Create Annotation

so the objective here so I should see a toolbar that appears maybe not in the same location for - for live link then this changes setting labeling to use my Plex engine and I can see several states now have more than one state name and some states are double stacked Kentucky's label twice California three four times because there are a few islands of the coast so they've been assigned the name California so again there's many ways to fix this but what we'll do at this point I'm going to create a geodatabase and in place in the annotation and then later then I will go in and delete the duplicates and fix some of the locations of the state names so here's where I generate the geodatabase the state name is a warning labels so I'm gonna write most of a state name I go convert labels annotation if it's grayed out it's likely because you don't have not you don't have any labels on make sure that feature length is unchecked and it says state I know weren't you in a place this so I'm gonna go look for a folder States and then I look under there's no database and I'm gonna go to the option to make a new file geodatabase shape shape so there's my state my geodatabase I'm gonna rename this I call it may be less than two and I'm gonna go into the database double click enter there the new layer name is gonna be called state I know let's see so I'm making a new layer called state a Doe it's an annotation layer inside the geo database I'll go convert so now on the left side you can see there's now a layer of just labels now the next step will be to added these labels
