COZY DAY IN THE LIFE | Productive work day & making fortune cookies! ✨

Hello friends good morning and welcome to another day in the life video so far I've had a good morning it's been kind of slow I woke up around the 7:00 a.m. and just made some coffee had my quiet time I have my coffee in this cute little teacup I thrifted I vloged that day so if you watched it you all remember this cutie pie teacup and it just makes me feel so fancy and cute to drink it out of a teacup I really miss going to thrift stores in Florida were actually in phase 1 of reopening so a lot of retail locations are now open at 25% capacity and I don't really know if their shops are open though I need to figure that out because I actually have a lot of clothes to donate that I want to drop off my trunk of my car is just filled to the brim so I gotta get on that later this week to add that to my to-do list but today we have a good day I want to make it productive because I have some work I really want to get done I have a video I want to edit emails to answer all that good stuff and what else do I have today Oh my little desk in our living room I actually want to revamp it give it a little makeover because I've had it decorated that way since I was in college basically and I just kind of want a little different more neutral vibe to it so I'll show you guys like my info board and cut some of the pieces that I've pulled that I want to order to kind of give you an idea but I want to work on that and order some of the items today so we'll do that and I also have a lot of clothing that I want to put for sale on my little boutique Instagram page so we'll do that probably right now after I film this little intro and then I also am doing a vegetarian lunch ideas video so I need to film a recipe for that and then oh the last thing I want to do so I've been watching the Great British baking show a lot recently which is one of my favorite shows if you haven't watched it I highly recommend it it's so cute so pure so precious and one of the recipes they made recently was fortune cookie I never even thought to make fortune cookies I love them whenever I go out to eat and am able to get them but I've never thought about baking them so I'm interested to bake them later and if it turns out well and if it's fairly easy to make which I'm not sure might be a fail but we'll see I think that's such a cute gift idea because you can add little personalized notes and messages so we're gonna try that later and just make it a fun day but I'm so excited to spend time with you today and make it a good one so this is my super casual outfit of the day I have pants on I promise so I have my fuzzy Amazon slippers you know naturally I pretty much always have these on when I'm at home and then I have like little biker shorts on and then I have this vintage Disneyland sweater that was actually my dad that I stole from him a while ago and then my gold jewelry so really comfy casual outfit but I'm about to change a million times because I'm going to take photos of all these clothing pieces that I have going up on my shop for sale and I like to try them on and take pictures in them so it's easier for people to see the fit okay take a ton of photos of the clothing that I'm putting up for sale and I posted that so I'll do more work for that later but my tummy is rumbling I am hungry Brandon is currently in a meeting so I'm gonna need to be a little quiet but he's in has me until noon so I want to get started on lunch I think I definitely want to make a smoothie for lunch but I need something a little more hearty to go along with that and I know I'm gonna make taco salad for dinner so I don't really want to make a salad or nachos so I kind of need to brainstorm what else I want to have oh I made lentil soup last night so maybe some lentil soup and a smoothie or pita chips and hummus I think that's gonna be the move so we're gonna pop over to the kitchen I won't be able to blend this movie until his meetings done but I can prep it and get it all ready to go so right at noon we can eat up if anyone else so in love with pita chips and hummus it's one of my favorite snacks okay here's what I have for the smoothie I put some orange juice on the bottom with some chia seeds and flax seed and then a bunch of spinach and then I added in some frozen bananas blueberries frozen raspberries oh all the fruits frozen by the way so I have some blueberries raspberries blackberries and topped it off with mango and some peanut butters so hopefully it turns out super delicious I feel like this cabinet is the epitome of apartment living because we have some kitchen stuff is where we keep our blender but then we also have like all of Brandon's notebooks and textbooks for work and from college and for God school and all that stuff so yep we are just making it work in a smaller space delicious raining just said that this smoothie bike might be his favorite ever and there's pretty good if I say so myself it really is amazing how you don't taste the spinach at all the fruit is just so powerful and the peanut butter just really awesome how you can hide in some veggies in there make sure you get enough veggies but also eating something super delicious so strong finish would be stronger right okay so like I mentioned earlier today I want to kind of revamp and redo my little desk area over here so I'm gonna kind of show you my mood board and what kind of vibe I'm going for I just made like a little mood board with some pictures from Pinterest so you can kind of get an idea and then I want to browse a couple of websites like where I like to get home decor to see if there's any products that kind of fit the mood board that I want to order so this is my desk space right now it's super cute but I just have like some organization issues down here and this tripod I actually keep in the closet but it's just out now because I'm filming a video later but yeah it's just it's