I cannot believe it's the second law station of dream week 2008 it and everybody says but next year we're gonna be great at 2019 we are going from greater to also next year we are celebrating 25 years CRC is 25 years old so we are going to have a huge Holy Ghost bash next year in CA really is the color tonight okay I see you've got red shoes on I've decided to join the red brigade tonight amen the people I love so much you made and I made some wonderful people in lady brand that's where I encountered God and they asked me pause the police mention lady brain how can I not mention lady brand even Reinhard Bonnke lifting lady brain so a big shout out to everybody here tonight from lady brain love you hey you made it well if ii knows a la station and again we are going to be greatly placed here in blue burning the place is already full so i'm glad you came early because after which we can have a holy ghost body with past whoever but tonight again he's final station one of the great teachers in the earth today the author of many many books his ministry is all over the earth books translated in over 70 languages one of the most popular I mean popular in the sense of in-demand speakers to bring God's Word today and I really believe that Master John carries a message listen I sleep well before you clap that is relevant for today because if we go over to March the side we're get into a ditch so we don't want to use the word ballads but we do want to say that we are here for a purpose and we are yet to serve our God and we are here to make our God famous and this Christianity is not all about me me me me so although we want you placed we want you to leave this conference inspired to go make a difference in your world and to make your God proud so I want us to put our hands together and give Pastor John but via the biggest hand clap come on gloom contain a big big shoutout [Applause] good evening everyone crc how are you can I can I say that this is this is my last service I'll be with you this time and I wrote ooh love you more and more every time I come here I want to thank everyone I want to thank you Pastor OTT for being a friend for being the great leader you are in this nation and in the nations of the world I will say that every service you and nareta are absolutely amazing and I really mean that and I'm so proud your Dutch I'm a little bit of Dutch she's a lot more Dutch than me but anyway I'm just joking I want to thank all the pastors that I've gotten to meet all the CRC pastors that have come from all over I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you I want to thank everyone that has served the guys in the parking lot lays the preparing the food the ushers the camera people the people up there in the audio you guys have been amazing thank you so much I want to say it's been a real privilege to stand beside and with the other men and women of God that have ministered in this conference I am deeply honored and I'm deeply honored to be a part of this movement and I'm going to tell you something your greatest days are yet ahead I'm telling you I'm not saying that to flatter your greatest days are yet ahead it is glory time yeah well listen I I have so much I want to say tonight I want every minute I can get so is that all right if I pray and we get into the Word of God it's kind of interesting this morning the Holy Spirit was very strong with me about what to speak on tonight and then when I I you know with the communion service it affirmed it and so I really believe that you put the communion service in this together and I think you're gonna get a package here all right you understand what I'm saying because you know it's the Holy Spirit speaking this week each of us may just have a word and you put all the words together and you get what he's saying you understand what I'm saying all right so father in the name of Jesus we are honored to be your children so honored you could have made us slaves and we would have been so much better off than where we were but you call the sons and daughters royalty we're so grateful sir and I'm asking tonight Holy Spirit that you do what you love to do the most glorify and magnify Jesus I'm asking that you would reveal him in a way like we've never known him before I'm asking that you would open our eyes to see give us ears to hear give us our heart to receive and understand for I declare it will be done in this place tonight on earth as it is in heaven I'm asking that you would not only give me your word but give me your heart to deliver it let it be as if Jesus was here speaking to us personally for this we give you all the honor the praise the glory and the Thanksgiving and it's in Jesus mighty wonderful majestic holy awesome magnificent name we pray and everybody that agrees show amen amen you can be seated I want to open up tonight with a quote from CS Lewis anybody ever hear of CS Lewis CS Lewis wrote in mere christianity if you read history I think we got up in the board yeah we do we if you read history you will find that the Christians who did the most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next it is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they had become so ineffective in this one three years ago I was asked to the nation of Brazil I go down there a lot and they asked me to speak to only their pastors and their leaders so it would be a closed meeting just for the pastors and leaders of this church Network I flowed flew down to goiânia which is the I think the fourth or fifth largest city in Brazil and when they drove me to the arena on that Friday night you heard what I said arena I walked into that arena with 12500 on fire pastors and leaders I mean they were blowing the roof off they are like you okay that is a compliment and I'm not flattering okay and man I was so overwhelmed