortunately my wife gave birth to a daughter and then she died so that is too bad we'll have to find another one and she had amazing traits too well we've hit a rough patch so my guy had gotten the infirm trait which was pretty tough and i had just killed my other son after he committed a hunting accident because i thought this son would be better but unfortunately he's only two years old so now we are going to be playing as a two-year-old but we'll see if we can keep the realm together here so we made it through uh our childhood years we're married to a 37 year old so i'm gonna have to go ahead and uh start seducing her as soon as possible because i need to have some kids and trait wise we have the beautiful so it's the best straight in the uh we call like the beauty tree and then we're married to this lady who's a genius so hopefully our kids will get some good traits from this so we have our first son here and honestly pretty disappointing only has intelligent look at this so we had a daughter next and she's amazing she was beautiful and intelligent oh why couldn't that be the sun okay so i have been playing this game for almost five hours now you can see it's almost uh the year a thousand ad and my character only has the beautiful trait so you can see i had i have three sons with these with this new wife i have here and she is herculean so we have two characters with the tier three trait from their respective groups and if we have a look at our kids here you can see i have one kid who has the beautiful trait one kid who just says handsome and the last son just has robust so this is getting kind of frustrating i thought by now in like my i think these are my fourth generation of kids i would have better traits than this so i did a little bit of research and i think i figured out what was going wrong or at least why it should get better so if i pull up this article on breeding for ck3 there are some interesting things most of it i already knew like sort for inheritable traits but there is this lovely little chart right here and this is what we have to talk about so you can see it has a bunch of chances here depending on if the mother or the father or the grandparent on the mother or father's side have the trait and you can see if the mother and the father have the same trait you have a 40 chance of getting the same one and a 40 chance of getting an improved trait but what i have been doing is having uh only the father have a trait and only the mother have a trait which means we have a 25 chance of getting the same trait and no chance of improving the trait so it's been pretty unlucky like let's say if i wanted my guy with a beautiful and his wife with herculean so it's pretty much only a 25 chance that one of my kids would get the best version of this and then for a kid to have both of those it would be i think a one in eight chance so around 12 so it's pretty rare i would have to have like eight kids and you can see some of my daughters this was my older wife and she was a genius and i was beautiful and she ended up getting the one in eighth chance so i had i did have if you think about it or nine kids so it makes sense we would get one but it was just unlucky with our daughter so i think we are actually just getting we are getting unlucky with this game now that i'm i've kind of been focusing on uh beautiful for a while like my character he is beautiful and my heir who i'm going to be playing as has beautiful so his kids really should be good at passing this beautiful trait down and his mom had her killing and then now his i betrothed him to another person who has herculean so we should start seeing some good trades passing out in this next line i'm really hoping it starts picking up here so this challenge i'm pretty sure gets easier and easier as you go because now when i'm trying to find some spouses for my kids you'll see like the ones that are related to me that i've like i've had daughters i'm just sending out to places like i sent some daughters over to england and you can see that we've got some good traits going here like um this little dude here was in england and i sent him one of my daughters who had amazing traits you can see some of their kids actually have like amazing traits like look at this person here we got all three here we shall see i'll end up disinheriting one of these guys because i will want to play as the one who has better kids in the end so this is my great plan my player heir just had a kid who looks amazing herculean and beautiful very good traits and so i think i'm going to want to play as this guy this player heir so my i have two kids right now who are not disinherited two sons and i've betrothed this one to this child here who's genius and beautiful but you know what since i'm not gonna play this guy i'll break this patrol out like that and then if i go back to this guy's good son i'll marry him off right away here we go to my granddaughter and now look at this so we have they both have the beautiful trait so there's a really good chance that you get this and then since we have a herculean and a genius i like the odds of these getting passed down as well see i told you guys it was going to turn around right after i did the research it's turning around i should have done that maybe four hours ago when i realized my traits weren't really getting inherited weren't being inherited quite well but you know that's okay i got an offer to option here to vassalize them which is actually pretty cool it doesn't happen too often with that that you can do vassalization there's actually a way you can play if you go down if you go down the august uh tree there's the trait or the perk here true ruler which gives a plus 25 for vassalization so if you're playing a game where like i know you're pretty strong but you want to be peaceful and you're around people who have similar cultures to you and similar religion if you get that trait it honestly makes it super easy just to vassalize a bunch of small nations around you and now uh he's part of our land i love the generation in this game like these these some of these people look like like come on she has the ugly trait but like you this person looks like they were crafted in the uh in the create a character mode like what is wrong with your face okay so we passed away took an l here which is okay because now we are playing so we're playing as king luca here doesn't look that great he's just beautiful which is okay his wife is amazonian but we're going to be waiting for is to play as prince ragnar and he has amazing traits and he's betrothed to an amazing player too and he has a rowdy which is actually decent we'll give him a martial education i think because i like that a little bit more than intrigue and uh we'll educate him ourselves i think but we're gonna have to choose what tree we want to go