Counselor Reacts To James Charles "Holding Myself Accountable" Apology Video [Bad Decisions!]

hello everyone my name is jasmine and i wanted to start this video off by saying that i am a james charles fan and i'm aware of that and i'm going to be aware of my biases as you know in this video i will be talking about james charles accountability video or his apology video and just analyzing the meaning the underlying messages within his video i will be noticing if he's being truly genuine also i'll be talking a little bit about his background and his success his career journey and things that really built him up to be the person that he is today all of those factors will play a huge role in the situation that he's in now and i feel like it's very easy to be hard on celebrities or to be very judgmental it's very easy to judge someone who we don't really consider a normal human being we kind of have them on this pedestal and they're supposed to be perfect and not have any mistakes and that's just simply not the case a little bit about my background i'm a counseling intern and i'm currently getting my degree for clinical and mental health counseling and so i will be doing this video based on my education and experience the video starts off in a very serious tone we see james charles he looks pretty normal no makeup he's really trying to show his genuine face his you know his vulnerabilities i'm not gonna analyze too much of like his clothing and background because yeah sometimes that can play a role in how someone is trying to portray themselves but also you have to remember some of these people have pr reps who are dictating how they should go about their video they script the video sometimes they also set up the lighting they set up the scenery and so sometimes they just follow along with what they are presented with now this whole situation with james is really a shock to me because i've i mean i'm not super into twitter and instagram i'm not really on social media that much but i haven't really heard about any of the rumors that were circulating and so i had to literally look it up and i found that there were a few interesting videos of people screenshotting photos of james charles that he sent to them through snapchat or instagram and a lot of it was of a very flirtatious nature however the most concerning one to me was you know the one where he was sending people money and it was all documented which really sucks for him but if we're looking at james charles and how he came to fame i mean he started at such a young age and he was in the spotlight at a very young age he had to grow up really fast he turned this following into a career and had to really grow up and probably missed out on a lot of his childhood i think he even mentioned in one of his previous apology videos that he didn't have a lot of experience with love or dating and he doesn't really know how to be normal he doesn't know how to talk to a guy how to date he hasn't been in a real true relationship and you have to remember james charles is 21 years old he's 21 and at that age love and relationship is super important especially if you're a celebrity it's sort of glamorized you know you have to be with someone you have to be in a relationship to be happy and just considering his family his family is in a different state so he's kind of by himself even though he may have family or friends that are there i know his parents and his brother live somewhere else so that is also a huge factor and like feelings of loneliness or just wanting to have someone close from the looks of it he was pretty close to his family i don't know james charles i'm just going based off what he portrays us and shows us now when i watched the video i did notice that he was being very genuine and open about his insecurities and his mistakes he took full ownership which is probably the most important part of an apology is taking accountability and then he even suggested some resolutions that he wanted to follow through with which shows that he actually took the time to think about it he was very open to learning i didn't see any major concerns with his facial expressions i think everything that he was portraying was genuine however the question comes down to what are the consequences you know like he said in his own video you can apologize as many times as you want in a video but what are the consequences of your actions there has to be some type of justice on the other hand when i look at the screenshots of these very private and personal messages from you know quote unquote fans it just makes you think you know what were their intentions screenshotting those images what were their intentions talking to james in the first place i think a lot of people are quick to demonize when it comes to age and consent and things like that but keeping in mind that james charles is 21 he's still very young and if his experience or lack thereof of experience and relationships and love is true then it really does explain his immature mindset when it comes to dating and relationships sending guys money for pictures or talking to guys because they're hot or because they have a lot of followers or whatever it is those are all very shallow reasons to be interested in someone now i am not condoning you know underage relationships or predatorial relationships but i don't think james charles is a predator i think that james charles is immature when it comes to love and relationships and i think that he's in love with the idea of love but he doesn't really know what it is he wants in a relationship because he doesn't have much experience in his video he mentioned a lot of times that he thought that this was all his fault and that he should have taken the measures to research the guys that he was talking to but i think it's very hard to speculate what happened and what didn't happen in those messages they're very private personal we don't really truly know what happened a lot of people like to use celebrities for clout and they try to set celebrities up in a way to get them in trouble or to have some sort of scandal so that they can become famous from it or get sympathy very odd things i think the true issue is with james charles and his feelings of loneliness i really think that his issue with love and relationship really stems from just feeling lonely or being alone and not having deep relationships i also think that it's kind of hypocritical for people to judge him for sending money to other guys when everyone likes to talk about having a sugar daddy and or sugar mama and you know living that life i do think it's important to mention the power dynamic he even mentions it in his own video there is a power dynamic when one individual in the relationship has more money more power more fame more recognition and the other person may feel obligated to go along with the other individual's whims i think that james charles was genuine when he mentioned this and it is true it can definitely happen but from my perspective this all seems like a very just immature flirting immature texting videos things like that it seems like something a high schooler would do and because james charles missed out on a lot of his childhood i feel like a lot of that is where it's coming from a lot of people like to talk about age and how the older person is you know supposed to be more mature and things like that if we want to get technical the male brain doesn't fully mature until age 25. these are just some things to consider before fully making accusations or completely destroying someone's image or tearing them down i think that james charles really needs to evaluate his emotions and truly discover why he's so desperate to be in a relationship i'm not saying desperate to make fun of him it's what he said in his own video i too get the sense that he is desperate for love but not for the right reasons i feel the true issue lies in his loneliness and need for another person he'll need to find a way to find that love within himself and look inwards so again the main question is what's next what should be the consequences of his actions should he be condemned and if so to what extent for me i'm a very empathetic person i like to consider all the factors that make someone the way that they are even for the individuals who were texting back and forth with james or who were involved i can only hope that he takes this lesson to heart and truly learns from the experience all right you guys thank you so much for watching my video please check out my channel for other