it was so easy to preach I mean you got to leave the ministry if you can't preach in that place right so the next day I'm having lunch with eight of the top pastors and they put the guy that spoke the best English across the table from Yesod so how many people are in your churches and they said well our churches have 300 thousand people over 300 thousand people I said now that's that's that's amazing I said when did this whole network begin when did this whole thing this movement began what you know and I'm thinking they're gonna say 40 50 years ago and the guy who looks at me and goes we started 16 years ago with one man okay I dropped my fork I said whoa whoa wait a minute you're telling me that you've built a church network of over three hundred thousand people in the first world nation in 16 years he said yeah I said how do you do that now I think I know the answer I think the answer is going to because of our connect groups right because they're big in South America with connect groups and the guy without even batting an eye without hesitation he goes it's because we teach our people on eternal rewards and judgment and I went what any since John I preached a lot of American conferences you Americans are very 7080 years minded he said we are eternally minded so I came back and I started preaching this all over America after that okay life is all about a perspective everybody say perspective see if I go to a wedding and in that wedding they have a dessert table you know the receptions we do that do you do that right big reception you have a meal if there's big dessert table and I have a one-day perspective what am I gonna do I'm gonna eat every dessert on that table right but if I get a six month perspective I'm gonna eat one or zero of those desserts why I don't want an upset stomach tomorrow I don't want ten pounds of fat on my body next week and I don't want compromise long term health well when you have an eternal perspective you live differently you think differently you endure things that people wouldn't endure you make you make set goals differently you pursue things differently well John the Apostle when he was in his 90s so what'd you think about this Jesus called when he was a teenager so he's been serving the Lord faithfully for 70 plus years he writes in one of the last books he writes on earth he says look to yourselves everybody say look to myself so you can see immediately this message is not for the person sitting next to you it's for you that we do not lose those things we work for I don't know about you but that's one of the most sobering statements in the whole New Testament for me you can't lose what you've labored for but everybody say but that we may receive a full reward everybody's not reward how many of you know God's our reward er oh that was that was okay let me try that one more time how many of you know God's a reward I mean look how does he introduced himself to Abraham he appears to this guy and says hey I am your shield you're exceeding great reward what a way to introduce yourself to somebody when you're God right now the thing that really got my attention if you can flip the scripture right back up again is the fact that John just didn't say reward did you notice he specifically says full reward now for there to be a full reward means what that means there's a partial reward scenario and there is a no reward scenario isn't it interesting - John doesn't write say hey live in such a wait you're going to get a partial reward why doesn't he say that because listen to me God listen to these words God one shoe to receive the full reward but as a wise dad I've learned something I've got four sons right I don't reward my sons unless they've earned it or deserved it why because if I reward my children without them earning it or deserving it I take away incentive and incentive is a good thing now why does John write this with such passion think about it's like one of the last letters he's ever gonna write he knows this time short why is he saying this because he knows something a lot of believers don't know and understand and that is this one day every one of us is gonna stand before Jesus Christ as our judge whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa John Jesus is my Savior yes he's our Savior but you're also gonna stand before him his judge he said wait whoa whoa where do you get that from second Corinthians chapter 5 I'm glad yes that's a good question Paul says we are confident yes very well please rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord so right there right there we know Paul is not talking about all humanity why because when an unbelievers absent from the body they're not in the presence of the Lord they're in hell okay so we know he's only speaking to believers here so look what Paul says in the next verse verse 9 therefore we make it our aim our goal whether present or absent to be well pleasing to him so Paul says this is my goal my goal is to be well pleasing you know I was sitting around the table with our four sons they were all their teenage years and I just felt one night we were eating dinner I just felt to say this time I looked at mrs. guys I want to make something really clear you can never do one thing to make your mother and I love you any more than we love you and if someone make another thing clear you can never do one thing to make us love you any less and we love you and you could see them just taking comfort in that statement right but then I said but you are in charge of how pleased we are with you see you can't do one thing to make God love you any more any loves you you can't do a thing to make them love you any less than he loves you but we are in charge of how pleased he is with us that's why Paul says we make it our goal to be we're not just pleasing well pleasing why is