cute and stuff but it's a little too pink for me right now especially since it's just right in the living room so I kind of want more of a neutral vibe so let me show you what the little mood board I made so this is what I'm thinking I can insert an I'll insert an image over this video so you can see it better but it's just very like coastal and neutral and this is the chair I have right now Brandon's actually using it because he's been sitting down a lot more than I have during the day and it's a lot comfier for him when he's working from home so I think I'm gonna try to keep this chair because buying a new chair is pretty expensive but I want to get some pampas grass and maybe some of these like dried palm leaves and kind of just stay within like the beige and cream tones I just think that's really nice and I can print out some new artwork and kind of just revamp the space so I think in a couple days maybe later today I'll clear it out so that I can have like a blank canvas in that way when I'm able to go shopping I can kind of pull the pieces that I think will work really well also I wanted to share that I got this new pot from a place in downtown Orlando for my basil plant and I'm working really hard but alive in our apartment I'm noticing that's kind of drooping so it definitely needs some water and one of the coolest things I've seen plants just bounce back after you water it so I'm going to take a little before and after picture of what it looks like before I water it and what it looks like after I water it okay the time has come I'm gonna attempt emphasis on attempts to make fortune cookies I found a recipe by tasty and it's really simple and visual so I'm just gonna follow that one there's really not that many ingredients which I don't know it just seems like it'd be a lot more complicated then it's making then the recipe makes it out to be but again I'm sure I'm very naive and it's gonna be a lot trickier than it seems so the first thing I want to do though is write some fortunes so I'm just gonna get a little creative I have a little notepad and I'll cut them I have like a really thin pencil or I mean pen so that I can write really small but I'll probably just write like little things and stuff like that that I can stick in a fortune and I think it's only gonna make ten so I'll make ten of these maybe a little less because I'm not going to fill every single one but I'm excited I hope they turn out I made this one especially for Brandon hopefully you will see it as a sign another baking activity your favorite time of day it's your favorite time tome day you excited special delivery all my ingredients out ready to go it's really not that many ingredients so I have sugar it's half a cup of sugar for ten of them and then some salts which I just use sea salt and then vanilla extract and then flour so I got my king of flour and it's only half a cup of flour and whisk and two egg whites so I'm gonna use the two egg whites and what do you guys do with the yolk when you only use egg whites that is my question I guess I'll just throw it away that just seems really wasteful so I have that and then that's it and I just have a silicone baking sheet over my baking tray and I preheated the oven to 425 so I'm just gonna follow all the directions and hopefully they'll turn out magically what do I do with the egg yolk I just throw it away when I use egg whites to what do I do with the egg whoa just oh thank you thank you what do I do with it I'm sorry away I mean you could save it and I can fly something for eggs what we use that yeah alright we're gonna save it we're gonna be resourceful just saving my egg whoa just saving my egg woke oh wow it's so yellow okay this is my test ROM that I'm gonna pop in the oven first of all I need to use my bigger baking sheet because obviously this isn't gonna look so good but basically I'm gonna pop them in the oven for eight minutes and then I have to work really really quickly when they come out because I have to quickly fold them while they're hot so they can get into that classic fortune cookie shape so wish me luck so as you heard in Brandon a nice conversation we decided to keep the egg woke the egg yolk and I got these really cool reusable beeswax covers for just different things you can use it to wrap snacks or bread but I'm just using it to cover up this little cup with the egg yolk so just I was really cute and we're sharing oh it's on really tight which is super cool feels a little sticky but it's really neat they do not look like circles anymore they got all like discombobulated because my mat is on two smaller baking sheet I'll show you when they come out but they are looking funky walking monkey could I put up the silicone baking she is on too small of a baking sheets okay it's show time here we go oh okay okay okay see this is they look creepy they don't look like circles because the mat was all slanted so I'm gonna fix that next time and use a bigger baking sheet but now we're gonna take the spatula and take the cookie off of the silicone and we have to work really fast because it's hard I mean top okay and then okay we put the fortune in and then we fold it and then we take it to the cup and we go like this I think that oh it hurts my hands it's so hot okay and then we add it to a little muffin tin so that it hurting I think I need to use a smaller muffin tin okay we're just swinging it guys oh my fingers are too sensitive to the heat it actually doesn't look too bad that I'll show you guys once I do this it's hard to like film it and stuff oh happy healthy next time okay so I fold it with the fortune in and then I take it to the cup and kind of fold it over the edge and then add it to my muffin tin okay keep going this is a thrill a pure thrill okay so I actually think it's gonna turn out guys they look a little different than like the ones you get about an actual Chinese restaurant but this is fun add some crackage