[MUSIC PLAYING] I love Vegas. Vegas stole my heart, man. How many years now, here? RYAN: 16 years? That's how long
you've been with me. Maybe it's not Vegas. Maybe it's me. [LAUGHTER] My man Ryan and I
have just finished up some very important projects,
and we're looking for the next. So there's this old neighborhood
I've been wanting to check out. I'm hoping we get lucky today. All right, now
we're getting close. Let's go in here to the right. Let's just go for it. Here we go. Oh, what's here on the right? Stingray. Probably a '64 or '65. I think we need to find out. Looks like it needs love. We could be the guys to love it. I'm gonna knock on the
door before somebody comes out and gets mad. Yeah. DANNY: All right. [KNOCKING ON DOOR] Man. Hey, how you doing? I hope I'm not interrupting you. No. I'm Danny. This is Ryan. And we're car guys. Now, what year is this one? This is a 1966. DANNY (VOICEOVER): Back in
1966, "Sports Illustrated" gave actor and all-around
speed demon Steve McQueen six high-end sports
cars to test drive, including a '66 Corvette. He was so impressed with
its power and handling, he called it one of the fastest
production cars for the money. And if this '66
Stingray gets the king of cool stamp of approval,
well, let me tell you something, it gets mine. How long have
you had this car? I'm the second owner. I've had it for 40 years. 40 years? What happened here in the front? I, uh, sort of hit
the back of a truck. It'll flop back into shape. Sure. RICKY: Let me open
the hood for you. I like the Stinger
hood on here. It looks good. This gotta be 425, 450 horse? 420.
DANNY: 420? There you go. That's a lot of horsepower
for a plastic car. Absolutely. This car will get up
and rock and roll. I gotta take a closer look. This thing's gotta
sound great, man. Would it start right
now if you fired it up? The battery's dead right now. You know, I wish I could. I'd love for you to hear it. DANNY: Digging on this. And, you know, one of the
nice things is that wing window. I know. I love wing windows, I do. I think it's one of the coolest
things cars used to have. Before they had
air conditioning. DANNY: Right. I mean, you just
adjusted the wing window, and it's no problem. DANNY: This is a
pretty cool car. You look like you're
growing roots in there. I am growing
roots in here, man. RICKY: He's pushing away
my old roots in there. DANNY: I'm sure you get
asked this all the time, and so I'm gonna be the
next guy who asks you-- would you ever consider
selling this car? Now I will, 'cause I'm in
danger of losing my house. And you know, it's gonna
be the house or the car. I understand that feeling. Have you thought about
a number on this car? 25 seems like a
reasonable number, considering the nose damage. You know, I love this car. DANNY: Yeah. You know, it's been my baby. People call me Ricky Corvette. I can't imagine them
calling me Ricky Toyota. [LAUGHTER] There's no pride in that one. No, no. This '66 got a ton
of potential, man. I love C2s. This could be the
project I'm looking for. Plus, I might be able
to help a gentleman out of a jam at the same time. Brother, I tell you, I
know you're Ricky Corvette. I can see why. It fits you. Well, let me ask you this. As is, you don't
have to do anything. Don't fix it. Don't start it. Don't do anything to it. Would you consider a cash
offer of 18 grand on this car? I just got an offer
of 18 grand a week ago. Would 20 do it? I'd think about it. But you know, you're
dealing with somebody that has physical and emotional
attachment to the car. Let me tell you something. Welcome to the club. I want to shake
your hand on that one, because I am the same way. I can imagine the
person with this. And I also completely understand
and realize that this is not necessarily something
you want to do right now, and I respect that. What would it take
to seal this deal? Somewhere between 20 and 25. Like, 24.99, or something. [LAUGHS] Would you do 22? I never thought
I'd be doing this. How about 23? The gears are turning. I'd rather you have it,
'cause I don't want to sell it to one of my
neighbors and have it pass by my house every day. RYAN: Oh, you'd hate that. Right now, money is
more important than fun. There's so much
love in this car. Yeah, I can feel it. Tell you what, man. I don't know if
it's you or the car, but you have yourself a deal. All right, sounds good. Thank you, sir. Thank you very much. I will give this car so
much love, I promise you. RICKY: Sounds good. DANNY: See you tomorrow, Rick. RICKY: All right. This could be a win-win
all the way around, man. Picked up a beautiful '66
Vette to fix up and flip, and we helped out a gentleman
save his house, man. This is gonna be
a great project. It's got everything I'm
looking for, you know? Now we're just gonna do it up. RYAN: I'm not mad at you. I would have bought it. DANNY: Exactly. DANNY (VOICEOVER): We took
this gorgeous '66 Vette and went all the
way nuts on her. We kept the timeless C2
styling and gave it an updated Count's Kustoms style makeover. And man, this thing is smoking. We deleted the front
bumpers and changed out the grill, creating
a sleeker look on this Vette's pretty face. We kept that 427 Stinger hood,
because it's just too cool. And under that hood, we
installed a BluePrint 383 stroker engine and
paired it with side pipes that make her sound mean. Lastly, we replaced
those pop-up headlights for those cool SCCA
road course L88-inspired headlight assemblies. I love 'em. Man, this thing is sure
to turn heads of Vette lovers and everyone else too. So I called my buddy
Greg to come over and lay his eyes on it, because
this guy knows cars and he's got good taste. Still driving the Impala. What up, Greg? Hey, Danny. If I get his
stamp of approval, I know the owner's
gonna love it. What is the guy
expecting from you? What kind of car did he want? He just really wanted just
a fun car, a muscle car, a sports car, a hot rod car. To me, that says Corvette. I just kind of did it how I
would do it for the amount of money that he had. Right, right. So come look at this. So let me see it. Tell me what you think. It's basically ready to ship? Yeah, we're down to it. So you're down to-- Oh, we're down to it. There's something
you don't like, I don't have a lot of time.