that Paul because in the next verse for we now remember we here is only Christians must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ then each one may receive the things done in the body according to what he has done whether good or what what does that word come on sing it it won't hurt you to say okay and a real accurate translation a better translation would have said whether good or worthless okay every one of us is gonna stand before the judgment seat of Christ listen to me carefully at that judgment as believers we will not be judged for our sins if I say Amen or thank God for that right why because our sins have been eradicated by the blood of Jesus at that judgment rather we will give an account of how we live this life as believers now we got a problem here when you say the word judgment today you know where people's minds go their minds go to the word condemnation that is not what the word judgment means the word judgment in the Greek is the Greek word crema ninety over ninety percent of the times that it is used in regard to Christians in the New Testament here is its definition are you ready for it a decision resulting from an investigation so when you hear the word judgment don't go to condemnation go to decision so Jesus is going to do a thorough investigation on enter every one of our lives as believers at this believers judgment okay not only will he examine our works and our words but he will examine our thoughts and our motives you say whoa whoa whoa where do you get that from Oh glad you asked again first Corinthians chapter four verse five so don't make any judgments about anyone ahead of time before the Lord returns where he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives now watch this then God will give to each one whatever praises do sinners will not get any praise from God at their judgment he cannot be talking about the sinners judgment let's talk about our judgment oh it's quiet in this Methodist Church right now are you still here you're just listening real good right all right now the writer of Hebrews tells us and this is one of the foundational doctrines of the church tells us that the judgments everybody say decisions the judgments decisions that Jesus make they're going to be eternal put that up for me Hebrews chapter 6 don't everybody see it they're going to be eternal decisions you got it are you tracking with me so you know what that means listen carefully there's never going to be any changes to those decisions there's never going to be any revisions they're gonna stand forever so you know what that tells me what we do with the Cross does indeed determine where we're gonna spend eternity however the way we live as believers determines how we're gonna spend eternity did you get that what we do with the cross determines where we're gonna spend eternity how we live as believers determines excuse me the way we live as believers determines how we're going to spend it now James and his little book the fourth chapter the fourteenth verse makes the statement he said this life is a vapor everybody say vapor okay if James was alive today he would have written it that way you would have written it differently he would have said this life is zero now how do I know that because we know that something through simple mathematics that James didn't know and that is this any finite number divided by infinity is equal to zero so remember junior high mathematics come on talk to me if you have 80 years and you divide 80 years you compare it to eternity what do you get zero let's say you make it to a hundred and thirty six years old I really don't want to go that far okay and you divide a hundred and thirty six by eternity what do you still get so you know what that means what we do in this zero time determines how we're gonna spend eternity okay let me help you get a little grasp on this all right suppose the leader stood up here in this platform tonight and he looked at us and he said let's say we could live in our bodies a little bit longer than what we can live in him now and he looks at us all and says all right the way you spend the next twenty four hours one day one day between now five o'clock tomorrow night it's going to just determine how you spend the next thousand years on this earth all right would you stop and think about a thousand years go back to get a reference if you go back first of all United States Australia United States ow that didn't even exist right I mean you're back in the time of the Crusaders it's a long time I mean King Henry a king louis xiv you hadn't been born yet that's a long time but the job you do the people you work with what you do where you live whether it's siberia russia or hawaii for the next thousand years it's gonna be determined by how you live in the next 24 hours how would you live that next 24 hours would you live it with purpose or would you by chance you better believe you deliver it with purpose yet it's nothing compared to what I'm talking to you because one day / 365,000 days the number of days and a thousand years to Silla finite number so let's go a little further let's say this leader said all right the way you live for them the next 24 hours one day will determine how you spend the next million years on this earth now we can't even write you can't comprehend a million because we can't we don't have a reference point if you go back to 6,000 years here at atom but yet the job you do the people you work with the neighborhood you live in where you live whether it's a wire Siberia for the next million years it's gonna be determined by how you stone in the next 24 hours how would you live in the next 24 hours sure is quiet right now you better believe you'd live it with purpose right you still with me now when I when I wrote this book and I'm preaching to you out of this book