down to make sure this kid gets the education we want to give him so this was a little bit unexpected but uh i was out for a hunt and i had the the random event where deer or something was running at me and it's like oh you have a 50 chance to kill it 25 chance you get wounded and then 25 chance you die and i rolled it and i died so that's kind of shitty but at least my son here is uh 16 so he's not a kid anymore at least but there's gonna be a lot of people who don't like me right now also this guy's so far our best character we're playing as he has the best from uh uh the prowess cogenial trait and the best from the beauty one and then hopefully our kids will also get some intelligence traits and then we will be chilling would you look at this i married my sister who had pretty good traits to this dude over here who had amazing traits and look at this son they had he's literally the perfect child but he's only my nephew i don't think i can uh play as this guy honestly okay so we have our first son and you know what i'll take it he's not as perfect as my nephew as he only has the intelligent trait but look at this beautiful herculean intelligent that is almost as good as it's gonna get wow this is truly shocking guys so there were some murders going on my car and somebody actually murdered my wife which is totally not cool because she was pretty good she actually had amazing um she had amazing stewardship which was giving me a huge boost to my domains and i really liked it but it turns out that the murderer was actually my mother can you believe that definitely have to lock her up that's pretty crazy i was looking for a new wife and i found an even better person but she's only seven which kind of sucks because i'm gonna have to wait another nine years before she can help with my domain and uh you'll see i took some more land over here but i didn't even do it by war i just did it by vassalizing these guys because again we had like similar cultures and then also i started just taking over some land here pretty much out of boredom like i took this area and gave it to my uncle okay so my son ragnar just became of age and we ended up getting gregarious compassionate and patient as his traits which i'm pretty happy with and he got the second best education trait for stewardship which again is really good i just hit enough renowned to unlock the fourth tier of the blood of the blood dynastic legacy and this one is pretty cool because you get to choose a trait which is going to become more likely in your family and i think what i normally do is go with quick here which is the intelligence branch because uh it's pretty much the best one some of these are pretty cool though if you do giant or like albino or something those could be pretty cool so i don't know what was happening in this game but my sister who has these traits which i married to um my nephew who is perfect and like he's amazing look at all of their children so they've got this guy who's perfect 16 year old perfect this guy here almost perfect has one bad trait here and this is only robust this daughter pretty much perfect except for this fertility this sun completely perfect and then this daughter who's perfect with the giant trait which honestly i find even adds to the perfection because it gives you more prowess like she's a two-year-old with 15 prowess look how that two perfect twins that's just crazy man i don't know what these guys are doing but that's what i should be doing so i had married this guy to an older lady my heir because i thought she might be able to pump out a few kids before getting too old but she didn't and now he's 39 and he needs to start having some kids and honestly i'm thinking of setting him up with my granddaughter which is kind of messed up but she is perfect and if i marry her to him it pretty much guarantees all perfect kids which would be pretty sick i'm not gonna lie of course everything happens at once in this game so we just started a crusade and we died so now we're playing as our son these are the type of uh council members that i like to see look at these numbers pretty insane stuff so my guy already has nine holdings which is sick he's like one of my best stewardship dudes i've had and we'll have to just start pumping out kids whenever she gets old enough because my guy is already almost 50 years old okay and we have the strengthened bloodline decision major decision and this gives us amazing boosts to inheriting new traits i'm so excited to do it let's get that done and now we have the strong blood trait with all of our dynasty so that's awesome we get a new nickname the blood father pretty cool and now all the kids we have should definitely be perfect especially when my wife is perfect and my character is almost perfect oh no so we have our first son here with our wife and he got the inbred trait oh man i'm so unlucky this game he has literally everything else i would want but he's also a little bit in bread it's all gone so wrong guys we have another daughter that's now a second daughter but this one is scaly which is not the best trait to have and then the other daughter we had was also inbred but they all have the perfect traits so you know i can't complain about that so we finally have a perfect daughter look at that giant genius beautiful amazonian it's amazing we've had a couple other kids and i'm not gonna lie a lot of them are inbred so i might have made a mistake in marrying my son to my granddaughter last time but it was just like the traits were too nice i couldn't avoid it but what i probably should have done was just married to him this guy to someone who still had decent traits but like not all perfect and wasn't super related to him but i'm sure if i keep having kids i'll eventually have a son that is uh perfect but you know what i'm gonna settle with the perfect daughter for now i really like these traits we have the strong blood you can see we have 20 000 troops and we don't even have that much land well i guess i do have a lot of africa now but i feel like we didn't have that much land for most of the game it's been really fun honestly doing this it's definitely been a challenge like i'm almost at 1100 a.d um i had done this before with a few friends online and i'm gonna say it goes a lot faster when you do it with a couple friends because if they're breeding their own um race of superhumans then you have like more people to breed with so you don't get as much uh inbreeding going on but it was still it's still doable with one person and you can see here it produces results so pretty fun little challenge here i'm happy i did it but i think that's where i'm gonna end the video for today i hope you guys like it i know it's been a while since i posted but i had just been getting killed by uh exams and projects and stuff so i'll try to put some videos out
