okay youtube today i have a craftsman chainsaw it's a 42 cc uh it is the same chainsaw as a pull and pro i have the same saw but it's a mine's a pulling pro the complaint is that it will not idle uh i think it's going to be more than just a carburetor adjustment but we're going to find out let me fire it up i have the carb adjustment tool here somewhere right here okay so i'm gonna try to adjust this carburetor and get this thing to run a little bit better so let's find out and we'll take it from there yeah of course all right apparently i don't have the right tool to pull this cover off and see what i got yeah that feels good and clean what i want to see here is these adjusters here and why this one don't fit okay what i'm attempting to do is i want to get down and see these uh screws a little bit better so we're going to have to remove this carburetor and want to get the cover off this carburetor [Music] i'm thinking i might have some caps on here that's preventing me from putting the uh get you in a little bit closer my lighting is still terrible try to get some light on it so you guys can see a little bit better what i'm doing here it's holding that on there mine usually just pops right off that there it goes the primer line on there for the purge line and this line here come on don't cooperate with me today there we go that's [Music] off pull this off still gotta get that throttle cable off of there i'm gonna add a i like having all this dirt hanging around like that let's see what we got i don't really have anything that's gonna be able to do anything with that that best six point socket to do it and i don't have that nope all right well i know what i'm dealing with so i'm gonna put this all back together that's the second job got nowhere tonight why are we having a cover off here i want to take a look at this plug it looks like a pretty new plug so i'm kind of curious why this thing running [Music] yeah like i thought it's a pretty new plug see what the gap is i need to get my wire filler gauge again okay the gap was very well closed it was almost down to 20. just barely got the 28 in there to get it to okay so we're going to come up to about 28. it's a new plug but it looks like it burned a little on the rich side so which actually i would prefer to see that then lean because then that means at least fuel's getting there where it needs to go yeah that's something we probably should do to put the wire back on that would have never ran [Applause] today we're going to try to adjust this chainsaw we did try it before but we did not have the right tools this is going to be the chainsaw that we're gonna be doing it's good i'm gonna try to adjust it without having to take the carburetor for that and rebuilding it all and i'll see what we can do i bought this little kit on amazon it was 10 bucks on amazon plus shipping and tax but it's got every thing i'm going to need for every should be everything i need for any saw that i want to adjust so it's worth it this looks like the one i need if i remember right but i've got quite a few to choose from here six star small head pac-man splat spline that's the one i want shape double d hexagon another spline number seven spline small head single d single d so it's either going to be this one or this one and i think that one's too big i think it's this one here so we're gonna try doing that and see what we get okay here since my bench is full yeah just too many things going on one time here yeah that feels like it i'm just gonna go to the initial adjustments and do it from there lightly seated on the back that's one turn and a quarter we'll do the same on the high speed that's one turn and a quarter okay let's see what we get if she does not want to stay running so i'm gonna do this might be too so oh so [Music] so okay that's all i really needed was a little bit of an adjustment they had the uh the idle adjustment screw all the way in i had to back that out a little bit but that's all there was to just a little bit of a curve adjustment you