called driven by eternity I've just updated it revised it put new stories in it cuz this is this of all the books that God has ever had me write no book has impacted me more than this book I was shaking when I was writing this book I was also saying to myself who's gonna read this and it's one of the bestsellers that we've written okay so so here's the deal I remember I remember I was out praying and the Holy Spirit spoke to me said son I want you to write a book on the judgment-seat sounds like what I've never preached 20 minutes on the judgment-seat how can I write a chapter let alone a book and of course he didn't say anything so I went home I got on my Bible computer I went through seven translations got every scripture with the word eternity rewards judgment loss heaven hell and I cut and pasted it I ended up with a three-ring binder that thick with scriptures at 12 points I was like boy God's got a lot to say about this now you know what one of the first things I noticed about this is when God speaks about our lives here on earth in regard to eternity in Scripture do you know what he often refers to us as builders everybody say that when we builder see let me give you an example except the Lord build the house they labor in vain who build it here's another one this stone which the builders rejected became the chief Cornerstone you follow me Jesus gave the Apostle profit evangelists pastors and teachers right right to do what to help the Saints in their ministry of building up the body of Christ now the other thing I noticed is that when I was meditating because I didn't write one word until I meditated on these scriptures for a solid month the other thing when I was meditating on these scriptures I noticed at the judgment there's going to be two major areas that we're gonna be examining area number one our involvement in building the kingdom of God we put that out yep it's up there our involvement in building the kingdom of God you got it what do I mean by that did you fulfill the calling on your life to build the kingdom you got it so that would certainly include using your gifts and talents that God's giving you not for yourself but to build his kingdom a gift on my life my worst type you can high school was English and creative writing but God put this gift on my life too right now the books are actually in the tens of millions and in a hundred and seven languages okay they're all over the world if you would have said to me John you're gonna be an author that's gonna write and people gonna read your books all over the world I would last you out of the room thirty years ago but it was a gift he put on my life then I didn't have my own ability another gift is speaking so I could have gone into the business world and I could have done pretty good because I'm business minded but I wouldn't have really effectively utilized the giftings because the callings and the giftings work together okay you would not want me dancing or singing up here tonight you got what I'm saying because they're amazing your songs are amazing by the way amen my goodness okay so I want you to notice that Paul how many of you know that the Corinthian church I talked about him last night right they were very 78 to 80 years minded Paul is constantly dealing with these guys to get them into an internal mindset right so in chapter 3 Paul says hey you can build your life and others however you feel to do it you can build for the eternal or you can build for the temporal if you build for the eternal it's like building with gold silver and precious stones if you build for the temporal it's like build building with wood hay and straw right and then he says this to them in first Corinthians 3:13 on judgement day fire will reveal what kind of work each builder everybody say I'm a builder has done the fire will show if a person's work is any value so you put fire under what hay and straw gon fire under gold silver precious stones it purifies them oh that's good innit are you following me so it's like Matt Matt let's talk about this just for a second we camp here just for a second remember every motive is gonna be examined so let's say you're on this amazing worship team and it is amazing okay but your purpose is being on this amazing team your real motive is you want to be seen by the people of crc every practice every song you've written every service you've done will be burned up right before your eyes at the judgment but now hold on standing next to you on the same worship team this person is wanting to be on the worship team because they want to lead people in the presence of jesus they're gonna receive a great reward you can be a business man or woman and if you're building just to take care of your family and build your wealth it's all gonna burn up baby but if you're a businessman with a woman with a purpose of building the kingdom and by the way the bible tells you a good man leaves and inheritance for his children and children's children so you should be taking care of your family you're gonna receive a great reward guys were a lot louder last night if the work survives that builder everybody say I'm a builder will receive a reward remember what John said hopefully it's a full reward right not a partial reward and now look at the next verse but if the work is burned up the Builder will suffer great loss and the Bible says great loss it's great loss the Builder will be saved in other words he or she is going to heaven cuz they're saved but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames can you imagine the day you retire your bank closes its doors all the money you've ever earned all your life gone one day the day you retire the same day your government goes bankrupt all your social security that you involuntarily were touched upon all your life is gone the same day your house burns