and this one I don't even think I'm gonna do anything with it look how wonky it got up keys test my fortune cookie circles are not that circular but hopefully it'll turn out okay these are the ones from the last batch and they are cutie pies ah the coloring is not like the same as the ones at restaurants and stuff but I think us because they're just freshly made fortune cookies and that's how the ones on the recipes looked so I'm feeling good about it all right round two here we go you're still looking crazy by it I mean these turned out cute so alright alright Peter my fingers you guys I am so obsessed with these little cuties they turned out adorable they are definitely a different texture than your standard fortune cookie but they got that nice shape well this one looks a little funky it was a little too big oh shoot I had one for Brandon that it was special I think it was this one he's gonna open that one I just want to put them all on the plate so you can just ones really something unique its unique and special okay so fun let's let him pick out this one all right your time has come he's been getting impatient he's been wanting to try it alright take that one right there remember it's not just like a no no no that one oh it's not just like a fortune cookie make sure you don't eat the fortune fortune cookie what the heck oh my gosh did you get part of the word oh my gosh yes I went all out oh my that's so strange what a fortune or just wow maybe you should you know make that come true hmm okay but real do you like it yeah you like it's good you don't even like fortune cookies yeah it does yeah oh you want ice cream too ok whatever Brandon wants Brandon bit off baguette and now it just says your wife a dog so I'm a dog now guys are you thinking another one fine open that one now this one yeah don't bite into it again please see the word to open it you're cheating oh my gosh you smell better than people that's good way too much fun with this fortune cookie guys I highly recommend making memes is really funny I really I never really talked about the tastes of them and if they're actually like super yummy and the answer is yes the more you eat it I feel like the more kind of addicting they are they the texture is very different than just like the ones in plastic wrap um when you go to a restaurant cuz it's a lot more tender and soft texture and then the outside is kind of crispy but the flavor it's so simple and like Brandon said it just tastes a lot like an ice-cream cone and it just has like this sweet little undertone it's a very pleasant flavor and I probably could eat all of them right now I'm gonna hold off but cuz they're so light they're not overly decadent at all they're just like so snackable and delicious okay so Brandon just finished work keen and now he's gonna start his grad school which he just started a new semester this week so he's gonna be a busy bee but it's okay so am i I am actually about to film for a video that I'm doing it's going to be five healthy lunch vegetarian lunch ideas and they're all gonna be like lunchbox friendly so when people go back to school or work it's very easy to pack up and take along for your day or just have it when you're at home and tonight's recipe it's actually nice because I'm making dinner while I film this because will eat this for dinner I'm making my taco salad recipe so I just have all the ingredients and I'm gonna film the directions and then we can enjoy a nice yummy meal after I finish that so I'll give you guys a little behind this situation finished filming and this is the final product for my taco salad it seriously is so yummy and healthy and I have topo Chico on the side so this meal is just so delicious one of my recent faves and I think it's just so nice for the more summery months dinner was delicious and written I thought of a brilliant idea to dip dip our fortune cookies and some dark chocolate so I'm going to try that in a second but first I kind of have energy so I want to do it I want to figure out what sauce so bright one second as I was saying I want to clear out my desk area like I said earlier to kind of create a clean space so that I can start gathering new pieces to make my desk vision board come true so I'm gonna do that right now okay so this is the space kind of all bare and empty I'll probably try to fit these notebooks in this drawer as well but I don't know we'll see what the situation brings and I don't know if I'm going to keep this shelf here it is kind of nice to have that so I probably will and then I'll keep my plaque and then this little mailbox and then we'll see what else I definitely want to find a new floor lamp I've actually had this floor lamp it's from my childhood bedroom and it actually was originally black and I spray painted it white a few years ago and it's fine but it's definitely not ideal so I'll try to find our placement for that and then all switch out my chair back to my pink one um that Brandon's easy he's is my chick you claims it with your little my pink blanket over the pink chair he's just got his throne his pink throne over there and then I really want to find some kind of storage solution for this area but the problem is it's such a tiny space I mean it's I don't even think it's even a foot it's probably like nine inches or ten inches so that's the tricky part but I'm excited I made some chocolate-covered fortune cookies and strawberries so we're just having all the treats tonight all right friends that is all for today's vlog it was a really fun day though making fortune cookies was definitely the highlight so if you guys are looking for something to do I highly recommend and we got a lot of work done I'm actually gonna do some more computer work tonight but I just want to take a shower take my makeup off and then just like be a potato in bed with my laptop so that's what I'm gonna do but thank you guys so much for hanging out with me today I hope you