- Oh, my gosh. Ryan, bring it out, man! Come on! Come on. Look at that. [ENGINE ROARS] GREG: Wow. DANNY: [LAUGHS] That's fantastic. [ENGINE ROARING] Wow. First impressions? First thing is the color. DANNY: Jelly red. GREG: Fantastic. It's not wild, but
it's clearly a custom. DANNY: Perfect. GREG: But the best
part is coming out. Those headlights
are just phenomenal. DANNY: Agreed. That makes the car pop. I couldn't agree
with you more, man. I love the L88
racing headlights. GREG: This makes it different
than every other one at a car show. DANNY: Agreed. Wow. And it'll always work instead of
those stupid roll-up deals you have to find that get stuck-- Vacuums and electric motors. GREG: Right. Great choice. These aren't an
off-the-shelf kit. No. GREG: They're one-off? We made these lenses. So he has a one-off set? - One-off windows--
- That's insane. --one-off lights. We made these in a powder
coat oven here in town. GREG: This guy is gonna be so
happy with these headlights. DANNY: They're gorgeous. How do you feel about the
other mild custom touches? GREG: Period wheels. DANNY: Yes. GREG: Beautiful side pipes. DANNY: Yes. We put the '67 big
black hood on a '66 car. GREG: Right. DANNY: Actual, real side mount
headers, as you would have. GREG: What's it got for a motor? Let's check it out. You're gonna dig it. You're gonna like this too. You're really gonna
like this too. It has got a 383 stroke. Clean. Look at this. GREG: Wow. DANNY: About 475
horse-ish, give or take, backed up with the four-speed. Big aluminum radiator. Gotta keep it cool. Nice electric fans. Gotta keep it cool. Brand new Restomod
air conditioning. You know I gotta put
AC in everything. Disc brakes all the
way around in the car. Power steering. The side mount headers
and side pipes. Nice stuff. DANNY: I'ma close the hood. Show off the interior. Let me see. No more, no less than
is absolutely necessary. All Dakota Digital
on the gauges. The wood wheel. Factory-style interior seats. GREG: Simple, clean. Dude, it's-- Simple, clean. It's a pretty
cool ride, ain't it? Yeah. So you're the client. You're sitting
there at your house. The doorbell rings. There's a big shipping
truck out front. They roll up the door. They back this baby out. Boom, how do you feel? A purist might think
the car's incorrect-- DANNY: Right. GREG: --because it's
missing all the flaws that the car came with. DANNY: Right. But a guy that just
wants a really nice car, you've made the
car what it should have been from the beginning. Honestly, I wouldn't
change a thing. Yeah, absolutely amazing. That's how we
felt, but we needed a fresh set of eyes, man. I love this car. Well, this is how
I would drive it, so. Speaking of driving it-- Yeah? --you took me for a ride
in your '63 a few days ago. Oh, yeah. Yeah, take me for
a ride in this. Sure. Let's drive this thing. Let's go. Let's see what it's like. We'll be back. Oh, I love this car! [ENGINE ROARS] [MUSIC PLAYING] Nothing beats seeing a happy
client when they lay their eyes on their Count's customized
car for the first time and they smile so big. But Greg, he's a car guy. The man's got good taste. I get his stamp of approval,
I know that the client's gonna be digging this ride. Wow, this car
drives great, Danny. [ENGINE ROARS] DANNY: This '66 is
done exactly the way I would have done it for myself. I really hate to
see this car go, but I know it's going
to a great home. I know it's going to
somebody who's going to love it just as much as I do. [LAUGHS]