to the ground and you get out with just the shirt on your back now can I be honest with you a lot of you can't comprehend that situation but we've been donations Lisa and I that people can comprehend that situation my wife was just in Iraq three years ago she actually sat down and had tea with a family that was making five hundred thousand dollars a year us but because of Isis they are now living in a shipping container see it's one thing to have that kind of money and then live in a shipping container you understand what I'm talking about this is the language that Paul uses to describe how some believers are going to enter into eternity I know believe the reason I'm not crying right now is cuz I cried when I was writing this okay alright so Paul then goes a little ways with these Corinthians and he says so run your race everybody say my race hmm that you may lay hold of the prize now I calls it a prize not a reward and make it yours oh man there's so much in this when when I came back from Brazil and I updated this book and put new stories in all that stuff I told my team I said I'm so passionate about this so I've got a million and a half people on my social media right so I started broadcasting this like crazy on my social media and boy did I you know when you got a million have people on your social media you gonna get some responses and I got a lot of responses on this and you know what the number one response was a rebuttal I had so many Christians saying on my social media I don't live for Jesus to get a reward I live for Jesus because I love it and I was looking at those statements when I was going you know god I actually kind of agree with them I really did and I said you got it you got to help me with this and you know the Lord said to me he said tell me about the Apostle John's life whoa I already knew where he was going he was the Apostle that said five times he was the one that Jesus loved he was the one that put his head on his bosom and Jesus and revealed information he wasn't otherwise going to reveal on who the traitor was he he was the one that was at the foot of the cross and Jesus said mom there is nobody that loves me more than this man behold your new son yep this guy writes and says live in such a way that you're going to get a reward at the end of his life and then the Holy Spirit reminded me of a vision he gave me about six years ago in this vision I saw the City of Jerusalem the New Jerusalem oh my goodness is it big big big and I saw the armies of heaven marching through the streets and there were myriads of people on the sidewalks cheering this army and you know where these aren't this army was going Jesus was on this platform in the middle of City and there was these long stairs that went up and the army was all going towards that and bringing Jesus his reward souls and the Holy Spirit in the middle division asks me a question he said do you want to be one of the persons standing on the sidewalk or do you want to be one of the soldiers I said I want to be one of the soldiers live in such a way that you're gonna get a full reward you see in this now notice Paul says run your race everybody say my race say it again my race okay now do you have cross-country track so when I'm in high school we got cross-country track right and because you know you live in the city you got a route and every runner gets the route right can you imagine if you're one of those cross-country runners and you don't know your route they're gonna fire the gun and you're gonna run and you're gonna run and you're gonna run and you're gonna run and the sun's gonna go down and you're gonna keep running until you fall over and they carry you home but you won't be able to say I finished because you didn't know your route how do you think Jesus was able to say in John 17 for father I finished the work you've given me to do how do you think the Apostle Paul was able to say I finished my race because he knew his course you know where I'm going don't you so the body of Ephesians you know says you're saved by faith and all that but then we never continue we always stop with 8 and 9 but 10 says for I'm an author I understand the word for means because of this so you say by grace not of works I've done right because we are his workmanship everybody say workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do listen to me you were not only creating Christ Jesus to be a son or daughter of God you were equally creating Christ Jesus to do something [Applause] you also be on your feet right now okay let me let me let me okay no no no no no we got to help everybody it's not getting this yet okay so the mindset sometimes is Oh pastor rock he's got a car in his life right to worship team you know we think just the pastor's the teachers the worship leaders the missionaries have a call in their life know if you're born again this is what Paul is telling you if you're born again you have a calling on your life now you get it right you are just as cold as I am you have a course just as much as I do I'm loving this I'm preaching myself happy right now now look at this put the scripture back up to do good works which God prepared beforehand everybody say prepared beforehand oh I like that that we should notice it didn't say we would all right walk in them all right I want to deal with both of these things first of all God prepared your calling beforehand how far beforehand Psalm 139 tells us David says you saw me before I was born every day of my life was recorded in your book everybody say book do you understand there's a book written about your life before you were born oh my gosh I'm having so much fun and listen every day of your life is already written in that book before you were born look at this it gets better every moment everybody say every moment was laid out before a single day began before you were born God wrote the story if you'd like to see this is what he does he says I am the god right who does what who finishes it before I begin now God doesn't make you do anything but he does no because he's not bound of time he doesn't know what you're gonna end up doing but God says how does master plan you know Jesus called the lamb slain from the foundations of the earth God the Father went to Jesus said son we're gonna create man mess up would you go die for them yeah dad I'll do it you are the lamb slain from the foundation so there he declares the end from the beginning do you see that okay so God wrote every one of our lives out a book remember in the book of Daniel says at the judgement the books are going to be open what books the book he wrote about your life there is a book of John not that John in the Bible this John there's a book up out there is a book of nareta are you getting this okay so what he's gonna do is open the book and said let me let's read about what I wrote about your life and let's compare to how you live see decrease has excelsis it look at this that which is put it up there for me please has it that which is has already been that's what's going on in the book and what is the beat that's tomorrow it's already written in the book but now look at this next statement and God requires an account what's in the past that's judgment in other words did you walk and what I wrote in the book or did you go a different way your own way so when so regard our callings okay not our personal influence on people regard to our callings we're not gonna be judged on what we did we're gonna be judged on what we were called to do watch this video question what are you called to do ask that question because we won't be judged according to what we did in life but rather what we were called to do life imagine with me standing before the throne of God and a scenario like this occur evangelist Anderson come forth and give an account of your stewardship on earth evangelist Anderson I'm not an Avenger sir I'm an accountant hi and in the county for a head evangelist Anderson where are the three hundred forty seven thousand five hundred and sixty six Souls I called you to impact an Asia Sun where are they I'm gonna I'm gonna tell them they're toning firm I help churches I help ministries with their finances son where are the three hundred and forty seven thousand five hundred and sixty six souls in I called you to impact son where are they as you saw me as you saw my face I would have revealed this to you [Music] the counted Jones step forth and give an account of your stewardship accountant just caster for 35 years I mastered a membership of 750 people and accountant Jones I called you to the marketplace had you done this you would have significantly impacted two people you and those two men would have helped churches with their finances and those churches would have impacted 750 1321 Souls if you would have sought me man I would have revealed this to you [Music] sister smith come forth to give an account of your stewardship I only raised three children I I never preached information inside I've never even been on a missionary trip but I only tried my hardest to raise my Smith I never called you to preach the nation's I never called you to go to other countries on missionary trips I called you to raise three children let me show you the 1 million five hundred seventy nine thousand five hundred forty-one souls those three children impacted you sought me and you heard my voice you were obedient to my call well done my good and faithful servant enter into the joy of your Lord [Music] so remember in regards to the calling that's on your life you won't be judged according to what you did you'll be judged according to what you were called to do [Applause] [Applause] so give me just just a couple more minutes because my mind will go somewhere else what is you play that just give me a minute because I I don't think very well when the music's playing I'm so sorry I'm I know most preachers do I'm weird I've been travelling all over the world for years can I tell you I've seen people in ministry that I knew were called the business world I've seen people in the business world I knew were called in ministry I've seen people not fulfill their calling because they were too attached to relationships that were not healthy I've seen people not fulfill their calling because they love security too much couple years ago I was in Hawaii do you guys know what a Navy Seal is it's probably the finest fighting soldier in the world and I'm not saying that because they're American I'm not being by their amazing so this Navy SEAL had been really impacted by our ministry and he wanted to go to dinner with me can I tell you if you're a Navy SEAL you want to go to dinner with me let's go I have so much respect for those guys they all look like him so we're at dinner and I just looked at me I looked at this guy's eyes they were clear full of fire I said what's your story he said well John I was raised in a Christian home and he said I've loved Jesus all my life and he said I thought the best way to serve Jesus going to ministry so he said I went two years in Bible School and he said after the two years I interned in a very large Church in the northeast part of the United States he said during that third year I was accused of sleeping with the girl in the youth group he said John I never did it but the elders believed her he said they stripped me of everything took away my credentials kicked me out of the organization he said three years of my life gone said I started seeking God like crazy he said you know I'll be really honestly John I was superficially seeking God now I'm really thinking God and he said while I was praying the Holy Spirit said I didn't call you to ministry I called you to military so he said I went to the army I went to the Air Force I went to the Marines totally flattened my spirit there's only one left the Navy so I go the Navy the Navy recruiters reading down a list and he says the word SEALs said I had no idea what a SEAL was he said it just jumped inside of me that's it that's it that's what I'm supposed to do recruiter goes no no no no you don't want to be a seal 90% of the men flunk out of being a Navy SEAL every guy in this recruiting office flunked out you don't want to do it he said no no no that's what I'm supposed to do what they both didn't know is that he didn't know how to swim and there was a reason for it he was born with defective eardrums and if he get a little water in his ear even in the shower he would be an excruciating pain so you know what he decided to me he said I taught myself to swim and during the pain he said I kept praying every day for my ears to be healed one day after like a long time of trainings he goes down two feet five feet no pain son was completely healed now he's going through his SEAL training right they come to hell week they call it hell week okay he said we're carrying a boat on top of my head running down the beach of San Diego some kid dug a hole with his little shovel and pail said my foot went in the hole tore everything from all the way from my ankle to my knee everything he said not my Navy SEAL physical was that weak and if you flunk that physical you can never be a seal now go into the physical the doctor flunked me I said doc you can't do this this is like what I'm called to do dr. Koh's are you questioning me I'm an officer that's nicer he said I come out of that so dejected one of my friends saw me said listen I've been going to a Bible study you wouldn't just go with me tonight he was like yeah I'll go to a Bible study goes his Bible study with the guy who teaches the Bible study is an officer over the doctor and you know what he's teaching how to be led by the spirit and he said like I had a cadets application come by and he was rejected on his medical I felt my heart it was wrong so I overrode the doctor now listen he doesn't even know it's him after the meeting he finds out it was him so he becomes the seal now he starts telling me about his missions now I he spent an hour and a half telling me about his missions let me tell you the one quick one cuz I'm out of time he said we were in Afghanistan we got some intel on some al-qaeda he said but it was tainted Intel it was an ambush it was a setup he said thirty of us SEALs go in right he said all of a sudden there's automatic machine guns coming from both sides he's John I'm feeling feeling bullets whizzed by my head okay he said we get in we get the bad guys all thirty of us get out and not one of us is injured two weeks later he says I'm on the phone he says with my mom and he says my mom is the next time you talk to her my mom says what was going on when your phone called me two weeks ago what your phone called me two weeks ago we heard gunfire and we were in our woman's prayer meeting and we started praying for your safety now hold on it gets better it gets better hold on hold on just a sec just a sec hold on this is amazing because John we can't have any pre-programmed numbers on her phone phones got to be turned off can't have pre dialed numbers my phone has to be clear in case we're captured we carry our phone right there so we can turn on and manually dial somehow my phone turned itself on in the middle of that raid cause my mom's cell phone who just happened to be under woman's prayer meeting and that's why we get in and get out that's just one of many stories okay is he called to be a seal you better believe it I just got to say this really quick because I got close but some of you may be sitting there going I'm too old I'm 50 I'm 60 hey Smith Wigglesworth didn't start until he was in his 50s he's one of the greatest men of God in their 20th century Moses didn't start till he was 80 I look at my friend bill bill work for us he was one of our IT people and you know what bill just talked about Kenya Africa too much so one day I call build a mile off as he's 55 years old I said bill you talking about Africa too much I will buy you and your wife a one-way ticket to Kenya to Nairobi he goes kind of talking about wife a lot until I said sure he's 55 she's 62 they both come in the next day we're going this was 10 years ago in the last 10 years they have set up 16 Bible schools in the bush of Kenya Africa he's sitting in my office he's sitting my office and he goes John I've had malaria 17 times and he's laughing he said I told my children on this trip if you want to see your mom and dad buried you're gonna have to come to Africa cuz we're never leaving we're having the time of our life I could give you my story but I don't have time I've run out of time but let me tell you something every one of you has a call on your life I don't care if it's to raise two children I don't care if it's a work in the business world if it's to be a doctor I don't care if it's to be a missionary I don't care what it is you have a call and I spent a whole chapter in here and how to discover your cha call but let me just say one of the most important the Bible says those that are planted in the house of God will flourish listen listen listen listen listen if I plant if I plant a mango seed I do not listen get a papaya tree when you're planted in the house of God you flourish into what you were called that's one of many ways we find out what our calling is did you get something out of this tonight did you get something out of this tonight yeah so listen listen how is glory going to happen when we are fully engaged in our callings and I'm so excited for this church I love you get the book god bless you [Applause]
